Part 1

Sonic punched Metal Sonic over and over, but nothing was getting past its guard. Even with slower movements, Metal Sonic managed to throw away all of Sonic's attacks. It didn't help that Metal Sonic kept taunting him.

"Come on! Is that all you've got? My grandma hits harder, and she's a computer!" Metal Sonic grabbed Sonic's wrist throwing him to the ground judo style. "Your punches are more embarrassing than someone trying to show a blind man sign language."

Sonic swept his feet, but Metal Sonic jumped over. "Are you fighting or break dancing?" Metal Sonic yawned covering his mouth. "Blue blur? More like blue bore."

Metal Sonic caught Sonic's arms, throwing him up into the air. Sonic tried crashing his feet into Metal Sonic, but was caught by his ankles.

"Tornado!…" Metal Sonic spun around and around before slamming Sonic into a rock. "Smash!"

Sonic tried standing, but his body was collapsing. His vision blurred and the world began to spin. Metal Sonic pounded his chest. The robot pointed to the sky, swinging its arm into a thumbs down.

Metal Sonic ran at a rock wall, and jumped off. He went at least 20 meters into the air, did 2 backflips, and dove at Sonic with arms crossed in an x shape. "Sky Hammer!"

The impact covered the area with dirt and dust. Most spectators covered their eyes and coughed. When the dust settled, Sonic lay on the ground unmoving. The ref started a 3 count. "1!...2!...3!" The ref blew his whistle. "The winner of the match by knockout is Metal Sonic."

Metal Sonic made flexing noises as the crowd booed him. "No one can face the machine!" He bowed as people threw cups and cans at him. Then he sped up. He'd grabbed Sonic and left the mountain range before anyone could react. Within a few minutes Metal Sonic was back at the Chaos Containment station.

Chief Oran had been chewing James out when an unconscious Sonic was laid at his feet. A robotic voice came from Metal Sonic. "Sonic in custody. Use of pressure points and temporary constraining of arteries was used to incapacitate him without causing brain damage." Metal Sonic's voice changed to a pro wrestler. "And viewers got the show of their lives!" The robotic voice returned. "Metal Sonic shutting down." Metal Sonic returned to its holding cell, and the lights in its eyes dimmed.

Chief Oran and James both stared at Sonic and Metal Sonic for a few minutes. Eventually Oran spoke. "Well, it's weird. But it got the job done. Good…work-I guess." Oran shook his head. "Inform Dr. Robotnick that Sonic has been captured. I'm…gonna-get back to work."

Part 2

Tikal looked back and forth between 2 computer screens. One showed a map with regions highlighted in red. The other screen showed sets of numbers. "Ok. Looks like there's electromagnetic radiation matching the wavelength of a chaos emerald just off the north coast of Eschul."

Tikal handed Shadow a device. "This will beep louder when you get close to a chaos emerald. At least that's what my journal said."

Shadow took a closer look at the map. "Hold on. Tikal. I might be fast, but I can't breathe underwater. And I'm not some super hero that can handle the pressure of an ocean trench."

Tikal shook her head. "I'm not asking you to. I just need to know where it is. If it's in shallow water like I suspect, problem solved. If not, we can send a sub team to get it. At this point we have clearance to use just about any military equipment available. I'm mostly trying to confirm that the emerald is there. The tracker should start reacting within a kilometer of a chaos emerald."

Shadow turned the device on. It pinged really quickly. Tikal turned it off. "Well, now we know it works."

Shadow headed out the door and ran as fast as he could.

Tikal grabbed a cup of tea and flipped through her journal. She'd read most of it already, but for some reason several parts were in languages she couldn't understand.

She'd found translations for a few of those sections, but this one didn't seem to match any language she could find. Silver and Blaze might know, so she could wait until they returned.

What couldn't wait was figuring out a passage about Chaos's powers. If she was reading it right, Chaos could influence technology.

Part 3

Silver walked away from the platform. For a second he swore he saw a red light on the ground. The angle led back to the top of the platform, but whatever light had been there was gone.

Silver looked back where the light had been to find nothing. He made his way out of the cave. "Hey Blaze? Are you out here?"

"Yeah." Blaze sat by on a set of rocks in a circle, chowing down on a power bar. "Anything useful in there?" She asked, not looking at him.

Silver sat down next to her. "I don't know." Blaze handed him a bar. "I found a machine of some sort. Not sure what it does though. Wanted to make sure I talked to you and Tikal before trying anything."

Blaze nodded. "Tikal. Do you copy?"

"Yeah. Any updates?"

"Green found some sort of machine in there. Why don't you tell her?" Blaze switched the call to the watch of a very confused Silver.

Silverspoke into his watch. "Hey Tikal."

"What'd you find?"

"A pedestal with some sort of light or laser device. I'm not sure what it does, but based on the massive water turbine below I have to imagine it uses a lot of power. I didn't activate anything, but I'm pretty sure a red light came from it at some point."

"All right. Thanks Green."

There it was again. "Uh…Tikal. Did you just call me Green?"

Blaze looked Silver with a confused look. "Why would you-Wha!?" She jumped back, panic on her face.

"Blaze, are you ok?" Silver reached his hand out, but Blaze swatted it away.

She got in a fighting stance. "Who are you!? Where's Green!?"

"Whoa. Blaze, calm down. It's me, Silver." Silver dropped his arms. "Who's Green?"

"My boyfriend! What have you done to him!?"

Silver caught off guard said. "You have a boyfriend? Man, I really need to pay more attention when you're talking." Then he thought about it. "Wait I thought you were lesbian."

Flames burst from Blaze's hand. "Tell me where Green is. Or I will burn you alive."

Silver gulped. He knew he could cut off oxygen for Blaze's flames. But he didn't know if he could stop her without hurting her, or getting killed. "Blaze calm down."

@momojifan: May have gone a little overboard on the whole programmers don't always remember what they put in a code thing. But it made me laugh so I kept it in.
