Misadventures Chapter 2: New Duel Academy
(Before the chapter starts, I'd like to say this:
For those who want to draw my custom cards or my OC, go for it. You don't have to ask for a collaboration, especially since I'd be way too busy to do stuff like that. But what I will say is that you may go ahead and draw them.
Although for the OC, the only part I need to say is that the hair is brown and looks kinda like a flowing flame/water. And it's short not going past the ears. Oh, and it doesn't spike up.)
Osrelios and Declan were currently in the Fusion Dimension.
They were currently overseeing the reconstruction of Academia, as well as figuring out who to hire as new faculty.
With Leo Akaba in jail, the Doktor permanently gone, and a few other teacher/faculty taken down and/or arrested, that left a gap in who would be in charge of the academy.
It was quickly put in Leo Corp's hands to figure that out.
Declan was quick to seize the dimensional travel technology and repurpose it as a way for those who want to learn to be able to attend even if they live in another dimension.
With the reconstruction of Heartland, this would provide education for children of the XYZ Dimension.
It was quickly figured to have the building be repurposed to be a hybrid between a regular school and a dueling school.
Oz had given the input of changing the name of the school to Duel Academy.
Jaden and Ryo, who were also helping in the reconstruction, agreed with the name and it became official.
Right now, they were figuring out who could be the headmaster for the academy.
It was suggested that Declan could, but that also had its down sides.
While he was qualified, seeing as he already runs a company that has spread across the globe in the Pendulum Dimension.
Having a second "Professor Akaba" wasn't exactly something people would be comfortable with, even if he's nothing like his father.
It would also be difficult to manage schools across two separate dimensions, even for him.
In the end, the responsibility for headmaster fell onto Ryo, seeing as he was pretty much the most trustworthy and skilled duelists around.
Oz could have also qualified for the position of not for his age, being 14 and all.
Despite Jaden being just shy of an adult, he somehow qualified for becoming a professor. Mostly due to his experience that came from his current and past life.
Of course he'd only be able to teach dueling courses, due to his history of being a slacker in everything other than dueling.
When figuring out how to hire more faculty, Oz suggested sending out information to the other Dimensions for anyone looking for an opportunity to take it.
This would be especially helpful for residents of the Synchro and XYZ Dimensions.
This would also serve as a way of allowing the Dimensions to live in peace and harmony.
The building had to be remodeled as well.
This would be a project that would take a while, seeing as there was a lot of traps, and no-longer-necessary rooms and such.
Leo Akaba's throne room was to have the Arc-V Reactor completely dismantled and removed, to make room for, well, more rooms.
Due to the size of the room, it was planned to be turned into a whole set of office rooms for a bunch of the staff.
Even a room for an on-site therapist was to be included.
Over all, the academy was going to be transformed from a symbol of fear and control, to a symbol of a new dawn.
Oz was currently exploring the lower levels of the academy, looking for anything interesting that could prove either useful or dangerous.
He ended up finding a huge collection of Duel Monsters related items.
From piles upon piles of cards, Duel Disks, to even merchandise.
Oz grinned.
Pulling up the call function on his Duel Disk, he called Ryo.
"What is it?" Ryo asked once he picked up.
"You're not going to believe what I found."
Oz then turned the camera and showed the find.
Ryo's eyes widened at the sight.
"That is a lot. Where even are you?" Ryo asked.
"In the basement." Oz answered.
Oz walked to one of the piles of cards and could see many different cards ranging from Fusion to even Synchro and XYZ.
"With this many cards, we could supply the students with a deck so they don't need one as a pre-requirement."
"The merchandise could be sold as a secondary source of income."
"This is certainly a great find, Osrelios." Ryo stated. "Good work, I'll send for a group to begin to gather the find."
Ryo then ended the call.
Before Oz left, he noticed a few interesting cards.
'A high level Dark attribute Tuner? Why does a Tuner need to be that high of a level?'
Oz then saw a black card next to it with 12 blue stars on the left.
His eyes widened.
'A DarkSynchro!?'
"I've encountered something concerning."
Dark Magician and a few other more prominent Duel Spirits appeared in spirit form.
"A DarkSynchro monster? And it's level negative 12. Seeing a blank card like this truly is concerning." Dark Magician commented.
"Everyone, look around for any other DarkSynchro card." Oz ordered.
As he and the Duel Spirits went searching, especially through sensing for any more, they couldn't find another DarkSynchro card.
"So no more DarkSynchro cards here. That's good. But what should be do about the one here?" Oz inquired.
"I say keep it. It could prove handy in the future. Besides I don't sense any Earthbound Immortal energy on it, nor do I sense the energy of the lord of the Netherworld, so it would be okay to keep." Sephylon said.
"You want me to keep it?"
"Sure. And that Dark Tuner seems like the perfect way of summoning it. Besides, it's better off with us rather than a random student." Sephylon explained his logic.
"That... that's fair." Oz could not find any logical argument.
Oz then grabbed the two cards and placed them in his ultimate deck.
Oz made his way back to the upper floors of the academy, passing by the workers sent by Ryo to collect the find.
Of course he also had a few of the merchandise with him, including a surprising find of plush versions of the Signer Dragons. He planned on giving them to the twins.
He got a message on his Duel Disk from Declan asking about any suggestions on who could be a professor at the academy.
Oz immediately had the perfect individual in mind: Crow.
Oz threw in the suggestion simply because he knew that Crow knows how to handle kids and he's currently unemployed.
Oz had just reached the ground floor of the academy and walked out to the courtyard.
When he got there, he noticed Serena and Yuri there, talking to each other.
"Hey there you two!" Oz greeted.
The two looked over and saw him. They responded with a wave.
Over the past few months, Yuri had been to a lot of therapy sessions and has mostly mellowed out.
He does show some of his old sadistic tendencies here and there, but they are much more mellow than they used too be.
"Well, well. If it isn't the man of the hour." Yuri said. "And here I thought I'd go bored."
"Go bored?" Oz asked.
"He's been taking about having a rematch with you." Serena explained.
"A rematch? Sure."
"Good. Good. I've gotten stronger so let's see just how well you can do against me now." Yuri said as he got out his Duel Disk.
Oz set down the merchandise he was carrying and got out his Duel Disk.
The two stood at a good pace away from each other and started their rematch.
"Duel!" They shout.
"I'll be taking the first turn." Yuri declared.

"I'll start by setting the Pendulum Scale with scale 0 Predaplant Bufolicula and scale 8 Predaplant Triantis. With them, I can summon monsters from levels 1 through 7 all at once."
"Now, Pendulum Summon! Come forth! Predaplant Leorose! And Predaplant Drosophyllum Hydra."
Predaplant Leorose: atk: 500
Predaplant Drosophyllum Hydra: atk: 800
"Now, here's proof of my new strength! Next I tune my level 5 Drosophyllum Hydra to my level 2 Leorose. Synchro Summon! Level: 7! Kuibelt the Blade Dragon!"
The new dragon appeared and gave out a roar that sounded like scraping metal.
Kuibelt the Blade Dragon: atk: 2500
"Oh? You got yourself a new Synchro monster?" Oz observed.
"Indeed I did. Although considering Kuibelt's effect, it would have been smarter to wait before summoning it, but I just wanted to show it off first." Yuri explained.
'So that explains that misplay. To be honest, I bet he only summoned that early so he can have a material for that combined form I heard Yuya and Yuto mention.' Oz thought to himself.
Oz knew about Kuibelt's effect upon summon. Which was to target and destroy a card.
The fact that Yuri summoned Kuibelt right away just shows that he just wanted to show off.
"I now set 1 card and end my turn." Yuri declared.
'Well, time to show him up. He purposely misplayed that card just to show that he's able to use Summoning Methods other than Fusion. So I'll show him my strength with this brand new deck.'
"My turn. Draw!" Oz shouts.
Osrelios LP: 4000 hand: 6
Oz looked at the cards in hand.
"I banish Light End Dragon and Dark End Dragon from my Extra Deck." Oz declared as he immediately pocketed the cards.
"Doing this allows me to summon their alternate forms: Light End Sublimation Dragon and Dark End Evaporation Dragon!"
Both alternate ends of light and dark emerge from portals and roar.
Light End Sublimation Dragon: atk: 2600
Dark End Evaporation Dragon: atk: 2600
"Two dragons that parallel each other." Serena said from the sidelines.
"Next I activate Dark End Evaporation's effect. By lowering its atk and Def by exactly 500, I can target and destroy another attack position monster on the field. I of course choose Kuibelt."
Dark End had red lines go down its body to signify it weakening, then it shot a dark blast at Kuibelt.
Kuibelt was consumed by the blast, covering Yuri's field in smoke.
"When Kuibelt is destroyed by my opponent, it can make one of your monster unable to attack until the end of your turn. I chose the dragon that hasn't weakened yet." Yuri declared.
Blades fly out of the smoke, hitting Light End in multiple locations, effectively subduing it.
"In that case, I'll use Light End Sublimation's effect to Fusion Summon using monsters from my hand and/or field."
"Oh? Fusing your two dragons?" Yuri inquired.
"Your partially right. Although I'll be summoning a monster of a brand new archetype, made by yours truly." Oz said.
"Now I fuse my Light End and Dark End to the Destiny Spirit Cyber Dragon in my hand!" Oz declared.
(Note: Destiny Spirit Achetype: An archetype that is filled with monsters that are alternate versions of pre-existing cards(irl). All Destiny Spirits have the design of the Ghost-Rare rarity of the cards they are based off of.)
The two dragons fly up and are joined by a ghostly looking version of Cyber Dragon.
Destiny Spirit Cyber Dragon: Attribute: Light, Type: Machine/Effect, Level: 5, Atk: 2100, Def: 1600
Effect: If your opponent controls a monster while you don't, you can Special Summon this card from you hand. Once while face-up on the field: Your opponent's attack is negated.
"Evolutionary mechanical dragon of destiny. Join your powers with two allies and evolve to an even greater power so we may guide the future to a new path! Fusion Summon! Level: 10! Destiny Spirit Cyber End Dragon!" Oz chanted.
A ghostly looking version of Cyber End Dragon appeared and gave out a echo-y mechanical roar.
Destiny Spirit Cyber End Dragon: Attribute: Light, Type: Machine/Fusion/Effect, Level: 10, Atk: 4000, Def: 2800
Summon Conditions: "Destiny Spirit Cyber Dragon" {plus} 2 effect monsters
Effect: Must first be Fusion Summoned. If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict Piercing Battle Damage. Once per turn: you can destroy cards your opponent controls up to the amount of "Destiny Spirit" monsters used for this card's Fusion Summon. This card can not attack the turn you activate this card's effect.
"Woah!" Sounded out a random voice.
A bunch of the people who were there working on the academy had stopped and were watching the duel.
"That looks like the monster that the new headmaster uses." Another voice said.
"I now use Destiny Cyber End's effect." Oz declared. "I can destroy cards my opponent controls up to the number of 'Destiny Spirit' monsters used for its Summon. I used one, so say goodbye to that face down!"
Destiny Cyber End shot a white blast at the face down, destroying it.
"On the downside, Destiny Cyber End can't attack the turn it used that effect." Oz explained.
"I'll set 2 cards and end my turn." Oz declared.
"My turn. Draw." Yuri declared.
Yuri LP: 4000 hand: 1
"Hmm... I'll have to end my turn here." Yuri said with nothing he could do at the moment.
"In that case: my turn. Draw!" Oz declared.
Osrelios LP: 4000 hand: 2
Oz was about to grab a card from his hand when Yuri spoke up.
"I now banish Leorose to immediately end the turn." Yuri interrupted.
Oz blinked in surprise. He didn't even get to think of a strategy for what he had in his hand.
"It is now my turn again. I draw." Yuri declared.
Yuri LP: 4000 hand: 2
"I shall now Pendulum Summon! Come forth! Predaplants: Spider Orchid and Byblisp!"
The two mentioned Predaplants appeared from the Pendulum Portal.
Predaplant Spider Orchid: Def: 0

"Next I use Bufolicula's Pendulum Effect to Fusion Summon. Two beautiful flowers with an insect-alluring fragrance! Now become one, and from the hell beneath your petals, give birth to a new terror! Fusion Summon! Appear! Poisonous dragon with hungry fangs. Level 8: Starving Venom Fusion Dragon!" Yuri chanted.
Starving Venom roared out.
Starving Venom Fusion Dragon: atk: 2800
'He may have changed but his chant didn't.' Oz thought to himself.
"Now when Byblisp is sent to the GY, I can add any Predaplant to my hand. I choose a second copy of Bufolicula." Yuri stated.
"Next, when Starving Venom is summoned, it gains the total atk of all of your monsters."
Starving Venom absorbed surrounding energy from Cyber End.
Starving Venom Fusion Dragon: atk: 6800
"Now, Starving Venom! Take down his Destiny Spirit!"
"Trap Card activate! Drain Shield! Your attack is negated and I gain LP equal to Starving Venom's!"

"Hmph. Countering my strategies just like before. Good." Yuri commented.
"I end my turn. And Starving Venom's atk returns to normal."
Starving Venom Fusion Dragon: atk: 2800
"My turn. Draw." Oz declared.
Osrelios LP: 10800 hand: 3
"I activate the Ritual Spell: Destiny Formation! This allows me to summon 'Destiny Spirit' Ritual monsters by banishing monsters from my field or GY. I banish Light End Sublimation Dragon."
"Gathering light and darkness creates the power known as: Chaos. May we, the new weavers of the Tapestry of Destiny, use this Chaos to weave the world a new path! I Ritual Summon! Come forth! Level: 8! Destiny Spirit Chaos Soldier!" Oz chanted.
A tapestry depicting a large blue flame appears and the flame on the tapestry glows.
A spectral-white hand emerges from the flame and the ghostly-looking Black Luster Soldier climbed out of the tapestry.
The soldier then drew his sword and pointed it at Starving Venom.
Destiny Spirit Chaos Soldier: Attribute: Earth, Type: Warrior/Ritual/Effect, Level: 8, atk: 3000, Def: 2500
Effect: You can Ritual Summon this card with any Ritual Card that Ritual Summons Warrior, Earth, "Chaos", and/or "Destiny Spirit" monsters. Once per turn: You can negate the effects of all face-up monsters your opponent controls, but for the rest of the turn, any Battle Damage your opponent takes is halved. If this card is destroyed by an opponent's card: Special Summon 2 monsters from your GY and/or Banishment.
(Chaos Soldier is the original name of Black Luster Soldier, thus the reason it is Chaos Soldier here)
"Even a special version of the legendary Black Luster Soldier? This just keeps getting better and better." Yuri commented.
"This special version is more than a re-color. He's got his own special abilities." Oz explained.
"Abilities such as the one to immediately negate the effects of all face-up monsters you control."
Chaos Soldier swung his blade and a white slash wave emerged from it. The slash wave hit Starving Venom and caused it to dull.
"The down side is that I can only deal half the battle damage to you for this turn only." Oz explained.
"Now, Chaos Soldier, attack Starving Venom!" Oz shouts.
Chaos Soldier charged the dragon.
Starving Venom swung its tail in an attempt to ward off the Soldier, but he blocked it with his shield.
The soldier then bashed the dragon on the face with his shield before swinging his sword and cutting Starving Venom in half.

Starving Venom's tail began to twitch as Chaos Soldier retreated back to Oz' side.
Suddenly the tail began to lash out towards Oz' field.
"Don't forget Starving Venom's effect." Yuri reminded.
"Don't worry, I didn't." Oz said.
"I play the trap: Interdimensional Matter Transporter. With it, I banish Destiny Cyber End, until the end phase."
Destiny Cyber End then began to disappear.
"But your soldier will still go down." Yuri stated.
"It's a calculated risk." Oz said.
The tail coiled around Chaos Soldier and the proceeded to consume him in the mouth-like end.
Some of the acid that dwells within Starving Venom ended up splashing Oz, causing him some pain.

"When Chaos Soldier falls, he calls forth two allies from beyond the grave and the exiled. Return! Light End Sublimation Dragon and Dark End Evaporation Dragon!"
The two dragons reappeared and roared.

"Now, while I could end the duel here, it wouldn't show me how much you've improved, so I'll end my turn here." Oz declared. "And Destiny Cyber End comes back.
The mentioned Fusion monster reappeared and roared.

"Well then, I thank you for this chance." Yuri said.
"My turn. Draw!"

"Pendulum Summon! Come forth! Predaplants Bufolicula and Spider Orchid!

"Now I use Bufolicula's Pendulum Effect to Fuse these two Pendulum monsters together! Come forth! Level: 5! Predaplant Ambulomelides!"
Predaplant Ambulomelides: Def: 2500
"When this Predaplant is Fusion Summoned, I can add any 'Predaplant' monster, or 'Predap' Spell or Trap to my hand. I choose Predaprime Fusion."
"I now activate Predprime Fusion. I fuse the Triantis in my Pendulum Scale, with Ambulomelides. I can do this thanks to Predaplant Triantis' Pendulum Effect. Now... Viscous plant that takes the form of a dragon. Spread your toxins and create terror! Fusion Summon! Level: 8! Predaplant Dragostapelia!" Yuri chanted.
Predaplant Dragostapelia: atk: 2700
"When Triantis is sent to the face-up Extra Deck, I can distribute Predator Counters among the field, up to the number of monsters I control. Monsters with Predator Counters have their levels reduced to 1. I choose Dark End Evaporation Dragon."
Dark End Evaporation Dragon: level: 1
"I activate Dragostapelia's effect! I place a Predator Counter on your Fusion monster!" Yuri declared.
Destiny Spirit Cyber End Dragon: level: 1
'He didn't use it on Light End, which means I still have the advantage.' Oz thought to himself.
"Now I activate the final card in my hand! Dragon's Mirror!" Yuri shouts.
"By banishing Starving Venom and Ambulomelides, I can summon Starving Venom's final evolved form. Poisonous dragon with hungry fangs. Absorb the dimensional energy of Fusion and gain the full power of predators! Fusion Summon! Level: 10! Starving Venom Predapower Fusion Dragon!" Yuri chanted.
The fully evolved dragon roared.
Starving Venom Predapower Fusion Dragon: atk: 3600
"Now! Predapower! Attack and destroy Dark End Evaporation Dragon!" Yuri declared.
"Light End Dragon's effect activates! By reducing its atk and Def by 500, it can reduce your monster's atk by 1500!" Oz countered.
"I activate Predapower's effect. By tributing a monster with a Predator Counter, such as Cyber End, I can negate the activation of your effect." Yuri countered.
Predapower fired off a powerful blast that tore through Dark End.
At the same time, Cyber End dissipated into particles.
A cloud of dust surrounded Oz.
Osrelios LP: 6800
"Now! Dragostapelia! Attack Light End Sublimation Dragon!" Yuri shouts.
Dragostapelia charges and cut Light End in two.
Osrelios LP: 6700
"With that. My turn is done." Yuri declared.
"My turn. Draw!" Oz shouts.
Osrelios LP: 6700 hand: 2
"I play the spell card: Destiny Rewind. This card allows me to return 'Destiny Spirit' monsters from my field and/or GY to my deck, and for each returned, I can draw a card. I return the 3 Destiny Spirits that rest in my GY to draw 3 cards!"
The three cards are ejected from the GY and go into Deck and Extra Deck, the Deck Shuffles and then Oz drew 3 cards.
He looks at them and gains a large smirk.
"By banishing Light End Sublimation Dragon and Dark End Evaporation Dragon, I can Special Summon this card from my hand." Oz began.
(I've gotten a bit inspired by Final Fantasy 16)
"Oh great flames of rage that burned away the blights curse. I call upon your power so that you may rise once again, and burn away the Destiny of ruin! I call upon your power! Ifrit, Eikon of Raging Fire!" Oz chanted.
(Ifrit looks like how it does in Final Fantasy 16)
The flaming demonic creature emerged from a pillar of fire that shot up from the ground.
Ifrit then roared.
Ifrit, Eikon of Raging Fire: Attribute: Fire, Type: Fiend/Effect, Level: 9, atk: 3800, Def: 3400
Effect: This card can not be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned, from your hand, by banishing 2 level 7 or higher monster from your GY. This card can not be destroyed by Card Effects. Once per turn: If this card is attacked; you can negate that attack, then inflict damage to your opponent equal to half the atk of the monster that attacked this card. Once per turn: You can target 1 card your opponent controls, destroy it.
"By returning both versions of Light End and Dark End to my Deck and Extra Deck, I can Special Summon this next card from my hand." Oz declared.
"Oh, firebird who burns bright with noble flames. With your guiding light, may we follow our own path to a future of Prosperity! Now I call upon your power! Phoenix, Eikon of Fire!" Oz chanted.
(This one also looks just like to does in Final Fantasy 16)
The firebird of the flames of rebirth emerged from a pillar of fire, similar to how Ifrit appeared.
Phoenix, Eikon of Fire: Attribute: Fire, Type: Winged Beast/Effect, Level: 7, atk: 2900, Def: 3700
Effect: This card can not be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned by shuffling 2 or more monsters from Banishment back to the Deck/Extra Deck. For each card shuffled into the Deck/Extra Deck for this card's summon; place a Rebirth Counter on this card. Once turn: You can remove any number of Rebirth Counters from this card; Special Summon that many monsters from your GY. Once per Duel: If this card is sent to the GY; Special Summon it during the End Phase of the turn it is destroyed.
"When Phoenix is Summoned, he gains a Rebirth Counter for each monster used for his summon. In this case: 4." Oz explained.

"So, we are reunited again, brother." Phoenix said.
Oz was confused, by both what Phoenix said, and the fact that Phoenix spoke.
Oz was under the impression that they were hollow cards: cards without Spirits.
'I guess I was wrong about that.' Oz thought.
"Yes. It appears we have been reunited once again." Ifrit spoke up.
'Brother Spirits? Hmm... Their Spirits do feel similar to one another.'
"I now use Dragostapelia's effect on your birdie. Placing a Predator Counter on it, reducing its level to 1." Yuri said.
The small counter flew and bit one of Phoenix's feathers.
Phoenix, Eikon of Fire: level: 1
"You okay?" Ifrit asked his brother.
"I'm fine." Phoenix answered. "Just drained."
Ifrit then looks over at Dragostapelia and glares.
"Use my ability. Now!" Ifrit shouts.
Oz immediately did as asked. "I activate Ifrit's effect! Once per turn, Ifrit can destroy a card you control. I chose Dragostapelia!"
"In that case, I'll activate Predapower's effect to tribute your Phoenix and negate your Ifrit." Yuri countered.
"Not if I have anything to say about it! Go, quick-play spell: Effect Shut!" Oz countered back. "Your Predapower's effect is negated and Predapower is destroyed."
An energy net landed on Predapower, causing it to unleash its energy upon itself, and explode.
At the same time, Ifrit threw a ball of fire at Dragostapelia, destroying it.
"When Predapower is destroyed, I can revive any Dark monster from my GY. Return! Kuibelt the Blade Dragon!" Yuri declared.
Kuibelt the Blade Dragon: Def: 1900
"Now, Phoenix! Attack Kuibelt! Flames of Rebirth!" Oz shouts.
"On it!" Phoenix said as he fired off a bunch of small fireballs before firing a large stream of fire.
The fire destroyed Kuibelt, causing a dust cloud.
The swords fly out of the dust and stab Ifrit in the feet, pinning him to the ground.
"What the!?" Ifrit exclaimed as he tried to move.
"Kuibelt's ability. When it is destroyed, it prevents a monster from attacking until the end of the opponent's turn." Oz telepathically explained.
"I shall set 1 card and end my turn." Oz declared.
The swords pinning Ifrit disappeared.
"Ah, good. That was too uncomfortable." Ifrit commented, moving his feet to shake off the residual feeling of the swords.
"My turn. Draw." Yuri declared.
Yuri LP: 3800 hand: 1
Yuri saw the card he drew and smirked.
"I activate Miracle Synchro Fusion!" Yuri declared.
"By banishing Kuibelt and Predapower, I can fuse them together! Poisonous dragon with the full power of Predators. Dragon made up of sharp blades. Join your awesome powers together to form a brand new terror! Fusion Summon! Level 10: Venom Wing Dragon!" Yuri chanted.
Venom Wing appeared and roared.
Venom Wing Dragon: atk: 3500

"Not good!" Phoenix exclaimed in surprise.
"Venom Wing Dragon, attack Ifrit! Poisonous Whirlwind!"
"Time to use my other ability." Ifrit stated.
"Not gonna work." Oz said.
"I activate my face down: Ice Barrier! This trap negates the effects of your Dragon and reduces its atk to zero!" Oz countered.
Venom Wing was then incased in ice.
"Now, Ifrit! Fight back with HellFire!" Oz shouts.
"That's what I've been waiting to hear!" Ifrit exclaimed as he charged his attack.
"This game, is over!" Ifrit shouts as he threw a massive fireball at Venom Wing.
The fireball consumed the dragon and caused a large explosion.

As the monsters faded, Yuri is seen laying on his back.
He then sighed. "Defeated again."
"You certainly did better than our first duel, that's for sure." Oz commented as he walked up.
Oz then held out a hand.
Yuri took it and Oz helped him up.
"Looks like I'll just have to get even stronger." Yuri said.
"That will make our next duel more interesting. My recommendation is to try other Summoning methods."
"I'll see what I can use." Yuri said as he started to walk away.
Serena then approached.
"I've never seen you use those cards before." She commented.
"They're new." Oz replied. "Got some help creating them."
"Also, what's with all the plushies?" Serena asked.
"Found them in the lower levels. I'm going to give them to the twins."
"Plushies in the lower levels?"
"Yep. A bunch of other Duel Monsters merchandise is there as well. I threw the idea of selling them as a secondary source of income to Ryo."
"... I'm going to have to check it out." Serena said as she began to walk towards the building.
Serena then pulled out her Duel Disk and proceeded to call someone.
Oz quietly laughed.
He then walked over to a quiet corner and sat down.
"So... Eikons." Oz said. "What are you?"
Spectral forms of Ifrit and Phoenix appeared next to Oz.
"From what we have gathered, this is not the world we once resided in." Phoenix stated.
"So you weren't originally Duel Spirits. Then that means your reincarnations." Oz observed.
"I guess that could be used to describe us." Ifrit agreed.
"We haven't been Duel Spirits for long, but we somehow have a vast amount of knowledge of how this world works." Phoenix explained.
"It's common for that to happen to new Duel Spirits." Oz stated. Now, I have to ask. Are you two willing to accompany me on any journey I take?"
The two spirits share a look.
"I believe that I speak for both of us when I say we'd like to join you." Phoenix said.
Oz smiled.
