Chapter 7

A week would pass. Ryoto has had a new issue to deal with and it keeps sneaking into his bag.

It started the day after the festival. Ryoto went to school as usual and was having his morning lesson with sensei Kashimo. Yet in the middle of the lesson, he heard something ruffling through his bag. Sensei noticed it too before he stared at Ryoto. "I think you were followed," he said rather bluntly.

He sighed and reached for his bag, Ryoto opened it and wasn't that surprised. Megumi was in there and ate half his lunch. "I didn't realize he had moved on to solid food already…" Ryoto said rather discontently. "Sensei, I apologize"

"It's no worry, but please call his father before he wrecks the place."

Ryoto nodded and did just that, taking out his phone he called, but found there was a lack of answer. He tried three other times and finally go through on the fourth attempt.

"Yeah?" came a breathless Toji.

"Uh… I got Megumi with me at school." He began to explain.

"Keep him there, bring him home when you finish school." He said bluntly before hanging up.

Ryoto froze to this. Keep him here… at the school with him… until the end of the day…

Is Toji nuts?!

"Everything okay?"

"Uh… sensei… he can stay in the school, right?" he asked with concern. "I got a hold of his father, but he sounds… busy. And he said I can keep him until the end of the day… is… is this okay?"

He knew this was dangerous, not many people know about dragons and his sensei was freaked out the last time this happened. But. He looked a little more open to the idea and sighed aloud. "I take it you don't have a choice. Your bag wasn't moving when you came into class, and this little guy is going to follow you even if he does get set back home, am I right?"

"Yes,"

"So be it, let's continue then."

It was rather strange to hear his sensei just accept the notion, still he couldn't exactly drop Megumi off and return without worry he is just going to follow him again. Yet as the lesson went on, Ryoto's eyes grew heavy… then…

THUD

He was in a dark world.

"ARE YOU THERE, RYOTO?!"

"Megumi?"

"PLEASE FIND ME!"

"WHAT THE HELL MAN!" Ryoto shouted.

"YOU SAID YOU WOULD HELP ME, YOU HAVEN'T DONE SO IN A WHILE, SO HELP ME!" Megumi snapped back.

Ryoto sighed. "Megumi… I'M IN SCHOOL RIGHT NOW AND YOU KNOCKED ME OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF A LESSON!"

Silence.

He didn't hear anything back from Megumi. "I promise to help you, but you can't do this to me without knowing where the hell I am!"

"I'm… I'm sorry" he heard meekly from the darkness. "I'm just… I need to get out of here."

"I get that, but it's not a good time right now. Just… wait, please."

"So be it"

He woke then and there, but, Ryoto was on the ground, staring up at the ceiling, surrounded by other teachers.

"Oh thank the gods, he woke up" sensei Kashimo said.

"I don't know what to tell you, it wasn't an ailment, and he wasn't harmed. My reverse jujutsu did nothing."

"Thank Kabi, I appreciate the fact you came and tried anyways."

"Uh… where am I?" Ryoto asked as he slowly sat up. Megumi was still braced to his chest as he got back to a vertical base.

"You passed out in class! I thought perhaps you were having an awakening or something. We got a space here in case you do pass out so you are comfortable but safe." Sensei explained. "What happened?"

Ryoto peered at Megumi. "This little guy likes to knock me out every so often… something is going on in his head and I promise to help him figure it out." He explained.

There came a pause in the room. Sensei was concerned now. "Is it serious?"

His head nodded. "Let's say if I don't help him unite mind body and soul… he will reject the body from a twisted mind…"

"He's going to kill himself…" Sensei whispered. "Okay, back to sleep you go!"

"Huh?!"

"This little one need all the help he can get, is that so?" Sensei Kabi asked. Ryoto nodded to him. "He gets priority." He simply stated. "You have your power in check right now, don't you?"

Ryoto nodded to this as well. "I have better control, yes."

"Then focus on the little one, and you will have better control over your power." He explained. "A dragon always returns the favor." Sensei Kabi excused himself and left.

Sensei Kashimo nodded to the words spoke. "Let's see if we can help him out, or this is going to happen often isn't it?"

"Every day,"

"Very well then, come with me."

That was how the week started.

Ever since, Ryoto spends his mornings until Lunch, trying to help Megumi. He knows he is getting closer, and yet he feels as if he can't find him just yet. Perhaps he is missing something?

Either way, after the mediation session, he has lunch and then lessons with sensei. In fact, he has been asked to help with some students struggling with their technique.

"We just acquired four new students a short while ago. Each has difficulty with their technique and need help." He was shown videos of the students, one was a young boy with dark skin, yet, he had a stutter to his speech. "This one in particular, I feel there is something causing this and yet…"

Ryoto watched the video time and time again of this child, when he picked up something odd. "Have you spoken with the family?"

"No, we adopted this one, he was being sold off since he has technique but no way of using it. The family considered him a burden and discarded him for sale. So, we adopted him."

"The family sounds as if they would do anything to get ahead or make a name… Was he a twin?"

This made him pause. "A… twin? Why would you ask that? What relevance…"

"To most families, twins are considered curse since it splits the energy between the two. Making them each half a sorcerer… I wonder if the family went on ahead and did something to ensure one would have a technique…"

Sensei went white in the face as he watched the video again, the boy knows what he wants to say, yet the words get stuck. As if someone else was speaking and he is stopping himself from interrupting them.

"I never considered…"

"If that's the case, I would look into what he is hearing first, go from there on a lesson that can be worked out, he may have another voice going on in his mind, thus why he can't speak."

Sensei paused. "I think this mediation before class is working wonders… by the way…"

"Little progress with him, but we are getting somewhere… I think."

"If anything, if this little dragon has an ability, focus on his ability and see if you can use it to your advantage or assistance."

Use his ability…

WHY DIDN'T HE THINK OF THAT?!

Ryoto was inspired, in fact, he may now have a way of saving Fushiguro! The thing is, he will have to speak to his father when he gets back home. After all, he seems reluctant to be training him in anything at the moment…
