SWIRLING

Chapter Nine

Admiral Nelson had been waiting for Captain Crane to arrive for dinner at the officer's mess. It's been thirty minutes since Crane called to let him know he was on his way for dinner.

Nelson and Commander Chip Morton had been getting worried for the Captain of the Seaview. Since he had not shown up. He asked security to begin a search of the Captain, informing the Chief Medical Officer that there was a good chance that Lee was in trouble from his recent troubles involving the alien lizards.

Doctor Alverez had come into the officer's mess to speak with Admiral Nelson. "Harriman do you think that Captain Crane is somewhere on board the Seaview hiding?" he asked with a serious tone with his question.

Nelson turned to face the doctor to say to him. "Now what do you think Doctor Alverez? That's why I have security in search of him after reading your report on his overall condition.

"Look Harriman, something might have set him off before coming to the Officer's mess?" he said.

"Then what could it be Doctor? I checked with the radio shack on whether or not he had received any messages from stateside to upset him further. He might have had some form of a shock to his mind and body." Nelson responded with his comment.

"Well, in this case, we need to find him quickly before he winds up in a coma." Doctor Alverez tells the Admiral.

Third Level STORAGE ROOM

Laying on the cold floor was Captain Lee Crane in a ball after suffering from a number of his memories from his abduction with the Alien Lizards.

He had left the hatch half open not realizing what he had done before passing out. Meanwhile, 15 minutes later a small group of security officers including Patterson had volunteered.

He had seen the hatchway open and a slight moan. He told the four others to stay back with his small handgun in case of trouble to stand back.

Moving the hatchway opened further. He walked inside with turning on the lights to see the Captain on the ground in a ball and moaning. This is when he asked the others to come inside.

Sergeant Andy Jerome came inside with his own weapon in his hand as he puts it away into his pants pocket for now. He's been with security for the past six years. "What has happened to the Captain, Patterson?" he asked trying to stay calm the best he could.

With a shake of his head. "I don't know Sergeant. We need to get the corpsmen down here to take the Captain to sickbay."

Patterson went to the wall to communicate with Sickbay and advise the Admiral that they had found the Captain.

Admiral Nelson had been at the plotting table when Sparks called him to the radio shack with a message.

Walking his normal pace to the radio shack. "What is it Patterson?" he asked calmly knowing full well that security and Patterson had been searching for the Captain of the Seaview.

"Sir, we have found the Captain. We called Sickbay to bring a stretcher down to the section four storage room." Patterson says.

Nelson looked down at Sparks for a brief moment. "What kind of shape is the Captain in?"

Patterson started to speak with the truth. "From what I can tell the Captain doesn't look all that well. I found him in a ball moaning away, sir. I just hope to god that Doctor Alverez will be able to help the Captain?" he asked calmly waiting for the stretcher to arrive.

Admiral Nelson standing will say to Patterson. "I know Patterson. The Captain hasn't been himself ever since he found out about the mission and the return of the Lizard aliens. Doctor Alverez is an excellent Doctor for when it comes to the mentally ill." He remarked that Patterson understood him without having to say a word.

SICKBAY MEDICAL SECURITY REGION

Captain Lee Crane had been restrained after being found inside the storage room. His behavior has been off keel and Admiral Nelson along with the rest of the Seaview staff. Doctor Alverez already had injected the Captain with a relaxer type of drug, along with a few others to stop the signals entering his brain from the aliens.

Doctor Alverez doesn't know whether the two drugs he had used on Lee Crane will work at all. Since the Seaview had been getting closer and closer to the location of the lost vessels and crew members.

He needed to take an hour's break while letting his other staff doctors keep an eye on the Captain in the security region. There will be around-the-clock security keeping watch with the orders of Admiral Nelson and Commander Chip Morton.

Currently, Commander Morton had come in with the security officers letting him in. He was sitting down next to the Captain's bed with Crane asleep from the drugs given by the doctor. His face was somewhat ashen at the moment making Morton think that it was much worse with his friend Lee Crane.

There was a slight moan coming out of the mouth of the Captain to make Morton jump slightly for the moment.

"Lee, I am so sorry about all this happening to you." Morton silently says in front of him. This mission has turned out to be a nightmare for Crane and the rest of the Seaview. The only good news is the fact that Admiral Nelson's wife Sylvia and her team in Russia had been successful with their environmental science project to be coming home in a few days from Russia.

Even Admiral Nelson really didn't think that Sylvia and the team would be able to complete the project without the Russian government to intervene with stopping it entirely.

Sylvia had asked in a coded message on whether or not Captain Lee Crane will be fine after her husband had advised her of the situation.

Commander Morton had gotten up from his chair after spending some time with his friend by touching his forehead before leaving the security region and heading back to the Control room.
