"Klaus?" Caroline asked after seeing him from where she was spelled to hang. She couldn't believe her eyes. They had promised to stay away from each other that day in the woods, but she couldn't help but be relieved to see him. Being able to do nothing but to be with your own thoughts, makes a girl rethink some things.

"Caroline," the hybrid says stunned. He knew they were going to see her but actually seeing her, especially as she was captured affected him more than he expected.

"Can you help me out of here?" Caroline asked after noticing that he wasn't moving.

Klaus tried to break the chains but unfortunately, they were spelled in a way that even his strength wasn't enough.

"Klaus!" Caroline yelled after finally noticing the witch behind Klaus, but Billie wasn't there to hurt her but to help her, so she dispelled the chains.

Caroline was too weak after being without blood too long. It had been too long even before she was taken since she ate. Klaus took her to his arms and decided to carry her.

"Klaus," Caroline whispered.

"You're safe now," Klaus told her, carrying her out.

In the meanwhile, Freya, Stefan and Bonnie were fighting against Tristan's vampires.

"We did it. We saved Caroline," Bonnie said, relieved as she saw Klaus carrying Caroline towards them. Deep down she knew that they would, but she also was afraid to lose even one more person in her life. Bonnie was so sick of losing people.

"Caroline!" Stefan yelled and took Caroline out of Klaus' arms. Klaus didn't want to pass her to Stefan, but he knew that they were involved now, and he needed to make Tristan pay.

"Klaus?" Caroline asked.

"I'm going to end this. Go with Stefan and we will talk later," Klaus told Caroline, knowing he needed to be the one to avenge what happened to her. He hated that Caroline was in danger because of him and he still hoped that one day she would let him show her the world. Klaus didn't give promises he didn't intend to keep, so when he promised to be Caroline's last love, he meant it.

A vampire tried to stop Klaus from getting to Tristan, so Klaus took out of his heart, took a bite and threw it away, smirking. Caroline knew that she should probably stop him as she believed that there was good in everyone, but she also secretly liked how someone cared enough about her to want to destroy the person who had her kidnapped. In the end she didn't protest as Stefan walked away, with her still in his arms.

Tristan tried not to show that he was a little scared as Klaus walked towards him, clothes full of blood.

"We already killed your minions, and I got the pleasure of killing your little girlfriend," Klaus said, lying just to see Tristan's reaction.

"You think I cared about that witch?" Tristan wondered at loud. Either the years had made Klaus dumber, or love had made him weak.

"You shouldn't have touched Caroline," Klaus told Tristan and not wanting to hear another word from him, he killed Tristan by cutting off his head. Freya watched as her brother killed the vampire and the head rolled in the ground. Klaus didn't care enough about her to do anything about it. Besides, knowing Caroline, she would want him to let her go. Klaus would've killed the witch and her sister if they hadn't walked away while everyone was busy. No one who hurt his future queen would live to tell the tale. Klaus might not go after them as they he didn't see them as a threat anymore, but he would kill them if they ever passed ways again.

Stefan was drinking when Caroline arrived in the room after having some blood, getting a shower and changing her dirty clothes. She had wanted to get clean after finally getting some of her favorite blood in her system.

"Caroline," Stefan said, turning to look at her and Caroline walked closer to him.

"I don't think we should be together, Stefan."

"What are you saying?" Stefan wondered aloud, not understanding where Caroline was coming from. He thought that they had a good relationship. They might have started a little rocky with both of their emotions off, but he liked dating Caroline. She was so understanding and in a way he liked how he wasn't as worried about her as he used to be about Elena. But that must be because while he dated Elena she was always in danger. Right?

"I'm saying we should break up," Caroline said as she sat down in front of Stefan.

"What is this about Caroline?"

"I thought that we were meant to be, you know? Which was crazy because you and Elena were epic," Caroline admitted.

"You used to think? You don't anymore...?"

"I thought I was in love with you but when Klaus rescued me and not you, like you would've Elena when you two were together—I realized that I was just in love with the idea of us. Back when you and Elena were together you put her first above anyone and everything, but I feel like I'm just an afterthought to you and you make me feel like I'm as insecure as I was as a human, again. I hate feeling like that. I refuse to feel like that ever again and I don't feel like I should be with anyone who makes me feel that way. Not after everything I've gone through."

"Do you think you love me the way you loved Elena?" Caroline asked after Stefan kept quiet.

"No. I don't. I want to say that it's different kind of love, but I don't think I'm over Elena. I wanted to be because what kind of person does it make me to still love someone who picked my own brother over me, but you deserve better."

"That's why I think we should break up," Caroline said, sadly smiling but also relieved. "We're better as friends anyways."

Caroline probably should've contacted Klaus and thanked him for saving her but after breaking up with Stefan and being kidnapped she didn't have energy to do anything. She went straight to bed and didn't waked up until Bonnie accidentally woke her up.

"I didn't want to wake you up," Bonnie told her, trying to leave their room without waking up her best friend.

"Too late," Caroline smiled and made room in the bed for her friend. "Come here."

"I've missed you," Bonnie smiled and hugged her friend in the bed.

"I've missed you too, Bonnie," Caroline said, hugging her back. "Thanks for helping to rescue me."

"Caroline, are you OK?" Bonnie asked, worriedly. Caroline tried to hide it, but she seemed a little off.

"What? I'm perfectly fine," Caroline said, trying to be strong. "If you don't count the fact that me and Stefan broke up last night and that I was kidnapped by another psycho."

"At least you're not in a magical coma," Bonnie tried to joke.

"That's true," Caroline smiled, pointing at her friend.

"Are we going to talk about the elephant in the room?" Bonnie asked after a pregnant pause.

"What Elefant?" Caroline asked, trying to avoid what she knew Bonnie meant.

"Klaus. How was it seeing him again?"

Matt Donovan had no idea what had happened to his friend. He was busy in the other side of the town. He was holding a gun with wood bullets in his hands, which he was pointing at someone he heard moving in the woods.

"Who are you?" Matt asked unknown woman, still pointing the gun at them in case they were part of supernatural community. Besides being friends with bunch of supernatural's, he hated them after what happened to Vicki. "Turn around."

The girl slowly turned around and she wasn't a stranger. Instead, it was a face Matt was friends with years before falling in love with her. Matt didn't want to admit it but part of her was still in love with her.

"Elena?" Matt asked stunned. "I thought Lily had you."

Caroline finally texted Klaus to see her at the park.

"Klaus," Caroline said kindly as she walked towards the bench he was sitting at.

"Why did you ask me to come here, love?" Klaus wondered. Klaus deeply cared for this baby vampire, but he had planned to leave the town again this morning to keep the promise he made her. She would come for him after she finally accepted what he had to offer for her.

"I wanted to thank you for saving me yesterday and for—not letting me down," Caroline finally admitted.

"I'll always be there for you, Caroline," Klaus told her after standing. "Never doubt that. You just need to say the word."

"And what if I told you that I'm ready to give you a chance? That I was finally honest with you and was ready to go with you to New Orleans? Would I be too late?"

"It's never too late," Klaus smirked. "I'll always wait for you. However long it takes."

"Promise?" Caroline asked, coming even closer to him, close enough that he could feel her breathing against him.

"I promise," Klaus told him.

"Good," Was all Caroline said before she finally kissed him on the lips.

"You're coming with us?" Klaus asked, too scared to hope.

"I am," Caroline smiled and then Klaus kissed her. Caroline tugged his hair as he was kissing her.

Stefan and Damon were planning how to get Elena back from Lily when they heard a door opening.

"Missed me?" A brunette girl Freya had never met asked.

"You and I haven't met," the girl stated, looking at Freya.

"Who are you?" Freya asked the girl, wondering if the girl was a friend or foe.

"Katherine," Damon basically spats. "How are you back?"
