No-One But You (The Star Child's Eclipse)
Chapter 2: Sofia (Part 2)
…
"I brought you something, Mr. Stark."
…
Sofia Strange had a big smile, and she happily floated around the enormous workspace that belonged to a man named Tony Stark.
If you've been following along the storyline of "Strange," then you'd know that Tony was the first person that Sofia's ever encountered.
By technicality, Stark raised Sofia until she was five years old, and he actually introduced her to her parents, Clea and Stephen.
…
That was ancient history now, but the "Mr. Stark" thing was a new development. Now, what was that about? Tony wondered.
Sofia showed up sometimes when Tony was working, so he looked up at her and smiled. She brought him something? Oh, do tell.
…
"Mr. Stark makes me feel old as dirt. Did your adorable father tell you to call me that?"
…
"Yes. He did. He also said you'd love the gesture."
….
LOL. Friggen Stephen. Tony took a moment to truly enjoy what was said, then he gave an interested look at what Sofia was hiding in her hands.
She was floating way way up toward the ceiling, and she was circling around Tony's workspace like a cute little pixie. The "Tinker bell Princess" had taken a new form.
That's the nickname Tony gave her mother Clea, if you recall, but now he barely saw the ruler of the Dark. Clea was missing in action quite often, but not Sofia.
Stephen's little girl couldn't keep still, and she had a rebellious nature… just like her father.
…
"What'cha hiding there kid? You know I'm an impatient person."
…
Tony also didn't like surprises. He was currently inspecting a "surprise" that he had to deal with months ago. There was a mini-breakthrough with one of his scans of Ezekiel Stane's tech, and that's the only reason why he showed up at his lab that day.
He had other plans with some blonde hottie, but all of that was put on hold, for now.
…
"Here you go. I found this today, by the stairs at the Sanctorum. My father was talking to someone when I saw it, then I came straight here…"
…
Sofia floated down toward the table, but she took a moment to inspect what "Mr. Stark" was looking at before she fully approached Tony. She recognized the chunk of metal from something that took place a while ago.
That metal belonged to a man known as Doctor Doom, so Sofia pondered Tony's project. A great deal of damage was done to Doctor Doom, and it seemed like everyone was at odds about it.
Before she left the Sanctorum, her father was conversing with someone about the man himself. He spoke of Victor Von Doom many times…
…
Sofia eventually showed Tony what she found by the stairs, and she held a look that was a bit mischievous. Tony smiled at her smile, then his eyes focused on what she brought.
Hmm. Sofia Strange's tiny hand was holding onto something that looked like some sort of… bot. A techno bot, of sorts, and yes Tony took it from her baby hand immediately.
…
"You've successfully located a Doom bot, and this one isn't sneaking away. Hello in there… jackass."
…
Tony playfully waved to the small contraption that he held in his hand, and Sofia started inspecting it from a different angle. A, Doom bot? Doctor Doom's name seemed to enter the space once again.
…
"This actually helps me a lot Sofia. Keep an eye out for these, and keep bringing them to me as soon as you see them."
…
Tony smiled at Stephen and Clea's little "Star Child" once again, then he ran a scan over her precious little gift.
Victor Von Doom had been snooping around for months. His tech would disappear whenever Tony caught wind of it, but now the inventor managed to get his hands on some of that tech.
So now, it was time to out snoop the snoop, or whatever…
