Sabaku no Kitsune: Chapter 53
With Naruto and Gaara
Naruto slashed at Tenzo with his gauntlet blade and Tenzo ducked back as the the blade passed him; Tenzo countered by swinging his wooden axe at Naruto's head. Naruto reached out and grabbed the axe by the handle stopping it from hitting him.
Tenzo raised his leg and sent a powerful kick towards Naruto's chest knocking him back a few feet before turning around and seeing Gaara approach; Gaara sent an arm made of sand towards Tenzo and Tenzo threw his axes to the ground and formed a hand sign.
Several wood spikes shot out of the ground and made their way towards Gaara and Tenzo grabbed his axes as his jutsu went towards Gaara.
Gaara's sand arm was hit my multiple wood spikes and stopping his attack as the spikes continued towards him; Gaara pulled his arm out of the sand and jumped into the air as the spikes continued to shoot out of the ground.
While Gaara was in the air Tenzo jumped towards him and and swung his axes towards him; Gaara seeing this brought his sand up to stop the axes before they could hit him. Gaara launched the sand he used to block the axes towards Tenzo hitting him in the chest and sending him back down onto the top of the wall.
Gaara while in the air formed a platform with his sand before forming several dozen sand shuriken and launching them towards Tenzo. Tenzo got back up and jumped back avoiding the sand shuriken only to get hit from behind by a wind jutsu.
Naruto using his small fam launched a 'wind sickle' towards Tenzo hitting him in the back and leaving a large gash; Naruto smiled as his jutsu hit and launched another one towards Tenzo.
Tenzo spun around and saw another wind blade coming towards him and made a hand sign "Wood Style: Wood wall" Tenzo said as he slammed his hands onto the ground and a wall of wood appeared and took the hit. Tenzo then made another hand sign and spoke "Wood spikes" he said as he touched the wall and the wall began to morph.
Dozens of sharp wood spikes appeared on the wall and Tenzo made one final hand sign; the wall launched itself out of the ground and went towards Naruto. Naruto went wide eyed and shouted as the defensive wall became an offensive projectile.
"OH FUCK" Naruto shouted as he held out his right hand and made a rasengan; Naruto charged forwards and thrusted his rasengan forward. Naruto's rasengan hit the flying wall and drilled it's way through breaking through the other side.
Upon breaking out of the other side Naruto saw Tenzo in front of him and saw him swinging an axe down towards his head; Naruto with his arm already outstretched raised his arm to protect himself. Tenzo's axe hit Naruto in the forearm with the edge of the wood axe breaking both bones in his arm but not cutting through the skin.
Naruto screamed as a fiery pain shot up his arm before Tenzo sent a second swing with his other axe towards Naruto; Naruto raised his left arm and the axe hit his gauntlet protecting his arm.
Tenzo sent a kick towards Naruto sending him flying back before skidding to a halt; Tenzo was about to rush over and take out Naruto but was stopped when a wave of sand rushed towards him. Tenzo jumped off the side of the wall before making a hand sign creating a wood platform that shot out of the wall for him to land on.
Gaara seeing Naruto get hit decided to take on Tenzo alone while Naruto recovered; Gaara still on his platform flew through the air in order to engage Tenzo.
"Fuuuck" Naruto groaned as he looked at his broken arm as it was hung loosely with only the skin keeping it in place.
"Quit whining and get off your ass boy" Kurama said inside Naruto's mind "You have to defeat that man like our lives depend on it, because they do."
"Oh shut up Kurama" Naruto shouted "my arm is mess up and-"; the next second red chakra went to Naruto's arm and wrapped around the broken limb. With a fast jerk and some cracking sound Naruto's arm was popped back into place making him go wide eyed and shout "HOLY FUCK THAT HURT" Naruto shouted as Kurama 'fixed' his arm.
"Shut up boy; that'll hold your arm until the battle is over" Kurama said "if you don't beat that man you're going to have more problems than a broken arm"
"Big red asshole" Naruto said as he got back up and flexed his broken arm and was able to move his wrist and fingers "at least my arm didn't get chopped off; I can't image living without my arm". Naruto reached behind himself and grabbed his big fan and took a deep breath "alright Naruto, time to kick some ass" he said before jumping off and hopping on top of his fan using it like a surfboard to glide through the air.
With Kurumi and Obito
Obito and Kurumi both have been fighting Hiashi and his group of Hyuga for the past several minutes and so far has killed a quarter of the
Kurumi swung her Susanoo's sword towards a Hyuga ninja; the Hyuga seeing this began to spun around rapidly in order to launch his defense by creating a dome of chakra and around him. They Hyuga used the 'Eight Trigram Palm Rotation' expecting that the Hyuga's most powerful defense would protect him from the oncoming attack.
Kurumi's Susanoo's sword cut through the dome of chakra like a hot knife through butter, killing the Hyuga by slicing him in half; Kurumi seeing this cursed in her mind as she saw this battle as completely pointless.
As this happened Kurumi's Susanoo was hit in the side by several wind jutsu and Kurumi turned and saw where the jutsu originated; there were a total of ten Hyuga firing rapid volleys of 'Vacuum palms'.
Kurumi spun around and swung her sword toward the group of Hyuga; five of the Hyuga jumped away just in time to avoid the attack but the others were not so lucky as they were bisected.
"Just leave damn it; you don't have to die here" Kurumi shouted to no avail as more and more Hyuga attacked her 'dumb bastards'.
As Kurumi fought the majority of the Hyuga, Obito was fighting Hiashi and several other Hyuga; unlike the Hyuga that Kurumi was fighting these were not old people or kids, they were the Hyuga's most experienced shinobi.
Obito blocked a palm strike from a Hyuga and grabbed his arm before performing a judo throw; Obito slammed the man onto the ground and raised his foot in an attempt to stomp on his head.
Before his foot could could make contact the Hyuga used his arm to block the stomp before throwing Obito off; Obito jumped back and Hiashi along with another Hyuga rushed forward. The Hyuga threw a series of palm strikes towards Obito who used his Kamui to phase through the attacks and get behind the Hyuga; Obito grabbed the Hyuga from behind by his long hair and pulled out a kunai.
Obito pulled the Hyuga's hair back and sent a stable to the base of the Hyuga's skull severing the brain stem and killing him; Obito barely pulled out the kunai when Hiashi came up behind him launching his attack.
Hiashi struck twice at Obito who activated his Kamui again and Hiashi's first strike phased through him; however his second strike hit Obito in the left side as his Kamui wasn't fast enough. Obito felt the pain of the strike but thankfully it did not shut down any of his chakra points.
Obito retaliated with a slash towards Hiashi's throat but Hiashi ducked under the attack; Obito followed up with a kick aiming it towards Hiashi's head. Hiashi brought up his arm to block the kick from hitting his head; Hiashi braced himself for the shock of the hit but instead saw the leg phase through his arm.
Obito used his Kamui to phase his leg through Hiashi's defenses and just as it neared he canceled it; Obito kicked Hiashi in the head knocking him to the side and dazing him. Obito seeing his attack was successful went through hand signs.
'Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu' Obito fired a large fire ball towards Hiashi and Hiashi saw this and got back up; Hiashi began to spin around forming a large chakra dome around him.
'Eight Trigram Palm Rotation'; Hiashi's chakra dome protected him from the fireball as the jutsu collided and dispelled. Hiashi slowed down and came to a stop looking at Obito as five other Hyuga clansmen came over and stood by him.
Obito gripped his kunai and grunted in annoyance; the Hyuga were dropping like flies but they were not giving up.
'Damn it; are they really so stupid that they'd all rather die then give up' Obito thought gritting his teeth 'idiots'. Obito looked at Hiashi and spoke "Hiashi, is this really what you want?" Obito asked "you're clan is dying for nothing, just give up".
"The Hyuga clan is the mightiest clan in Konoha" Hiashi said "we will not surrender; death is preferable than to living in disgrace".
"You want to die so badly?" Obito said "Fine, just remember this; when this war is over the Hyuga clan will be remember right along with the Uchiha". "A clan who got massacred in a single night; only you're clan will be killed through stupidity instead of treachery" Obito said and Hiashi scowled.
"Damn barbarian" Hiashi said "kill him"; Hiashi and his five clansmen charged towards Obito who got into a defensive stance as his battle continued.
With Naruto and Gaara
Naruto glided through the air on his fan as he went down to where Tenzo was on the side of the wall standing on his wooden ledge; Naruto was about 40 yards away from Tenzo before he grabbed his fan and spun around in the air.
Naruto charged the fan with chakra and shouted "WIND SCYTHE JUTSU" Naruto shouted as he launched a powerful wind jutsu at Tenzo who was on the wall; this had a secondary effect as the wind pushed Naruto back up into the air and he remounted his fan.
Tenzo seeing the wind jutsu jumped from his wooden platform as the wind jutsu collided with the wall; Tenzo made a hand sign as he fell a few dozen feet and another wooden platform was made. Tenzo landed and began to go through hand signs again "Earth Style: Twin Earth Dragons"; Tenzo spun around and slammed his hands on the wall behind him.
The heads of two earth dragons appeared on the wall and opened their mouths and looked at Naruto and Gaara; Naruto and Gaara went wide eyed at this.
'Oh shit' Naruto thought.
'This cannot be good' Gaara thought.
Tenzo made a hand sign for a fire jutsu and the two dragons began their attacks; both of the earth dragons began to fire 2 massive volleys of flaming mud balls at Naruto and Gaara.
"Oh hell" Naruto shouted; Naruto was still on his fan gliding through the air and he was still very high off the ground and had no where to land. Naruto in a panic grabbed both of his smaller fans and began to fire wind sickles at the oncoming flaming mud balls; Naruto began to shoot the flaming mud balls out of the air while dodging the ones he couldn't.
Gaara however simply raised his hands and used his sand to for a shield in front of him as the mud bullets flew towards him; the mud bullets began to hit the sand shield and two things happened. First mud splattered along the shield both mixing in with the sand and spreading the fire; second the fire began to heat up the sand turning it into glass.
Tenzo seeing this made a hand sign and spoke 'Wood Style: Flying Splinters'; Tenzo slammed his hand on the wall and a dozen wood splinters shot out towards Gaara.
Gaara kept his sand shield up the entire time as the flaming mud bullets died down after about 30 seconds; Gaara was about to lower his hands when on the outside he heard an impact and not even half a second later something shot through Gaara's shield.
A wood splinter about the size of a kunai punched through the shield and hit Gaara in his left hand impaling it; Gaara winced in pain and heard another impact and ducked down just in time for another one to fly through right where his head was. One final splinter made it through and ended up hitting Gaara in his right thigh making him fall to a knee.
Gaara grunted in pain as he reached up and pulled out the wooden splinter from his hand before getting ready for an attack; Gaara made a hand sign and shouted "Sand Shuriken". Gaara crushed his sand shield and formed it into sand shuriken and launched them towards Tenzo.
Tenzo seeing the volley of sand shuriken coming towards him went through hand signs "Earth Style: Earth Dome"; Tenzo used the earth from the wall to create a earth dome to protect him from the shuriken as they collided outside his defenses.
Gaara's sand shuriken bombarded the earth dome until he realized there was little damage being done; Gaara twisted his hand and turned all his sand shuriken into a giant sand tendril and began to use it to bash against the dome Tenzo was hiding behind.
"Gaara are you ok?" Naruto shouted as he glided over on his fan; Naruto grabbed his fan and jumped onto Gaara's sand platform "oh damn your hand".
"Don't worry about that" Gaara said as he continued to bash against the earth dome "he is hiding behind his defenses; we need to get him out from there so we can kill him". Naruto nodded as he looked at the dome and had a bright idea.
"I have a way to get him out" Naruto said as he bit his thumb and began to go through hand signs.
Tenzo was keeping up his earth dome as he was trying to figure out a way to counter Gaara and Naruto's attacks; his wood style was good at medium range but he had only a few long range attacks. Tenzo had several earth style jutsu he could use but first he needed to get out from behind his cover; he decided to use an earth movement jutsu in order to go over to another area while Gaara continued pounding his defenses.
Tenzo was about to go through hand signs when he heard a loud shout "SUMMONING JUTSU: BRING DOWN THE HOUSE" came the voice of Naruto.
"Bring down the what?" Tenzo said before there was a rumbling and crashing sound and everything began to shake.
Naruto was on top of the now fully grown Gamakichi; Gamakichi was now only a few dozen feet shorter than his father Gamabunta but was still impressive due to his sheer size. He picked up his fathers habit of smoking as a cigarette hung from his mouth and he now had a guard less sword.
The massive toad slammed down on the large earth wall breaking it by using all of his weight and Naruto started laughing "Hahahaha; I knew I could rely on you Gamakichi" he said.
"Anything for you Naruto; as long as I get those snacks you promised" Gamakichi said as he continued to smash the wall.
Tenzo had no choice but to jump off the wall in order to escape the collapsing rubble and the giant toad descending on him; Gaara seeing his chance sent his sand towards Tenzo while he was in mid air.
Tenzo spun around but was suddenly hit by a tendril of sand and sent flying towards the ground; Tenzo smacked into the ground coughing up cloud as his ribs, skull and spine broke and several organs ruptured.
Gaara quickly used his sand to cover Tenzo and a large area as he descended down; Gaara landed on the ground and raised his hands into the air "Sand coffin" Gaara said before he slammed his hands onto the ground. "Crushing Sand Funeral" Gaara shouted.
The sand covering Tenzo immediately compressed and compacted the ground giving it a shake as it crushed everything underneath; Gaara got back up huffing as Gamakichi landed on the ground shaking the earth and Naruto hopped off his head and landed next to Gaara.
"Is he dead?" Naruto asked and Gaara without saying a word moved his sand; Naruto and Gaara both went wide eyed at what they saw. There was a small dome of wood covering the top half of Tenzo that was splintered and crushed as he tried in vain to not be killed by the sand.
Tenzo's lower half was gone along with his left arm but he was still barely alive "Hold shit" Naruto said as he looked at Gaara "you want to put him down or me?"
"I will do it" Gaara said "may I have a kunai?"; Naruto didn't hesitate to give Gaara a kunai and Gaara walked over to Tenzo and stood over him. Gaara kneeled down next to Tenzo and spoke "any last words?" Gaara asked.
"B-burn me" Tenzo said "I-I don't…want anyone to gain my c-cells".
Gaara looked at Naruto who nodded "very well" Gaara said as he raised the kunai and came down; Gaara stabbed Tenzo in the chest piercing his heart and killing him instantly. Gaara left the kunai in his chest and walked away and Naruto followed him until they reached Gamakichi's feet.
"Hey Gamakichi; mind burning him?" Naruto asked and the toad nodded.
"Sure" Gamakichi said as he made a hand sign "Fire Style: Flame Bullet"; Gamakichi fired a ball of fire at the corpse of Tenzo igniting him.
Naruto and Gaara looked on "damn shame, he didn't seem like a bad guy" Naruto said and Gaara looked at him "if we weren't on opposite sides we could've hung out".
"Maybe" Gaara said; Gaara looked around and saw his Suna ninja were mopping up the resistance "seems the other battle is over".
"Yeah, it does" Naruto said as he looked at all the dead bodies littering the floor and felt sadness "what a waste of life". Gaara nodded at this and patted Naruto's shoulder.
Naruto and Gaara both deactivated their Biju modes and immediately upon doing so there was a gross flopping noise; Naruto looked down and saw his arm was still broken, his Kyuubi cloak and Kurama's chakra only held him together.
"OH FUCK THE PAIN IS BACK" Naruto shouted as he grabbed his arm.
Gaara looked on wide eyed as Naruto's arm hung down at a 90 degree angle showing that both bones in his forearm were broken. Gaara around in a mild panic "MEDIC" he shouted.
With Kurumi and Obito
Kurumi was no longer in her Susanoo as she was not fighting with her sword against the Hyuga; Kurumi so far has killed nearly 100 of the 200 Hyuga who came with Hiashi to kill them.
The Hyuga learned how to avoid Kurumi's Susanoo and it's attacks; so now Kurumi had to fight them the old fashioned way. A Hyuga thrusted a juken strike towards Kurumi who dodged to the side and swung her sword down; Kurumi cut off the Hyuga's hand making him scream in pain before she sent another slash towards his stomach bisecting him.
Another Hyuga came up behind Kurumi and sent a flurry of juken strikes towards her chest; Kurumi spun around and used one of her arms to block the attack knocking it away before sweep kicking the Hyuga woman. The Hyuga woman hit the ground and Kurumi sent a stab down towards her hitting her heart and killing her.
Kurumi looked to her side and saw a group of 10 or so Hyuga standing close together too afraid to attack; they seemed young and unsure, showing their lack of experience. Kurumi turned towards them and went through hand signs.
"Fire Style: Fire ball jutsu" Kurumi fired a massive fire ball towards the group of Hyuga hitting them and setting them on fire; Kurumi winced as listened their cries of agony as they flailed around. Kurumi shook her head and grabbed her sword as more Hyuga charged towards her.
Obito used his Kamui to phase through another juken strike from one of the Hyuga that was assisting Hiashi; Obito undid his Kamui and grabbed the Hyuga's arm and did a judo throw slamming him onto the ground.
Obito raised his foot and proceeded to slam his foot down onto the Hyuga skull cracking it and killing him; Obito let go of the Hyuga as he turned around and saw Hiashi and his 4 remaining men rushing towards him.
Obito went through hand signs and sucked in a deep breath 'Fire Style: Phoenix flower Jutsu'; Obito fired a dozen small fire balls towards Hiashi and the Hyuga. Hiashi and 3 of his Hyuga avoided the oncoming fireballs but one was not so fortunate as he was hit by two fire balls and killed.
Obito got into a defensive stance and took out a kunai as the first Hyuga threw a flurry of Juken strikes at Obito; Obito used his Kamui to phase through the strikes before canceling it and sending a slash at the Hyuga who ducked out of the way.
A second Hyuga attacked Obito throwing a strike with his left hand and Obito ducked to his right before and sent a stab to the Hyuga; Obito stabbed the Hyuga under his left armpit hitting his heart. Before he could pull out the kunai the third Hyuga charged in and the first one came back and they both attacked them at the same time.
Obito quickly used his Kamui to phase through their attacks; Obito jumped back a little and took out some shuriken and threw them at the Hyuga who were only a few feet away. Both Hyuga dodged the shuriken and Obito looked at one and closed his good eye so that his EMS was the only one open.
"Amaterasu" Obito said as the Hyuga he was looking at was set alight by black flames; Obito then changed towards the last Hyuga and threw a punch at him while he was distracted by his burning comrade.
Obito punched the Hyuga in the face knocking his head to the side before hooking his other arm around his neck and used his other hand to grab his wrist; Obito then jerked the man backwards with so much force that he broke his neck killing him.
Suddenly Obito was hit in the side by a wall of air as Hiashi used a 'Vaccum Palm" to attack him; Obito flew through the air before landing and Hiashi rushed forward.
Obito now on his feet saw Hiashi rushing towards him and got into a taijutsu stance; Hiashi began to throw a series of punches and kicks towards Obito who began to block the attacks instead of phasing through.
Obito blocked a Juken strike and countered with a punch towards Hiashi who blocked the attack and sent a kick towards Obito; Obito used his Kamui to phase through and Hiashi's leg went through him. Obito canceled his Kamui as Hiashi's back was too him and attacked.
Hiashi however was not deterred as he went with the spin and sent a second spin kick towards Obito hitting him across the face as Obito was not fast enough to activate his Kamui. Obito's head was knocked to the side and Hiashi rushed in to deliver a death blow while Obito was stunned.
Obito quickly recovered and used his Kamui once more and Hiashi's arm went through him and Obito grabbed it; Obito used the palm of his hand to attack Hiashi's elbow hitting it and breaking it making Hiashi shout in pain. Obito kicked Hiashi in the ribs knocking him a few feet back and took out a kunai before rushing in.
Hiashi saw Obito coming towards him and put up his only remaining arm to defend himself; Obito slashed at Hiashi who ducked back and countered with a palm strike. Obito dodged and slashed at Hiashi's leg cutting him on the thigh; Hiashi winced as he spun around and sent another blow.
Obito dodged this one and got behind Hiashi and slashed at his back cutting his muscles and severing his spine; Hiashi fell forward and hit the ground and turned over only to see Obito standing there not attacking.
"What are you doing?" Hiashi said as he glared at Obito "kill me you coward".
Obito looked at him and "no, I have a better idea" Obito said as he grabbed Hiashi and activated his Kamui and disappeared in a vortex.
In the Kamui Void
Obito and Hiashi appeared in his Kamui's void which was completely devious of any life; Obito dropped Hiashi on the top of one of the many pillars in the endless expanse.
"What is this place?" Hiashi asked wide eyed.
"Your new home" Obito said as he turned around and began to walk away; Obito then saw a scorch mark and what looked like the remains of someone or something "hey look on the bright side; Zetsu here can keep you company" Obito said as he created a vortex as Hiashi looked at him in fear. 'I wonder how he got set on fire?' Obito thought as he vanished leaving Hiashi in the void crippled and alone.
"N-no" Hiashi said as he began to look around in a panic "h-help, HELP!"
Back in the real world
A vortex appeared and Obito stepped out and was back to where he started; he turned and saw Kurumi kneeling on the ground surrounded by well over 150 dead bodies.
"Hey pumpkin" Obito said walking over as he looked around "where are the others?"
Kurumi looked at him and she spoke "they cut and ran as soon as you vanished with that Hiashi bastard" Kurumi said breathing hard "so what do we do now?"
Obito looked around and spoke "look through the bodies for intel" he said "then we go and retake that supply depot".
Kurumi nodded, got back up and put away her sword "Ok… I just hope Naruto and the others had an easier time than us" Kurumi said as she got up to help her father move and check the bodies.
East of Kurumi and Obito; At the Supply Depot: With Shikamaru
Shikamaru and his unit were still holding onto their objective the supply depot as units to the west were still in contact with the enemy; Shikamaru was with his radio operators when someone ran up.
"Commander Nara; it's urgent" the Root ninja said in a panic "Lord Hiashi, Inoichi and Choza are dead along with commanders Tenzo, Fuu and Torune".
Shikamaru looked at him in alarm "what about my father?" he asked and the ninja spoke.
"We found him heavily wounded but alive" the ninja said "all other attacks have failed to meet their objectives; you are the only one who did, the other units have suffered sixty percent casualties".
"Damn it" Shikamaru cursed as he hit the table that was holding the radio equipment 'I can't hold onto this place with my current strength; and with our other forces decimated we can expect enemy reinforcements at any moment'. "FUCK!" Shikamaru shouted before taking a deep breath and picking up a radios microphone and speaking into it "this is commander Nara; all surviving units fall back to your staging areas, leave all wounded and dead behind".
Shikamaru put down the microphone and looked around and found his second in command "Kama" Shikamaru shouted and she ran over.
"Yes sir?" Kama said as she stood at attention.
"Evacuate the area; leave no intel" Shikamaru said as he walked away.
"Yes sir, right away" Kama said before she turned around and spoke in a loud voice "pack up your shit and all necessary equipment immediately; we are falling back". All ninja operating the equipment began shutting them off and packing up everything they can carry and destroying everything else.
Shikamaru walked down the road as he passed wounded root and Konoha ninja with a scowl on his face 'Lord Danzo is going to be pissed about this' he thought as him and his unit prepared to retreat back into their territory.
