Mist gathered around, thick and potent, filling the space around Gato's base in the far north of Wave. Forty men lay in wait around the base, twenty on the roof, twenty on the ground. Many had swords, some had cross bows, and several had clubs. It was, to anyone but a ninja or a samurai, a frightening experience to witness such potential for violence, even as the Mist covered up it all.

Mika, Kakashi and Shin each waited in a tree, malice oozing from the younger two in waves. Kakashi just sighed, wondering where his own malice was. "We go in and out, no playing around, no torture. Kill them all, fast." Mika nodded, as did Shin. "Good... I'll go high, you go low... now... go!"

Mika and Shin lept down first, aiming for those below. Kakashi made swift work of his foes, snapping next and spines with kicks and punches. It was an easy matter, he was used to fighting Gai after all. They did not know, due to the mist, that they were even nearing their own deaths. It was kind of pathetic to be honest.

Turning to the ground, where the Mist was thickest, he waited for about two minutes before Mika was up in his space with Shin. Mika tanto and Shin's claws covered in blood. Shin licked it off though, in a rather sadistic way.

"What's next?"

"I sense people inside, can you kill when not covered by Mist?"

Mika's cold gaze made his answer apparent.

:::

Mika dived into Gato's base's second floor, blade held fast. He ended his first life by stabbing through his heart. Leaping past him, he snapped his friend's neck with a swift kick to the head. Three senbon to the eyes killed the last three on the top floor, all while Kakashi ended the last. Shin kept a nose out the entire time, making sure no one else was nearby.

'Bad man, Gato... smell him.'

Mika nodded. "Gato's in there."

"Care to do the honors?" Only Kakashi was cold, his eye worn and weary.

Mika smirked, killing intent oozing from his body. He carefully opened Gato's door, walked over to the man... and stabbed his leg with a senbon. Gato shot up, screeching. Mika relished in the sound, it tickled him. "Can you bring back the people of Wave?""

The man, eyes clearing, snarled. "My men will tear you apart!"

"They're dead, all of them." Mika smiled, his face feeling soft, his heart hallow. "Now, if you cannot heal Wave... I am afraid it's time to have some fun." One Hell's viewing later, and the man was flailing, eyes wide with terror. After ending it, Mika felt a box behind his eyes shatter, it was not enough given what he saw in wave. In seconds he crushed the man's fingers, toes, wrists and ankles. His senbon punctured the man's arms and legs.

Mika finally ended it all by wrapping his hands around Gato's throat and squeezed, squeezed... until the room echoed with a loud crack and the man lay dead in Mika's hands.

"Well, that was satisfying." He turned to Kakashi, who looked at him grimly.

"You shouldn't enjoy that so much."

"Only with monsters do I feel that way."

The Jonin just sighed. "Fine, just keep that in mind. Now, let's get his body to town and... get someone to get the supplies from here."

"Naruto and the clones you mentioned he could make. I'll organize them into something useful."

;;;

Kakashi could not help but wonder what had happened to Mika to make him so callous, cold and vile. Willing to do such torture of another, no matter how much it was deserved... it was not a normal trait. He needed to look into this...

Or at least point it out to Ibiki...

:

The people of Wave rejoiced as Mika presented the head of Gato around. They spread the supplies and Mika helped organize healing tents and offices to patch up the people of Wave. It was a glorious time to be in Wave. Days passed and the other members of Team Seven passed the Tree climbing exercise and were sent to the bridge. Mika found he didn't care, he was too busy helping the people of Wave and being useful.

All seemed well, until a dark, terrifying chakra filled the air and he knew that he had to hurry to the bridge.

With that, he bolted, past the stupefied members of Wave who were shaking at the power they all felt.
