AN: I do not own Code Geass
DarkDremora: No, I agree with your criticisms. I wanted the Naoto and Ms. Kozuki conversation to be a bit deeper, but I didn't really have a vision for how it would play out. As for Lelouch being a bit OOC, I might go back and change it later, as while I was writing it, I also felt like it was a bit forced.
Xx-Pistolgun: I'm glad you liked the last chapter.
Komod0-Sensei: I think that would be an interesting conversation Lelouch and Cornelia could possibly have.
Chapter 28: His Name is Zero
"They're not going to kill Suzaku, are they?" Nunally asked as Lelouch tucked her into bed.
"Like I said before, I'm sure it's just one big misunderstanding. Suzaku's gonna be all right." the Prince responded while patting his sister's head, "Now, it's time to go to sleep."
"Alright. Good night, Lelouch."
"Good night, Nunally."
The raven-haired boy left his little sister's room, and returned to his own, where Kallen was kicking her feet while laying stomach-first on his bed, "So… what're we going to do?"
"About what?"
"Don't play dumb," as the boy joined her on the bed, she snaked her arms around his stomach, "Your friend, Suzaku. What're we going to do about him?"
"We're going to save him."
"Well…saving the guy who killed Prince Clovis sure is going to draw a lot of attention to us." of course, she knew Lelouch was the one who killed the blond Prince, but she needed confirmation.
"He didn't kill him. I did."
There it was. "I had a feeling that was the case. After all, you didn't seem too surprised by the announcement."
"Neither did you."
Kallen shrugged, "Anyway, what's in the drawer?" she changed the subject, while pointing at the boy's desk.
"You want to see?" he got up, escaping the red head's grasp just as she was about to pull him toward her. Lelouch opened the drawer to his desk and pulled out a notebook, where he flipped to a page while walking back, "This is what I'm planning on wearing from now on." it was the Zero outfit. "I've decided to call myself Zero."
"Zero… huh?" Kallen grabbed the notebook and rolled onto her back, "It's pretty cool… so, I'm assuming you want me to call you Zero when we're with the resistance?"
"That would be greatly appreciated." the Prince responded while taking back the notebook.
"Where'd you get the idea for the outfit?"
"I saw it in a vision."
"A vision?" this got the red head's attention, "What was it?"
"I had it while getting my Geass. In the vision, I was sitting in some sort of Knightmare frame wearing this outfit."
While Kallen appeared calm on the outside, internally, she was screaming, "This isn't good! If Lelouch gets his memories back, what'll happen then? Will he hate me? I may have befriended this Lelouch, but…" she tightly wrapped her arms around her boyfriend, "if he gets his memories, then I'll lose him for sure…"
"Kallen? Are you okay?" the Prince asked as he felt her hold tighten.
"Lelouch… I know it's a stupid question, but… what do you think those visions mean?"
The Prince shrugged, "It's not that much of a stupid question. Though, I don't really know what they mean…" he stroked her head gently, "Maybe they're premonitions of the future… or perhaps they're nothing, and I'm just overthinking it."
"But what if they are premonitions?" she looked at her boyfriend with puppy dog eyes, almost like she was seeking for a specific answer.
"Well… if they were, then they'd be extremely useful, though, they'd also be quite worrisome at the same time." his mind flashed to the image of him getting stabbed "Especially that last one…" he shook his head, "However, I doubt that they're real."
"But what if they were real?"
Her persistance on the topic made Lelouch curious, "Why're you so concerned with them?" his face loomed close to hers, "Are you… worried about me?"
"Of course I am!" Kallen shouted, "What if those visions are real… what if those aren't good premonitions… what if…" the memory of the Black Knight's confronting Zero on the Ikaruga flashed through her mind, "What if you saw something you didn't like?"
This was clearly something that bothered the red head. But for what reason, Lelouch didn't know. Despite his lack of knowledge, the Prince knew he had to resolve this problem now, "If I saw something I didn't like… then I'd simply change the future." he cupped Kallen's face in his hand, "Especially if it was something that involved you getting hurt."
Kallen's face turned a deep red, "S-shut up," she responded while ramming her head into her boyfriends stomach, causing him to fall back-first onto the bed, "I'm going to sleep now. Goodnight." her muffled voice said.
Lelouch chuckled at the sight, and whispered into her ear, "I hope you know burying your face in my chest isn't going to change my answer."
"Go to sleep!" the red head shouted while placing her hand on her boyfriends face, "And turn off the light while you're at it."
The Prince chuckled, and leaned over to his lamp, turning it off.
As they sat in silence, the red head muttered, "Will you tell Naoto?"
"Of what? My visions? I doubt they're something he'd be interested in… unless I see something involving you."
"Not about that. I mean, your Geass."
"Oh… I suppose when the time's right."
"But when will that be?" Kallen looked Lelouch in the eyes.
"How about… after we save Suzaku?"
Her eyes narrowed in doubt, not doubt at their ability to save Suzaku, but doubt at the fact Lelouch is going to tell Naoto he has a Geass. However, he needed to tell her brother about his Geass, otherwise, he might start to distrust the Prince, "Promise me you will."
Lelouch smiled, "I promise."
"Good." the red head buried her face back into his chest, "You better not be lying."
December 22nd
A punch knocked Suzaku out of his metal chair in an interrogation room, where Kewell and another random Britannian officer were, "Admit it Kururugi, we found your fingerprints on this gun," Sorosei placed a plastic bag containing a pistol on the table, "We know you're the one who killed Prince Clovis. If you admit to it now, we'll make your death quick."
"But it wasn't me!" the honorary Britannian argued while forcefully getting put back on the chair by the other guard, "You've made a mistake!"
"Stubborn to the end, eh?" Kewell sent another punch into his hostage's face, "It's funny that you say that, after all, weren't you the one who destroyed the highly experimental Knightmare known as the Lancelot? You probably did that on purpose so you could save those pitiful Eleven's in the Ghetto, right?"
"I didn't do that on purpose, it's just-"
"What? Are you saying those Elevens had a pilot that was good enough to beat a seventh Generation Knightmare frame? Or maybe you're saying, that it was due to your incompetence that they were able to get away." the other guard chimed in, "Either way, you're screwed, boy."
10:00AM
Lelouch walked into a dimly lit store, where, upon saying a few keywords, the shopkeeper's eyes glowed red, and he headed to the back, before pulling out an outfit, "I hope this is to your liking." he said robotically.
"Yes. This will do." the Prince responded while taking the outfit. Then, he left the store, pulling out his phone to make a call, "Kallen. Could you get Naoto and a couple other cell members to meet me at Tokyo tower by 12:00PM? Thank you."
Once her boyfriend abruptly hung up, Kallen shook her head, "It looks like things are progressing much faster than anticipated." she then walked into her brother's temporary apartment, where he was moving one of the chairs from his previous apartment around.
"You could help, y'know?" Naoto snarkily told his friends, Ohgi, Tamaki, and Kento, who were watching the spectacle from the kitchen.
"No way. I told you I'd help, so long as you didn't choose to take those damn chairs," Ohgi responded while taking a beer can out of a case, "And now look at you; you're struggling to move them around like an idiot."
"Some friends you are!"
"Naoto," Kallen called, "We're going to Tokyo Tower."
"What for?"
"He wants to meet with us."
"You mean that guy from Shinjuku? He's really gotta give us a name to call him by, y'know?" Tamaki suggested, "I'm exhausted of hearing you refer to the guy in ambiguous titles that could pertain to anyone."
"Whoa, pertain is a big word. Where'd you learn that from?" Kento asked in a mocking manner.
"I'm not a complete idiot, you know!"
"Oh? So you admit you are an idiot?"
"S-shut up!"
Naoto sighed, "What time does he want us to meet him?"
"12:00PM"
"Good. Then I should have enough time to move all my stuff in by then." his friends groaned upon hearing this, "What?"
"I hope that when you go to bed tonight, you get an itch where, no matter how much you scratch, it won't go away." Ohgi replied while walking out of the apartment, "C'mon Tamaki, Kento, we're going to Tokyo Tower."
"What-we still have an hour before we need to catch the train!" the resistance leader shouted.
"If I have to stay in this dusty apartment for any longer, I think I'll get lice. We'll meet you there at 12. Until then, we're probably just going to see the sights."
"What sights?" Naoto shook his head, "How about you, Kallen? Will you help me move the chairs in?"
"Nope."
"Oh c'mon!"
10:48AM
Ohgi, Tamaki, and Kento arrived at a shine hidden away in a forest just outside the settlement. In the second pacific war, most major shrines were destroyed due to Britannia attempting to erase Japanese culture. Thankfully, most minor shrines, like the one the men were visiting now, remained intact due to how hidden away they were. After all, only locals, or friends of the locals would know such a shrine existed.
Kento walked up to the shrine and placed a yen coin on it, before the trio clapped their hands, and prayed, "Hey guys. I hope you're having fun up there… at least you're out of this shithole." Kento didn't speak with Nagata much, however, he did have a few conversations with Minami here and there. Other than that, he wasn't really close with the two resistance members, "Save me a cold one for when I get up there, okay?"
"Minami, Nagata, I hope you guys can forgive me," this wasn't something Tamaki would say out loud, but lately, the death of his two best friends has been taking a toll on his mental state. "If I only followed Naoto's plan… maybe you two would still be here…"
"I swear… Minami, Nagata, we'll make those bastards pay. I just know Naoto will figure something out." the image Lelouch flashed in Ohgi's mind, "Still… I don't know about Naoto trusting that guy… but, if he says it's okay, then I'll just have to put my faith in him."
With that, the trio finished their prayers, and left the shrine.
12:00PM
Kallen stared at a piece of shrapnel in the Tokyo Tower 'museum', as Naoto and his group looked off into the distance, "Oh yeah, there's no debating it, thanks to Prince Clovis, life's better here. I mean, it's all due to Britannia that we're able to rebuild as quickly as we did. I'm happy about that." Ohgi said, "That's why, I think it's a shame that the Prince is dead."
"Dude. Who the hell are you talking to?" Tamaki asked
"To you! You idiot!" he then lowered his voice, "Naoto told us to have random conversations to make it seem like we're admiring Britannia."
"You're not fooling anyone, sounding like that, though." Kento added
Naoto sighed at the exchange, before glancing at Kallen, who was checking her phone, that's when the intercom rang, "Paging Miss Kallen Stadtfeld. One of your effects have been turned in at the kiosk on the observation deck. I repeat."
This made the red head roll her eyes while approaching the help desk, "Why couldn't he have just texted me the next instructions? Is this all really necessary?" she opened up the phone, and sure enough, a caller ID known as 'Zero' appeared. "H-hello? Zero?"
"I want you to board the outbound train on loop-line five. Make sure Naoto and his friends come too." Lelouch explained before hanging up.
"Jeez… this is just ridiculous…"
"Good evening, Mr. Gottwald!" Deithard announced while entering the Viceroy's office, "I hope you didn't miss me too much."
"As pretentious as ever I see." the acting Viceroy responded while approving a paper that requested extra funds for the Lancelot repairs. "Did you get the plans ready?"
"Yes, yes. Tomorrow we'll parade Suzaku Kururugi on a float for all loyal Britannian's and insolent Eleven's to see. That same day, we'll broadcast his trial for the whole world to see, successfully convicting him of assassinating the Viceroy. The next day, we'll execute the boy, and on Christmas, we'll broadcast Prince Clovis' memorial over all TV stations, where the Emperor will also give his own speech. Is that right?"
"Correct." Jeremiah said while sliding a stack of papers to the side. "And I'm assuming the bridge Kewell's traveling on will be packed with loyal Britannian supporters?"
"Precisely." the reporter confirmed while wiping a strand of hair out of his eyes, "Though, may I ask? Why're we broadcasting the Viceroy's memorial so late? Protocol usually dictates we do it the day their death is announced, or the very next. Yet, you've requested it to be pushed all the way back to Christmas."
"Is that a problem?"
"Not necessarily. As, I'm not one who follows protocol to a T either, however," his eyes narrowed, "I can't help but feel like there's another reason."
"What're you trying to say?" Jeremiah now gave the reporter his full attention, putting his stamp in a drawer below.
"Well… a busy reporter like myself is always looking for the next big thing," Deithard pointed at the Viceroy, "The only question is, do you have it?"
"I have nothing to give you. If you kept your word, then you should've already deleted the recordings you have of me. After all, was the truth behind the Shinjuku battle not good enough for you?"
"Oh no, it was plenty. I just would've liked something that I could broadcast over the main station, and not something I'd have to post in a secret online forum for the weirdo's and no-life's to view all day."
"Aren't those the same weirdo's and no-life's that keep your job afloat?"
Deithard shook his finger, "Ah, ah, ah. Those no-life's pay for my information, while the ones online don't."
Jeremiah rolled his eyes, "If that's all you have to say. Then leave me. I'm sure Kewell would like to be interviewed for his 'big debut' tomorrow."
"Very well. I wish you a good day, Mr. Gottwald."
"That's Viceroy Jeremiah, to you." the acting viceroy spitefully corrected the reporter just as he was about to leave.
This caused Deithard to stop just before the door and say, "My apologies. Have a good day, Viceroy Jeremiah."
Kallen, Naoto, Ohgi, Tamaki, and Kento boarded the train where unexpectedly, everyone was seated in an orderly fashion. "Whoa… freaky," Tamaki muttered while walking past the emotionless people.
"Yeah… shouldn't there be more people here?" Ohgi said, "The trains should be packed."
"Let's just be thankful that's not the case…" Kento added as the train began to move.
That's when Kallen's new phone rang, "What now?" she asked Lelouch.
"Face forward and look to your right, what do you see?"
She did as told, and replied, "The Britannian city. It was stolen away from us, and built on our sacrifice."
Kallen had already decided she would answer the same way as before. While she didn't remember much from the earlier days of the Black Knight's, this was one memory that she couldn't forget. "And on the left?"
"I see our city. Remnants of the desiccated city after Britannia sucked it dry."
Naoto sighed upon hearing her response, "That's why we have to change things. Though, we already knew that, so why's Lelouch doing this?"
"Good answer. Now make your way to the front of the train." with that he hung up, and resistance members did as told, passing by static passengers as they hardly reacted to their movement.
"The next stop is Okubo. Okubo is next. Those wishing to transfer to the Chuo-Soubu line should exit at the next stop. Okubo will be next. Once again. Those wishing to transfer to the Chuo-Soubu line should exit at the next stop." the intercom rang as the group came across a singular figure in an empty car. "What's with all this, huh?" Naoto began, "Everything you've said, we already knew."
However, the figure didn't respond. While wearing an all Black outfit, he faced away from the group, seemingly waiting for something. "God… just when I thought this guy couldn't be more of a clown," Tamaki muttered, "Hey! The circus called and said they want their outfit back!"
"Did you like my tour of the settlement?" the man began.
"Your tour?" Ohgi asked
"Yes. I wanted you to fully grasp the difference between the Ghetto and the Settlement."
"We already know. While we live in the dumpsters, the Britannians live like kings. The difference is huge, harsh even. But what's the point of showing us this?"
"Why do you fight, Ohgi?"
"That's easy. It's because Naoto-"
"No. I want your reason, not Naoto's." the man sternly replied.
This surprised Ohgi, "Well… I used to be a school teacher… but after the war, the school I worked at was destroyed, and the kids…" he clenched his fist, "the kids were-"
"You don't need to finish that sentence. It must've been hard for you, right? Seeing such a scene?" the train entered a tunnel, and that's when he finally turned around, "And after that, you turned to terrorism, right?"
"I mean… that's the main reason why I resist them…"
"Yet you act like terrorist? I've seen the way you treat Britannian's, secretly looking at them with disdain, hoping they'd die, right? Well, you're wrong. Britannia won't fall to terrorism."
"Fall?" Kento muttered
That was the final straw for Naoto, "We already know that-"
"Zero." the man said in anticipation, "You will call me Zero."
"Zero as in nothing?" Tamaki whispered, "God, this guy's got a code name and everything. Why don't I have a code name?"
Naoto sighed, "Fine. Zero, we already know that. I've been telling my resistance group about treating both Britannian's and Japanese fairly."
"Exactly. You only tell them, not teach them. Look at Tamaki," the man in question was currently in deep thought, "I've seen how he treats Britannian's while you're not around, bullying them when they enter the Ghetto, and threatening to beat them up." Zero announced, "I should know. He did that to me once."
"Tamaki, is that true?" Naoto asked in a scolding voice.
"Uh, um… it wasn't just me! Yoshida and Kento did it too!"
"Hey!" Kento shouted
Once again, the resistance leader sighed heavily, "So what're you trying to say?"
"That's simple," underneath his mask, Lelouch smiled while snapping his fingers, "We must take up our swords, and fight for justice! We'll wage war on Britannia itself, and spare the innocent, like Knights!"
"That's great and all," Tamaki responded, "But lose the mask, man! How're we supposed to trust someone who won't even show us his face?"
The train exited the tunnel, "He's right! Lose the mask!" Kento added
Lelouch made a motion for his mask, but just before he could touch it, he fanned out his arms, "How about instead of showing you my face, I'll gain your trust through my actions. If I deliver you the impossible, what then?"
"The impossible… what's that supposed to mean?" Ohgi's eyes were wide with disbelief, "Beat Britannia? Naoto's been saying it for a few years now… and while I have full faith in his abilities… he didn't show us any proof of being able to do that. That battle in Shinjuku was the first time we got a major victory, but even then, a lot of that was due to this man's abilities…" the train came to a stop.
"If you'd like to be a part of my plan. Then follow me," Zero announced, "If not, then bear witness to my power."
Suzaku sat in the middle of a cell wearing a straight jacket, listening to his unexpected visitor say, "Congratulations! They weren't on any casualty list I've seen."
"Thank you, Lloyd. That's good to hear."
"Though, there's not much luck on your end. You may be getting a trial, but no one's pulling for you, certainly."
Suzaku shook his head, "But the courts are where the truth come to light."
"I expect there'll be more smoke and mirrors than anything." the mad scientist responded while getting up from his stool, "The truth is scarce as of late."
"If that's the way the world works, then I have no regrets."
"So it's just you three?" Zero asked as Ohgi, Naoto, and Kallen approached the junkyard.
"What're you planning, Zero?" Naoto asked, "If it's anything too big, I'm afraid-"
"No. This'll be just fine." Lelouch made his way down from the pile of trash he stood upon, "I want you to build this." he handed Naoto a picture, and pointed at a destroyed car, "That should suffice. Please have it done by tomorrow, thank you."
"Woah, wait just a minute!" the resistance leader shouted, "There's no way we'll be able to build this!"
"You only need to do the outside," Lelouch responded, "Make it look as real as possible. Because if it's not, then we'll fail."
"What will you do?" Ohgi asked.
"I'll be out getting refreshments, and a few other things we'll need. Make sure the back is big enough to fit something in, by the way."
With that, Zero left the trio alone with a destroyed car, "At least this thing runs," Naoto muttered while starting up the car, "All right, let's start with the supports I guess…"
Jeremiah checked the time on his watch, which read 4:00PM, that's when the door to his office opened, "Hello Jeremiah!" Milly Ashford announced, "I hope I'm not bothering you."
"Not at all, Miss Milly," the Viceroy greeted, "Now, my lord says you have a proposal that you wish to run by me?"
The blonde sat across from the margrave with a manila folder in hand, "Correct!" she handed it over and continued, "You see, I noticed that the Britannian military is running a bit low on Sutherland's as of late, so I was wondering if you'd allow Ashford Industries to supply you with replacements?"
"Ashford Industries?" Jeremiah muttered while looking over the paper's, "Are you saying you're trying to continue your grandfather's business?"
"Not at all." Milly happily responded, "I'm doing this mainly because I think it's fun."
That was a lie. Though, it wasn't in the Viceroy's place to question her response, instead, he said, "Well. You should know, the Britannian military gets it equipment delivered straight from the homeland, and while we do accept Knightmare's given by other manufacturers, I must ask, how many?"
"We'll give you 30 units for half the market price."
Jeremiah was taken aback with such a quick response, "That… is offley generous of you. May I ask why?"
"Simple. I'm still in the process of reestablishing Ashford Industries, so I'm willing to cut the price in half if you spread our good name."
"Hmm… it's certainly an interesting prospect," he leaned in and now spoke in a whisper, "But isn't this counter-intuitive to my Lord's objective? Should you really be giving supplies to the enemy?"
Milly's smile only grew wider, "Don't worry about it. We've already predicted how business will go in the next few months."
Jeremiah leaned back in his seat, understanding what she meant, "I see… very well, then where do I sign?"
"How the hell does he expect us to move this!?" Naoto shouted while looking from a message on Kallen's new phone, to the gas capsule in front of him, "How'd he get this anyway!?"
"Maybe we could try rolling it onto the back?" Ohgi suggested.
"We're not doing that."
"Lelouch should be coming around with a Knightmare to move this any second now…" Kallen sat atop a pile of scrap while Ohgi and Naoto took a few pieces of metal, and laid it like a ramp from the ground, to the back of the car. "I thought you said you weren't going to roll it?"
"Could you help us, please?" her brother pleaded
"No way. You really expect a woman to do the heavy lifting?"
A red mark of annoyance appeared on Naoto's forehead, "You didn't seem to complain about doing hard work before…" he muttered while stretching his arms.
Just as the men were about to ram their shoulders into the capsule, Kallen shouted, "Ah, he's here!"
Naoto and Ohgi quickly ran around the mountain of trash, "It looks like you've made some great progress." Zero said while standing atop a red Sutherland.
"Kally!" Maya shouted while crawling out of the Knightmare's cockpit, "it's so good to see you!" she almost jumped onto the red head, however, was stopped by Mario, who grabbed her by the collar.
"You forgot your crutches, idiot." he said while putting his sister on his shoulder, and taking carefully escorting her to the bottom, where two crutches were leaning against the machine's leg.
"You're no fun!" she complained while grabbing the crutches.
"Zero, where'd you get this from?" Ohgi asked, "I thought all of our Knightmare's were destroyed in Shinjuku."
"They were, however," Lelouch entered the cockpit, "This one was specially built by an ally of mine." he maneuvered the Sutherland over to the capsule, and picked it up, "Maya will be the one piloting this during the operation, as it's specifically made to suit her needs." he placed the round object on the back of the car.
"Why didn't I get to pilot it," Kallen muttered with a pout.
"Don't worry, Kally, we've got more where that came from." Maya responded with a bright smile.
"Okay. It's ready to be hooked up." the Prince ordered
"Got it! C'mon, Mario, get me up there!"
Mario lifted his sister onto the car and kept close to her as she worked on the wiring. Meanwhile, Naoto approached Lelouch, "Hey, you still haven't told me the plan. Would you mind letting me in on some details?"
"We're going to save Suzaku Kururugi tomorrow."
With those words, the resistance leader's eyes widened with shock, "You're kidding, right!? He's going to be heavily guarded by the Britannian pure-bloods. This won't be like Shinjuku where they'll follow us to an ambush."
"I know that."
"Then tell me the plan!"
"Just trust me."
Naoto lowered his voice to a whisper, making sure Ohgi couldn't hear what was being said in the background, "Listen Lelouch, if you're going to risk my sister's life in this plan of yours, you could at least tell me what roles we'll all be playing."
"Fine. Kallen and I will be driving this car up to the Suzaku's prison float, meanwhile, you and Ohgi will be working as retrieval once we get Suzaku. Maya and Mario will also be joining you down there, but they'll have different roles to play."
"How're you going to get him, though?"
"Don't worry about it. I've already got everything figured out."
"You can't say that to me." Naoto responded, "Especially while my sister's safety is in the conversation."
"Just trust the process. I'll reveal everything to you after the operation."
"How do I know you're not lying?"
"Because I made a promise to Kallen." Lelouch replied.
"Well… now that we're on the topic…" the resistance leader shifted the subject, "About my sister and you… how did that happen? Actually, when did that happen?"
"On my Birthday."
"Ah, so after I told you to leave my sister alone, right?" he then shook his head, "Wait, Birthday?"
"I don't know what you want me to say," the Prince responded, avoiding the second question.
"No wait. When's your birthday?"
"I don't see how that's relevant."
It was a lie that was instantly called out, "Bullshit! It's 100% relevant! Just saying 'on my Birthday', doesn't tell me anything. So, when is it?"
"It WAS on the 5th"
"Of December?"
"Correct."
"Oh wow, Happy late Birthday." that's when the Kozuki realized they were close to getting off topic, "Anyway, listen, I'm not going to try and break you two up. However, I just want you to keep in mind what I said before." he continued, "I don't want to see my sister hurt. Just like you wouldn't want to see yours."
The older Kozuki didn't have much to say that wasn't already common sense. And while he was still weary of their relationship, he wouldn't attempt to break them up, as he was still admittedly scared of his sister's wrath. So against his better judgment, he'd allow it to go on.
"Don't worry. I'll make sure no harm comes to Kallen." Lelouch responded while walking away.
"Zero, huh… " Naoto watched as the Prince joined the Maya while she was talking about the capsules wiring, meanwhile, Kallen was busy studying the interior of the Sutherland, "It looks like things are about to speed up. I just hope it's not something we can't handle…"
AN: Yeah… it turns out this was a build up chapter. At least I have the weekend to fully think of Suzaku's rescue. So that'll indefinetly be the next chapter.
