Molly was steadily becoming more and more nervous as she approached the entrance to Playtime Co., her heart beating faster the closer she got.
"Come on, Molly. You can do this. You're already in trouble with mom and dad. Might as well have something to show for it." she said to herself as she approached the front entrance. "Okay...how do I get in?" she asked herself while looking around. "Do I break a window? No. Bad idea. Might set off a security alarm. Then again, this place has been closed for 10 years. Maybe...heh, maybe the front door?" she chuckled as she grabbed the door handle, pulled...and found it unlocked. "What? Seriously? It's not locked?" she asked herself. "Hmm. Maybe whoever sent the letter unlocked it?...That just makes this creepier." she muttered before walking in. After the door closed behind her, she took a good look around the area. "Huh. Looks like a reception area." she said as she looked at the chipped wall paintings. "I wonder what this place looked like during it's heyday." she muttered as she walked around before seeing a bright green VHS. "What's this? 'Leith Pierre Closing?'" she read before seeing a VCR that was the same color as the tape. "Why are they both green?" she asked before she shrugged and popped it in. A second later, the TV hanging above her came to life, an image of a fuzzy blue arm with a yellow hand appearing as a voice spoke.
"Hi! My name is Leith Pierre, and I'm the Head of Innovation here at the Playtime Co. Toy Factory. If you're seeing this, then you're trespassing!"
Molly rolled her eyes at that. Even without seeing it, she knew she was trespassing.
"Yeah, we play this little tape on loop whenever we close the for the day. So, trespasser, just to make you aware, while we pride ourselves primarily on our high quality toys and excellent childcare, we also pride ourselves on our security. For example, this facility is full of hidden motion triggers, which, once set off, will turn on the factory's emergency alarms and directly contact the authorities!"
Molly's eyes nearly bugged out at that. If this was true, then the police may appear.
"And...that's one of the more tame aspects of our security system. No spoilers. So, you've got my warning. It's not too late to turn around. I just hope that you're certain whatever you're doing is worth it."
The tape said nothing as the arm stayed on the screen, leaving Molly in silence.
"Well...shit! This isn't good." Molly said to herself as she looked around. "If I set off anything, the police will be here! Should I leave?" she asked herself as she stared at the ground. "...No. I came here for answers! Heck with the consequences!"
She tightened her grip on her backpack's straps before she walked around the area. The door behind the reception desk was locked, a strange blue hand panel above it. The security door? Locked with a code. That left the gift shop.
"4,000 calories a day?" Molly said as she read the poster of Bron eating on the wall. "Who'd eat that much?!" she said as she walked in. The area was littered with toy boxes, some even still having toys inside them. Sadly, that wasn't what she wanted. "Great. A dead end. Now what do I do?" she huffed. "Maybe I should just punch a bunch of those colorful buttons and hope they open the security door? No. Might set off an alarm." she said to herself. She looked around again before the sound of a train finally caught her attention. She looked up to see a train running in circles on a track suspended above her. "Wow. That train must have a really good battery to stay going for so...long..." she trailed off as she noticed the different color of both the train and it's cars. She looked at it, then back a the security pad in the distance. Then back and forth a few times before sighing. "You gotta be kidding me." she said as she quickly ran over to the keypad. "Let's see...Green, Pink, Yellow, Red." she said as she pressed each square, each of them lighting up before the door opened after she pushed the red button. "Seriously? Why would they leave the code to security in plain sight?" she asked as she walked in. She immediately took notice of a device sealed behind a glass case, a TV with a blue VCR next to it and a blue VHS tape on a desk nearby. "What's the with the matching colors? Is that a theme or something?" she wondered as she read the label.
"GrabPack Training." she read out loud before popping it in. "Must be that weird device." she said as she watched the video. "Let's see...GrabPack...adjust straps tightly. Hope I can fit it around my own backpack. Hold both cannons...latches onto small objects...don't fire at cowork-oohhh he took his head off! Yikes! Wire is conductive. Use GrabPack responsibly. No shit!" she said as the tape ended, the glass moving to allow access to the GrabPack. "Okay. Let's see if I can get...only one hand? Is it broken?" she asked when she noticed the red hand was gone. "Well, beggers can't be choosers." she said as she worked to get the GrabPack on. She managed to work her own toy-filled backpack around the arms before slide it onto her back and tightened the straps. "A little awkward and heavy, but usable." she said with a nod before looking at a chair. "Let's see if this works." she said as she aimed the blue hand and squeezed the trigger. The hand shot out of the arm and flew towards the chair before it's fingers latched onto it. "It worked!" she cheered while throwing her hands up. Sadly, that caused the hand to retract and pull the chair with it, making her scream as she jumped out of the way so it wouldn't crash into her. "Whoops! That...That was close!" she gasped as she got back to her feet. "Okay...gotta be careful with this thing." she muttered as she walked out of the security office and headed toward the door behind the receptionist desk. She looked up at the blue hand panel and squeezed the trigger for the blue hand a few times, making it shoot out a little each time. "Open says me." she said as she aimed the blue hand and shot the hand out at it. It stayed attached to the blue panel and was scanned before the steel door lifted up.
"Yes!" she silently cheered. She waited for the door to fully rise and prepared to venture in before suddenly stopping, her gaze focused ahead and her expression going blank. She did nothing for almost a minute before her legs finally started to move. One foot stepped in front of the other, bringing her closer and closer towards the center of the room.
Towards the biggest Huggy Wuggy she had ever laid her eyes upon.
She craned her neck as she looked up at display Huggy's smiling face, his right hand held up as if waving to someone.
"Wow." she muttered. "I wonder if they ever sold any in that size." she said as she stared at him. She took a few steps closer to him and looked down at his furry legs, admiring the detail they put into him. She smiled as she slowly reached out and gently felt his fur. Despite no one being here for ten years, the fur felt soft as if freshly groomed. She let out a laugh before she latched onto his right leg and hugged him, letting out a low hum as she enjoyed his soft fur against her skin.
"I really wish you could hug back." she said as she stepped away and looked up at him before frowning in confusion. For some reason, he and everything else looked weird. Like she was looking at them from under water. She blinked a few times to clear her vision before feeling something wet run down her cheeks. "Huh?" she said as she felt her cheeks before pulling her hands back, a few wet spots on her palms. "Why...am I crying?" she asked before she wiped her tears away. She backed away and looked at the sign that had information about Huggy Wuggy and his creation and read it before pushing the big red button in the center.
"IT'S HUGGY! HUGGY WUGGY! WHEN HE HUGS YOU, HE'LL NEVER STOP!
HA HA HA HA!
"YOUR FRIEND, HUGGY! HUGGY WUGGY! HE'LL SQUEEZE YOU UNTIL YOU POP!"
Molly just stared at the sign after hearing the short song play throughout the room.
"What...was that?!" she asked after a brief moment. "What the heck was up with that laugh?! Is that supposed to be Huggy?! That is not what he sounds like!" she snapped with a heavy frown. "...Wait, why do I know that?" she asked in confusion.
"Aww, you have a bad day, Molly? Here. Let Huggy hug your worries away."
She gasped and looked up at Huggy Wuggy, still looking ahead and unmoving since she walked into that room.
"Was...Was that?!...No. No way." she said before she suddenly yawned. "Oh crap. I must more tired than I thought. I'm hearing voices." She slapped her cheeks a few times before steeling herself. "No time for a nap now. Gotta get deeper into this place." she said before she tried to leave. Sadly, all the doors she tried were locked tight. The last door was another steel door with a blue hand scanner above it. "Here goes." she said as she shot her blue hand at it. It connected and began to scan before it suddenly fizzled out, a spark traveling down the wire and behind the door to the Power room. "Are you shitting me right now?! How am I supposed to get in there?! It's locked!" she yelled before running her hand down her face. "I can't just break the glass on the door. The alarm might go off." she grumbled before looking up at Huggy. "You got any ideas?" she asked before she noticed a key was now dangling in Huggy's right hand. She rubbed her eyes and looked again to see that it was still there before shooting the blue hand out to grab it and bring it to her. "Heheh...I must be more tired than I thought. I didn't even see that key there the first time." she said with a nervous smile. "Well, uh...thanks, Huggy. I'm gonna...I'm gonna go now." she said as she unlocked the door to the Power room, but cast one more glance at him over her shoulder.
"Don't move. I'll be right back." she joked as she walked in, then past the other door for Staff only. "Okay...How do I turn on the power?" she said as she looked around at the room before spotting a poster with Kissy Missy on it. "Do's and Don'ts." she read before mumbling the stuff, then laughed when she read the part about not standing behind doors to scare Leith Pierre. "That's funny! They actually made that a rule?!" she asked with a laugh as she continued on. "Okay. Let's see." she said as she used her GrabPack's hand to open the door on the eletrical box. "If I recall, you hold the button down..." she said as she had the blue hand grab the nob, causing the wire to glow with electricity. "Good. Now I just wrap the wires around these large coils...Who designed it that way? Supposed to let the employees have fun figuring out silly puzzles?" she asked as moved throughout the room, the wire stretching until it connected with both coils, causing the power to return. "Nice! The power's back!" she said as her blue hand retracted back into place. She turned to leave...then ran out of the room back to where Huggy Wuggy was.
Or rather, where he was.
"...Huggy?"
