Two weeks later, Cosmic Circus…
A crowd was gathered in front of the memorial, made up of the many people the group had helped during their adventure.
"This was really a very beautiful thing to do." Cece said.
"It's the least we could do." Mark replied. "I didn't know the man, but…a lot of people cared about him."
"It was our idea, by the way." Kazuma Sato spoke up from behind them.
"Nobody asked you, Sato." Kazuma Fujimori replied.
"Shh! It's starting." Ring shushed them as Sunset walked to the front of the crowd with a microphone, the scattered conversations quieting down.
"Hi…some of you may already know me but just in case…my name is Sunset Shimmer. Today, we're gathered in the memory of someone who…probably wasn't some major player to a lot, but he was to me and to this circus…Dennis." she said standing before the memorial statue. "While a grave/memorial isn't usually a traditional thing for a circus to have, this was the least we could do. He and I were connected through a red string of fate." she then looked down at her watch. "Mysterious phenomena are often caused by mischievous spirits called Yo-kai. You may not believe that but…to some of you who were there, I'm positive you all are true believers. And I hope more of them are out there too."
"She's doing so well. I'm so myoved!" Tomnyan cried as Team Go-Go held him back to avoid going to hug her.
"I've left…gifts for many of the people out there in the universes. Maybe you are lonely and don't wanna admit it…" Sunset said, looking at Yunyun who wore a red watch. "Also some of you who have been hiding in the backdrop for a long time." she said, looking at Wallflower hiding in the back. "My hope from now on…is that humans and Yo-kai can connect, so we can finally build the bridge that needs to be built. I thank you all." she said as she walked off.
Later, on the outskirts of Springdale…
Trevor whistled as he looked at the new village, the crowd from before, as well as the entire Night Parade, having gathered in front of it. "You guys spared no expense, huh?"
"Well we've been working very hard to build this thing." Franky said. "In fact, I say it was a SUPER good project."
"Well, whatcha gonna call it?" Jibanyan asked Sunset.
"I had plenty of ideas, but one stuck out to me." Sunset smiled, as she turned to the crowd. "Everyone…welcome to Adams Village!"
"Adams Village, that's pretty cool!" Nate said, having been resurrected into a human along side Katie. "You didn't have to name a whole village after me, though."
"Nate, I think the name came from William?" Katie reminded as Nate faulted.
"Funny how you two have the same last name, over four hundred years apart, huh?" ZS chuckled.
"Yeah…actually, I think dad mentioned our family descending from a clanless samurai." Nate remarked, a statement that gave the group pause.
"...You guys don't think…?" Mark asked.
"Stranger things have happened." David answered.
"Speaking of William, what's he up to these days?" Kaite asked.
"He went back to Japan to help out Hanzo." Hope said.
"Oh right… Hanzo meets his end at the Siege of Osaka." David said.
"I hope it all turns out well." Katie said.
"Hopefully so. The Yo-kai Alliance is done for with Dee, McKraken and Dame Dedtime imprisoned in the Infinite Inferno. Although, the Ghoulfather is still at large." Sheer said.
"With three-fourths of the alliance imprisoned and all their resources, including all the Amrita Dee collected confiscated and his ship trashed, the Ghoulfather's gonna have a hard time bouncing back." Hope said.
"You're not giving him enough credit. We have no idea if or even when he'll plot his revenge. All we can do is keep an eye out." Sheer said.
"That's a problem for future us." Mark said. "For now, I say we have ourselves a well-deserved break."
"You're right Mark. After all we did, we deserve it." Glimmer said.
"I hope this peace of ours can last for a while. Feels like we spent a whole summer going after spirits." Asta said.
"Yeah…" Sunset said, seeing the Yo-kai settling into the village. "I think I'm gonna have a look around."
(Cue: Yukumo Village - Monster Hunter Portable 3rd)
Sunset strolled through the village, seeing many instances of Yo-kai and humans interacting with each other:
Yunyun getting a Yo-kai medal from Casanono, while Wallflower was talking with the Dancing Trio, Herbiboy and Bloominoko while sharing their medals.
Drizzelda & Ray O'Light (each now wearing a ring) walking through town, while happily conversing with Zest-a-Minute & Lazy Sundae.
Don Chan playing music backed up by several music-related Yo-kai, having gathered a cheering audience.
Agent X planting a tree in the middle of town, being assisted by several CHS students.
Arachnus and Toadal Dude getting into another argument as members of the Bony Spirits and Fleshy Souls just sighed.
Venoct stood on a rooftop and maintaining a steadfast vigil and Kyubi (disguised as a human) seducing a few of the women visitors.
USApyon building a rocket together with Afronaut.
Lili was pestering Asuka into fighting her again. However, with Castelius Max and Skillskull around, Asuka is actually looking forward to it this time.
As Sunset passed by a place with the sign "Flatspider's Tea Web" placed at the top, she noticed two people sitting on the porch leading into the store.
"So, Geist…what do you think of my tea?" Danjo asked the Dark Card sub-leader.
"It is simply remarkable. I…I have no words." Geist said. "I can't believe that girl aced my challenge and did…all this."
"Ah yes, such an interesting agent of change. Even I never foresaw what she and her allies would end up accomplishing." Danjo admitted, before seeing Sunset standing in front of the store. "Ah, speak of the devil, and they shall appear!"
"Danjo, I'm not a devil." Sunset chided. "I'm a monster, remember?" she added with a smile.
"Ah, so you are." Danjo smirked in return. "Come, join us! There is plenty of tea to go around."
Sunset climbed up the steps and sat down with Geist and the former lord, accepting a cup of tea from the latter.
"I hear you encountered the Demon King near the end of your travels." Danjo remarked. "To think even they could be capable of giving up conquest…hahaha! What a surprise that is!"
"You exceeded all my expectations, Sunset. Well done." Geist said.
"I couldn't have done it alone. Thank you for setting me down this path." Sunset said as she looked out across the village.
"So…how are you feeling?" Geist asked.
"Well, I haven't had any nightmares for the last few weeks, so that's good." Sunset remarked.
"Ah, so you're all better now, you think?" Danjo chuckled.
"No." Sunset answered. "I'm sure I'll make mistakes. I'm sure I'll face more problems in the future. But…I'm not going to let regrets weigh me down anymore. I'll face whatever comes next head on, alongside all my friends."
She looked around, seeing Jibanyan, Whisper, USApyon, Hovernyan, Silver Lining, Little Charrmer, Tattletell, Hungrams and Unkeen talking among themselves.
This was a story about a girl. A girl who long ago traveled to another world from where she came, desiring nothing but power. But then she made friends who helped her see the errors of her ways and then ventured onward to become so much more. She may have lost her connections with one group of friends, but thanks to another, she found them again. You can call her a lot of things. Unicorn, High School Student, Special-Grade Jujutsu Sorcerer…Monster.
But she's also just an interdimensional hero who hates bullies and loves Yo-kai. Her name is Sunset Shimmer.
