Jonathan crane sits in his car trying to think of what led him to this experience, if you would have asked him when he began his criminal career that one day he'd have to attend the funeral of some future partners pet monkey he'd probably fear gas you and then kick you in the nuts

But here he sat outside of the Gotham pet cemetery around him set the cars of some of his boyfriend, jervis tetch's criminal gang, look into a side he sees the Tweedle twins also regretting every life choice they've made up to this point, take a deep breath he exits the car and tries to fight off the urge to smoke an entire pack of cigarettes

The surprisingly somber air of the cemetery is in stark contrast with the oddly humorous context of what was going on, from what he could tell from that late night grief phone call from his boyfriend, Carol he thinks the chimps name was broke its neck when it slipped on a banana peel, crane has to cover his mouth to hold back the urge to laugh at the mental image

The sound of sniffling draws his attention to the podium, there stands tetch tears staining his cheeks and his hands are clenched in his black grieving dress, " Carol w- was the best pet monkey a man could ever have" but the rest of his eulogy is cut off by an ugly SOB as he collapses to the ground pounded it in frustration at the terrible loss he had suffered

Harriet tubes the man on the ground and Maneuvers him over to a chair, it happens to be the one next to Jonathan who tries to look sympathetic and raps a soothing arm around the other man's shoulder, jervis muffles hes sobs into Jonathan's chest as the coffin is lowered into the cemetery ground

Later at the Gulf of zoo Jonathan and jervis are in the primate section looking for a replacement Carol, Jonathan adjust his Party City mustache and leans over to see if his boyfriend is picked one yet

" none of them are right, maybe we should try a different animal" the blonde Whispers and they walk over to the Aviary

they go there Separate Ways and as Jonathan is busy looking at the crow section he's grabbed by the sleeve by an excited jervis and dragged over to a shoe Bill exhibit, the blonde points excitedly at the gray bird which is oversized beak and Jonathan Just Smiles and reminds himself to grab a map before they leave for later when they come back
