*POV BELLA*
Rose: so, you have a date?
I try but fail to hold back my laugh. I guess Alice is home. Leah lays out on the couch and I sit on the floor in front of her, flipping through the channels. I wonder if I should even reply. Before I can even decide, Leah snatches my phone and text Rosalie back. Leah starts laughing and I have to wrestle my phone out of her hand. I type in my password and see what she wrote.
Bella: come over and find out.
Bella: LEAH! She's going to kill me and you!
Leah: "no she won't. Charlie is here." *doorbell rings* "oh shit, is that her?"
Bella: fuck.
I jump up to answer the door and I'm greeted by 3 Cullens.
Bella: Hey pixie… Eddie…. Ahh the famous Greek goddess.
Rosalie smiles at my nickname for her. I wave my hand at them to come in. Leah stands up and I see her tense a little. I rush over and grab her hand. Just to give her some comfort. I'm sure 4 hours ago, she wouldn't have ever pictured being in a room with 3 vampires and a wolf. When I grab her hand, all 3 sets of eyes are on me.
Bella: Leah, this is Alice, Edward and the beautiful Aphrodite…. this is Leah. My best friend.
I see hurt flash in Alice's eyes and I want to take back my comment but Rosalie steps forward.
Rose: nice to meet you best friend Leah. Sorry if we scared you. Alice told us Adonis here, was on a date. And since she didn't deny it. I was just curious.
She extends her hand and I see the shiver run down Leah's body as they touch.
Leah: Well, you know what they say. Curiosity killed the cat. But yeah, that was my fault. I texted you back. Adonis was too slow. I was curious too. Not every day you get a chance to meet a vampire.
All 3 Cullens look at each other and then me. I just shrug my shoulders.
Bella: she's my best friend. I tell her everything.
Rose: do you go to our school?
Leah: thank every god no, I actually already graduated. And I've been gone this whole summer.
I look at Alice and she's still staring at our hands. Not realizing I was still holding Leah's; I quickly drop it.
Rose: welcome back to Folks.
Leah: thank you, welcome to Folks. We're having pizza, do ya want some? Oh wait, the whole blood thing.
Edward, Rosalie and I start laughing. Alice looks at me annoyed and Leah is confused.
Bella: see about that…
Alice: we'll stay for pizza.
Rosalie and Edward look at her like she's crazy.
Bella: no, we're not doing that again. But you guys can join us for the movie.
Edward: what are you watching?
Bella: interview with a vampire.
All 3 Cullens look at each other and start laughing.
Bella: no, seriously that's the movie.
Alice: you do know you have 3 of them sitting right here in front of you that you can interview?
Bella: nahhh you guys have boring lives. You guys go to high school.
We all laugh and I point for them to sit. Edward and Rosalie take the couch and Leah sits down on the recliner. It leaves me and Alice to sit on the floor. I throw draggers at Leah knowing she did this on purpose, but she just stares at the TV.
Bella: Welp pixie, guess we're on the floor.
Alice: I'm fine with that. Got some pillows and covers?
Edward: hey hey, keep it PG down there. While Charlie's asleep, I'm the sheriff in town.
I smack Eddie in the face with a pillow. Alice, Rosalie and Leah laugh. My ears can easily pick out Alice's laughter and I swear it's my favorite sound in the world.
Leah: if that's the case, Alice trade seats with me? No action for already married women in this house.
I smack Leah in the face with the same pillow.
Bella: by the way, where are Emmett and Mr. Hale?
Rose: Emmett is probably on his way over. And Jasper is probably still throwing a bitch fit.
Alice turns to give her a look.
Bella: is everything ok with the princess?
Alice: Bella…
I smile at the way she says my name. It like she's trying to be stern but in a loving way.
Rose: for the record, I'm the only princess. But he's throwing a bitch fit about you. He doesn't trust you.
Alice: Rose!
Bella: for the record, you're my only princess. And that's fine. The feeling is mutual for him.
I shrug and turn to the tv.
Alice: it's not you per say. It's the whole wolf thing. He thinks it's dangerous because you're still a young wolf…. And also, he thinks you're into me.
Bella: and what if I am?
I see the nervousness on her face. A part of me wants to make a joke but a part of me wants to know her answer.
Alice: well… uh… that's not a good thing, considering we're just friends Bella.
Once again, that words just break my heart.
Leah: its ok Bella, we're best friends and I'm into you.
She says and winks at me. I feel Alice tense next to me while we all laugh.
Alice: Bella, can we take a walk?
Bella: of course.
I feel everyone's eyes follow me as I follow her out. I ignore them. I let her take the lead because the ball is in her court anyways.
*POV ALICE*
Edward and Rose followed me out. When we're far away from the house that I know the others will not be able to hear, I turn around.
Alice: I don't know what to do. I want to find answers to my visions, but I don't want to hurt or fight with Jasper.
Rose: Jasper is a big boy. If he feels insecure, that's on him to fix. You've never done anything to make him feel that way. Shit I don't see how you don't flirt with Bella. She's sexy as fuck.
Edward: yes, we all know how you feel Rose. Doesn't Emmett feel some way about this?
Rose: no, he's not a big man baby. He knows it's just a crush. I would never do anything and Bella likes him. I know she would never do anything either. Nothing wrong with flirting. Unless your name is Jasper, apparently.
Alice: it's not like that. He's just worried about the danger of a young wolf.
Rose: Alice… he's jealous. Yes, we all worry about the whole wolf thing. We worry about all the wolves, but I promise you, it's the sexual tension between the 2 of you.
Alice: Rose you think there's sexual tension with every human we come across.
Rose: sigh. Edward back me up here.
We both turn to Edward.
Edward: sorry to tell you little one, but there is something between the 2 of you. We all can see it, feel it almost. And I'm sure if we feel it, Jasper does too. I don't know what it is, but do you think there's a possibility that, you and her were meant to be more than friends.
Alice: Jasper said he couldn't feel her. And he can't feel me when she's around. My vision just showed us hanging out and stuff. It didn't show me anything romantic.
Rose: He can't feel you, but he can feel the rest of us? Hmmm.
Edward: Alice, you had a vision of Bella. Then a vision of us. On your way to find us, you had a vision of Jasper. But only because he came across your scent and he decided to go looking for you. If it was me. I would think the most important vision is the one of Bella. She was the VERY first one.
Alice: She's into Rose. And I'm with Jasper.
Rose: Are you really into Jasper? I've honestly never seen you guys together.
Alice: he gave up so much for me. He changed to this life for me. He helps protect this family for me.
Edward: yes, that is love. But are YOU IN LOVE?
Alice: Jasper has been in my life for over a hundred years. He's never left me. He's always been supportive. One day I will love him the way he loves me. He never gave up on me. I won't give up on him.
I see the look Edward and Rose give to each other.
Rose: ok, so Bella is on a date?
Alice: I believe so.
Rose: let's find out.
After texting Bella, Rose jets off to her house. Only to find out, it's just her best friend Leah. Not a date. I can't help but notice, she's really beautiful. Notice how easily Bella holds her hand, and I can't help but wonder if there was ever something more than friendship. We are all surprise when she mentions Leah knows everything. I guess she really is her best friend. I get a vision that I'll be able to get Bella alone for a while. Just long enough to talk to her about everything. When she invites us to join them for the movie, I quickly say yes….
Bella: and what if I am?
She's into me? Edward gives me a slight nudge.
Alice: well… uh… that's not a good thing, considering we're just friends Bella.
I see a glimpse of something on her face. Was that hurt? His leg nudges me again.
Leah: it's ok Bella, we're best friends and I'm into you.
Yep, there was something more there.
Alice: Bella, can we take a walk?
Bella: of course.
I walk out the door and over to the porch swing. I've always wanted a porch swing. Maybe I can get Esme to let me put one in. I take a seat, but I see Bella hesitate.
Bella: I haven't sat on it since my mom passed away.
I jump up and walk over to her. Feeling the need to comfort her for my mishap.
Alice: ohhh! We don't have to. We can stand. I just saw it and it's beautiful.
Bella: no, it's ok. We can sit. My dad made it for my mom when she was pregnant with me. She would come out here and read books to me. It's probably why I love reading so much.
Alice: I'm sorry Bella. It's ok if you don't feel comfortable.
She grabs my hand and pulls me to the swing. I wait a second, letting the moment pass for her. I like the way she holds my hand. It's tight but not too tight. And her warmth feels good.
Bella: so, what do you want to talk about pixie?
Alice: well, I just wanted to clear things up between us.
Bella: ok? What things?
Alice: well, like I told you. We're going to be best friends. And I know things are a little crazy right now. Especially because of things with Jasper. But I just want you to know, I talked to him, and he won't stand in between our friendship.
Bella: so, you just want to be friends?
Alice: yes.
Bella: nothing more?
She looks at me with hope in her eyes? Hurt?
Alice: best friends?
Bella: ok pixie. Best friends it is. I must tell you though, I'm a lot of work. Ask Leah. She's spending the night simply because I missed her.
Alice: she's spending the night? On a school night?
I feel a ping of something… is it jealousy? Am I jealous that another female is spending the night with her? Am I jealous because she didn't invite me? No, we have to work up to over nights.
Bella: yeah, what you jealous?
Alice: nope… just know you'll be spending the night soon too. Or I can spend the night here. Whichever makes you more comfortable. I'm sure a house full of vampires wouldn't be too pleasant. Besides Charlie will love me. I can already see it.
Bella: I don't know. Leah's his favorite. She has a key to our house and everything. This one time when we were like 8, we took the keys to his cruiser because we wanted to see the lights. I almost got my ass kicked but Leah sweet talked him. I didn't even get grounded. I'm sure Charlie would give up his room if she asked to move in.
Alice: are you trying to make me jealous?
Bella: maybe, are you? But no seriously. She really does have a key.
Alice: give me your key.
Bella: why?
Alice: then I will have my own key.
She gives me a big smile and it's beautiful. Maybe I can spend the night with her too. No, I shouldn't disrupt their night. I get a vision of Jasper deciding to come looking for us. He's planning to apologize to me. He eventually comes across our scent and follows it to Bella's. I'm sure Edward saw it too because he's at the door before I can even say anything.
Edward: hey Alice, it's getting late. We should head home before Esme worries.
Alice: yes of course.
Bella: that's nice of her to worry about 3 old ass vampires not being home before dark.
Rose: that's because Alice gets lost periodically.
Alice: I do not. Don't tell her that.
Bella: seriously?
Alice: no, not lost exactly. I just like to explore.
Bella: well, if you ever decide to go exploring again, call me. The woods are my second home now.
Alice: I'll take you up on that.
Everything she says, seems like she's flirting. God, I hope Jasper gets over this quickly. I see Edward nod to my comments.
Alice: ok let's go.
Bella: guess I'll see you guys tomorrow.
As we run home, I hope Bella's scent will clear out a little. Maybe we should go hunt and roll around with a bear or two.
Edward: yeah sure, that might help.
