The rangers have plenty of responsibilities, but it's not just saving humanity. Apparently, another one of the responsibilities is taking care of the horses they use to ride into battle. Taking care of a horse can be a little challenging, especially when you are distracted by a book and trying to study while you're taking care of those same horses. That's just what Austin is doing. He's trying to care for the horses, but he's got his nose in a book. It also doesn't help that his horse wants to cuddle up to him.
"Not now." Austin said as he tried to brush it off, but his horse wanted some attention. "I said not now. We'll play later."
"Everything okay in here?" Lance questioned as he came in. "It might help if you put the book down and maybe not neglect your horse."
"I don't mean to neglect my horse, but I've got to study. Don't you remember that we got a big test today?" Austin said. "Being a ranger certainly doesn't leave you much time to study." He complained as his horse tried to get cozy with him again. "I said not now. What is the deal with my horse today? What's got into it?"
"He's just being friendly. He is your horse." Lance said as he walked over and petted the horse's head. "They can be quite loyal companions like dogs."
"It can be loyal by leaving me alone so that I can study." Austin said. "Sometimes, I wonder what it would be like if I wasn't the Blue Ranger."
"Guys! We've got trouble!" Timmy called. Austin groaned as this means he is losing more study time.

Steel Grounds
Another ghoul was in the city and was attacking the city. This one was all purple with an exoskeleton and had red bristled hair with a yellow diamond right in the center of it's head. He was causing havoc everywhere he went.
"Run all you like, humans! You won't escape the likes of Botrox!"
"Stop!" He turned around and saw the rangers coming after him.
"Rangers, just who I was expecting to see." Botrox said. "Wait. There are six of you? That isn't a very fair fight."
"Is he serious? Since when does the likes of a ghoul care about fairness?" Hannah questioned.
"I can see I am no match." Botrox said as he held out his claw and fired some energy blasts near them to cover himself. After that, he just ran off on his own.
"He's running? What's the deal?" Timmy questioned.
"I think he wants us to follow." Pro said. "Otherwise, a portal would have opened up and he would have escaped through there. We can't let him roam freely, but we have to be careful. This has to be a trap, so let's be on guard." All of them agreed to that and were off after him. They all split and tried to find where that ghoul could have gone. Austin searched as to where he could have been hiding. He looked around until he saw Botrox slip into a parking garage.
"There you are!" Austin said as he chased after him. He went into the building and looked around for something suspicious. "I know you're in here! I saw you run in here! You might as well just come out!" He searched around for where Botrox could be, but Botrox found him first. He attacked Austing by slashing his claw right in Austin's back.
"Now I have you!" Botrox said as he grabbed a hold of Austin and smashed the gem on his head against Austin. When that happened, some sort of energy flowed through the two of them. When they separated, Austin pulled himself together, but then he realized what happened to him. He looked just like Botrox now.
"What the heck?! What did you do to me?!" Austin said. He looked at Botrox, but he saw himself.
"I switched our bodies." Botrox said. "That means you are the ghoul now, and I'm the blue ranger. With this, I can destroy your base and your team from the inside."
"No!" Austin called as he tried to stop him, but Botrox used Austin's own saber against him and slashed against him.
"Now to make sure you can't tell anyone!" Botrox said as he slashed Austin near the neck and was just enough to damage the voice. When Austin tried to speak, nothing was coming out right because that attack damaged the voice. "This also means that all your powers are mine." He used Austin's own power and blasted him right out a window. That seems to have taken care of him. Which means no one is going to be able to tell the difference.
"Austin!" Botrox looked and saw the other rangers arrived, but they were too late and didn't suspect a thing. "Are you okay? Where did that ghoul go? We heard noises coming from here." Lance questioned.
"He escaped." Botrox said as he kept up the act. "We better be ready for when he shows up. Let's get back to our base and try to come up with a plan."
"Uh... We can't. We've got school, and we need to get going." Hannah said. "You've also got that big test, remember? It will have to wait."
"You all hurry to school. I'll keep my eyes open and let you know if I find anything." Pro said. That didn't go as planned, but Botrox had to sell the act just long enough until he can make his move. As for the real Austin, he was trying to recover after that tumble. He was able to get back on his monster feet, but he saw his team leaving and had Botrox with them. He tried to call to them, but nothing was coming out right.
'Oh no. They don't know that's a fake. I've got to figure out how to warn them before it's too late.' Austin thought as he tried to go after them.

The Underworld
"All went just as I said it would." Severin said. "Botrox's unique ability to switch bodies has worked, and he's now taken refuge in the blue ranger's body. Once he finds the location of their base, we can launch our attack."
"Not bad, Severin. We can destroy the rangers from the inside with this." Prince Ghoular said.
"Brilliant plan, but the rangers aren't heading for their base at the moment." Gar said.
"Don't be jealous simply because I had an idea that can actually work." Severin teased with Gar getting annoyed. "All good things come to those who wait. Once Botrox finds the location of their base, we can begin our own attack and eliminate them."
"Excellent. We'll just have to wait until then and hope that the rangers don't get suspicious." Prince Ghoular said. It was now a waiting game for them, but the only one who can warn the rangers is unable to communicate with them.

The School
The rangers made it to the school, and still unaware that they have an enemy among them. Botrox was even able to morph and demorph whenever he wanted. However, being surrounded by so many humans has Botrox tempted to lash out and attack. Knowing he can't, he tried to restrain himself.
"See you later, Austin. Good luck with the test." Timmy said as they all got what their books and hurried off to class.
"Thanks." Botrox said as the bell went off and everyone went to class, but he remained where he was. "Luck is all you rangers will have left." Disregarding the whole thing with school, Botrox decided to just leave and finish his mission. "I don't have time for this nonsense. I'll have to find their base on my own." He was on his way out and was about to reach the door.
"Mr. Acers!" A teacher called and spotted him. "What is the meaning of this? You're leaving during school hours? I hope you have a good reason for that." Botrox's reason was that he didn't want to deal with humans, but he had a way other than verbally speaking that. As for the real Austin, he tried to make his way to the school and was able to get there.
'I made it! I've got to find the others!' Austin thought as he hurried to get in, but the real Botrox already left the place. Meanwhile, the other rangers were going on with regular class.
"Hey, Johnny. Did Austin seem okay to you?" Lance asked.
"I guess. Why?" Johnny questioned.
"Earlier, he was focused on his studies while doing his work back at Chalice. Then, when we got here, he acted like that it didn't matter." Lance claimed. "Something seemed just a little bit different."
"Maybe he thinks he can handle it now." Johnny said as he didn't seem concerned, but Lance's instincts were telling him something different. After that, they both heard someone screaming in the halls. When they heard that, they both hurried out and were joined by Timmy and Hannah.
"What's going on?!" Timmy said.
"That!" Johnny said as they were faced with who they thought was the real Botrox.
'There they are, but how can I convince them who I am?' Austin thought. 'Not good. That monster isn't with them either.'
"What's he doing here?" Timmy questioned.
"I don't know, but he's not staying." Johnny said. Austin moved closer to them to try and talk to them, but they mistakenly thought he was attacking. Johnny was the first one to fight back as he tried attacking him, but Austin kept blocking every attack thrown at him. Hannah joined in as she rolled off of Johnny's back and kicked Austin back.
'Guys, stop! It's me!' Austin thought, but there was no way for them to talk. All four of them kept going at him and tried to fight him off while Austin tried not to hurt them. Lance and Timmy grabbed a hold of him, but Austin was able to throw them off. 'This isn't working. I've got to find that ghoul and figure out how to switch back.' He decided to just run out of there since he was getting nowhere like this.
"What was that about? What was he doing here?" Hannah questioned.
"I don't know. Where's Austin? He should have heard that scream." Lance said.
"Hey! Over here!" Hannah said as they found a teacher on the ground. "Are you okay? Did that monster attack you?"
"No. I just got scared as I was on my way to speak with the principle about Mr. Acers walking out of the school." The teacher said. The rangers found that even stranger. Why would Austin just walk out of the school, they wondered.

Pro
Pro was back at Chalice and was trying to keep his eyes open for the ghoul. Just then, the mystic waters alerted him to something. He looked and saw that it was Austin in the pool.
"What's this? Why is this alerting me about Austin?" Pro questioned as this didn't make sense to him. The mystic waters are never wrong, but he knew something was off. He had to figure out what this meant, and so he took Austin's horse to find the truth.
...
Botrox
Being in Austin's body, Botrox wondered around to try and find where the rangers could be hiding out. Since he's in Austin's body, no one suspects a thing. The problem was that he has no idea where the base is. He just kept looking around for anything that might be the base for the rangers until he heard galloping. He looked to see that Pro was riding in with Austin's horse.
"Austin! Wait a minute!" Pro called.
"Hey, Pro. Is something wrong?" Botrox questioned.
"Why are you not in school?" Pro questioned.
"We have more important things going on. Maybe we should go back to our base." Botrox said. Pro thought this was weird, but when he mounted off the horse. When he did, the horse seemed to have acted rather scared. When Botrox got even closer, the horse just took off. That confirmed to Pro that something was wrong.
"Who are you? You're not Austin." Pro said.
"Why? Just because some dumb horse got scared?" Botrox said.
"I think you mean your horse." Pro said. Botrox was getting rather tired of the act.
"You caught me, Silver. I was getting tired of pretending to be a goodie ranger." Botrox claimed as he took Austin's morpher and actually morphed.
"Botrox!" Pro called as he could see it and instantly morphed. "You made a big mistake!" He charged right at Botrox with the two of them clashing swords against each other. It was a pure sword fight as the two of them fought against each other. When Botrox swung his sword down, Pro deflected it and gave him a powerful slash that knocked Botrox off his feet. When Pro swung his sword down, Botrox held up his sword and stopped it.
"Careful, Silver. You destroy me and your friend's body is lost forever." Botrox claimed. "Blue Ranger will never be able to get his body back."
"Monster!" Pro called. Botrox swung his leg up and kicked him off. When Botrox got back up, he slashed against Pro a few times and knocked him away. "I've got to warn the others." He reached for his morpher to warn the others about the situation.
"No you don't!" Botrox called as he unleashed a power slash and blasted Pro with it. "Time to go!" He hurried off and hoped to complete his mission before the rangers can learn anything.

Austin
'What am I going to do?' Austin wondered as he was down in the dumps. 'How can I convince the others it's me?' It was starting to look hopeless because the rangers will destroy him once they see him. 'What is he even after? What does he gain by switching bodies with me? It can't just be for my destruction.' He thought of what Botrox was planning until he remembered something.
"With this, I can destroy your base and your team from the inside."
'That's it! He wants the location of Chalice so he and the other ghouls can attack! He can take it down from the inside! I've got to stop him!' Austin thought and can only hope he's not too late. Luckily for him, he spotted his body. 'There he is!' He can't let him slip away again as he charged right at him.
"Where could there base be?" Bottom questioned as he looked around for it until he was suddenly tackled by Austin and tried to hold him down. "You?! Don't be stupid, ranger! Destroy me and you lose your body forever."
'I don't care. It's better than letting you use it.' Austin thought as he fought back. He tossed Botrox, and then attacked by slashing his claws against him. He gave him one more powerful slash that knocked him down and caused him to demorph. 'Time to get it back!' He attempted to do just that, but a series of shots came and stopped him.
"Hold it!" Lance called as he and the other rangers showed up and surrounded him. "No more running for you. Austin, are you okay?"
"Yeah. Let's just finish him off." Botrox said.
"Right." Lance said as they all prepared to do just that. Austin pleaded them not to, but he still can't talk to them. Luckily, Pro showed up.
"Wait! Don't!" Pro said as he stopped Lance.
"Just in time, Pro." Timmy said.
"Wait!" Pro said.
"We can't. Let's finish this ghoul." Botrox said.
"No! Stop! We don't know who is who. He switched bodies with Austin." Pro informed.
"What?! Really?!" Johnny said.
"That would explain his behavior." Lance said
"We did, but we switched back. Let's just finish him." Botrox said.
"It sounds like Austin." Hannah said.
"We have to be certain or we risk destroying our own." Pro warned. How can they figure this out? Just then, they heard a horse. They all looked and saw one of the ranger's horses there. "Austin's horse! I was worried about it."
"That's it!" Lance said as he had an idea. He hurried over to it and guided it over.
"What are you doing?" Botrox questioned.
"He'll know who's who." Lance said. He brought the horse over to who they thought was Austin, but the horse got scared. That was when Austin came over and settled it. The horse was starting to get calmer because of him and accepted him. That means that has to be the real Austin and the others couldn't believe it.
"Imposter!" Pro called as he and Lance grabbed Botrox.
"Austin! Now!" Lance called. Austin finally had his chance as he grabbed a hold of his body and switched the same way that Botrox did earlier with Botrox being knocked back. "Austin, is that you?"
"It is. Thanks, guys." Austin said. However Boxtrox got back up and was ready for a fight.
"Now!" Lance called. The other rangers attacked as they unleashed all their power against Botrox and was able to completely destroy him, as well as the ghouls chances of ever finding Chalice.
...
Chalice
After what happened, Austin was in a better mood. His horse is the reason he got out of that mess. That's why he was playing with it and giving it more love and attention.
"There you are. Nice to see you playing with your horse." Lance said.
"Well, I owe him. Being a ranger might be tough, but it is good that it's us." Austin said. "That whole thing made me remember that it's good we're the rangers because we're the right people for the job."
"Good you think that. You'll need to think of something to tell your teachers and parents for when Botrox made you skip school." Lance warned. Austin didn't like that. It is a good thing he's blue instead of guys like Botrox. He has to bring order while they bring chaos.
