Episode 348: Spook Louder!
After taking their leave of Saffron City, Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Roxas, Xion, Ash, Leaf, Chase, Elaine, Michael, Rei, Pikachu, Angel, Xipak, Celeste, Eevee, Azurill, Volt, and Maple are wondering through the forest in the dead of night, under a full moon. Dark clouds gathered around the moon.
"Okay, I think we may have taken a wrong turn," Rei said.
"I can't see a Pokémon Center on the PokéNav app," Michael said.
"You never know if something would come out from the trees," Xion said.
"After that brawl with the Nobodies, I don't think we have the strength to fight even Heartless or Unversed," Roxas said.
"What do you mean 'we'? You did the fighting," Riku pointed out.
"Yeah, I'd be concerned about Heartless, Nobodies, and Unversed, but I'm more worried about those clouds above us. It looks like a storm is going to be on top of us unless we find some shelter and fast," Sora said.
"Sora's right. We must find some shelter before that happens," Rei said.
"But, where are we gonna find some shelter?" Elaine asked.
"Eevee," Maple said.
"Yeah, it's not like it's just gonna show itself to us," Chase said. The Pokémon's ears perked up.
"Pika," Pikachu said. Everyone turned to the Pokémon.
"What is it?" Kairi asked.
The Pikachu and Eevee ran off ahead.
"Hey, wait up!" Sora called out as the group ran after them. They finally caught up with them. "Look at that."
"It's a ghost town," Rei said.
"A ghost town? As in a town for ghosts?" Chase asked, feeling scared.
"No, it's only called that because no one lived in this town for years. And judging by how old it looks, I would say over a hundred years," Riku said.
"Eevee," Eevee said.
"But if there aren't any ghosts living here, then there could be Ghost-type Pokémon living down there," Xion said.
"She's right. It looks like the kind of place a Gastly would make itself home at," Leaf said.
"Maybe so, but I think we should find a place to sleep because we need to rest. And by the gathering of those clouds, our choices are very limited," Rei said.
Agreeing with her, the group began to make their way down to the ghost town to find a place to sleep.
Somewhere in the town, a gang of Gastly and Haunter are rather bored.
"We don't have no fun anymore." - Gastly 1 subtitle.
"Well, nobody around here is scared." - Haunter 1 subtitle.
"That's because we scared away everyone who comes here. Maybe we're just too good." - Haunter 2 subtitle. It laughed. A Gastly looked out the window and spotted the group.
"Hey, guys! Look! We got ourselves some potential victims literally walking our way!" - Gastly 2 subtitle. The Ghost-types gathered to the window and saw them, too.
"Hey, they look easy to scare." - Haunter 2 subtitle.
"Yeah, let's have some fun with 'em." - Gastly 1 subtitle.
"Maybe we can scare the pants off them 'em!" - Gastly 2 subtitle.
The Ghost-type Pokémon then float up to prepare to scare the group.
Over at Count Ernesh's mansion, Insidious has summoned Count Ernesh over the Nobodies suddenly appearing in Saffron City.
"I was under the impression that the Nobodies were no longer among us after Organization XIII's downfall," Count Ernesh said.
"Despite the Organization's defeat, the Nobodies are still bound to the Heartless, so like the darkness itself, the Nobodies will not disappear so easily. And with Organization XIII no longer in power, they have become free agents like the Heartless," Insidious said.
"Perhaps, I have underestimated the resiliency of the Nobodies. A mistake I will not make again, my master," Count Ernesh said.
"Indeed not. We must keep ourselves aware of any other occurrences. And we must approach these occurrences with caution," Insidious said.
"I agree, Master. I will keep a close watch for any of them until our time to reveal ourselves arrives," Count Ernesh said.
Back at the ghost town, the group kept their eyes opened for a good place to sleep when they spotted a tunnel ahead of them.
"A tunnel," Michael said.
"This must have been a mine back in the day. This would be a good place to sleep in before it begins to rain," Rei said.
Before anyone says anything, they saw a pair of light purple eyes leering at them.
"Uh, do you see what I see?" Elaine asked.
"Vee?" Maple asked.
"If you're talking about those eyes looking back at us, then I can say it's a big, fat yes," Roxas said. It shows an image of a giant purple ghost, making everyone shake in fear. Once it came close enough to them, their skins turned pale white for a moment and they began to run off, screaming.
It is revealed to be the Gastly and Haunter, laughing having in succeeded in scaring them.
"I told you that they look easy." - Haunter 2 subtitle.
"I hope they don't leave so soon, because we're not done having fun with them yet." - Gastly 2 subtitle.
The Ghost-types just laughed very hard. The group went to a random building and behind a counter. They were all panting heavily from all the running they did.
"Some Keyblade wielders you are. Running away from a ghost," Chase said.
"Hey, everybody gets scared of ghosts every now and then," Sora said.
"Yeah. Sora and I were scared off by a ghost in the Pokémon Tower in Lavender Town," Kairi said.
"But I wonder if it's still out there," Leaf said.
"One of us will have to take a look and see if it's still out there," Michael said.
"He's right. But who's going to do that?" Roxas asked.
"I think it should be Sora. So, Sora, get up and look," Riku said.
"Yeah, Sora, go and look," Roxas said.
"No way, José," Sora said.
"Yes way, José," Roxas said.
"Why should I have a look? It should be Chase since it was his idea," Sora said.
"I would, but I don't wanna see it," Chase said.
"Because you're scared," Elaine said.
"I'm not scared. I only ran because you did!" Chase argued.
"Enough!" Rei stated, stopping the argument. "We'll all have a look at the exact same time," Rei said.
With that said, they looked up and they didn't see any ghost outside.
"There's nothing there," Ash said.
"That's a relief," Naminé said. They hear the sound of dripping water. It then begins to rain.
"Look at that, it's starting to rain," Xion said.
"We can't go anywhere, so we have no choice to spend the night," Rei said.
"I was afraid you'd say that," Elaine said.
"Yeah, that ghost is still out there," Michael said.
"Well, we can't do a thing about it until morning," Rei said.
"She's right. The rain will stop by the time we wake up," Riku said.
Too tired to retort, everyone unrolled their sleeping bags and they fell right asleep. As they slept, they weren't aware of the Gastly and Haunter arriving in the room. They grinned as they winked at each other. The first Haunter knocked on Volt's head. Waking up, he sees the Haunter. It stuck out its tongue, so Volt fired Thunder Shock at the Haunter, so it disappeared. This wakes up Volt.
"Volt, what's going on?" Chase asked in a tired tone.
"Pika, Pika, Pika, Pika, Pika, Pika!" Volt said, trying to explain. Chase just yawned.
"Listen, Volt, we can't have you waking us up just because you had a bad dream. Go to sleep," Chase said, laying back down. Volt just huffed as he went back to sleep. The second Haunter took out some whipped cream and applied it onto Riku's hand while the first Haunter held a feather. The second Haunter placed the canister next to Sora. The first Haunter then tickles Riku's nose, making him smack it with cream all over his face.
"What the?! What was that?!" Riku exclaimed as he saw the canister. He angrily gets up and he pulled Sora by the sleeping bag.
"Hey!" Sora yelped. He looked at Riku with an angry look. "Why did you do that for?"
"Because you pulled that whipped cream trick on me, that's why!" Riku said.
"I didn't do that!" Sora said.
"Yeah, then what's that?" Riku asked, pointing at the canister. Sora winced when he saw it.
"I don't remember having that!" Sora said.
"Cut out the clowning and get some sleep!" Riku said. Riku lays back down and falls asleep, leaving Sora puzzled.
"What I do?" Sora asked himself. Sora then fell right back to sleep. As they went back to sleep, the Ghost-types took them all by the sleeping bags and they fell out of them. "I swear, I didn't do it this time." Laughing is then heard.
"It's the ghost," Michael said.
"Should have known that ghost would do this to us," Rei said.
"How am I supposed to sleep with this going on?" Elaine asked.
"Vee," Maple said.
"We gotta get rid of the ghost and fast," Rei said.
"How do we do that, Master?" Kairi asked.
"With our Keyblades, that's how. That ghost is not gonna stop tormenting us, so the only way it'll stop if it's stopped," Rei said.
"If it had to be that way," Xion said.
"We'll separate and take it by surprise. Sora, Roxas, Riku, Leaf, Chase, you're with me, and we'll check the upstairs. The rest of you will check the rest of the rooms down here," Rei said.
With that said, Sora, Riku, Roxas, Leaf, Chase, Rei, Pikachu, Eevee, Xipak, and Volt went one way while Kairi, Naminé, Xion, Ash, Elaine, Michael, Angel, Azurill, Celeste, and Maple went another way.
As Sora, Riku, Roxas, Leaf, Chase, Rei, Pikachu, Eevee, Xipak, and Volt went up stairs, they looked around for any signs of the ghost, unaware of the first Gastly and the first Haunter were in the room with them.
The first Haunter took out an old Pikachu wind-up toy and turns the key on it. The wind-up toy is placed on the floor and it begins to walk. Hearing the sound, they all turned to see the toy walking.
"Is that a Pikachu toy?" Roxas asked.
"Yeah, but it's really cute," Leaf said. Suddenly, a sound is heard as a pie hits her in the face. She scooped some cream off her face and tasted it. "Banana cream."
"Where did that pie come from?" Chase asked.
Pies strikes the humans and Pokémon in the face.
"You had to ask," Riku said.
"I hate cream pie," Chase said. He gets hit in the face with another pie, but it's chocolate this time. He managed to get the cream off his face. "I do like chocolate." He wipes the chocolate off his face. They all got the cream off their faces.
Over to Kairi, Naminé, Ash, Xion, Elaine, Michael, Angel, Azurill, Celeste, and Maple are searching downstairs when the second Gastly and second Haunter grabbed some chains and rattled them around.
"You hear that?" Xion asked.
"Sounds like the rattling of chains," Ash said. The chains came flying out. Kairi quickly summoned her Keyblade and uses it to deflect the chains.
"And I have a feeling the ghost is behind it," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel agreed.
Dishes suddenly levitate and are hurled at the squad, but Naminé, Xion, Ash, and Michael quickly summoned their Keyblades and used them to deflect the dishes thrown at them.
"This is no way to have the dishes washed!" Michael exclaimed.
"It'll take more than that to scare us off!" Ash said. Just then several garbage cans come flying at them. They all flinched and they quickly ducked their heads as the trash cans goes out the window. "The trash sure wanted to take us out."
"Not if I have anything to say about it," Kairi said, casting a crystal spell. The magic attack surprised the second Gastly and second Haunter, making them drop their invisibility trick. "What? It was only a couple of Ghost-type Pokémon."
"You mean, they were really Pokémon pretending to be spooks?" Elaine asked, feeling annoyed.
"It's not unusual for Ghost-type Pokémon to trick human beings," Ash said.
Just then, pies come flying and hits them all in the face.
"And they threw pies right in our faces," Naminé said. Michael tastes the pie substance on his face.
"Raspberry," Michael said.
Outside, Jigglypuff is still searching for an audience to sing for when a pie hits her in the face. She angrily rubs the pie off her face.
"PUFF!" Jigglypuff huffed.
Back upstairs, the first Haunter rang a cowbell, surprising them. Leaf casts a fire spell, surprising the Ghost-types.
"What the?!" Leaf exclaimed.
"Of course! A Gastly and a Haunter!" Riku said.
"Eevee!" Riku said.
"Eevee! Shadow Ball!" Riku ordered. Eevee fired Shadow Ball at the Ghost-types, but they dodged it and fought back by lifting Eevee in the air. "That was Psychic!"
The first Gastly and first Haunter blew a raspberry at them and they laughed.
"So, it was just Ghost-type Pokémon that was messing with us," Roxas said.
"Pikachu," Xipak said.
"They won't get away with it. Pikachu! Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu fired Thunderbolt at the first Gastly and first Haunter, but they fought back with a Shadow Ball. An explosion occurred between them. Using the smoke for cover, the Ghost-types made their escape through the wall. They saw that they were gone when the smoke cleared. "They got away."
"But they didn't go far, I can say," Chase said.
"They'll try to attack us again, so we'll have to be ready for them when they come back," Rei said.
Agreeing with her, they came back downstairs as they saw Kairi, Naminé, Ash, Xion, Elaine, Michael, Angel, Azurill, Celeste, and Maple wiping off the pie that struck their faces.
"You had a pie on your faces again, too, huh?" Sora asked.
"We did," Kairi, Naminé, Ash, Xion, Elaine, and Michael deadpanned.
"And we saw that it was a Gastly and Haunter that was playing a trick on us," Naminé said.
"Same with us," Riku said.
"And they now know we're on to them," Chase said.
"Well, we're gonna be ready for them," Michael said.
"Michael's right. Ghost-type Pokémon are vulnerable to Dark-types, we can use our Dark-types to deal with them," Sora said.
"Okay, let's get started," Riku said, taking out a Pokéball and let out his Persian as Sora took out his Pokéball and let out his Weavile. Stars swirls around Weavile. Michael took out two Pokéballs and let out his Mightyena and Houndoom. Ash has let out his Shiftry.
"Good thinking of using Dark-types, Sora," Ash said.
"Those Pokémon had their fun, but the fun ends here," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Weavile," Weavile said.
"So, as soon as we see them, we launch our attack on them," Sora said.
"Sounds like a plan," Michael said.
With that said, the group went out to find the Ghost-types to deal with them.
Meanwhile, Weevil and Rex were out, searching for Sora and his friends when two pies hits them in the face.
"Where those pies come from?" Rex asked.
"I hate pecan!" Weevil exclaimed.
Back at the ghost town, the hunt for the Ghost-types went on as they looked around for them, but they were unaware of the Ghost-types hovering around them. By that time, it has stopped raining, but it didn't mean it wouldn't rain again soon.
"They gotta be here somewhere," Roxas said.
"Yeah, but where?" Chase asked. The two Haunter took out some firecrackers and lit them. They threw them at the group and they yelped from the small explosion.
"Not too far," Rei said.
The two Gastly and the two Haunter turned visible and they laughed and taunted them.
"Gastly, Haunter! We're challenging you four to a Pokémon battle! If we win, you leave us alone!" Sora said. The Ghost-types accepted the terms and got ready to battle. "Okay, Weavile! You're going in!"
"You too, Shiftry!" Ash said.
"Mightyena, Houndoom! Go!" Michael said.
"Alright, Persian! You're going in!" Riku said. Persian purred. "Persian! Use Quash!" Persian came at the first Gastly and placed its paw on the Gas Pokémon.
"Weavile! Use Night Slash!" Sora ordered.
"Mightyena! Shadow Ball! Houndoom! Dark Pulse!" Michael ordered.
"Shiftry! Dark Pulse! Ash ordered.
Weavile slashed at the second Haunter, hitting it as Mightyena fired a Shadow Ball, hitting the second Gastly and Mightyena fired a Dark Pulse, hitting the first Haunter. The Haunter came at Persian and lands a hit with Shadow Claw. Shiftry strikes them with Dark Pulse.
"Persian! Power Gem!" Riku ordered. Persian fired Power Gem, hitting the two Haunter. The Gastly attempts to use Psychic on the Dark-types, but they have zero effect on them. "Nice try!"
"That's one of the great things about having Dark-type Pokémon. They can resist Psychic-type attacks," Michael said.
"Another reason why I thought of Dark-types. Okay, Weavile! Use Ice Spinner!" Sora ordered. Weavile spins around while his feet is covered in ice. Weavile lands a hit onto the two Gastly. "Use Feint Attack!" Weavile vanished and reappeared to land a hit. "Use Icicle Crash!" Weavile unleashed icicles at the Ghost-types, but they dodged them from left to right.
"Mightyena! Use Crunch! Houndoom! Fire Fang!" Michael ordered. Mightyena and Houndoom came at the first Gastly and the second Haunter with their bite attacks.
"Persian! Night Slash!" Riku ordered. Persian came at the first Haunter with a Night Slash. "Power Gem!" Persian fired Power Gem, hitting the second Gastly.
"Shiftry! Use Leaf Storm!" Shiftry unleashed Leaf Storm, catching them in it.
Having enough the Ghost-types flees from their attacks and right out of the town.
"Well, that takes care of them," Michael said.
"Yes, and now, I'm really tired after all that excitement," Kairi said with a yawn.
"So am I. Let's go," Riku said as they head back to the building they were sleeping in earlier. "Hey, Sora. Sorry for accusing you like that."
"Don't sweat it, Riku. I'd feel the same way, too," Sora said.
The Ghost-types have gotten far away as possible, panting in exhaustion.
"You said they looked easy." - Haunter 1 subtitle. It points at the second Haunter.
"They did, but I didn't know they would battle us with those Dark-types." - Haunter 2 subtitle.
"We must be losing our touch." - Gastly 2 subtitle.
"We have to be if we're out of practice." - Gastly 1 subtitle. Four pies hits the Ghost-types in the face.
On the next morning, everyone all woke up, feeling much better despite the exciting night they had.
"Man, I slept like a Snorlax," Roxas said.
"So did I. At least it's a beautiful day today," Elaine said.
"It sure is. And look at that," Sora said, pointing to the rainbow above them.
"How lucky we are to see such a pretty rainbow," Leaf said.
"Very lucky," Rei said.
A little while later, the group took their leave of the ghost town and continued on their way through the Kanto region. Chase has come across a wild Growlithe, but it is a bright yellow color. Chase was awestruck by the Growlithe's coloring, so he sent out his Geodude to deal with it.
"Geodude! Rollout!" Chase ordered. Geodude rolls into the Growlithe, so it fights back with a Bite. Geodude plowed into Growlithe with another Rollout, dealing some heavy damage. Chase took out a Pokéball and threw it. The Puppy Pokémon flows inside and the Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Chase's Pokémon Box goes off asking him if he wants to keep Growlithe with him. He chose to send Growlithe to Professor Oak's lab. "I got myself a Growlithe, but in a different color."
Over to Elaine, she came across a wild Ponyta. She does her best to stay out of sights of the Fire Horse Pokémon.
"Let's see what the Pokédex says about Ponyta," Elaine took out her Rotom Phone and scanned it.
Ponyta, the Fire Horse Pokémon

Capable of jumping incredibly high. Its hooves and sturdy legs absorb the impact of a hard landing.
"I have always wanted a Ponyta. And now, I think I'll catch one," Elaine said. She took out a Razz Berry and threw it close to it. Seeing the berry, Ponyta canters toward it and eats it. Elaine threw a Pokéball, making Ponyta flow inside. The Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Elaine's Pokémon Box asking her if she wants to keep Ponyta with her. She chose to send her Ponyta to Professor Oak's lab. "Now, I have my own Ponyta."
Over to Roxas, he comes across a male Nidoran and it was scowling right at Roxas. He took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Pidgeotto!" Roxas called out. His Pokéball opened and his Pidgeotto came out to battle. "Use Gust!" Pidgeotto flapped its wings and blew the male Nidoran in the gust. He then charges at the Bird Pokémon, pointing his horn at it. "That Nidoran's using Horn Attack! Dodge it!" Pidgeotto climbed to dodge the male Nidoran's Horn Attack. "Use Wing Attack!" Pidgeotto lands a hit with its Wing Attack, hitting the male Nidoran. Roxas took out a Pokéball and threw it. The male Nidoran flows inside and the Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Roxas's Pokémon Box goes off asking him if he wants to keep the male Nidoran with him. He chose to keep him in exchange for Rattata. "Great job, Pidgeotto. You were awesome." The Bird Pokémon cooed from the compliment.
Roxas went and searched for more Pokémon to catch. He has Xipak, Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle battle against a Caterpie, a Spearow, an Ekans, a Weedle, a Mankey, a Munchlax, a Mime Jr, an Abra, a Doduo, Psyduck, a Venonat, a Kantonian Meowth, a Bellsprout, a Paras, a Growlithe, and a Farfetch'd. He sent them all to Professor Oak's lab.
"Pikachu," Xipak said.
"You got that right, buddy. We caught ourselves quite a haul," Roxas said, proudly.
"Chu," Xipak said.
After that, he rejoined the others as Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Ash, Leaf, and Michael were sitting before Rei.
"It's about time you got here," Sora said.
"Sorry that I took so long. I was only catching some more Pokémon, and I ended up with quite a haul," Roxas said.
"I'm glad that you're feeling proud of yourself, Roxas. Now that you're here, we can begin today's lesson," Rei said.
"Yes, Master," Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Roxas, Xion, Ash, Leaf, and Michael said in unison. Just then, pies hits them all in the face.
"Who threw those pies?" Rei asked.
"Who threw those pies?" Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Roxas, Xion, Ash, Leaf, and Michael asked in unison.
Well, we certainly had a comical adventure involving Ghost-type Pokémon, but at least they made it out okay. But there is a question I have on my mind right now. Who was it that was throwing those pies?
Just then, a middle-aged man came to the scene. He wore a black suit with a white shirt underneath, and he wore black shoes. He has graying brown hair and light brown eyes.
"Oh, I threw the pies!" The man said. He laughed before a pie hits him in the face.
