Chapter 4

Pain. It was the only feeling that crossed Wendy's body. She could still feel the physical punch towards her stomach. She had lost consciousness without so much as a fight after being jumped. For a while her body seemed to float until something cold liquidy touched her body. Easing her from the pain as her breathing slowed and the pain dissipated. It was a calming sensation as Wendy's breathing slowly and a warm fuzzy feeling came over her body. For a while she laid there dreaming peacefully until something cold dosed her in her sleep. Wendy stumbled awake as she was drenched in what she assumed was water. She yelped and took a moment to gather her wit and to see a pair of blue eyes, really deep blue. Almost non human, attached to a young woman who was no taller than 50 centimeters at the most. Wearing a strange blue shirt with a light blue transparent weave to follow containing sigils and symbols Wendy didn't understand. The woman's skin was a dark blue almost like Juvia when she was using her magic. In the center of her forehead was a green gem firmly squared.

Huh, Wendy looked around as memories from last night returned towards her. She was assisting Natsu in moving cursed items when the two of them got separated. The villagers were doing some sort of traditional thing with a candle. It caught her attention and she got distracted when she saw it. A small fox with black fur with a golden sigil of three x crossed through one another. It was the first time since she was very little having seen one. That's when she heard a man scream out in rage at her in a language she understood, but was like a drunk purposely mispronouncing his words. That's when she was attacked and the last thing she remembered was the physical blow to the back of her head. The strange girl was staring at her patiently waiting for Wendy to realize she had phased out.

"Hello!" She shouted with an overabundance of excitement. "It is me, the wonderful and terrifying Azuki!" Wendy looked at the woman puzzled at what that was supposed to mean. She was more than certainly a child or had a child-like personality.

"Uhmm yeah…hello Azuki I'm Wendy Marvell I'm a wizard of the Fairy Tail guild," Wendy said. "Have you seen Carla? And do you know where we are?"

Azuki raised an eyebrow at this, "You're not a fairy. You're a Black Fox!" Wendy scratched the back of her head confused at the statement. "Now then have you seen the pink kitty that disappeared."

"Carla? Where is she?" Wendy asked the woman who looked at her puzzled.

"Is that Kitty's name?" Azuki asked.

"Yes," Wendy said. "So at least she's here."

"I know kitty ran away from me," fake tears formed in her eyes. Wendy was more focused on Azuki than she was on her surroundings as Carla was silently flying in the air trying to avoid the rather strange person who was anything, but normal.

"Well we can't stay here," Azuki said. She grabbed Wendy's arm with a blunt force and suddenly her entire body was transformed into a liquid including Wendy's. As the two of them slipped through the metal bars and ended up on the other side. There weren't that many jail cells and it looked like the place was empty. A few people lay unconscious and Wendy wasn't sure what caused it, but Azuki kept running and she struggled to keep up as Carla flew behind them. "Now then follow me and I'll get you out of here. It smells so delicious!" Before Wendy could even respond Azuki quickly darted to the side and Wendy followed her. Carla flew before finally landing near her. They made their way through the complex maze and Wendy could do nothing, but follow Azuki at this point. "And here we are! Delicious food!"

It was a decent sized dining hall that was roughly the size of Fairy Tail main hall. It could easily seat hundreds of people. With a giant wooden stage for celebration or entertainment. Giant golden drapes displayed with a sigil of a white clover. The room had statues, torches and was well lit for night time festivities. Wendy watched as Azuki was gargling water in her throat looking at the food that had been laid out. "I thought you said you know the way out of here."

"Food delicious food," Azuki said and rushed over towards the table. Without thinking she picked up the food and swallowed it whole. She devoured more food than Natsu would in a day. It was like the food disappeared and soon voices could be heard and that's when a woman walked into the room. She screamed out in a voice Wendy couldn't understand, but she had the white clover insignia. Others came running and Wendy ran over to Azuki who was too distracted by food.

"We need to get out of here," Wendy said. Azuki laid on the table gargling water out of her throat enjoying her gluttony. Suddenly Carla flew and locked the main door which resulted in slamming against it. "Oh why did I trust you." The door kicked and Wendy took a combative stance. Finally Azuki got off the table, her eyes gleaming with pleasure.

"Come on, it's time to get out of here," Carla was in Wendy's hand when Azuki grabbed hers. All three of their bodies turned into water as she jumped in the liquid form into a cup. With that their body spread throughout the world. From this very realm it was beyond anything Wendy could understand. All around her, them? Wendy wasn't certain she could feel the essence of all life itself. Feel Lucy, Erza the beating heart of Natsu. Even if she wanted to call out she couldn't because she had no mouth to scream. It was an unremitting horror. Soon a flash formed and that was the last thing Wendy could remember.
