What's good everyone?! I hope you are all well and ready for a new chapter. This fanfic is really fun to write along with my spiderman one as well. I'm happy to see people still following the story and thank you for that! Enjoy the chapter!

Chapter 24: Determination

-With Kyoka and Kaminari-

Kyoka ran up stairway after stairway to find the floor with the bomb and her opponent. As she ran she is surprised to hear explosions going off already, making her hope the greenette is doing alright. Once she gets to the top of her current stairway she sees kaminari standing jn front of a paper mache bomb. The look of the bomb makes her sweat drop a bit at the thought of having a whole fake city but a arts and crafts bomb. Kaminari walks back and forth talking to himself in a annoyed tone.

"We're supposed to work as a team but nooooo. What's that guy's deal anyway? I feel bad for that other dude."

Kyoka's jacks let her hear what the boy is saying and nods in agreement. She is happy to go against him rather than the human bomb downstairs. Taking out the smoke bomb she carefully uses the office supplies and cubicles on the floor to sneak closer to Kaminari and the bomb. Once he turns around to walk the other way Kyoka takes the opportunity to run towards the boy and throw down the smoke bomb. As soon as the small ball hits the ground a thick black smoke fills the room.

Kaminari shouts in surprise and walks around the smoke blindly. Kyoka also walks around the room not able to see well. She plugs one of her jacks into the side of her boot and a loud sound wave blasts a couple cubicles down in front of her. In a panic kaminiari charges electricity throughout his body at hearing the loud clutter. The purple haired girl is able to see the light from the electricity and knows where the orange haired boy is. She makes her way closer to the boy and uses her boot to blast a sound wave at his back making him fly forward.

He grunts in pain when he lands on the floor with a roll. Kyoka smiles at the attack landing and seeing her support item work. Kaminari slowly gets up with an annoyed look. He sticks his arms out wide and closes his eyes as he shouts.

"Indiscriminate Shock: Five Hundred Volts!"

Kyoka is surprised at the shout and jumps into a cubicle for a shield. The blast of electricity from the boy travels through the room shocking Kyoka but not too much due to the material of the cubicle covering her. She lets out a hiss of pain as her body starts to twitch. Kaminari looks around the room as the smoke starts to disappear. Kyoka falls to the ground due to the numbing from the electric attack. He hears the fall and slowly gets closer to her.

She looks up at him as he finds her in the destroyed cubicle. He grins at her with that same look from the quirk tests. His hand is held up with visible sparks of yellow electricity dancing around his fingers. Before he moves any closer Kyoka notices that her boot his facing towards him. She quickly plugs one jack into her boot again and sends a sound wave blasting at him. Kaminari flies back from the blast and lands against one of the cubicles disoriented.

Kyoka quickly gets up from the ground, ignoring the numbing feeling in her body. She sees that Kaminari is slowly getting his bearings after the sound blast. The bomb is in the back of the room making the girl sigh in annoyance. Not making the same mistake as her opponent she quickly rushes towards him to send one more attack. Before she can blast him again there is the sound of a huge explosion going off. The whole building is shaking and the windows crack then shatter.

Kyoka uses that moment to send another sound wave towards Kaminari as he makes it to his feet. The wave catches him off guard making him cover his ears in pain. As he tries to get the ringing in his ears to stop Kyoka makes a run for the bomb. As soon as she touches the paper mache bomb her thoughts instantly snap to Izuku. The intercom blares with the sound of All Might's voice making her sigh in half relief.

"The bomb has been secured! Hero team wins!"

As soon as the the symbol of peace calls the end of the training battle Kyoka rushes down the stairs to see how Izuku is doing. She can hear Kaminari calling after her but she could care less about him. As she makes her way down the building she can smell smoke and see the damage that the large explosion did to the strairs, walls, and windows.

-Back to Izuku-

Izuku is leaning against a wall with the least amount of damage from Katsuki's super explosion. He is using recovery breathing taught to him by Kyojuro to calm his body. Katsuki is lying on the ground still unconscious due to the amount of electricity that the greenette struck him with. The attack surprised Izuku as he wasn't able to shoot electricity from his hands like that till the moment the blonde let his guard down. He looks at his hands and notices that there are slight burn marks where the electric energy shot out from.

He can hear footsteps coming from the stairway and lets out a sigh of relief. As soon as he sees Kyoka come down the stairs he grins widely at her and gives a thumbs up. She sees the exhaustion on his face and body and immediately goes to help him up. Seeing the explosive blonde on the ground unconscious makes the rocker girl want to kick his side for scaring the crap out of her with that large explosion. When she helps the greenette up she notices his hero suit is damaged in different areas and has burn marks on it as well.

He notices that she is inspecting his well being and just smiles at her. The smile is contagious and makes her crack one back at him as they walk out of the building. A few minutes later Kaminari is seen dragging a still unconscious Katsuki out of the building while grumbling to himself about losing to a girl. Kyoka and Izuku are approached by a couple of robots pulling a medical bed and tell him to lay down. They see that Katsuki is also on a medical bed and taken to the infirmary. Izuku obliges and Kyoka helps him onto the bed and follows him and the robots to Recovery Girl's office.

Kaminari watches the two of them walk off, jealous that Izuku has the rocker girl's attention. The rest of the training matches continue as the students are paired and given hero or villain status. The results of each battle varies from each student.

-In the Infirmary-

Recovery Girl's office looks like a standard medical room with white walls and beds that line up against the wall. The robots places Izuku and Katsuki in a bed so they can recover from the training battle. Kyoka stands to the side watching as the robots inspect the boys. Recovery Girl is sitting at a desk looking over information displayed on a computer.

"If you aren't injured then I suggest you go back to your class."

The elderly hero says to Kyoka, bringing her out of her thoughts. The hero is wearing a costume that is similar to a nurse at a hospital with a giant syringe as a cane. The rocker girl is about to protest but the older woman raises her hand to silence her. Izuku gets her attention and nods to her about going back to the class. He smiles at her making her feel better.

"It's ok, I'll be fine. I'll see you after I'm all patched up."

She looks from him to Katsuki who is laying in the bed next to Izuku. She can't explain it but seeing the guy who hurt her friend like that makes her stomach heavy with... anger? She realizes that she hasn't been this worried about someone other than her family.

"I better be the first person you talk to after leaving this place."

Is all she says before turning around and exiting through the door. Izuku is slightly confused on the sudden change of the girl's mood. He could see in her eyes that something surprised her as well. The older woman let's out a soft chuckle at seeing the interaction between them. He hears her laughing and raises an eyebrow. She sees his expression and then gives him a deadpan look which confuses him even more.

"You boys are always clueless about these kinds of things."

She tells him as she takes out a clipboard with different papers on them. After going over the information she gets up from the chair and hobbles over to Izuku and Katsuki. Taking the blonde's pulse and writing stuff on the clipboard she turns to Izuku. He tries his best not to fanboy over one of his favorite heroes but it must be showing due to the hero's slight grin. Katsuki suddenly sits up quickly and looks around surprised.

"What the hell happened?!"

He shouts loudly and angrily while seeing Izuku and Recovery Girl staring back at him. He tries to get up but falls back onto the bed dizzily. Izuku tries to cover a laugh but the motion causes a jolt of pain to run up his arm. The greenette winces at the pain and Recovery Girl examines him next. Katsuki covers his eyes from the light feeling a uncomfortable throbbing in his head.

"Why do I have such a bad headache?!"

He shouts more making Recovery Girl look at him in annoyance. As if he feels the look the blonde gazes at her and a staring contest is formed. After a moment that seemed to stretch for an eternity Katsuki looked away with a grumble making the elderly woman smirk. When the memories of what happened come back to Katsuki he stares at Izuku with nothing but hatred. Knowing better though he keeps quiet for now letting Recovery Girl do her job.

She looks over Izuku's arm finding a few fractures. She also sees that his side is slightly burned but the material of the hero suit stopped most of the damage. She places the clipboard by on a desk near the bed and looks at Izuku with a smile fitting of a old lady. Suddenly her lips extend inhumanly and peck the greenette in his forehead making him blush in embarrassment. Izuku is slightly surprised at feeling the pain in his arm and side fade away.

"There you go, good as new. Just make sure to get some food and rest up when you get home."

She tells him as she hands him a granola bar. He takes it in confusion as he feels fine after she healed him. Not even a second later he feels a wave of exhaustion crash onto him making him yawn loudly. Katsuki wants to laugh at seeing the so called nerd get kissed by an old geezer but doesn't get the chance because she's already extending her lips to his forehead. He tries to pull away but her quirk takes affect the moment her lips touch his forehead.

"Hey what gives lady?! I'm not into geezers!"

He shouts in frustration but immediately shuts up when she wacks him on the head with her cane. He rubs the spot in pain but falls back onto the bed also exhausted. It feels like most of the energy from his body is gone after his injuries are healed. She hands him a granola bar as well and makes hef way back to her desk.

"My quirk uses the energy in your body to repair the damage that has happened. Thankfully you two are powerhouses so your injuries are mostly healed now. Get some rest now and you can leave at the end of the day."

Both boys don't say anything, too tired to speak or even move at that point. Izuku is surprised that Katsuki isn't arguing back or anything which means he is definitely beat from the training and healing. He feels the same way honestly and lets the sweet embrace of sleep wash over him.

-The Transparent World-

Izuku's eyes snap open seeing the familiar dark void that stretches as far as the eye can see. He looks around but doesn't see anyone or anything but the emptiness of black space. Then he hears something in the distance that sounds like music. He closes his eyes and focuses on where the sound is coming from. From the sound of the music the boy can tell that it's a shamisen being played. He follows the sound of the music while getting lost in the soft melody.

As he walks he can see a shrine in the distance with the yellow haired demon slayer and teacher in front of it. Zenitsu plays a soft tune on the shamisen giving off a peacful aura. Then Izuku hears the man exhale a breath with what looks like steam leaving his mouth. Suddenly the soft tune turns into a fast paced melody that sounds aggressive. The older man seems to he praying to the shrine with a single tear going down his face. Then he sees what is written on the shrine, a name; Kaigaku Inadama.

"He was a former student of mine. I wished for him and Zenitsu to share the title of thunder hashira. Sadly he lost his way and turned to darkness."

The elderly man said with great sadness in his voice. Zenitsu doesn't say anything as he continues to play the instrument but Izuku can sense anger and sadness radiating from the man. He takes a seat next to the men and bows his head to the shrine in respect. Zenitsu stops playing the shamisen and looks at Izuku with eyes that show pain and sorrow. The man puts down the shamisen and looks at the shrine with confliction. Before Izuku can say anything the man turned to him.

"We both trained together for so long. Even though he despised me I still though of him as a brother. Funny enough at the time, I could only perform the first form of thunder breathing while he couldn't but he mastered the other forms. He willingly became a demon and put a bad name to thunder breathing with his demon art."

Jigoro looks away with shame and a hint of regret. Izuku is moved at the fact they still miss the man who betrayed them. He then notices that by the shine lays a

Izuku is speechless at what the man says and looks at the shrine. There is a blue half yin yang shape necklace and nichirin sword that has a black and gold handle with white triangles going up the handle with the guard being gold and white in a clover like shape. The sheathe of the blade is black with gold ends. He knows that Kaigaku didn't make it to the transparent world because of his betrayal, but who beheaded him? Then his eyes widen when he remembers what Zenitsu said about his blood demon art.

'He decapitated someone he though of as a brother.'

The boy thinks to himself as they sit in silence praying together. Zenitsu starts to play a soft tune on the shamisen once again while Jigoro lights up new candles. Izuku can't really think of a prayer because he has always been more logical than religious. He remembers that Iroh said he sensed a connection to the spiritual world like him. Is the transparent world and the spiritual world the same thing? The answer is most likely not but are they connected?

Alrighty, that is the end of chapter 24! I hope that you all enjoy the story so far. Things are gonna get more interesting soon. I've been working on updating sooner but I also started a new job so may vary. Stay tuned and let me know what you all think.
