Chapter 147 Future Star Of Magic

Peter Pettigrew's wand pointed at Evan. He said what he could say, even revealing that he was an Animagus, but the slender black-haired boy before him remained unmoved.

He seemed skeptical of him. Peter knew it was too sudden.

According to the original plan, he should have reappeared in front of the crowd after Sirius Black was kissed by the Dementors. At that moment, he could have told the others how he had orchestrated all of this behind the scenes. He revealed Lupin's malevolent werewolf identity and introduced Black into the castle, plotting to trap him.

Half of his plan succeeded. Lupin had been eliminated. Even the bothersome Dumbledore was not at Hogwarts. As per the arrangement, Lucius Malfoy would keep him at the Ministry of Magic.

Now, the only remaining problem was Sirius Black.

For most people, capturing Sirius Black seemed like a very difficult task. The Dementors and Ministry of Magic Aurors spent over half a year without even finding a trace of Black.

However, for an intelligent person, it was a piece of cake.

Peter Pettigrew smiled proudly. He thought he would capture Black, that reckless and foolish dog. He wouldn't even have to use his own hands. He would just lure him to the castle and tell Snape his whereabouts. Due to the animosity that had grown during their school days, Snape would be more than willing to help him eliminate Black.

They were all like puppets, and all the strings were in his hands.

According to Peter Pettigrew's plan, when everything was over, he would make his appearance.

What awaits him should be endless glory, not a suspected twelve-year-old boy.

Under Evan's fiery gaze, Pettigrew felt a bit annoyed. His eyes were fixed on the Marauder's Map in the boy's hand. His plan was progressing smoothly. Now he just needed that map. Once he had it, he could know Black's whereabouts.

In the end, he planned to emerge victorious with the boy, saving himself a lot of trouble.

But based on the current situation, that seems to not be working. The boy in front of him is skeptical. He is not like Ron, whom he can easily manipulate, nor like Harry, who can be swayed by impulsive emotions.

In fact, Evan is different from all the young wizards Peter had seen. He had his own vision.

In Pettigrew's eyes, Evan was like Dumbledore, an exceptional Gryffindor. He possessed almost all the qualities required by the four Houses: the courage of Gryffindor, the intelligence of Ravenclaw, the hard work of Hufflepuff, and also the cunning of Slytherin.

When these idiosyncratic qualities are concentrated in one person, they are destined to be a tough opponent.

Although Evan seemed harmless to humans and animals, like a pet rat by his side, Peter Pettigrew knew what Evan had been up to since he entered school.

For a first-year student who had just entered school for less than two years, it was incredible to be able to do such things. Even he as an adult could not do many of them now.

With a child's body, he did powerful work. Not even James Potter and Sirius Black could match him. Perhaps only Dumbledore and the Dark Lord could do such things in their school days.

The thought that Evan could grow up to become such a beast made Peter so nervous that he felt choked and even breathless.

He grasped his wand in his hands, as he had to do something; it was better to surprise him and take the initiative.

While the boy still hesitated, it was best to seize the opportunity and defeat him once and for all.

Peter Pettigrew was suddenly distracted. He was considering how he should deal with the boy. The Memory Charm is a good spell, but it is not foolproof. Maybe he should give him the Avada Kedavra curse!

Then you could leave it there, and when his body is discovered, everything will be over!

Everyone would think that Sirius Black or Lupin killed him. One of them is a wicked dark wizard, the right-hand man of Voldemort; the other is a fierce werewolf, who preys on his students to quench his bloodthirsty instincts on the nights of the full moon.

As long as they are both around, no one would suspect him.

No matter how outstanding and talented Evan may be, he is still just a child, certainly no match for him.

Great talent is insignificant unless one grows to see its potential.

"Dear boy, please, believe me." Peter Pettigrew's small eyes were fixed on Evan. He shielded his wand with his body and said, sorrowfully, "The situation is very urgent; Black could break into the castle at any moment. I'm here to save you."

"Well, I believe you!" Evan suddenly exclaimed. "What do you need me to do?"

Peter seemed stunned for a moment; he did not expect him to say that.

"It's very simple. You just need to give me the Marauder's Map!"

"Is this it?" Evan raised the parchment in his hand.

"That's it!" Peter looked excitedly at the map and shouted, "Give it to me, Evan! With your help, we can join forces and catch Black. It's a shortcut to success. All will praise you and you will receive unprecedented honor."

"Really?!" Evan closed his eyes and seemed to be immersed in the future Pettigrew was speaking of.

"Think about it, Black escaped to kill Harry. You caught him and saved your friend." Peter Pettigrew took a step closer to Evan and, with a bewitching voice, said, "What a man, even greater than the Savior, how people would describe you, THE FUTURE STAR OF THE MAGICAL WORLD!"

"The future star of the magical world!" Evan repeated, opening his bright eyes, staring at Pettigrew, a smile appearing at the corner of his mouth. "What you said was great and truly thrilling. But unfortunately, you've missed a point, a crucial point."

"What?!" Pettigrew was surprised.

"You've overlooked..." Evan said slowly, with unprecedented confidence in his voice. "I am not like you, Peter! I will not betray innocent people for my own gain, for my strength! Nor will I betray my friends! I will rely on my own efforts to become a great wizard."

"Great wizard?!" Peter seemed unable to respond.

"Yes, even greater than Dumbledore and Voldemort," Evan said, tossing the Map into a blazing fire.
