Chapter 153 Strange Sensation

Peter Pettigrew was thrown heavily backwards and fell to the ground.

He did not comprehend what was occurring. Things were too peculiar this night.

The castle door was visibly ajar with nothing in front of it, yet he couldn't pass through as if there was an invisible barrier obstructing it.

Pettigrew shook his head to dispel the dizziness. But before he could react, Sirius Black transformed into a massive black dog, leaped, and pounced from the stairs. With his front paws, he pressed forcefully against his body.

Pettigrew rolled back quickly and trembled violently in despair.

He felt the heat of Black's body. He saw the sharp inch-long teeth and those eyes filled with hatred and anger.

Bang!

Black rolled over Peter's body with a surge of rage and powerful force.

Pettigrew felt his ribs were broken. He endured the pain, stood up, and prepared to escape again.

Before he could react, a hand appeared from the side and Evan grabbed him. Peter struggled, but it was futile. Evan firmly grasped his long bald tail, rendering him unable to escape. Crookshanks leaped onto Evan's shoulder and purred softly.

"You caught him!" Harry, Hermione, and Ron rushed down the stairs panting.

Harry held the Marauder's Map in his hand, his face beaming with joy. Hermione gazed at Evan with concern, and Ron stared at Peter with a distant look.

"How did you get here, Evan? I thought you and Professor Snape..." Hermione moved to hug Evan.

Evan blinked, unable to fathom what Hermione was saying.

Why did she mention Snape? Obviously, he hadn't seen him. Observing Harry and Hermione's excitement, Evan felt somewhat strange. It was too strange that Harry and Hermione seemed to have saved him in Professor Lupin's office. How could they be with Black and Ron?

Evan looked at their expressions and understood nothing at all. Moreover, the figure he had just seen behind the curtain...

Before he could grasp what was happening, he heard Black's furious roar.

"Give it to me, boy! Give me that rat!" Sirius Black had returned to his adult form. He lunged toward Evan.

"I'm going to kill him!" he shouted furiously, his eyes filled with hatred fixed on Peter, his twisted face revealing a terrible longing.

Seeing Black's appearance, Peter Pettigrew squealed like a pig, writhing constantly, his small black eyes seeming as though they might pop out. He exerted all his strength to bite Evan's arm, attempting to escape.

Evan drew his wand and flung Peter away.

His wand gleamed blue-white, and for a moment, Peter was suspended in the air, his small gray body writhing wildly, then he fell heavily.

Subsequently, another light emanated from the wand, resembling the swift growth of a magical tree.

A head appeared on the ground and limbs extended. Eventually, a man stood where the rat used to be.

Peter Pettigrew shuddered and gazed at the five in front of him, panting helplessly.

"Sirius!" Peter said in a low, trembling voice, terrified. "My dear old friend!"

Black didn't respond, expressing his wrath through actions.

As Peter screamed, Black pounced with great force and nearly tore him apart. Harry and Evan hurried to separate them.

Blood gushed from Peter's mouth, his pale face drenched in large beads of sweat.

He quivered behind Evan and Harry, in panic. His eyes, veering away from Sirius Black, swiftly moved towards the others, paused momentarily on Evan and Ron, then glanced at the open castle doors. Clearly, there was nothing there, so why couldn't he simply walk out through them?!

"You are Peter Pettigrew, the one who betrayed my parents to Voldemort and killed them?" Harry pointed his wand at him and said angrily.

"I didn't do it, boy," Peter looked at Harry with confusion. Harry had just been in the office and clearly attacked him. Why was he saying this, as if there was still any doubt? He didn't understand what was happening. But instinctively, that inspired him on what to do next. He shouted, pointing at Black with his broken right hand, accusing him. "It was his doing, he killed James and Lily. He's going to kill me again. He's a spy for Voldemort!"

"How dare you," he growled, suddenly sounding like a bear-sized dog. "Me, a spy for Voldemort? When have I ever lurked after people stronger and more powerful than me? But you, Peter, I will never understand why I didn't see from the start that you were the spy. You always liked powerful friends to protect you, didn't you? It used to be us... I, Remus... and James..."

Pettigrew wiped his face again; he was almost panting for breath.

"Me, a spy... you must be insane... never... I can't comprehend how you can say such..."

"Harry, I just told you in the Common Room and in front of Snape that it was my advice that led James and Lily to trust that guy as their Secret-Keeper," Black hissed, so venomously that Pettigrew took a step back. "I thought it was the perfect plan... a lie... Voldemort would surely come after me, he would never imagine they would use a weak and talentless creature like you..." He closed his eyes and instantly opened them and glared at Peter. "It must have been the most significant moment of your wretched life, telling Voldemort that you could deliver the Potters to him."

"Ridiculous! You're mad!" Peter muttered. "I didn't do it."

"Don't pretend. We know everything. You killed my parents! You framed Sirius Black!" Harry shouted, tears streaming down his face. "Now you're back. You framed Professor Lupin; and Ron, you controlled him with the Imperius Curse."

"Don't listen to Black, Harry! He's a killer; he's deranged..." Peter turned to Harry and pleaded, "I confess I took control of Ron. I was the one who revealed Lupin's werewolf condition. What I did was not right, but I did it for your safety. Lupin and Black are very dangerous! Believe me, Harry! I am helping Ron and helping you!"

Peter collapsed to the floor, trembling uncontrollably.

Evan noticed Ron, who was behind Harry, moving. So he immediately stayed alert and aimed his wand at him. Ron's face was filled with confusion and everything happening in front of him seemed to deeply affect him. Just like in Professor Lupin's office just now, he was resisting the curse. It seemed he was on the verge of succeeding.

Seeing Ron's expression, Evan hesitated for a moment and did nothing. He decided to simply observe.

If Ron can successfully overcome the Imperius Curse on his own, it will be very good for him.

Things have progressed to this point. Although many strange things remain unclear, this year's event is destined to come to an end.

If Ron can resist the curse with his own will, that would be the perfect conclusion.
