Chapter 158 Ron Freeing Himself

Evan was surprised to see such an absurd scene before him. Peter Pettigrew and Ron were rolling and struggling on the ground. Ron shouted and begged at him, Harry, and Hermione, calling out their names. Peter, who was on top of him, let out sharp screams every now and then, like a pig being led to slaughter.

Pettigrew wanted to escape, but Ron held onto him and didn't let him flee.

Ron's strength was such that Peter couldn't aim his wand at him.

"I've got him...!"

"Let go, Ron! Please, my gracious lord!" Pettigrew cried. "You won't allow them to capture me, right? I'm your RAT; I'm your good pet."

"I won't believe you again, I've been a fool, look at what I've done..." Ron's tears flowed uncontrollably.

"Boy, I'm helping you, I'm on your side..."

"Shut up!" Ron interrupted, looking at him with extreme disgust. "You're despicable, filthy scoundrel, because of you, I betrayed my friends!"

"That's what you wanted!" Peter said hastily, his expression distorted by madness. "Think about it, Ron! How many times did you cry silently under your sheets? How you envied and were jealous of Harry, how many times you longed for his attention? And that Evan, cursed, he took Hermione from you and took what was yours. You said you would make him regret it, make him pay."

"No!" Ron was devastated, Pettigrew's words struck a nerve and he didn't want to think about those things. He shook his head vigorously, fearlessly shouting, "I would rather die than believe you again! I would rather die than betray my friends again."

"Very well said, Ron!"

"You're the best, Ron!" Hearing Ron shout, Harry also cried and said, "You trusted your willpower to break free from the Imperius Curse. You're a hero, a true hero."

"You're our best friend, we all trust you!"

Evan, Harry, and Hermione ran forward, approaching the two struggling figures.

Leading the way in front of them was Black.

"No, don't come closer!" Seeing Black's grim expression, Peter let out a shrill scream.

His eyes were wide open; he seemed extremely terrified.

He knew that if caught by Black, he would be killed without waiting for the Dementors to arrive.

This time, no one would help him again!

He couldn't allow it. He shook his arm forcefully and waved his wand.

Ron, holding onto his right hand, rolled on the ground like a broken rag doll, his body covered in blood.

But no matter how hard Peter tried, Ron, gritting his teeth and resisting, didn't let go of his hands. In his physical state, he was no match for Peter Pettigrew.

But in the face of furious Ron, Peter couldn't quickly get rid of him.

Pettigrew didn't dare to transform into his rat form. He was too afraid that if Ron caught him even in that state, he would be in an even more unfavorable situation.

"Let go, Ron, let me go..." Pettigrew struggled and shouted, his wand occasionally emitting light, and he barely wrestled with his brute strength.

Both were rolling on the ground. Peter's left hand seemed to touch a stone; he picked it up and forcefully hit Ron's head.

Boom!

Through the faint moonlight, Peter saw Ron's bloodied face, and he seemed to be losing consciousness.

Ron let go of Peter's hand, and the latter moved. Before he could do anything, he found himself caught by Sirius Black. Black's strength was such that it almost tore him apart.

Black grabbed Peter's neck with his left hand and clenched the right one, swinging it towards his face.

One blow, two blows, three blows...

Under the furious attack of Black, Pettigrew didn't even have the strength to plead.

"Stop, Sirius, you're killing him!" Evan, Harry, and Hermione followed, running towards the unconscious Ron to lift him up. "We better hurry, the Dementors will be here soon, we must return to the castle!"

"I don't care about the Dementors; I want to kill this..."

"Let me go, Sirius... Dementors..." Peter murmured helplessly.

His eyes were unfocused, but his right hand was steady, tightly grasping Ron's wand. He seemed to be speaking faintly. Evan was the only one who saw his lips move. It seemed like a spell, a very wicked dark magic, and he felt that something bad was about to happen.

He wanted to stop Pettigrew, but it was too late!

"Watch out, stand back!" Evan shouted.

The others looked up at him in astonishment, even Black stopped.

They didn't know what had happened, or why Evan had said it.

Evan had no time to explain anything. He pulled Hermione towards him and held her tightly.

The wand in his hand emitted a dazzling light, like the Shield Charm, forming a silvery-white shield to protect them.

At the same time, the tip of Pettigrew's wand emitted five strange orange lights like fire, shining in the darkness.

Sirius Black froze, and his memory instantly returned to the Muggle street twelve years ago. He also remembered this magic. Peter Pettigrew, who had been sobbing in front of him at that time, the tip of his wand also suddenly emitted five orange lights, and then...

Boom!

The fire was blazing when a strong explosion occurred in Peter's wand!

On the ground, a large crater formed, and Black only had time to move away from Peter; he rolled hard to the side, and then the violent explosion threw him away from the impact. Under the gaze of the astonished children screaming, his body fell heavily to the ground.

The startling explosion made the earth head straight towards them.

Evan's hurried magical shield was instantly destroyed. They were too close to Pettigrew. He held Hermione firmly in his arms. Both closed their eyes. Just when he thought it was all over, a white light flew from the castle. The magic that had just stopped Peter from going out the door reappeared, creating a new barrier in front of them.

The power of the explosion was too great. Despite the magical protection, the four of them were still thrown around like a ship in a storm, violently shaken.

The tremendous explosion left Evan dazed, and its sound gradually faded away!

It appeared that they had no serious injuries. Evan heard Hermione and Harry shouting. He tried to lift his head and saw that Peter Pettigrew was fleeing.

Peter exuded an extreme sense of misery, severely mutilated with most of his body drenched in blood. Ron's wand lay discarded to the side. Peter's right hand, the one that used to hold the wand, the one that had one finger less, now had vanished entirely! It transformed into a mound of decaying flesh on the ground as a toll for wielding such magic.

This extremely malevolent forbidden magic requires the flesh and blood of the caster as a catalyst.

Twelve years ago, Pettigrew paid with a finger for using this magic, and now... it was his entire right hand!

Yet, it still moved, writhing slowly forward, gradually fading into the dark Forbidden Forest.

Evan hurried; he knew he couldn't let Peter Pettigrew escape.

Ron had freed himself willingly from the Imperius Curse's control. If they ever caught Peter, that would be the perfect conclusion to this year's event.
