Hey everyone here's another chapter enjoy! :)

(Redited 5/01/22)

It was nighttime at the farmhouse, Muriel and Eustace were fast asleep, but Courage was shivering in fear, because of the thunder and lighting that was outside. If there one of the things Courage hates, it's thunder and lighting.

Lighting cracked, as a flash of lighting shined in the room.

"Humina humina!" Courage was now shivering in fright.

Eustace annoyed, at Courage's whimpers, kicked him off the bed. "Dumb dog," he grumbled.

"Like Scoob, not now," Shaggy groaned, he looked over at his bedside table at his alarm-clock which read, 1:15 A.M. "It's like one in the morning!"

"Rut Raggy!" Scooby whined, he was shaking and shivering as a loud clap of thunder sounded, Scooby yelped and scurried underneath Shaggy's covers, shaking violently.

"Like alright Scoob, I'll make you a deal. If I get up and make us some P.B.J. and S's, you can't wake me up again unless there's an emergency. Deal?"

At the mention of the peanut-butter, jelly, and sardine sandwiches, Scooby's eyes lit up and he stopped shaking immediately. "Real!" he said happily, wagging his tail.

"Alright, come on buddy," Shaggy pushed himself up on his bed with his arms and sat up. Rubbing his eyes Shaggy got up and walked towards his door in his baggy green pajamas and nightcap, his hair slightly more disheveled than it usually was.

They walked down the hall and saw Courage looking at the window.

"Like, little pink dude, what are you doing up?" Shaggy asked, the small dog.

"Oh hi Shaggy," Courage greeted. "The farmer just kicked me out of bed."

Scooby groaned, "Ragain!?" Scooby hates it when, Eustace's treats him like this.

"Yeah," Courage sighed and nodded sadly.

"Like, why don't you come down with us and I'll make you a sandwich?" Shaggy offered, with a warm smile.

Before Courage could replay, he snapped his gaze outside and he howled with fear as he saw a shadow from the window to the view of the front of the house come in front of the porch of the farmhouse was a shadowy humanoid figure, with no visible features other than a mouth. There was a flash of lightning, and the pink beagle watched as the shadowy figure ran into the house, his eyes grew with horror and he screamed as he ran to get his owners. Scooby and Shaggy just stood there confused, and looked at each other.

"Like, was it something I said?" Shaggy asked. What made him so spooked? I wonder what got the little pink dude so terrified?

Courage was explaining to his owners of what he thought he saw, as he transform into a burglar. That got their attention and decided to go down stairs to investigate.

Eustace and Muriel turned on the lights and looked around the living room with their weapons raised high and their hands jittering. Muriel was wearing her nightcap and gown while holding a rolling pin, and Eustace, wearing his long sleeve pajama shirt and pants while holding a baseball bat over his head, ran into the living room with Courage hiding behind Muriel, as Shaggy and Scooby went downstairs. Yet there was no one in the room but them.

"Like, what's happening?" Shaggy asked them.

"Courage said there was a burglar in the house," Muriel answered while turning to face the two. "But we don't see any burglar."

"Bu-Bu-Bu-Burglar!?/Ru-Ru-Rurglar!?" Scooby and Shaggy stammered out.

Courage expressing his confusion, with his paws on his head and said, "This is crazy! I saw a burglar I did!"

Eustace however was NOT amused with having been woken up in the middle of the night and just glared at the dog.

"That's it. You're sleeping in the attic," he said angrily.

Eustace grabbed Courage by the scruff and lifted him off of the ground as he proceeded up the stairs with him.

"I don't want to sleep in the attic, I'm telling you there is someone here, or my name's Shirley, and it's not," Courage said trying to convince them.

They walked right past Shaggy and Scooby without a word as Muriel followed after them.

"Is there like a burglar in the house?" Shaggy asked, with fright.

"Reah, a burglar?" Scooby added, also scared.

Muriel shook her head and said, "No dears, Courage thought he saw a burglar was all, guess the storm is just getting to him, you don't mind him staying with you two tonight do you?"

Shaggy shook his head and said, "Like, of course not. The more the merrier, right Scoob?"

"Reah," Scooby agreed, as he snickered.

Muriel smiled and proceeded up the stairs as well. Shaggy and Scooby went into the kitchen, to get their snack, as they shut the lights off in the living room. However, none of them were around to hear the crazed laughter of the entity that was now inside their house.

Back up in the attic, Shaggy and Scooby were lying in bed with Courage lying at the foot of the bed with Shaggy. The two were trying to get to sleep, but Courage was shivering violently. He must have still been convinced that there was something scary in the house. The two raised their heads and looked at him, starting to worry about him.

Courage was thinking of the worst case scenarios. He imagine, the burglar choking Muriel, Shaggy and Scooby, beating them with a fish and blowing a party favor into their ears. Courage let out a frightened howl. "I just know something bad is going to happen," he said anxiously.

Scooby and Shaggy looked at each other, before Shaggy replied, "Like little Courage guy, there is no-"

Shaggy froze when he heard a loud roaring behind him while Scooby and Courage's eyes widened. He turned around, and his eyes widened as he saw a shadow monster with sharp teeth and horns on the wall.

Shaggy, Scooby and Courage then screamed in fright, before running off right through the door, leaving a hole in the door shaped like them.

The three woke the couple up, as Shaggy beginning explaining the problem, "There's like a monster in the attic!"

While Shaggy was telling them of what's going on, Courage transform into a beast that looked like the shadow they had seen in the attic.

"Rome quick!" Scooby begged.

The trio led the old couple back to the attic, Eustace and Muriel holding their weapons again.

They all went to the door, as the cowardly trio pointed the door, indicating, that the monster was inside.

Eustace frowned, as he saw the giant hole the three made, "Did you three break that door!?" he demanded.

"Will you like forget the door!?" Shaggy shouted, feeling frustrated that his uncle was concerned with a DOOR.

Courage then once again, transformed into a beast, reminding the couple what the task was.

"Oooh," Muriel and Eustace both said, as they're reminded of what's happening.

All five of them barged back into the room, but instead of a monster, the five were met with a mostly empty room. Nothing in there but Shaggy's bed and the computer.

Courage was distraught once more that evening. "But-but-but…" he sputtered, extremely confused as to what was going on.

"It was like in there!" Shaggy exclaimed, honestly.

"Now boys, we're not going to be doing this all night are we?" Muriel scolded them and then walked out of the room.

Eustace however was less pleased and walked up to the three with fury plastered on his face.

"What did I tell you? If you all wake me up again, you'll be sleeping with the termites," Eustace threatened them with the trio looking even more fearful. "So I'm giving one more chance to act like a real man and real dogs."

"Master," Courage said, with large sad eyes while throwing himself to Eustace's feet and cling onto them.

"Oh, please! We're really sorry Uncle Eustace!" Shaggy said.

Rease don't be angry. "Reah, sorry," Scooby added, feeling sick to his stomach.

Eustace however was not amused and simply threw Courage off of his foot. As Courage landed on the floor in front of him, Eustace pulled out some large googly eyes and placed them on his head. Scooby, Shaggy and Courage screamed, as Scooby jumped in Shaggy's arms, while Courage jumped on Shaggy's head. Eustace began to laugh at the trio for being scared.

Suddenly Muriel came rushing into the room and whacked Eustace on the head with her rolling pin, googly eyes falling off of his head and rolling across the ground.

Muriel picked up Courage, and grabbed her nephew's hand and angrily stated, "Now YOU sleep in the attic. Shaggy, Scooby, you can sleep in a cot in my room tonight."

Eustace was flabbergasted and wanted to argue, but Muriel walked out with the trio before he could say anything. It took no time at all to set up a cot in Muriel's room and before Muriel was even asleep, Shaggy was curling up in the cot and was trying hard to go to sleep.

But he, Scooby and Courage couldn't sleep, they have a feeling that someone or something was in the house. Suddenly the trio looked up at the wall and saw something dark sliding over the wall and then disappear behind the bed. The trio shivered and whined as Courage stood up on the bed and watched the thing disappear behind it.

"W-W-What is that thing?" Courage stuttered, worriedly.

As Scooby was about to open his mouth, Eustace burst into the room and began to strangle Courage. Muriel woke with a start and then whacked Eustace as she saw him strangling Courage. Eustace was undeterred and began to chase Courage as the dog made a run for it. Muriel chasing after in tow with her rolling pin.

"Like, not this again," Shaggy groaned. "Come on Scoob."

Scooby got up and he, and his owner went to followed the three.

Courage ran into the kitchen and quickly hid inside the sink under the cupboard. Eustace came into the kitchen too look for the timid pup.

"Where's that lousy dog?" Eustace said to himself, as he looked around the kitchen.

Courage shivered in fear, praying that the farmer will not checked inside the cupboard. Please don't look in here. Suddenly the shadow took a form of a snake and hissed at the small pink dog.

Courage howled in fear and shot out from under the sink like a rocket and latched onto Eustace's face. He shook in fright on Eustace's face until he realized where he was. "Uh oh! I'm going to get strangled!" he said, before Eustace pulled him off and started shaking the pink beagle as he strangled him.

"Now say uncle! Say uncle!" Eustace said as he shook the pink little beagle.

Muriel came running in again, and bashed Eustace on the head with the rolling pin a third time, breaking it in the process as he dropped Courage. Muriel quickly picked Courage up and held him close in her arms, before she walked out of the room, with broken pin in hand as Courage said, "Uncle?"

Shaggy and Scooby saw Muriel walking out and she was carrying Courage with her.

"Like, what just happened?" Shaggy asked as Muriel came up the stairs.

Muriel walked past him and with a yawn she said, "Let's just go back to sleep and deal with it in the morning."

The group went to the room Muriel got into the bed with Courage under the covers shivering. Just as, Shaggy and Scooby were about to return in, they heard Eustace scream in terror.

"Oh! That was Eustace," Muriel said sitting up and taking off the blankets. "He's in trouble."

"Wait, you stay here!" Courage said gently making her get back into bed. "We'll go!" he then whimpered. "I must be nuts!"

"Like, this gonna be a long night Scoob," Shaggy said, to his companion.

"Reah, long night," Scooby agreed.

The trio both raced to where they heard the scream came. Getting there, they've looked around and saw there was nobody there aside from the three. Though the cowardly trio did see Eustace's hat on the floor.

Picking it up, Shaggy began to worry on what could have happened to him, he may not fully like the farmer, but that does not mean he didn't want him getting hurt. "Like I think, something's got Uncle Eustace."

"Roh-no!" Scooby anxiously exclaimed. "Rhich, one of us is next?"

A thought bubble, when through Courage, as he thought of a scenario of Eustace getting eaten by a shadow monster followed by Muriel, Shaggy and Scooby getting eaten went through his mind, causing him to scream in fright.

"Like, what's wrong dude?" Shaggy asked the small dog, feeling dread in his stomach.

"I think, Muriel might be next," Courage exclaimed anxiously.

"Ruh-oh!" Scooby cried in fear.

"Come on guys. We got to see if Aunt Muriel's okay," Shaggy yelled.

The trio went running back to the room and leaving the hat behind. They've went back to the room to see that Muriel was nowhere in sight.

"Aunt Muriel?" Shaggy called out. "Like, where'd you go?"

"RI think the shadow's got her!" Scooby exclaimed in horror.

"Zoniks!" Shaggy cried, in anxiety.

Courage howled at the sight and clutched the sides of his head. "Stay calm, stay calm," he said before howling again.

The trio went back to the attic. Opening the door which has Eustace's shaped hole in the door, They entered and looked around to see if that shadow was here.

"Rhe close is clear guys," Scooby whispered.

Seeing that it was 'safe,' they entered the room with Courage running to the computer and turned it on before frantically typing away on the keyboard.

"Come on! Come on!" he said as he continued to type away. "Evil... Shadowy... Evil things... Search!"

The computer beeped and said with a British accent, "You twit! Do you mean evil shadows?"

"I don't know," Courage answered, confused while scratching his head.

"What a loser, of course you do," the computer insulted.

"Okay. You like, have don't have to get personal," Shaggy told the computer, with annoyance. "This is a first for us."

The computer chuckled and said, "That coming from a teenage boy that saids like, in every sentence and acts like a hippy."

"Rust shut up and search!" Scooby demanded him and defending his best friend. Rhy is this Rourage's computer again? he thought bitterly.

The computer sighed and said, "Fine, no need to get all testy."

The computer quit talking and the word, 'SEARCHING' filled the screen. The trio sat in the middle of the room and attempted to meditate while they waited for the results.

"Search found," the computer said while making a ringing noise from a bell as well. "One item."

"What!? What!?/Rhat!? Rhat!?" the trio asked as Courage furiously typed to get to the answer.

"Evil Shadows, I wouldn't want them in my house," the computer answered.

Scooby and Shaggy groaned, while Courage howled at the lack of a better result.

Shaggy covered his mouth and said, "Okay little pink dude! Like, I think that's enough howling for one night buddy."

"Hey, I better stop that. I can begin to like it," Courage said to his friends after howling, while they both nodded in agreement.

Courage then began to type the keys once more. "How do we get rid of evil shadows?"

"How to get rid of evil shadows? 1. Pleasant conversation. 2. Move out of the house," the computer answered. Though judging by his tone, he being sarcastic with the first option and acting as if the second option was the most obvious one.

"Are you kidding? This thing is dangerous," Courage said adamantly.

"Row, do you talk to an evil shadow?" Scooby protested, despite feeling fear.

"I don't know. You are on your own kids. :]" the computer answered.

"We gotta save Muriel," Courage said to his friends with a snap of his fingers.

"Like, come on guys," Shaggy said, as he Scooby and Courage walked out the room.

"Let's start in the basement," Courage suggest while pulling out a grey flashlight. Scooby and Shaggy nodded and they made their way down to the basement door. "The things I do for love."

"Hey shadow, are you like down there?" Shaggy asked feeling a bit nervous.

Scooby was whimpering, while Courage meanwhile was shining the flashlight all over the place. But as soon as he shone the light in front of him Shaggy and Scooby, they saw a giant shadow creature growl at them. They all screamed and then slammed the basement door. Shaggy leaned against the door with his heart pounding his chest with Courage and Scooby lying on the floor with their hearts pounding too.

"Muriel, we'll save you," Courage said before closing the door again in fear.

But Scooby opened it up just as soon as he did that.

"Okay, like, we'll save you for real this time," Shaggy said.

They've started to go down the stairs but Courage started to lose his balance and Shaggy and Scooby tripped over him, causing the three to fall down the stairs to the floor.

"Rokay, shadow, where's Ruriel?" Scooby demanded.

Courage was again looking around with the flashlight, they've didn't see anything yet but as soon as the light hit the wall, the shadow revealed itself as a horrifying creature. The trio screamed, Courage quickly turned off the light before turning it back on a second later. This time, they saw Muriel waving at the three.

"Muriel!" Courage said happily as he waved back.

Shaggy and Scooby both let out a sighs of relief upon seeing that Muriel was okay, only for the three to scream again as she ripped her head off. Courage quickly turned off the light again and turned it back on a second later.

"Aunt Muriel! Are you like okay?" Shaggy asked as the light came back.

Only to be greeted by the sight of Muriel tied to a pole with fire on her feet. The same process happened again as Courage turned off and, on the flashlight.

"Roh, my goodness!" Scooby exclaimed as the next sight he, Shaggy and Courage saw was that of Muriel on a table with a spinning blade coming at her.

"No... No, no," Shaggy begged as the next imaged showed Muriel tied at the limbs as if about to be pulled apart.

"Oh, no. Not that!" Courage screeched as the next image they saw was Muriel about to be impaled by spikes coming down on her.

Courage turned off the light again and turned it to see a ghost this time, curious Scooby turned off the flashlight and turned it back on, this time they've saw a hammer hitting an anvil, Shaggy then did the same and they saw a screw and a baseball.

Next was a cuckoo clock with the bird coming out as it does when it strikes noon, Shaggy decided to try it one last time. But instead of an image, the shadow appeared this time.

"STOP ALREADY!" he screamed as he began to cry into his hands.

This surprised the cowardly trio.

"I can't take it anymore!" he cried. "On and off, on and off. You're all driving me crazy!"

"We're driving you crazy?" Courage asked.

"Where's my aunt? What did you like, do with her?" Shaggy demanding to the shadow.

"I haven't done anything to her," the shadow answered.

"Rhen where is she?" Scooby asked.

"What do I look like, her twin?" the shadow countered.

It was here that three heard a flushing sound coming from upstairs and the rattling of the pipes as water ran down them. And now Shaggy, Scooby and Courage were beginning to feel foolish.

"See? She's been in the bathroom," the shadow stated.

"Okay. Then why are you like, doing this and scaring everybody half to death?" Shaggy asked.

The shadow then changed to look as if he was on a therapist bed before answering. "Well, I was the shadow of a cruel old rich dude," the shadow answered.

"Yes, yes. Go on," Courage told him. He was now sitting on a chair, and Shaggy was now writing down everything, while Scooby was nodding and humming, while wearing glasses, as they're therapists.

"But that's not me, that's not me at all," the shadow continued as he made a cane and top hat appear in his hands and danced. "I always wanted to be in showbiz, to be a star baby. A star."

"Don't we all..." Courage said, he couldn't blame the shadow at all he wished the same thing as well. "I have an idea, come with me."

A few minutes later, the four were standing outside and looking up at the night sky. The storm was long past and now the sky was clear of clouds. The stars seemed to stretch across the sky forevermore in every direction around them.

"I don't know how to make it in showbiz, but up there are the real stars, why don't we hang with them?" Courage, suggested as he gestured to the shadow, which was standing on the ground

"Like, not a bad idea little dog dude," Shaggy agreed.

"Rit's a good idea," Scooby added.

"You mean become the shadow of a real star?" the shadow questioned.

"Rit's worth a try," Scooby replied to the shadow.

"Huh, never thought of that before. Sounds too romantic to me, but what the heck. It sure beats scaring the jeepers out of folks," the shadow stated with a shudder.

Shaggy looked at the shadow and said, "By the way, have you like, seen my uncle anywhere? Big chin, glasses, thin and with an ugly hat?"

"Yeah. He's hiding in that old pickup truck," he answered while pointing to the truck. "He's a bigger coward than the three of you."

"Ree thanks," Scooby told him with a chuckle.

"Good luck," Courage said as he had his shadow shake the hand of the other shadow. Shaggy and Scooby did the same thing.

"Thanks, see you all in the funny papers," the shadow said before running off and jumping to the sky and disappearing.

"Row!" Scooby said in astonishment as the shadow made an outline in the sky before becoming hundreds of stars that faded leaving behind one bright shining star.

"Like, he did became a star after all," Shaggy added.

"Hmm. Not bad!" Courage said as he, Shaggy and Scooby made their way back inside. Seeing that it was late and that the shadow won't be bothering them now.

Eustace and Courage were asleep when they heard a noise, they turned to see a shadow of a hag on the wall. They both screamed, but as it turns out, it was just Muriel with curlers on her head.

"Ready for bed dearests?" Muriel asked.

"Oooh!" Courage exclaimed, as he turned to the readers. "Now that's what I called scary. You now what I mean?"

Well that's all for this chapter, sorry I didn't post for a while, I was in Florida last week with my family, to go to Disney World and Universal Studios in Orlando. Also I like to dedicated this chapter to Thea White, who sadly passed way on July 31st 2021. Thea White was the voice of Muriel. I hope the crossover move will dedicated to her memory since this is gonna be her last role as Muriel. May she rest in peace.
