(Reedited 5/01/22)

It was a beautiful day today. Shaggy and Scooby, were eating sandwiches, with Courage next to them, and Muriel beside Shaggy. She was not happy.

"Eustace?" she called out but got no response. "Eustace!" she tried again but got the same result. However, the banging stopped this time. "Eustace!" she shouted again but all she got in return was Eustace going back to hammering again. But this was quickly followed by a pained scream as Eustace apparently hit his finger with his hammer.

"Eustace, will you stop that noise?" Muriel asked upset. "You'll wake the neighbors."

"Re have neighbors?" Scooby asked.

Courage tilted his head with confusion. We don't have neighbors.

"We ain't got no neighbors," Eustace exclaimed after a moment.

See even the farmer notices. Courage thought.

Eustace then went back to work and began hammering again. But as soon as his hammer hit the roof, a piece of wood flew away.

"Look out!" Shaggy warned as he, Scooby and Courage got out in the way in time.

Unfortunately, Muriel was not so lucky, and she got hit in the head.

"Ruh oh," Scooby exclaimed.

"Like, that can't be good," Shaggy added, worrying about his aunt.

"NOOOO!" Courage screamed as he saw that happen.

The three were immediately at her side helping her up.

"What?" Eustace asked confused as he looked down from the roof.

Eustace immediately got down from the roof and helped Shaggy bring Muriel inside with Courage and Scooby opening the front door for them.

"Oh, my head," Muriel said as she and her family entered the living room, they've helped her sit down in her rocking chair before taking a step back to give her space.

"Aunt Muriel, are you like, okay?" Shaggy asked, looking for any injury from that board that knocked her out.

Muriel took a curious look around the living room, smiled and said, "Oh this is a lovely room."

Shaggy, Scooby and Courage's mouths open with shock, what was Muriel talking about?

Eustace looked at her in surprise and said, "Eh?"

Muriel sat down on her rocker and said, "And what a comfy chair."

"What?" Eustace asked even more confused now.

"Ruriel, are you okay?" Scooby asked, beginning to feel alarm in his fur.

Muriel looked at the great dane said, "I'm feeling just fine dear dog. Is this YOUR house? It seems nice."

"You like, don't remember?" Shaggy asked, hoping in vain that she was messing with him. It occurred to him, however, that his aunt would never make those kinds of jokes. No! No! This isn't happening!

Eustace then grabbed the cup of tea from the table next to him. "Here. Drink some tea." But instead of taking the cup, she reached out and grabbed the picture that was also on the table.

"Aw, what a nice couple," Muriel said as she admired the picture. The picture being them on their wedding day. "Who are they?"

At this, Courage immediately ran to the side of the room. "Oh, there's something wrong here. Or my name is Jose Santos De Guatemala…" he said as he began pacing around back and forth. "And it's not."

"Like, something's wrong with Aunt Muriel Scoob," Shaggy told his pet, feeling really concerned about his aunt now, "Really wrong."

"Reah," Scooby agreed, worriedly.

"Ah, just some old rotten couple," Eustace answered as he took the picture from her, "Go ahead. Drink your tea."

"Thank you. You're a very nice man," Muriel said as she took the tea and began rocking in the chair again, "What's your name?"

"What's my name?" Eustace asked in confusion, "Hey now, what's YOUR name?"

Muriel shrugged and Shaggy asked, "Aunt Muriel, like, please tell me you know my name."

Muriel shook her head and said, "I'm sorry young man, but I haven't the foggiest idea."

Shaggy stared back at her, his eyes wide with shock, "What about Scoob?" he said, as he pointed to his best friend.

"Rello," Scooby said, as he waved, despite the panic was beginning to fill inside him and his best efforts to stay calm, what was wrong with Muriel.

"Sorry," Muriel said, "Doesn't ring a bell."

Scooby's stomach plummeted at her answer.

Eustace pointed to Courage and said, "Well, what's HIS name?"

Muriel looked down at Courage and Courage merely smiled and waved at her cheerfully. He was desperate for Muriel to remember him, knowing that things would probably turn bleak if she didn't.

But to his, Shaggy and Scooby's dismay, she shrugged and said, "I've never seen him before in my life."

Twinge of cold vicious panic ran through the trio, they couldn't believe even Muriel is not remembering her beloved dog.

Eustace smiled at this before grabbing Courage and kicking him out of the house. He then grabbed Shaggy and tossed him out, and then he grabbed Scooby by the collar and tossed him out as well before slamming the door shut and locking it.

"Hey!" Shaggy said, steading himself from Eustace tossing him out. "Like that was rude, right Scoob?"

"Reah," Scooby agreed, feeling a ripple of frustration at Eustace's cruelty, "Rude."

"Wouldn't you agree little pink dude?" Shaggy said, as he turned where the pink dog was tossed, only for him to no longer be there. "Courage?"

The two looked around and saw Courage already up and running towards the window that looks into the living room. Following him, the three looked into the window, they're near enough to hear what's going on inside the house. The three saw Eustace with an evil grin as he rubbed his hands together.

"Muriel," Eustace said pointing to her. Then he pointed to himself. "Eustace." And then back to her. "Slave woman. Your job is cleaning, cooking, shopping, laundry and anything else I can think of," He told her as he sat down on his chair and pulled out a newspaper from underneath. "Now get me dinner!"

Muriel nodded and ran off to the kitchen as Eustace laughed all the while.

Scooby felt a surge of anger as he growled at the old man. Row could Rustace have something do eat while we get none!? he thought.

"Like, I know Scoob," Shaggy agreed, "Not fair that he's eating, while we're like out here."

"Guys!" Courage cried out crossly, "We need to help Muriel, not thinking about dinner, besides it's seven in the morning."

"Well little Courage guy," Shaggy said, "Dinner time is anytime for us, right Scoob?"

"Reah," Scooby said, with a chuckle.

Courage let out a heavy sigh as he rolled his eyes, "Just come on."

The cowardly trio were now on the branch of a tree. The three swing on the vines to the attic. They've went through the window. Breaking it in the process.

Courage went up to the computer typing away frantically. "Help. Muriel doesn't remember who she is. Doesn't remember who I, Shaggy and Scooby are! Need Help! SEND! SEND!"

The computer beeped and said, "Well, you don't have to hit so hard. Let me look for an amnesia therapist."

The computer went to his 'Searching' screen. It took a few moments, but he did get a hit.

"I've found one that seems to "fit the bill" dare I say. He calls himself Le Quack and appears to have some sort of success. Shall I e-mail him?" the computer asked.

"No, we just asked you to search simply for the fun of it. What do you think?" Courage said, in irritable sarcasm.

"There's no need for sarcasm with you twit. I'll send him an e-mail, but I'm going to tell him to take his time," the computer scolded him.

"Like, good thinking little dog dude," Shaggy told him as he patted his head.

Courage managed to nod thanks, as he felt a surged of pride rolled through him.

"I heard something!" the voice of Eustace said surprising the trio.

Time stood still as Shaggy, Scooby and Courage heard a familiar voice approaching outside the door. The three widened their eyes and shot each other terrified looks.

"Rit's Rustace!" Scooby gasped out in fear, they needed a place to hide FAST.

"Quick!" Courage shouted, "Out the window!"

Scooby quickly grabbed Courage's paw, as he and and Shaggy sweated and jumped out the window so to avoid getting caught just as Eustace opened the door and entered. Taking a risk and peeking inside, Scooby saw Eustace look around for a moment, he shivered and shrank back down on the roof, after a heart-beating moment Eustace left and closed the door.

Scooby sighed in relief, as he took a paw in to his chest. "Re's gone."

"Like, maybe we should wait here for the amnesia specialist to arrive?" Shaggy suggested.

Both Scooby and Courage nodded in agreement.

About an hour later, a duck arrived at the house. His feathers were all white, blue curled hair on top of his head and a mustache coming out of both sides of his bill. He had a slightly friendly look to his face, almost like he was very happy about something.

Courage grew excited thinking this was the specialist he called for, "Guys look!"

Shaggy was already beginning to sigh in relief to know that his aunt might actually get some help, "Thank goodness."

"Rou said it," Scooby agreed, also sighing in relief. Soon the specialist will help Muriel get her memory back and they'll be allowed back in the house.

The trio stuck their heads out of the side of the house to see the duck knock on the door.

Eustace opened the door and rudely blurted, "We don't want any!"

Shaggy, Scooby and Courage shrank back, the three knew they shouldn't eavesdropped, but they had to know what's going to happen.

"Voila! Moi Carde," the duck said, in a thick French accent, as he handed Eustace a gigantic purple card. "I am Dr. Le Quack. Are you the patient?"

"Who?" Eustace asked in confusion.

"Where the patient?" Le Quack asked.

"What?" Eustace asked but instead of giving time to answer, he threw the card away and attempted to shut the door. But the duck put his fin in front of the door to stop it from closing.

"I am an amnesia specialist and have been sent for," Le Quack explained.

Eustace stuck his head back out of the door and said, "I didn't send for you!"

"No?" Le Quack asked.

With this, he pulled out his mallet and knocked Eustace VERY HARD on the head. Hard enough to knock the old farmer out on his back. Shaggy, Scooby and Courage felt as if they had stepped an icy torrent a powerful rush of fear that could sweep off their feet and paws.

"Like, this is bad," Shaggy said, shocked and flabbergasted, of what he just saw.

"Rot good," Scooby added, anxiously.

Courage who howled at what he just saw. "What have I done?" he asked himself.

"Well, you like, definitely send a criminal to the farm," Shaggy stated.

Courage felt a pang of guilt, he could of save so much trouble if he had look at Dr Le Quack's file more than right out panic to bring a random stranger to the house.

"Raggy, not helping!" Scooby protested, giving his owner a glare.

"Oh, sorry," Shaggy, give a cheesy grin and an apologetic look.

The three went over to the window to look inside the cowardly trio stiffened and gasped in horror, as they saw the duck drag Eustace into the closet and close the door. What in the world was that duck doing?

"We gotta save Muriel!" Courage said before he, Shaggy and Scooby rushed inside the house.

They went inside the dining room, where Courage frantically tried to pull Muriel to get her outside, Muriel looked annoyed.

"Like, Aunt Muriel, you need to get out of here!" Shaggy said, frantically.

"Reah," Scooby added, "Rhere's a bad guy in the house!"

"What are you doing dog? Get away!" Muriel said while pulling her arm away from Courage.

"Quest Ce Que," Le Quack said as he saw the trio.

This made the trio jumped and screamed in terror.

Le Quack was walking towards the frightened trio and pulled out his giant mallet again.

"Who is the patient?" he asked with a deranged smile.

"RUN!" Scooby shouted, as he Shaggy and Courage ran out the dining room, while screaming.

Entering the kitchen, The three opened the door and exited the house and closed the door as well. Needing to hide, Shaggy and Scooby went around the house so as to not be seen.

Scooby was about to grab Courage as well but saw that he jumped above the door frame and was now clinging onto the wood itself. Shaggy grabbed Scooby and pressed themselves against the wall. Scooby couldn't let that duck hear his frightened pounding heart, or his low quiet breathing. The trio waited in silence for the duck to go back inside. Luckily, he did so after a minute and did not notice either of them.

Scooby and Shaggy both let out huge sighs of relief.

"Rhat was close," Scooby said, breathing out.

"You said it Scoob," Shaggy agreed, also breathing out.

"You like, can come down now little pink dude," Shaggy said to him once he was sure the duck could not hear them.

Nodding Courage let his body relaxed and let go of the wall and fell back own. Shaggy caught him so he did not hurt himself on the way down. Nodding his thanks, the trio heard Muriel's scream, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage all felt blood ran cold in their veins. They raced around to the house to the same window to look inside. They saw Muriel tied up with a rope and the duck begin to tickle Muriel's foot with a large feather.

Shaggy gasped. Like, what is he doing with my aunt? Tightness gripped his chest and he struggled to steady his breathing.

Seeing this, The trio rushed around the house to the front and entered. Courage had a ginormous fan and used it to blow the duck away. But to the cowardly trio's dismay, the fan suddenly died and the wind stopped.

"Rourage! Rart the fan! Rart the fan!" Scooby uttered in panic.

"I'm trying! I'm trying!" Courage cried, as he tried to start up the fan again, but it just wouldn't start up again.

"There's Aunt Muriel!" Shaggy screeched, "Let's like grabbed her and get out!"

So the trio tried to take the time to grab Muriel, but Le Quack was already on his feet. Wasting no time, he pulled out his mallet.

"Let's run!" Shaggy yelled.

The duck began chasing the three all around the room. The chase went out into the kitchen.

They went out the kitchen door, Courage then flattened himself, as a rug, while Scooby and Shaggy hid behind the house. Le Quack looked around for the troublemakers, but didn't see any of them.

"Where are those pesky dogs and that pesky kid," Le Quack said to himself, unknownst to him he was stepping onto a flat Courage.

Courage tensed feeling chilled to the bone, praying that Le Quack didn't look down. Shaggy and Scooby trembled violently, praying that this con artist doesn't find them.

Le Quack give a groan of annoyance and went back inside.

"Rhat was a closer one," Scooby said, his chest heaving as he thought for breath.

"Like come on Scoob!" Shaggy said, to his dog and Scooby followed his owner.

"We gotta help!" Courage said, as he, Shaggy and Scooby, use poles to crashed to the window, but all it did was slammed them against the house and they fell down to the ground.

"Well, like that didn't work," Shaggy groaned.

"Let's just climb," Courage suggested.

The trio began to climb one of the poles to get to the attic. Reaching the top, Shaggy opened the window and entered the room.

Courage wasted no time getting onto his computer chair and began typing away. "Police, help! Mad man robbing house," he said frantically as he typed.

"Like don't you mean, mad duck," Shaggy joked, grinning.

"Reah!" Scooby added, chuckling, but the both only earned a glare from Courage.

"Right, like no time for jokes," Shaggy said, realizing his mistake.

They were pulled out of their conversation when they heard the sound of Muriel screaming once again.

"Ruriel!" Scooby grasped, urgently.

"Hold on Muriel!" Courage cried out.

"We're like, coming!" Shaggy quickly ran with his friends.

The three ran from there and back towards the stairs. The trio couldn't see too well from them, but could swear that what they could see was very... bizarre to say the least.

Muriel was tied up in a chair with a toy train running under it on a track. Le Quack began placing large pies on top of the train and sending them towards her. Muriel shrieked as the pie came closer. Le Quack even got a little sadistic as he increased the speed of the train and allowed the pie to splat into her.

RI got to get her outta here! Scooby was about to charge in there, but Courage shook his head at the big dog and went down by himself.

"Wait up pal," Shaggy murmured to his best friend, "Let's see what like, the dog dude does."

Knowing what they're was getting at, the duo kneeled on the stairs to remain hidden but still keep as close an eye on the scene as possible.

"Now do you remember? Where is your piggy bank?" he asked.

Muriel shrugged and Le Quack frowned.

"Pity," he said as he prepared another pie.

Shaggy and Scooby watched Courage creep from the chair and to the TV. He crawled away from the TV, dragging two wires with him. He attached them to the train bridge, which Le Quack certainly took notice of.

Just wait. Courage told himself, Wait until he's close enough. Le Quack tried rushing Courage, but Courage was quicker and activated something as he pushed a button. He did this, just as both Le Quack and the train reached the exact same spot. The resulting explosion left Le Quack singed and very angry.

"How annoying," the criminal duck growled.

Shaggy and Scooby went downstairs and starting grabbing the pies, while at it.

"Like, no use to letting the pies go to waste, huh Scoob?" Shaggy asked, with a handful of pies.

"Reah," Scooby agreed, with pies on his paws and he snickered.

Courage began tugging at the ropes binding Muriel, "Don't worry Muriel, we're here."

"Yeah Aunt Muriel," Shaggy promised, he tossed the pies into the air and gulped all of them down at once, "We're not like, going anywhere."

"Rothing's is gonna move us from this spot," Scooby declared, as he also tossed his pies into the air and and gobbled them down in one bite.

But as Scooby has jinxed it, the duck began to chase the trio with his mallet again. Running back to the kitchen and exiting again, this time Shaggy and Scooby hid behind Eustace's truck. While Courage somehow disguised himself as a plant, they all stiffened, fear shooting through them like lighting. Looking back at the house, the duck had gone back inside. Scooby signaed to Courage that it was safe, he exited the plant pot he was in and went to the front of the house. The duo saw that he was now inside a giant catapult.

Scooby and Shaggy hopped onto the catapult with Courage.

"We gotta get help," Courage said pulling the rope to make the catapult launch him, Shaggy and Scooby back to the attic.

But instead of going through the window, they all went through the wall. Courage sit himself back on the computer chair and was typing away again.

"You have an e-mail from the police, I'll read it to you," the computer said as Courage typed. "A madman in your house? How horrible."

"Like, at least they answered," Shaggy said.

"Where are you?" the computer said, continuing the message.

"Bagge farm in the middle of nowhere!" Courage typed out in response.

"You poor thing. What do you want from us?" the computer said finishing the message.

Hearing this, Courage gained a deadpan annoyed look on his while Scooby rolled his eyes and Shaggy just banged his head on the wall.

Why can't everyone ever take us so seriously!? Courage thought, bitterly.

The trio then heard Muriel let out a terrible scream, making the cowardly trio turned their heads.

"HELP!/RELP!" Shaggy, Scooby and Courage shouted, as Courage typed out before the trio rushed out the room and back downstairs.

Muriel was still tied up as Le Quack held up a platter with a lid on it. A clothes pin clamped tightly on his bill. He chuckled as he removed the lid off of the platter, revealing a wedge of smelly cheese underneath it. Shaggy gagged as he could smell it from where he was standing, Scooby pinched his nose to block off the smell and Courage swallowed the nausea that rose in his throat at the smell of that rotten cheese. Le Quack began holding the cheese closer to Muriel's face.

Now Courage was absolutely done as he stood in the dining room doorway and growled "Leave her alone!"

Le Quack, clearly also done, made a sour expression at them and began charging towards the door. Courage made sure to slam the door right in Le Quack's face and they could hear the clattering sound of him crashing on the other side. Before they could do anything else, Courage let out a loud whistle towards the dining room window. Shaggy and Scooby heard a clattering sound from outside and saw one of the windows open up. They watched as a large mouse stepped into the room through it.

"Zoinks!" Shaggy cried out, as Scooby jumped into his owner's arms.

Scooby felt his spine tingle with cold fear. Was this another criminal?

"It's okay guys," Courage reassured the two, "He's my friend."

"Hello! What's the problem now?" he asked.

Courage pointed at the door, "There's a duck with a stinky cheese!"

The mouse looked back at the door and said, "A cheese problem? I can fix that."

He stepped over to the door, opened it and was met by Le Quack still standing there holding his tray of cheese. The mouse put on a bib, glared at Le Quack and punched him, square in the face. As Le Quack flew across the room again, the mouse grabbed the cheese and ate it up in one bite with a loud belch.

"Well like, that's a mouse who loves his cheese," Shaggy said.

"Reah," Scooby nodded.

Courage then came to the front and smiled before turning to face the mouse.

"Thanks Mr. Mouse," Courage said thanking him and giving him some money.

The mouse took the five and said, "No prob," before turning around and leaving through the window again.

A scream drew the trio's attention, making them remember they've still had to save Muriel.

"Muriel, here we come!" Courage yelled.

Going back into the living room, they saw Le Quack bringing a tied-up Muriel over to the couch. Courage let out a terrified howl as he saw this.

Le Quack turned his attention towards the trio, still standing in the doorway.

Scooby tried to find his voice and said rather sheepishly to the con artist "Roh, hello,"

Le Quack grimaced, turned back to Muriel and said, "My darling, I must leave you for a moment. But only for a moment."

He then took his mallet and gave her a conk on the head as well, though a bit lighter than the one that he had given to Eustace earlier. He even gave her a kiss on the head before turning his focus back to the frightened trio.

"RUN AGAIN!" Scooby shouted to his two friends.

"Okay!" both Shaggy and Courage yelled.

The trio screamed in terror and dashed for the backdoor, only to find that this time it had been nailed shut. Boards were nailed into the wall on both sides of the door. They froze, their stomachs tightened with terror.

"Uh-oh, like the duck barricade the door guys!" Shaggy said in horror.

"Ro no!" Scooby cried in distraught.

They turned and to huddled together, as they saw Le Quack blocking the other way. There was no time to hide.

"I have you now, you dirty dogs and human," Le Quack said as he aimed a vacuum at the terrified trio.

Le Quack turned on the vacuum and a powerful suction came from it. So powerful that Shaggy was lifted off his feet and had it not been for him grabbing onto Scooby and Scooby grabbing onto Courage, they both would of been sucked into the vacuum.

It was even strong enough to pull in the things that Courage kept hidden in his fur. An accordion, soccer ball and even an anchor. Even the boards holding the door shut were no match for the vacuum's power as the nails came loose and were sucked inside along with the boards.

"Like, somebody help us!" Shaggy let out a terrified shriek, knowing that no one's around to save them. Please, like somebody save us!

Some of Courage's fur were also pulled into the vacuum, reveling his underwear, as he howled from both pain and fear.

"Rourage, hold on!" Scooby said, as he gripped the little dog tighter.

Le Quack, begin to laughing manically but failed to realize that a buildup/blockage was happening in the hose of the vacuum.

BOOM!

The trio landed on the floor and began sighing in relief. A few seconds later, the three heard the sounds of sirens approaching the house and approaching fast. A moment later, several uniformed police officers came running in through the backdoor, practically stepping all over the cowardly trio in the process.

"Oh, we've been looking for you!" The police officer with a mustache said before nodding to the officer to his side.

The officer nodded and placed huge cuffs on Le Quack's fins.

"What took you so long?" Courage asked, as he fainted from exhaustion.

"Like, one minute later, and we would of been goners," Shaggy added, also tried out from today.

The police loaded Le Quack into the back of their paddy wagon and drove off right away. With the threat now over, the trio went back over to Muriel on the couch and untied her.

"Ruriel, are you okay?" Scooby asked her.

She sat up and looked around before turning to the worried trio and smiling.

"A cup of tea would be lovely Scooby," she said before getting up. She then pulled the three into a hug.

"Oh, have either of you see Eustace?" Muriel asked.

"Like, oh yeah I forgot," Shaggy said, "I think he's still in the closet. We should like, check on him."

Hearing a groaning sound come from the closet, the trio went over to it and opened it. Inside Eustace finally waking up. He looked around in confusion.

"Where am I?" he asked as he looked over to the trio. "Who are you? Who am I?"

Shaggy, Scooby and Courage looked at each other unsure of what to do.

"Like, we should help Uncle Eustace get his memory back," Shaggy suggested.

"Rit seems the right thing to do," Scooby agreed.

"And Muriel will wonder what's up with him," Courage added.

The three thought for a moment and said. "Nah!/Rah!" They all decided to let it go. After all, the farmer did try to make Muriel into his servant. So, what's the harm in letting him be the one with amnesia for a little bit.

Courage pulled closed the door. All the while he, Shaggy and Scooby smiled.

Well that's all folks! Until next time, VK IS OUT PEACE!
