Here's another one. Now this episode is were things started to get creepy. (Expect the spider one.) Now for me the first half of the episode was scary. But when we get to the second half, it has some funny moments that got me laughing as you will see LOL! Enjoy :)

(5/09/22)

It was nighttime at the Bagge Farm, Muriel was having trouble sleeping that night, due to the mattress that was old and lumpy.

"That's it!" Muriel declared, finally having enough of her old mattress. "Eustace, I want a new mattress and that's the end of the matter," she answered with a frown before turning to Eustace and glaring at him.

Courage looked at his owner, and felt bad that's she's having a bad night sleep again, because of the mattress. Courage turned his head and try to get some sleep, hopefully tomorrow, she'll get a new mattress and finally get a goodnight sleep.

The next morning, Eustace was looking through the newspaper, like he was looking for something specific. Muriel was at the stove, cooking up some breakfast while Courage was sitting at the breakfast table.

"Man that smells good Aunt Muriel," Shaggy said, as he and Scooby came into the kitchen. "Need a hand?"

"Good morning you two, don't worry, sit down and I'll have breakfast out in just a minute," Muriel said, as she continued to focus on the food.

Scooby went over to sit down on the table, while Shaggy went to get some mustard, chilli flakes and chocolate sprinkles for Scooby's bacon and eggs.

"Morning Scooby, sleep well?" Courage asked.

"Reah," Scooby nodded, gratefully.

Eustace went to the table while holding his newspaper.

"Mattress special..." he began but stopped when he saw Scooby and Courage sitting at the table.

He took Scooby's plate and knocked it to the ground, grabbed Scooby by the collar of his neck deposited him on the ground. He also did grabbed Courage's bowl and dropped to the floor. He then took a step forward and did the same to Courage before smacking the book that was on the chair and sitting down where Courage was just at.

Shaggy watched the scene and couldn't stop from blurting out, "Like, why did you knock them off the chairs?"

Eustace shrugged and said, "Dogs shouldn't be sitting at the table, floor's more comfortable for them anyway."

Shaggy sighed in exasperation, he pat his best friend's head in sympathy, and he stooped down to Courage's level to pat him on the head, as well.

Scooby turned to Courage and asked, "Rattress special?"

"Muriel is getting a new mattress," Courage explained, "Her old mattress is broken and old."

"Roh," Scooby said, "Rakes sense."

Muriel looked back to them and said, "Ooh a mattress special."

She took the frying pan and placed the fried dog food into Courage's food bowl, making the little dog smile.

"With our mattress we'll change your life forever," Eustace continued reading.

Courage began munching on his food, but screwed up his face and suddenly spat it back out.

Shaggy looked down at him and said, "You okay man?"

"Yeah, she just put too much vinegar in it again," Courage answered as he cleaned his tongue with his paws. "But also, this ad seems too suspicious."

"Oh, so exciting," Muriel said giddy, she put down the pan and headed to the phone on the wall nearby.

Scooby felt his fur beginning to rise with nerves, "Rhat do you mean Rourage?"

"Are you ready to change your life forever?" the voice over the phone asked, turning to Muriel, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage decided to listen on the conversation a bit.

"Oh yes. I want to change my life forever," Muriel answered quickly and excitedly.

"This sounds too good to be true," Courage said, growing with concern after hearing what Muriel just said.

"Oh boy Scoob," Shaggy said, panic growing inside of him. "I like have a bad feeling about this."

"Re too," Scooby said, anxiously.

The three got up and headed into the living room, the trio quickly made their way over to the phone next to Muriel's rocking chair.

Like, what could be going on the other side of the line? Shaggy thought, wearily.

Picking up the phone, they all began to listen in on her conversation to the person or creature on the other end.

"We have a special, on our deluxe life changing mattress," the voice said in an eerily calm tone.

Courage began to panic with a gasp.

"Like, that doesn't so bad," Shaggy said, maybe they misjudge the conversation. Maybe this is just a normal mattress my aunt's getting.

"Oh, soft," they heard Muriel say from the kitchen thanks to the door still being open.

"It's smooth," the voice added.

"Smooth," Muriel said, dreamily.

"No lumps," the voice said finishing the description.

"Oh, no. I don't like lumps, we got lumps," Muriel said, frowning.

"We'll send it right over," the voice said.

"My address is-" Muriel began but the voice cut her off.

"We know! We've been waiting for you," the voice said before hanging up.

The cowardly trio felt cold chills down their spines.

"OH!" Courage yelped, in with his fur standing up.

"Okay, that's bad," Shaggy said, in a terrified voice.

"You're telling me," Courage replied, before running into the kitchen.

Shaggy and Scooby followed him into the kitchen and saw him trying to tell Muriel not to buy the mattress.

"I've always wanted a new mattress," Muriel said patting Courage on the head ignoring his warnings. "Shaggy. Be a dear and help me move our current mattress to the trash."

"Like, yes Aunt Muriel," Shaggy obeyed, while hiding his shaky voice.

Some time passed and the sun began to go down, the sky itself was almost red from the cloud build up and the dust in the air. Shaggy, Scooby and Courage had an ominous feeling all day about this so-called mattress special. Soon, they heard the sounds of a horse racing towards them with a whip sounding behind it. Turning to the sound, they saw a carriage coming towards them at high speeds.

Courage felt like his heart was about to pound from his chest, and he let out a pitiful whimper "This can't be happening," he closed his eyes in fear.

"Like, I have a feeling this mattress could be bad news," Shaggy said, trembling, while feeling his anxiety growing.

Scooby whimpered in response, a worm of uneasiness began to gnaw in Scooby's stomach. The feeling was practically justified when a dark stagecoach pulled right up to the house, pulled by an evil looking horse draped in a green cloak with the new mattress hanging out of the back of the stage. What got to them most though were the rats that were driving the stagecoach, both of whom were grotesque looking and nothing like the friendlier rat people that Shaggy and Scooby had met around Nowhere.

The grotesque duo get down from the stagecoach and pulled the green mattress off of the back, the trio couldn't help but whimper, feeling frightened out of their wits as the two carried it into the house. But what caught their attention was the demonic face that suddenly appeared in the green mattress, making the blood drained from the three friends' faces, the purple rat took notice of The trio's fear and let out an angry hiss at the three.

"Zoinks!" Shaggy cried, as Scooby leaped in Shaggy's arms.

Courage screech and latch onto Shaggy's leg.

"I have a bad feeling about this or my name is Ivana... and it's not," Courage gulped, as the creatures disappeared inside the house.

"Like same here man," Shaggy stood trembling, Scooby was cowering by his master's side.

Courage went up to Muriel and try to warn her again about what could happen. But like usual, she didn't understand him.

"Doesn't it look lovely," Muriel said before patting Courage on the head and entering the room.

The trio were about to follow her but stopped when the two creatures came back outside the house. With the purple one hissing at them while sticking out his tongue. Shaggy, Scooby and Courage screamed in fear when they saw that.

Muriel went up the stairs to her room, leaving the trio downstairs. Eustace was already snoring away in his armchair and they all knew better than to wake him up for a possible false alarm.

"I just can't wait to see this," Courage said, as they passed a sleeping Eustace.

They went up the stairs and into Muriel's room as she was happily bouncing on the new mattress. Neither Shaggy, Scooby or Courage missed the fact that the room was now taking on an eerie green glow.

"Zoinks, this is bad news guys, I'm telling you!" Shaggy whined.

Scooby buried his eyes under his paws and shook with fright, the three quickly ran up to her to try and get her away from the mattress.

"Aunt Muriel, there's like something bad about the mattress!" Shaggy warned.

"Reah, something bad," Scooby said, shaking with fear.

Courage even shifting into the form of the purple rat from earlier. He tugged on Muriel's apron some more and to his Shaggy and Scooby's surprise, she smacked Courage's paws away.

"Oh, you three stop it," Muriel said frowning, she then got up and guided them out of the room. "I'm going to have a lovely little nap now. I'll see you three soon."

Knowing that there was no arguing with her, Muriel closed the door. Courage tried to get back into the room, but couldn't even make the knob budge.

"Great. Like now what?" Shaggy asked, as he began to wonder how they can get back in without breaking the door down. What are we gonna do if we can't see what's going on?

Courage blinked, "I have an idea," he said getting Shaggy and Scooby's attention.

Nodding, they both followed him down the stairs and outside to the back of the house, he then began to dig for a few minutes before pulling out a ladder. Courage then jumped out of the hole with a ladder hanging over his head, he placed it underneath the window leading to Eustace and Muriel's room and climbed up, Shaggy and Scooby climbing up after him. From there, they could see what was going on inside.

Just as three of them expected, Muriel was sound asleep on top of her bed. Snoring softly without anything bizarre happening in the slightest. It looked like she was sleeping on just a regular mattress. But then, three strange mists came from beneath the mattress, began making their way up to Muriel's still slumbering form. The trio screamed in fear as the wisps began to envelop Muriel's body, finding a way into her through her nose.

They watched as Muriel began to levitate in the air. They were about to watch more, but Courage pulled on the sides of the ladder so hard that he ended up ripping the ladder down the middle, sending all three of them to the ground below.

"Ow!" Shaggy moaned as landed on the ground. "Like, how cheap was that ladder?"

Knowing how miserly his uncle was though, Shaggy shouldn't have been surprised that it broke as easily as tissue paper. But never mind that now, they had more pressing matters to attend to.

The three ran back into the house, slamming the door shut and startling Eustace awake, Courage ran over to Eustace and began babbling his usual speech, but Eustace was not in the mood to listen to him.

"Wake me up will you? I'll fix you," Eustace said angrily.

"Uncle Eustace, like something is wrong with the mattress and Aunt Muriel might be in trouble," Shaggy said, while shaking.

"Reah," Scooby said, his teeth chattering.

Courage then morphed into Muriel being surrounded by a swirling mist, morphing back into the rat from earlier and then back into himself as he levitated off of the ground.

Eustace however hadn't paid attention and instead continued his angry glare to three and said, "Get away from me," and then went back to reading his newspaper.

"No, we're serious," Shaggy protested.

"Reah, it's true," Scooby insisted.

Yeah, what they said is true! Courage thought, as he pulled at his ears with a howl and plucked Eustace off of his armchair and actually carried him up the stairs physically, risking the angry farmer's wrath, with Shaggy and Scooby following behind. Courage carried Eustace all the way up to the bedroom door and cracked it open.

All four of them took a peek inside and saw Muriel sitting upright in the bed. At least it mainly looked like Muriel. For the most part it looked like her, only instead of having Muriel's short white hair it had firery red hair sticking up all over her head with red eyes staring at them from behind Muriel's glasses, her skin having turned green as it stared at them from the bed.

It grinned at them, patted the side of the bed next to her and in a voice of pure evil it said, "Won't you join me?"

It began to laugh and it started twisting it's around in a terrifying manner with the four of them watching in utter horror. It continued to laugh as it spun it's head, until the head fell from Muriel's shoulders and rolled onto the ground. Shaggy, Scooby Courage and Eustace screamed as Muriel's head rolled over to the nightstand.

"Whoa! Like that's messed up man!" Shaggy cried out, in total fear and horror.

"Oh, can one of you boys give me a hand," it said.

The four screamed one more time and fled from the room.

Hours passed and the four were still sitting up in the living room. It was approaching midnight and they could still hear the creature up in Muriel's bedroom, groaning, gasping and even snoring a few times. All four of them shivered every time the demon made another sound, no matter how small. It was especially chilling to know that it was someone they loved that the sounds were coming out of.

The clock struck midnight and the sounds were getting louder and more pronounced with each passing minute. Like it was getting more adapted to the vessel it currently inhabited. Eustace looked terrified as Shaggy, Scooby and Courage were shivering terribly.

"Dang mattress, gave her nightmares!" Eustace complained.

"What shall we do guys?" Shaggy asked, trembling with anxiety.

"RI don't know," Scooby answered, also trembling, horror gnawing in his insides.

The creature made some more eerie noises, leaving all four of them shuddering once again.

"Well? We can't sit here all night," Eustace said, with fear in his voice.

"What do you mean we?" Courage whimpered.

The creature made more noises once again, terrifying them all once again. With every groan the creature made, Scooby huddling and cowering next to his master.

Eustace pointed at Shaggy, Scooby and Courage and said, "She likes the three of you more, you three go see how she is."

"I maybe man's best friend, but really," Courage said, annoyed.

"Like, there's no way we're going back up there," Shaggy said, determined to stay in the living room.

"Ro away," Scooby agreed.

"GET UP THERE!" Eustace shouted which caused the trio to run back up the stairs to the room.

As they reached the bedroom door and the sounds got louder and louder. The more the sounds the thing made, the more horrified they became. This time, without swallowing their fear, they opened the door and were surprised when a chunk of ice broke off of the door frame and landed on the floor.

The room itself was now freezing. Despite it having been a warm day, the room itself now felt colder than a winter night. In the middle of the room was the creature, still lying in bed and still in possession of Muriel's body. With fear still prodding at them, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage stepped into the room with the creature remaining in bed and not bothering to even look up at them. The three couldn't help but whine.

"Shaggy! Scooby! Courage!" the creature called out as it turned it's head to them.

"Like-ho-ho-ho-how does it know our names?" Shaggy stammered, trembling.

"R-R-R-RI don't know," Scooby stammered, shaking in fright.

Steady waves of anxiety ran through Courage, What could that thing possibly want?

"Closer," said the creature.

Shaggy, Scooby and Courage complied and took a step closer.

"Closer," the creature said again.

The three felt hesitant, but still took a step or two closer until they were just next to the bed and within arms reach of the thing. The three of them trembled, not wanting to be anywhere near this beast.

The creature seemed to remain calm and spoke softly to them.

"It would be lovely... if I could... have a cup... of..." the creature said before finally shouting "TEA!"

It pulled the covers off of the bed, revealing a tea tray with a pot of tea and some cups were sitting on the bed. The sudden holler of the creature making the three scream. But quickly calmed down however when they realized that it was just a false alarm and the demon was simply messing with them.

"Rokay demon," Scooby began hesitantly as he was not sure what he was doing. "Rhat have you done with Ruriel?"

The creature laughed and said, "She's in here, with us."

Out of nowhere, the demon returned to Muriel's normal look and she fearfully said, "Courage! Shaggy! Scooby! Help me!"

Rhe's aware what's going on around her. Scooby realized.

But then she returned to the demon's normal look and with a laugh it said, "Whoops! Let one slip out."

Courage's eyes widen with fury, he felt burning depths of his stomach, no possess HIS Muriel and gets away with it "You won't get away with this!" he snarled glaring at the demon.

"Oh yeah? What are YOU going to do about it?" the demon said to Courage.

In a rare move for the little dog, Courage glared at the demon, as rage roared through him and let his fingers crack. The demon did the same and stared Courage down and cracked it's own knuckles. Shaggy and Scooby looked at each other in confusion not sure about what was going on and watched. They became more confused however as Courage held out his thumb and the demon did the same as well. Then when the two clasped hands did they finally understand what was going on.

The two engaged in a thumb war. While Shaggy and Scooby were rutting for the small dog, Courage summoned every strength he possessed, the two battled it out with both of them being evenly matched, yet still the demon taunted Courage with every move he made.

Courage began to sweat as he continued to concentrate on the game before him. The demon however retained a look of complete confidence. Eventually the two managed to press their thumbs together, but then the demon's thumb slipped while Courage's remained upright.

They remained focused for a moment longer, before the demon hollered out "one, two, three" and managed to pin Courage's thumb with it's own, making Courage lose.

The demon laughed in triumph as Courage, Scooby and Shaggy looked down in defeat.

"Hang on Muriel, help in on the way!" Courage said as he sat down and began typing.

"Exorcist?" the computer asked.

"Reah, an exorcist," Scooby answered.

"Instructions for your basic exorcism... Oh my," the computer said, mocking the three.

"Like just give us the instructions," Shaggy demanded.

The computer printed out the instructions, "Good luck kids."

"Come guys, we have to save my aunt," Shaggy said urgently, as he grabbed the instructions.

"Right let's go," Courage echoed and ran downstairs with Shaggy and Scooby right behind him.

Back in the living room, Eustace waited for the three to return. As the cowardly trio came to stop in front of him, Shaggy handed the sheet of paper to his uncle for him to read. "What's this?" he asked.

"Like, hopefully a way to save Aunt Muriel," Shaggy answered.

Eustace adjusted his glasses and said, "To perform an exorcism, put on a flowing... garment."

As he looked up from the sheet of paper, he was surprised to see Courage holding up one of Muriel's nightgowns and night cap. A look of confused anger crossed his face as he grabbed them and way for a moment and return for the three to see Eustace, dressing in one of Muriel's nightgown.

Eustace turned his attention back to the sheet of paper and said, "Incantation to exorcise demon. What? Hullabaloo and howdy doo. Musty prawns and Timbuktu. Yeltzy by and hippity poo. Kick em in the dish pan hoo hoo hoo."

"Rhat?" Scooby asked, confused that was part of the incantation.

Shaggy and Courage were surprised and confused as well.

Eustace looked up from the paper and said, "Kick em in the dish pan hoo hoo hoo?"

"Like, what kind of incantation is that?" Shaggy asked.

Courage merely shrugged.

"Re had no idea," Scooby said honestly as he have no clue why that part is in there.

Back in the bedroom, the demon was watching the four of them in amusement as Eustace stood next to the bed, still dressed up in Muriel's clothes and holding the sheet of paper. He was still trembling in fear.

"Get that Demon! Get that Demon!/Ret that Demon! Ret that Demon!" Shaggy, Scooby and Courage chanted, while holding some pompoms.

Eustace held the paper up to his face and began to read it. "Uh... hullabaloo and howdy... doo. Musty prawns and tim-tim-tim-timmybuktu," he said.

The demon laughed at Eustace and said, "Call that an incantation?"

So Eustace decided to try again and said, "Hullabaloo and howdy doo."

The demon put a hand to it's ear and said, "Speak up! Won't hear you in the balcony."

Eustace, getting fed up, shook his head clear and said, "Musty prawns and Timbuktu."

However he was interrupted when a giant tongue came out of the demons mouth and began licking Eustace all over his face, while he continued the incantation weakly.

The demon withdrew it's tongue and said, "Face it sonny, you're a failure!"

"Yay, farmer," Courage said dryly, as he waved a white flag around, Honestly, I should of seen that coming.

"Like, why am I not surprise," Shaggy groaned, feeling he should of know better that this was going to fail from the start.

"Remon…Remon…Re's our man, if he can't do it great," Scooby grumbled.

Eustace wasn't completely discouraged as he said, "Come on, give me a break, I can do it."

"Want a tip?" The demon asked.

"Yeah, sure," Eustace agreed leaning in closer.

Only to get surprise when the demon's mouth suddenly expanded and gurgling was heard, and a second later, a large amount of green vomit came rushing out hitting Eustace in the face like a geyser. The demon then wiped any remaining vomit off its face with a napkin, making the trio cringed with revulsion.

"Now that's just nasty," Shaggy cringed in disgust.

"Risgusting," Scooby added, with revulsion.

"Looks like it's up to us guys," Courage said, before running out of the room.

"Like, I was afraid you're going to say that," Shaggy sighed.

The three went outside the house and went to the water pump nearby. Once Courage got three buried garments, he got out of the hole and gave one to Shaggy and Scooby.

"Ready guys?" Courage asked.

"Ready, like ready Scoob?" Shaggy turned to his best friend.

"Let's Scooby-Dooby-Do it," Scooby answered in determination, ready to finish this once and for all.

Back down in the bedroom, the demon laughed at the memory of what it had just done to Eustace and had savored the look of horror on Eustace's face as the farmer had run out of the room after having been puked on. It began to lie back down on the bed, when the door flew open and Shaggy, Scooby and Courage stepped into the room, dressed in her nightgowns. The demon gain a confused look as the three stood next to him.

Shaggy began, "Like, hullabaloo and howdy doo. Musty prawns and Timbuktu. Yeltzy by and hippity poo. Kick em in the dish pan hoo hoo hoo."

"Hullabaloo and howdy doo! Musty prawns and Timbuktu! Yeltzy bye and hippity hoo! Kick 'em in the dishpan! Hoo hoo hoo!" Courage said trying his best to say the incantation without faltering.

"Rabba Loo Rowdy Roo. RaRaRa Riparoo. Roo Roo! Rary Ruff Rippity Roo. Rick'em in the Ristpan, Roo Roo Roo!" Scooby chanted shaking his paws up and down.

An uncomfortable silence filled the air as they waited for any response from the demon.

The demon began laughing their pathetic attempts, but those laughs suddenly turned to gasps and a loud groan emanated from the demon.

The three watched as a green mist came out of Muriel's nose and floated up into the air. As it floated about, they saw Muriel's hair and skin turn back to normal as she passed out on the bed. The three began to sigh in relief when the mist turned it's attention away from Muriel and then towards Shaggy.

Scooby froze, "Raggy!"

"Look out!" Courage called out, worriedly to his friend.

It rushed for the poor cowardly teen, Shaggy looked up the mist and gasped in terror. There was no time to run he shut his eyes tight, waiting to be possessed. But as it reached for him, the bedroom door flew open again and in stepped Eustace, wearing a HAZMAT suit as he approached the bed.

With more confidence in his voice this time, Eustace restarted the incantation and said, "Hullabaloo and howdy doo. Musty prawns and Tim-"

He was cutoff as the mist turned away from Shaggy and then towards Eustace. Phasing through the faceplate of Eustace's helmet, it invaded his body through his nose and Eustace let out some shuddering gasps. Icy horror gripped Shaggy, Scooby and Courage like a massive hand.

By the time he looked up, the demon had taken full control of his body and turned to them with a hiss, it turned back to Muriel and began climbing onto the bed with an evil laugh. Muriel began waking up and lifted her head to see a possessed Eustace crawling onto the bed and towards her with death in it's eyes.

Muriel screamed at the sight and just as Eustace stood over her, ready to finish it's deed, it felt a sharp pain on it's rear. It looked back to see Courage, biting into his rear and tried to shake him off. With a few seconds to breathe, Muriel grabbed her rolling pin and struck the demon so hard on the head that it broke through the top of the helmet and knocked him out good.

With the demon now out cold, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage grabbed the bottom of the mattress and the three of them rolled the demon up tight with it. They even went as far as wrapping a chain around the mattress and locking it, sealing the demon inside.

With the demon now contained, Muriel wrapped her arms around Shaggy, Scooby and Courage in gratitude.

Back downstairs, Muriel called back to the people that had brought them the mattress. There was no way they were keeping the thing in the house after everything that had just happened.

When they answered, Muriel wasted no time in saying, "We are NOT satisfied at all. Take your special mattress back."

And with that, she hung up the phone with a slam.

Shortly after that, the rats that had delivered the mattress to the residence returned and took it back with them while the demon possessed Eustace was still wrapped up in it. The sales rats took off with the mattress in tow, but the purple one decided to look back and hiss at them one last time.

That night, the rest of the family decided to spend the evening lying in the living room with the TV on. Shaggy had even managed to pull out a bedroll for him to sleep on and with some pillows and a blanket from the closet.

"Now, isn't this cozy?" Muriel asked as Courage lied on top of her.

"Like, it sure is Aunt Muriel," Shaggy answered, fighting off a yawn.

"Now, THIS is a bed I can sleep in any day," Courage said, his eyes drooping.

"Reah," Scooby agreed. "Scooby-Dooby-Doo!"

The indication part of the episode never fails to make me laugh. Also in my opinion, I thought the demon, was kind of hilarious, disturbing but hilarious LOL! Also I put a Aladdin reference in this chapter. XD! Until then, VK is out peace!
