Here'a another one. Now for this one I'm not gonna do Freaky Fred's thoughts in this chapter because this is manly Shaggy, Scooby and Courage's point of view in the story, so sorry about that everyone. Any let's get on it.
(Reedited 5/09/22)
Eustace was out in the hall, installing a lock on the bathroom door. Shaggy, Scooby and Courage were handing him various tools so that Eustace could work on installing it on the door. He was not looking forward to Fred's visit. He had met the young man several times before and was NOT looking forward to his visit at all. So much so that he was setting up several precautions for his visit, in case the young man went mad during his visit.
"That freak's not setting one freaky foot in this house," Eustace said sourly and proceeded to torment the lock on the door with the screwdriver he'd just been given.
"Like, what are you talking about Uncle Eustace?" Shaggy whimpered, his stomach turned over about the way his uncle was using 'freak' in every sentence.
Eustace made a glance at three cowardly trio, who were already shivering in fright and decided that now would be a golden opportunity to scare them.
"The freak's a barber, a FREAKY barber with his own freaky barbershop where freaky things happen. Freaky barber things," Eustace said in an eerie manner to the three of them.
Shaggy, Scooby and Courage upon hearing this, were starting to get terrified out of their minds and were shaking with fear already. They hoped that Eustace was just exaggerating and that Fred was a completely normal human being.
"Like, I think that this not the kind of Fred, we want to meet," Shaggy said, with fear creeping into his voice.
"Reah," Scooby agreed, as he whimpered.
"I just hope he's just a normal human being," Courage said, as he shook with fright. "The last thing I want, is for him to be a monster."
"Please, like don't say monster," Shaggy said, feeling even more anxious now, with the word 'monster.'
A moment later, the sound of their doorbell rang out. The three looked towards the stairs. Courage howled with fright, imagining HISdefinition of freaks waiting just outside. Shaggy and Scooby were shivering and gulping in fear. The doorbell rang again as Muriel approached the door, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage kept their eyes glued on the door as the bell rang a couple more times. And before long, Muriel answered.
Muriel smiled as she opened the door and said, "Ah Fred, my dear nephew. What brings you to our cozy corner of the world?"
Standing at the doorway was a tall lanky figure. His hair was yellow and messy, but had a crazed look to it and eyes so green that looked like they were peering into their souls. The wide smile was plastered on his face. It wasn't until he spoke that they saw the crooked teeth adorned his mouth.
"Holiday," Fred answered simply.
Shaggy, Scooby and Courage stared at the man, terrified, their hearts thudded in their chests.
Once inside, Muriel sat in her usual chair and motioned for Fred to sit in the sofa.
Muriel saw Shaggy and said, "Oh Shaggy, come see your cousin."
I don't want get near to him! Shaggy thought, trying to control his fear while shaking, but not wanting to look disrespectful in front of his aunt, Shaggy walked over to the couch where Fred sat. "H-H-H-Hi," he stuttered as he sat down next to him.
Fred gave him a side glance and said, "Hello."
Shaggy couldn't help but shiver at the sound of his voice.
Muriel turned her head to Scooby and Courage who were still sitting up on the stairs. "Courage, Scooby, come and meet Fred."
Courage had been discussing with himself whether or not he was afraid of this Fred-person, but the moment those eyes turned in his direction, he decided that yes, he was very afraid of Fred. Scooby was shivering in terror, he was not liking the way Fred looked. Something about his smile and his voice was giving him the creeps. He and Courage both whined, wanting to run upstairs and hide away, but their eyes were locked in a strange staring-contest. Fred did nothing but smile that wide smile of his, while Scooby and Courage were already both soaked in the cold sweat of fear.
However, because Courage loved Muriel and didn't want to upset her. And Scooby, not wanting to leave Shaggy, Courage or even Muriel alone, with this psycho, they both ended up taking a seat right next to Fred, who kept staring at them in that strange way. A short time later, Eustace came down the stairs and was walking rather quickly. Not even bothering to look in their direction.
"Going to go to the hardware store and get the you know... to fix the bathroom door," he said as he walked to the door. "Just don't try shutting it, because you won't be able to get it open."
But before he could go out, Muriel called him over.
"Eustace, our guest is here. Say hello to Fred," Muriel called as Fred turned his attention towards Eustace.
After a few seconds of everlasting silence, Eustace went to the sofa and sat down next to Fred, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage, said "Yeah..." and pulled up a newspaper. As he began reading, he added "Hiya" to Fred.
Neither Fred nor Muriel noticed his 'freak' comment or they had just ignored it.
Courage was about to look back up at Fred's face when something caught his attention, what seemed like some sort of wristband was just barely showing from under a green sleeve, and when Courage decided to have a closer look at it, he discovered that it said:
'HOME FOR FREAKY BARBERS CALL 555-1234,'
This was quite unsettling for poor Courage, as his heart jumped into his throat and he tried to warn Muriel by doing things such as jumping up and down, waving his small arms/front legs around, saying something incomprehensible.
"Rou okay Rourage?" Scooby asked, urgently.
"Yeah, you look like you seen a ghost," Shaggy added, uneasily.
"Boys, shush now," Muriel said, and looked at Fred before continuing, "You must be exhausted, Fred, dear. Would you like to freshen up?"
Fred continued to smile, rubbed his chin and said, "Yes, been quite a trip it has."
Muriel turned to Shaggy, Scooby and Courage and said, "Show Fred the bathroom please boys."
"Like, no way!" Shaggy protested with a shudder, not wanting to be near Fred anymore.
"Ro way," Scooby retorted, also not wanting to be near this freak anymore.
Courage let out a high-pitched whine that sounded very much like a 'no', and moved around uncomfortably, even resorting to such measures as pulling his own ears while shaking his head.
Muriel's only comment was, "Such a fuss. This rudeness won't do!" And the small gesture of waving a finger at the three.
"Okay, We'll do it!" Courage said, giving in. "But I won't like it!"
"Like, I was afraid you were going to say that," Shaggy gulped, grimly. "C'mon Scoob."
Scooby whimpered, his stomach lurching as he follow his owner.
Courage, Shaggy and Scooby then proceeded to lead Fred upstairs, Courage hoped to the highest heavens that nothing out of the usual was going to happen. Courage opened the bathroom door for Fred.
"Okay, we show Fred the bathroom, now let's go back downstairs," Shaggy give himself a shake, anxious to get away from Fred.
Before anything could happen Eustace handed the three the towels. "YOU give 'em to the freak!" he said and pushed Shaggy, Scooby and Courage into the bathroom and slammed the door behind them.
Shaggy, Scooby and Courage all got up to their feet and paws and the three exchange fearful glances.
The three screamed, Courage was desperately pulling at the doorknob, wanting nothing more than to get out. Scooby and Shaggy in a panic banged on the door desperate to get out of here.
"Li-Like I want out of here," Shaggy gasped.
Fred who, for lack of other chairs, was sitting on the lid of the toilet, smiled 'warmly' at them.
"Now don't you boys worry, Eustace will be back soon to get the door open," they heard Muriel on the other side of the door.
Rhich means that, he's never gonna come back. Scooby thought, his stomach churning and picturing all the horrible things Fred was gonna do to them.
The cowardly trio were desperately trying to get out, the man was disturbingly fixated on them.
"HELP!" Shaggy yelled.
"RELP!" Scooby screeched.
"GET US OUTTA HERE!" Courage begged.
Finally, Fred spoke in a polite voice, "Boys…"
Courage let out a terror-stricken gasp, the man made a statement that sent chills down his spine, Shaggy was trembling against the door, Scooby Doo huddled beside Shaggy and Courage frightened.
"Your hair..."
Shaggy, Scooby and Courage gasped.
"It reminds me of the first time I knew just how I felt about... HAIR," said Fred, stood up, pulled the turquoise piece of plastic-fabric that was hanging around the shower area down from its hangers, and kept smiling as he with slow steps walked closer and closer to the three huddled frightened friends.
Courage had been placed on the toilet and was still shaking with fear, while Shaggy and Scooby, were by him, also shaking with fear. Fred wrapped the fabric around Courage's neck, he searched for a short while in his bag and found a large electric shaver. He clicked a little button on it, and it started to buzz quietly. Courage made a move, trying to see if he could possibly escape, but Fred held him back, still smiling.
As Fred shaved Courage, and then Shaggy and Scooby, he had been staring into nothing and so he hadn't noticed Courage hiding. In the toilet. Of course, Fred just smiled, happy as ever, and pulled up the scared dog, telling him "Now now, you shouldn't play in the toilet," Parts of Courage's head were already shaved.
"Don't worry, boys," Muriel said, on the other side of the door. "Eustace should be at the hardware-store by now."
How's he gonna help!? Courage thought, caustically. He's probably goofing off or something!
Fred gave Courage a small shake to get him somewhat dry from having been hiding in the toilet. With a smile on his face, Fred walked to the window, stared out at the blue sky and let himself remember.
"Like, we need to get out of here," Shaggy whispered to the two dogs, he had his head shaved crossways.
"Rut, how? Rhe door's locked," Scooby reminded his, cowardly friends, his fur was also shaved the same style as Courage.
"And the farmer is definitely not coming back, in a while," Courage added.
Shaggy had an idea, it was crazy, but he was desperate. "Maybe the little dog dude can like go into the sink, through the pipe and out the door to get help."
"What?" Courage asked, flabbergasted, "But I'm too big for the drain pipe. And what about you guys?"
"Rust go, Rourage," Scooby told him, even though he didn't want to be in the same room as Fred, at least Courage would escape and possibly go get some help. "Re'll be okay."
But before anything can happen, Fred grabbed Courage, placed him onto the toilet and grabbed his electric shaver again.
"Courage!/Rourage!" Shaggy and Scooby screamed, knowing there was nothing they can do, but watch their poor frightened friend gave shaved more.
The electric shaver hummed happily as it danced over Courage's fur, the remaining hair on his head, the fur on his stomach that he so loved being scratched on. He screamed and it didn't matter because the shaver blocked out everything else.
Scooby and Shaggy, could only watched in terror, as his fur was getting shaved off, as Fred finish with Courage, he also shaved all of Shaggy's hair off, while the poor peace-loving-teen screamed his head off. And then he Shave Scooby too, same style as Courage.
Fred, now standing at the window again, claimed, "I never more was naughty. Well," he added, and for the first time the smile didn't seem friendly: but cruel and sadistic. "Maybe not never..."
The smile disappeared for a fraction of a second when Fred realized that Courage was trying to crawl into the pipe through the sink. Fred returned immediately as he pulled the pink beagle out of there, Courage dug his nails into the metal of the pipe, and fought with every fiber of his being, but it was no use. Courage and Scooby were completely shaven from their waists and up. Courage, was placed on the toilet yet again. Courage's body was shivering on it's own accord, fear washing over him
Courage ran towards the door where he, Shaggy and Scooby could hear Muriel.
"Is everything alright in there?" Muriel asked.
Courage let out a scream and began clawing at the floor under the door for salvation.
"Let's us out!" Shaggy yelled, his fear rising out as he banged on the door.
"RI want out!" Scooby exclaimed, as he pulled on the door knob.
But Muriel merely assumed that they're was eager for the pancakes and set the plate on the floor for Courage to grab.
"Like, are those pancakes?" Shaggy asked, forgetting the situation they're in.
"Rancakes?" Scooby asked, excitedly.
"Guys!" Courage snapped.
"Sorry/Rorry," Scooby and Shaggy said in unison, realizing this was not the time to think about eating.
They turned and to their alarm, Fred was standing by and he grabbed the pancakes.
"No! Not the pancakes!/Ro! Not the pancakes!" Shaggy and Scooby exclaimed.
Courage just, howled in distress, and added, "Really guys!?"
"Wonderful, Eustace should be back any minute now," Muriel said, on the other side of the door.
Shaggy, Scooby and Courage just started banging on the door, while screaming for their lives. The three didn't want to face the truth, that there was no way out. So they still fought as if their lives depended on it.
Fred meanwhile, had a plate of pancakes and was holding one in his hand. "No need for panic. Behold, sustenance hungry whelp!"
Fred then stuffs the pancake into Courage's mouth, who swallowed them with strain. Fred, then picked him up and Courage pulled out a phone, trying to see Fred's wristband phone number, but his suit cuff covered it up. Courage then gets two more pancakes shoved into his mouth.
Courage ended up ripping the wristband off without Fred noticing, as he was too busy stuffing pancakes into Courage's mouth. Shaggy and Scooby winced, as their friend was getting treated that way, he put, Courage into the sink and then shaved the rest of his waist down all while he howled. Fred grabbed Courage out of the sink and shaved his paws, as he screamed, and Courage fell to the floor while Fred grabbed Scooby and shaved the rest of his fur, while the Great Dane was struggling to get away, but of course it was no use.
Courage seized his chance and pressed the number 555-1234 into the phone, he whispered quickly and managed to hear the promise of help before he was pulled away by Fred's hand. Courage was now sitting on the toilet for what would hopefully be the last time, while Shaggy, and a traumatized Scooby sit next to the small dog, Scooby whined, now all of his fur was gone, expect for his tail.
Shaggy patted his back in hopes of comforting him, "Don't worry buddy, it'll all grow back."
Courage turned to his friends and whisper, "Don't worry I call somebody, help's on the way."
"Roh thank goodness," Scooby breathed a sighed of relief.
Fred had placed himself at the edge of the bathtub and was motioning for cowardly dog duo to come over, Scooby and Courage looked at the last of their furs on their bodies, their tails, they whined while covering them protectively. Fred nodded and kept on smiling.
Courage screamed with fear, and Scooby shook his head and gave out "Ru Rh!"
Shaggy stood in protection of his friends. "You're not shaving their tails off. They've been through enough!"
"Sweet boy, afraid I'll shave your dogs' tails?" Fred asked. "Why now, that would be WEIRD!"
Like, you hadn't done anything weird to us today? Shaggy thought dryly.
There was a sound, omething other than the buzzing and the screaming, sirens. Fred clicked the button on the shaver, the three went quiet, and the sirens were then the only noise to be heard. Fred got up and went to the window once more, glancing down to find a familiar sight.
"Surround the area! Cut the power! We don't want anyone getting SHAVED in there!" a voice called out.
Roo late. Scooby thought sarcastically.
"So ends our little story," said Fred to the officers below him.
Courage sighed, relieved beyond belief. "What took them so long?" he asked.
"Like yeah," Shaggy agreed, "One more minute and I like, probably gone insane."
There was a bang, the door was being knocked down. After two more attempts, two large men in blue uniforms came in, wrapped Fred in a straitjacket, and lead him outside.
A minute later, they were back on the front porch to see Fred off as he was being taken away by men and loaded into a padded ambulance. Even though she was sad to see him leave early, Muriel was just glad to have seen him during his brief visit and waved him goodbye.
As the ambulance drove away, Muriel lowered her arm and said, "What a lovely visit. Too bad Eustace didn't get to say goodbye."
"Yeah, like poor Uncle Eustace," Shaggy said sarcastically without Muriel picking up on it.
As the ambulance drove out of sight, Muriel went back into the house and the three shaved victims followed suit.
"So it's agreed," Shaggy said, as he and the other two walked in. "We all like, like Fred from the Mystery Inc, better."
"Rep," Scooby replied.
"Agreed," Courage said I may not know him, but I rather have him, then that creep any day.
Well that's all for now. VK IS OUT PEACE!
