Chapter 308 Curse Of Dark Magic Fire
Within the cave, the green mist had become very dense.
Even though there was no wind, some of it still reached Evan's nose.
It had a slightly bitter taste. After inhaling it, the scene in front of Evan's eyes began to blur, and his head spun.
He shook his head hastily, but fortunately, the Acromantula venom was not potent enough to cause him a coma, at most.
Evan knew he was okay. There was no point in continuing. He was ready for the final blow, and the magic left in him was not enough to summon and control more cones.
"Welcome to your death, human!" The female spider waved her pedipalps and said, "You will be my meal, mine, and my children's..."
"Alright, goodbye!" Evan waved his hand, with no intention of listening further.
Seeing Evan's movements, she was clearly astonished.
She then let out a monstrous roar. She thought Evan was mocking her.
Even though she was clearly the winner, this human boy was completely unruffled. He vowed to split her belly open in an instant and...
Just as the gigantic female spider was imagining that, Evan raised his wand in his hand, waved it downward, and numerous sharp stone cones shot out.
Whoop, Whoop, Whoop!
The sound of being pierced by rocks was unexpected, and the Acromantula turned around horrified, seeing her belly almost torn apart instantly.
Her entrails and blood mixed, with a large number of unhatched spider eggs among them.
A green and viscous liquid splattered everywhere, covering almost half of the cave.
Click, click, click...
She tried to move, but the pain was too intense.
The gigantic female spider realized what had happened. She writhed frantically, her whole body twisting and folding. She looked dreadful.
"You have won, human..." she said angrily.
Although she wouldn't give up. It was clear she was about to kill Evan at any moment. It was obvious she was about to taste fresh human flesh she hadn't seen for a long time. Her huge dark green pedipalps ruthlessly aimed at Evan, with her final rage, hoping to kill him before dying.
Evan dodged quickly, but she seemed determined to kill him.
The gigantic female spider attacked wildly in the cave, the entire space trembled, the thunderous blows continued, and even the ground began to crack.
Evan crouched hurriedly, maneuvering his body to let his opponent's large pedipalps pass by.
Her large pedipalps smashed the wall of the pond behind Evan, and thermal water gushed out, scattering the floating spider eggs.
A few seconds later, Evan found himself in a new dilemma. Although his belly had been torn apart, he wouldn't die immediately. Now he writhed and struggled. Regardless of the attack, he couldn't resist, and the space to dodge was getting smaller and smaller.
He was surrounded by a deadly green mist, unable to enter it. He could only dodge along the edge of the pond.
He had planned to lure her out, and she was moving slower and the vitality of this huge female spider was decreasing.
However, the actual situation did not unfold in the direction of Evan's imagination.
The spider eggs that fell on the ground with the fountains began to hatch. The formed spider larvae crawled out and stealthily approached Evan.
Click, click, click...
The intense sounds could almost drive anyone mad. He dared not go near those spider larvae. It would be terrible if they entered his bloodstream.
"Incendio," Evan reused his ancient skills and shouted.
He was hoping to burn those spider larvae as he did at the Lair entrance.
A golden reddish flame burst from the end of his wand, but no scale formed and it vanished completely, turning into dense water vapor.
Due to the spring season, the surrounding air was overly humid and Evan's flame failed to ignite at all.
The situation before him was truly dire. More and more spider larvae were hatching from the eggs, numbering in the hundreds. Completely soaked, they encircled Evan, closing in on him, eager to savor the taste of flesh and blood.
Above him, the massive female spider went berserk; her sharp, oversized pincers falling desperately. If accidentally touched, the cost would be crushing his body and bones.
Due to the poisonous green mist, dodging and escaping was impossible.
It could be said that Evan was cornered. What he needed to do now was choose a relatively less painful way to die...
To be crushed into mincemeat? Or become the host for the spider larvae that would suck the flesh dry? Or to be poisoned?
"Curse it!" Evan gritted his teeth and made a decision. He began reciting an ancient and intricate spell, his wand performing intricate motions at top speed.
The raging flame began to spout from the end of his wand, its temperature several times higher than previous flames. Everything in its path was reduced to ashes.
Of course, the spider larvae, and even the springs, were ablaze.
Evan's wand moved outward, releasing the final blaze of fire before, without looking back, panting, he scrambled as fast as he could towards the pool behind him.
Since a large part of the pool wall had been destroyed, the fountain inside was already very low. A large number of soft white spider eggs floated in it, and a foot on them would trigger a belch. A heap of slimy green mucus splattered, slick and repugnant.
Evan got up unsteadily. He dared not waste time, and though he didn't know what lay behind him, he only knew that if he wanted to live, he had to run as fast as he could. His fate was on the other side of the pool, where the female spider had already crawled towards the hidden passage.
There should be an entrance to proceed downward. Only by quickly exiting the cave would he have any chance of surviving.
Could he hear the sound of flames and the howling of the spiders behind him?
Evan could imagine the horror of the scene, as the spell he had just used was Dark Magic's "Fiendfyre," the darkest and most evil fire curse.
Once unleashed, there was no way to control the flames, or rather, with Evan's magic, they were beyond his control. He could only hope they would extinguish on their own.
These flames seemed to have a life of their own. They devoured everything, capable of seeking out and burning all living targets. The gigantic female spider, who had shown too much arrogance, was nothing before them. Her huge body and tough blue-black exoskeleton soon turned to ashes.
Now, only Evan remained alive!
The furious flames pursued Evan through the fountain, mutating and forming a massive herd of burning beasts: flaming serpents, chimeras, and dragons rose and fell and rose again, and the entire underground cave turned into a sea of fire.
Hundreds of white spider eggs were flung into the air within their fanged mouths, thrown high on clawed legs, before being consumed by the inferno.
