Courage awoke with a start and a scream, he looked at his masters' room and realize it was just a nightmare. That nightmare that always plagued him ever since we was a puppy. The night was calm, with the usual crickets chirping. Courage put his paws on his mouth. I hope I didn't wake up anyone. He took a glance behind him, and saw that Muriel was up looking concerned and Eustace not looking happy that he was woken up. Too late. Courage thought in dismay.

"Wake us up, will ya?!" Eustace growled at the small pink beagle.

The grumpy farmer grabbed Courage by the scruff went to the door and threw him out the bedroom. He than slammed the door, leaving Courage alone in the hallway.

Courage filled the glass with water over the sink he took big gulps of water to calm himself down after that horrible nightmare he ended up having.

"Rou okay Rourage?"

Courage jumped, he let out a frightened squeal as he turned but calmed down when he realized it was only Shaggy and Scooby looking concerned.

"Oh, it's just you guys," Courage breathed.

"Like, are you okay little pink dude? We like, heard your screaming from the attic," Shaggy asked, in a gentle voice.

"Yeah, sorry guys, I just had a bad dream," Courage replied looking embarrassed, he was hoping he also didn't wake up his friends.

"Rit's okay Rourage," Scooby said with a sympathetic tone.

"Yeah, like we all sometimes have bad dreams," Shaggy added, with a comfort smile.

I wish that was true. Courage thought, however he tried to forget that DAY, it was seared into Courage's memory

Scooby then frowned, "Rid Rustace kick you out?"

Courage dragged his thoughts back to the kitchen, to see Scooby's eyes were looking compassion and concern. He looked down but nodded.

Scooby felt an anger towards the farmer, why can't he just be kind and sweet like Muriel. Why was Muriel married to him in the first place was beyond him.

"Like little pink dude, would you like to sleep with us?" Shaggy asked, in a gentle tone. Courage's eyes looked haunted, he really wanted to know what he dreamed about, but he figured he didn't want to talk about it.

Affection swelled the pink beagle's heart, "Sure, thanks," Courage said, giving a little timid smirk.

Things were looking up, until a bright light shined into the kitchen through the screen on the door, bathing the three of them in a bright light. Courage felt his body ran cold and his eyes widened with terror, he went to the door. The three of them looked out into the yard and a could see a bright circle of light shining down on the ground from something hovering above the farm.

With a sickening feeling of dread, Shaggy stammered, "L-L-Like-what's happening?"

Scooby felt a shiver chill his fur, he shakily replied, "R-RI don't know!"

Courage looked up and his heart nearly stopped. "Guys, look up…" he whimpered.

Scooby and Shaggy both looked and nearly jumped when they saw above the farm was a large metallic craft with many lights shining down on them as they rotated in the sky above.

"Zoinks! It's an alien spaceship!" Shaggy cried out in alarm.

"Rikes!" Scooby exclaimed in fear.

"Okay like don't panic," Shaggy said to the two dogs, trying to stay calm during this situation. "Like, maybe it's friendly like Crystal?"

"What?" Courage asked in shock, what exactly was the cowardly teen getting at?

"Re dated some nice aliens one time," Scooby explained to the pink beagle, remembering the time he, Shaggy and the gang were in New Mexico and met a teenage girl named Crystal and a golden retriever named Amber. He and Shaggy have both fallen in love at first sight, but unexpectedly they're both aliens, but it didn't take way the care that the hungry duo felt about both of them. But sadly, they had to return to their planet and knew that distant relationships never work out.

They were both heartbroken and it had taken them weeks to get over it, but they eventually moved on.

Courage was flabbergasted, who could those two possibly dated aliens? He really needs to keep tract on their adventures. It was then that a hatch opened up on the bottom of the craft and circular platter suspended by cables began descending towards the ground in front of them. Something was resting on top of it. It was hard to see at first, but as it drew closer to the ground it began to look clearer. Shaggy, Scooby and Courage weren't sure at first, but as it reached the ground it became obvious to them what it was. Resting across the top of the platter was a roasted chicken. A roasted chicken of all things.

Shaggy let out a little laugh, "Fellas. It's just a roasted chicken."

Scooby saw it was only a chicken and started to laugh, Shaggy laughed as well. They were so scared over something so silly, they just laughed.

But Courage didn't feel any sense of relief, there was something eerily familiar about that chicken, but he couldn't put his paw on it. "That chicken sorta looks familiar," he said to himself.

Courage's fears were confirmed as the chicken suddenly sat up on top of the platter and turned the stump of it's neck towards them. Shaggy's hair spikes out, as Scooby's fur puffs out and Courage's bulged out of his head at the sight. The chicken pointed at Courage and pulled a plunger out from behind itself. The chicken continued to point at Courage and made a slashing motion across it's neck, as if it intended to do the little dog serious harm.

Scooby and Shaggy screamed, holding each other. Courage's head became ten times larger. But instead of a normal scream, he now screamed like a car horn.

"LIKE, NOT FRIENDLY!" Shaggy shouted in fear.

Courage regained his own composure and quickly locked every single lock on the back door. And for good measure, he grabbed a chair from the breakfast table and wedged it under the door knob to keep the door jammed shut.

"Good job little pink dude," Shaggy complimented.

"Reah, thanks Rourage," Scooby added in gratitude.

Courage nodded, feeling pride, swelling in his chest.

"Courage?" came Muriel's voice from the dining room and a second later, Muriel opened the door and frowned at the three of them.

"Courage? Shaggy? Scooby? What are the three of ya doing?" she asked.

Courage wasted no time and ran over to Muriel, pointing at the door babbling like a madman yet again and hopping around as he did so. He then first morphed into a spiky flying saucer, then he morphed into eggs covered in red splotches and then into a menacing looking red eyed chicken carrying a ray gun. All the while he was humming a climactic sci-fi tune. He concluded by morphing back into himself and hopping around with a whine. Muriel looked between Courage, her nephew and his dog. Shaggy and Scooby stood there, hoping that Muriel would get the message.

Muriel remained silent for a few seconds before looking down at Courage and said, "That's it! No more liver for you."

Muriel then turned her attention to Shaggy and Scooby and said, "And for goodness sake you two, I really wish you wouldn't eat snacks this late. It's not good for you."

"But like, Aunt Muriel, we did see something scary out there! Like, it was horrible. There was a roasted chicken outside, and it got worse! It was like, alive!" Shaggy explained as Scooby acted like the fried chicken they saw outside.

"Reah Ruriel, it was horrible," Scooby added in terror, hoping that Muriel would get the message.

Muriel shook her head and said, "Honestly you three. At this time of night it could be anything scurrying about. I'll just take a little look myself." Muriel then walked over to the door and began unlocking it.

"No Aunt Muriel! Like, please don't go out there!" Shaggy begged, not wanting anything bad happening to his aunt.

"Rhere's something bad out there!" Scooby added, with a whimper, and was desperately trying to get through the elderly woman. Rease just listen to us for once!

But Muriel waved them off and opened the door. She stepped out onto the back step and looked around the back of the house. The bright circle of light was gone, as was the craft that had been floating in the sky above. Shaggy, Scooby and Courage looked from their spot by the door and wondered. Where had that headless fried chicken gone and where was it's ship?

"Well I don't see anything you three. Your imaginations must have been running wild," Muriel said as she looked about.

However before she could turn around to go back inside, a plunger, like the one they had seen earlier, appeared from the side of the house and grabbed Muriel in the back. The sudden surprise made Muriel, Courage, Scooby and Shaggy all scream at the same time as Muriel was yanked backwards and away, leaving one of her slippers behind.

"PUT ME DOWN!" Muriel cried out.

"Aunt Muriel!" Shaggy cried as he rushed to the door with Scooby and Courage close behind him.

"PUT ME DOWN! OH YOU RUDE THING!" Muriel ranted some more as Courage picked up Muriel's slipper.

Shaggy, Scooby and Courage looked off in the direction of the barn. A pink light was glowing from the inside of the barn and they could hear Muriel's screams sounding from inside.

"AHH! COURAGE! SHAGGY! SCOOBY! HELP!" Muriel continued to scream.

This was when the cowardly trio started running for the barn. Muriel continued to scream as they got closer screaming, "OH YOU DIRTY THING YOU! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"

The trio hid behind the door as they tried to catch their breath as they prepared to look inside.

"TAKE THAT THING OFF ME! AHHHH HAAAA! WOULDN'T YOU PREFER TEA INSTEAD?!" Muriel continued.

Shaggy, Scooby and Courage creaked the barn door open just a little. The three looked in and Courage howled at the sight while Shaggy and Scooby screamed.

Sitting inside the barn was the very craft that they had seen hovering above the farm just a few minutes earlier.

Fighting back panic, Shaggy swallowed hard, "I...really don't like...the looks of this."

Scooby whimpered and covered up his face. Seeing that the door to the ship was open, and having no other choice, the cowardly trio decided to cautiously enter it and see if they can get Muriel and get out without much trouble. Unfortunately, as soon as Shaggy, Scooby and Courage stepped inside, they saw the roasted chicken waiting inside for them.

"Huh?" Courage asked confused at he, Shaggy and Scooby saw.

The chicken held a pointing stick and stood next to a screed used for projectors.

"Rh-Rho are you?" Scooby asked, in a stuttered voice.

Instead of answering, the chicken 'turned' its head to the screen where it began to show a slideshow of images. The first image showed Courage with a plunger on his head with the next one having his head pop of like a toy. Then it showed the chicken using Courage's head as his own.

Courage winced at that. He felt sure his heart was pounding hard enough for anyone to hear, "Bu-But why me? Why do you want my head so badly?"

The next set of images showed Courage fighting against the chicken for control of a gun before firing it at him turning the chicken into his current state.

The world dropped out from under Courage as all of his worst fears were confirmed in a single instant, as he now remember what that chicken was. It was the Space Chicken that came and attack the farm months ago, before Shaggy and Scooby came to visit for the summer.

"Rait Rourage, you know this chicken?" Scooby asked, in both from confusion and fear.

Courage didn't answer he was frozen in fear and was dreading of what the chicken was going to do to him and his family, whatever it was it can't be good. The Chicken pointed his stick on the chair and demanded that Courage sit on the chair so he can remove his head.

Terror and revulsion greater than Courage had ever known ripped through him as he looked at the vengeful roasted chicken.

Scooby then felt a growl built up in his throat, he stepped in front of Courage protectively, "Rot gonna happened!" he snarled. Trying to conceal the fear that was trickling like icicles down his spine.

"Like, yeah. You not touching a hand…or um fried feather on this little pink dude, you Fried Chicken from Outer Space!" Shaggy stepped in front of Courage, guarding him from the Chicken. He eyed the roasted chicken, hoping to make him feel intimidated.

The Chicken didn't like this answer and threw the pointer down on the floor in frustration. He then turned to the screen and raised it up to show a tied-up Muriel behind it with a plunger on her head. The message clear that if he did not get Courage than he would take Muriel's head off.

"BOYS! GET HELP!" Muriel screamed.

Hearing a lever being pulled, the cowardly trio looked to the side and saw the Chicken had pulled a lever to start the process of pulling Muriel's head off.

"Zoinks!" Shaggy gasped, his heart began pounding so hard that he thought it would leap out of his jaws.

"Roh no!" Scooby cried out in horror, as he watched the plunger trying to pop Muriel's head off.

Not wanting to risk Muriel's safety even further, the cowardly trio ran out of the spaceship. Once outside, Shaggy quickly looked around and saw something unexpected. A power cord connected to an outlet. Shaggy then ran over to the plug and grabbed it with both of his hands and began trying to pull at it, having a hard time because it was so heavy.

Scooby wrapped his arms around him, while Courage did the same thing to Scooby as they both began to help pull him back while he grasped the plug. After a few attempts, the plug fell from the wall and to the ground, causing all of the lights on the ship to turn off and the barn go dark. The machine that Muriel was hooked up to also powered down to stop.

Back at the house, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage rushed in through the back door and stopped to catch their breaths in the kitchen as they rested against the table.

As soon as Shaggy was able to speak, he looked at Courage and asked, "Like okay little pink dude, who's that crazy roasted chicken and how do you know him!?"

Courage looked up and saw the concern and fearful faces of both of his friends and sighed. He figure they both need an explanation of what's going on.

"Okay well it was a month before you and Scooby came here," he began. "The roasted chicken that you saw used to be a space chicken."

Scooby and Shaggy looked at each other flabbergasted. How could that be?

"The first time he came here," Courage continued. "He invaded our chicken coop and lay two red spotted eggs. Muriel and the farmer thought they're just two ordinary eggs, I tried to warn them. Of course they didn't listen."

Rhy am I not surprise? Scooby thought sarcastically. But didn't say anything as he let Courage continue his story.

"I manage to defeat the chicken with his laser gun, and he turned into the roasted chicken you saw tonight."

Scooby and Shaggy both looked on in horror, so that's explains why the roasted chicken wants Courage's head so badly. He wanted revenge of the pink beagle for cooking him into a delicious looking meal.

"Rut, what about the eggs?" Scooby asked.

Courage winced, as he looked away but said in a fearful voice, "Eustace have manage to eat the eggs but somehow turned into a crazy chicken and almost attack Muriel who thankfully didn't eat those eggs herself. I manage to stop him with the chicken's laser gun."

"But like, how did he get turned back to normal?" Shaggy asked.

Courage thought about that for a moment and think, "You know, I have no idea."

Shaggy and Scooby both stiffened, every limb locked in terror, they now knew what they're up against. The Fried Chicken from outer space has come backed to get revenge on the pink beagle.

"Rourage, we need you to run upstairs and try to wake up Rustace. Re're gonna to try to call the police or anyone else who can help us," Scooby said.

"Okay," Courage nodded, as he ran out of the kitchen and to the stairs.

Shaggy took the time to go to the phone and attempt to dial for help. But as he did so, he noticed that there was no dial tone coming from the phone. He pressed down on the receiver multiple times to try test it and sure enough, there was no tone at all. This made Shaggy's face turned pale, knowing what happened.

"Raggy, what's wrong?" Scooby asked, getting worried.

"Like, the phone's not working," Shaggy replied, getting a dreadful feeling.

Shaggy and Scooby both went over to one of the side windows and looked out, only to frozen with horror, as they both see that the phone line had been cut. The chicken must have thought ahead and disabled the line after it first arrived. Either way, there was no calling for help now.

"Like, th-the Fried Chicken from Outer Space, cut off the power," Shaggy said, trembling.

"Ruh-Roh," Scooby whimpered, this was not good.

Courage barged into the bedroom, and woke up Eustace who started rambling questions. Courage ignored his questions and started babbling to him about the space chicken from outside. He morphed in to a three-headed space chicken, who was holding a screaming Muriel. He then morphed back into his self and added a whimpered to his explanation.

Eustace who was not happy to be woken up in middle of the night by Courage again sneered, "Get away from me. Stupid dog." He then laid his head down and try to get back to sleep.

Figures. Courage thought in dismay, he should of expect that Eustace wasn't going to listen to him, he looked at Muriel slipper and sigh. I know I'm not gonna like this. But he was desperate to get the help he needed. Without a moment to lose he hit Eustace in the face with Muriel's slipper.

"Ow!" Eustace cried out in pain, "You rotten dog."

Courage than raced out the bedroom zoomed downstairs rushed out into the living room, with Eustace behind him. Shaggy and Scooby were standing by the kitchen phone when the kitchen door burst open and Courage ran through, screaming and being followed closely by Eustace giving chase.

"Come on Scoob!" Shaggy said, as he and Scooby followed quickly behind them. They ran all the way to the barn, Eustace demanding that Courage get back to him. But as Shaggy and Scooby looked back at the barn, they both could see the pink glow from earlier was back indicating that the Chicken inside had powered his ship back up. And neither Courage or Eustace seem to have taken notice.

Roh-no, I hope we're not too late. Scooby thought, in desperation.

"I'll strangle you," Eustace threatened.

Courage ran into the barn, closely pursued by Eustace. The pink beagle ran onto the ramp leading up to the ship. Courage was about to try and warn Eustace but quickly ducked when he lunged at him. The cowardly trio went inside and saw that the chicken was now confronting Eustace who was rubbing his head from hitting it against wall.

"OH! OH!" Muriel screamed catching their attention. The Chicken had apparently put the cord back in and started the process of taking Muriel's head off.

"Like, not again!" Shaggy cried.

"Come on!" Courage said to his friends, "We gotta cut off the power!"

Shaggy, Scooby and Courage ran from the entrance from the ship and back to where the three had unplugged the ship earlier. Just as they've had expected, it was plugged back in. Courage wasted no time because as soon as he saw the plug in, he pulled out a giant pair of clippers and then cut the cord with them, powering down the ship completely once again.

They ran from the plug and were just about to run into the ship, when the metal door suddenly closed in front of them with Courage running right into it.

"Hey! What are you going to do with that thing?" came Eustace's voice from inside. "Hey! Oww!"

Courage began to pound at the door with his fists, Shaggy and Scooby joined with him in trying to get it open. Meantime, with terror all they could do was listen to Eustace's pained grunts and howls as their efforts yielded no results. In an act of desperation, Courage whipped out an blowtorch and face shield, and began to cut the metal of the door and he managed to get the door open... right as Eustace let out one last pained howl.

Right as the door opened, the three felt relief as soon as Eustace's face appeared in the doorway.

"Yeah!" Courage yelped as he lifted his face shield.

"Roh, thank goodness," Scooby said as he wiped the sweat from his brow.

"Like, you can say that again, dudes," Shaggy agreed, also relieved that his uncle was okay.

Their relief however was short lived as the rest of his form stepped into view, revealing that his head was no longer on his own body. But rather it was now on the roasted Chicken's body instead.

"ZOINKS!" Shaggy screamed out, his hair spiking out.

"RIKES!" Scooby shrieked, with wide eyes at the sight.

Courage's eyes were practically bugging out at the sight as well.

The Chicken stared at the three terrified friends and began to growl at them like a feral animal.

"Umm," Courage began to say, "Goodbye!" he, then pointed the blowtorch at the ground where the Chicken stood and blasted the spot, causing the Chicken's rear to catch fire.

It screamed with a howl that sounded just like Eustace's and landed in a nearby barrel of water, moaning in relief as it cooled the heat from the flames. Shaggy, Scooby and Courage took this opportunity to run into the ship to grab Muriel, Courage throwing the blowtorch and face shield aside.

Muriel was fast asleep again and Courage began shaking her. "Muriel! Muriel! Wake up! Wake up!"

Shaggy and Scooby even tried waking her up after grabbing her shoulders and shaking her slightly harder.

"AUNT MURIEL! LIKE, THIS NOT THE TIME TO BE NAPPING!" Shaggy shouted, hopping to wake up his aunt.

"RHERE'S A SPACE FRIED CHICKEN AFTER US!" Scooby added, but their efforts did not help.

So instead, Courage slipped Muriel's slipper back onto her foot and started carrying her out, Shaggy detaching the plunger from Muriel's head in the process. Shaggy, Scooby and Courage went to the door, but before they could get out, the Chicken reappeared in the doorway, carrying a different plunger and ready to go after them again. Courage howled as the Chicken appeared.

"LIKE, RUN GUYS!" Shaggy screamed at the top of his lungs.

Scooby kicking the Chicken back and forcing him to tumble down the ramp again. Instead of trying the main door to the craft again, Courage ran for a ladder in the center of the room and climbed up it, carrying Muriel with only one hand in the process. Shaggy and Scooby joined him at the ladder and Courage climbing up the ladder one handed. Shaggy and Scooby quickly climbed up the ladder behind him and in short order, they reached the top of the ladder and Courage threw open a hatch at the top. He tossed Muriel onto the roof of the vessel and then reached down and threw Shaggy and Scooby onto the roof as well, surprising them.

From there, they climbed to the rafters at the top of the barn and out the window leading to the roof of the barn. Courage set Muriel out onto the barn before he, Shaggy and Scooby climbed out as well. As soon as they were all out, Courage, Scooby and Shaggy began scanning the rooftop, looking for a way to get to safety.

Scooby swapped glances with Courage, looking around to get outta here. They were in luck, there was a wire up head. "Ruys look! RA wire!" Scooby pointed out.

Shaggy and Courage looked where Scooby was pointed at and saw a wire that ran from the roof of the barn and over to the house. Since they were pressed for time, Courage hoisted Shaggy, Scooby and Muriel over his head and started walking over to the wire.

Shaggy let out a yelp of surprise and said, "Like, little pink dude, you don't need to carry us. Me and Scoob can walk on our own."

But he and Scooby looked back at the window, and their hearts dropped, as they both saw the Chicken sticking his head out the window.

"Ron second thought, carry us!" Scooby said, as he and Shaggy changed their minds.

Courage ran across the wire, a difficult feat considering that he was carrying two people and a big dog above his head and looked back to see that the Chicken was following them across the wire and was keeping pace with them. Courage howled in fright and began running faster.

Shaggy turned back and to his horror, the Chicken was catching up to them, "Like, he's getting closer!"

In the meantime, Muriel began to stir in her sleep and as she lifted her head she said, "What a terrible dream. Shaggy and Scooby dears, did you two have bad dreams as well?"

Shaggy was about to answer when Muriel said, "I think I'll have a cup of tea."

"The things I do for love," Courage said as he poured some tea in a cup and gave it to Muriel.

Scooby looked back to see the Chicken was still in pursuit on the wire, making him whimpered in fear.

Courage whined and tripped as Muriel's slipper fell from her feet again, causing her bounce across the wire as Courage lost his grip on her. Shaggy and Scooby also both slipped from Courage's grip, The next few seconds were in slow motion to Scooby and Shaggy, then Shaggy managed to grab the wire and hang onto it for dear life, while Scooby held onto his owner's legs for dear life as well.

Shaggy did watch his aunt as she miraculously bounced along the wire and came to a stop still sitting on the thing.

"It's awfully windy tonight," Muriel said as she fixed her hair before taking another sip from her tea.

Courage almost had a heart attack as he watch his family almost bouncing off the wire, but was relieved when both of his friends were hanging on, and Muriel sitting on the wire. "Hold on guys. Here I come," Courage yelled out, as he reached down and pulled Scooby and Shaggy up and set the both of them on his back as he began to crawl along the wire, making his way towards Muriel.

But just as they got to her, Muriel fell over, Courage give out a scream, and Muriel would have fallen to the ground if Courage hadn't grabbed onto the wire with a free hand and grabbed her with his other hand, nearly sending him, Shaggy and Scooby falling to the ground as well. Shaggy and Scooby both shrieked as they nearly tumbled, with Scooby held onto Courage tightly, and Shaggy holding onto Scooby as well.

"Hold on!" Courage cried out to a delirious Muriel and his two frightened friends, gritting his teeth.

As he held on, Muriel's slipper suddenly smacked Courage on the head as it was thrown at him from above, making the pink beagle cry out in pain. Courage, Scooby and Shaggy looked up to see the Chicken standing right above them, glaring down at them. He then began to stomp on Courage's fingers, trying to get him to let go of the wire. Shaggy, Scooby and Courage let out terrified screams as the Chicken continued its evil work and then Courage began crying out in pain.

This went on for several moments, the Chicken smiling in sadistic glee as Courage's fingers began to come loose. However this was short lived as the Chicken got a better look at it's surroundings. The wire was no longer high up in the air, but rather the portion they were on was now hanging low to the ground instead. By the time it realized this, it was too late. Courage, Muriel, Shaggy and Scooby were now standing safely on the ground and it stared at them in surprise.

"Rye, bye," Scooby smugly said, as he grinned mischievous.

Courage let go of the wire, sending the Chicken flying and screaming into the air. The Chicken flew all the way back to the barn and it crashed through the roof as it landed.

"Yay!" Courage shouted in joy, he was relieved that the Chicken maybe gone, while Muriel started to shake her tea cup to see if there was anything left in it. She was still in a daze.

"Way a go little pink dude," Shaggy congratulated.

"Ri-five," Scooby said, as he hive-five Courage.

Their celebration was short lived however, as the pink glow returned and the sound of machinery starting up was heard from the barn. This was followed by the barn exploding into splinters and the vessel rising up into the dark sky.

All four of them screamed at the sight as the vessel loomed closer and then hovered directly over them. The hatch on the bottom of the ship opened up and out came a mechanical arm that was carrying the largest plunger that any of them had ever seen. Courage lifted Muriel, Shaggy and Scooby over his head again and began to run away from the farm, dropping Muriel's slipper again as the plunger came down on the spot that they had been standing.

Courage ran to the wheelbarrow, putting Muriel inside and then setting Shaggy on top of her and Scooby on top of his owner, and began running as fast as his little legs would allow him, which was surprisingly fast. But as fast as he ran, the alien vessel was faster and it began plunging the ground behind them as it got closer and closer. Then it loomed over them and then hit ground directly behind them, forcing Courage to lose his grip on the wheelbarrow and sending Muriel, Shaggy and Scooby tumbling out.

Thankfully he had gotten them close to a river and set the three of them on a raft that was resting on the shore for some reason. He got them out onto the river and began directing the raft down the river. But they could only go as fast as the current would allow, so it was easy for the alien craft to catch up with them and hit the raft, sending them back to shore.

Once again, luck proved to be on their side as Courage then found a motorcycle near where they landed along with some helmets. He placed everyone on the motorcycle, put the helmets on their heads and began driving the bike as fast as he could away from the river. But unfortunately, Muriel's other slipper came loose and got caught in the wheel of the motorcycle.

"Like Aunt Muriel, you really gotta get new slippers," Shaggy commented, before Courage lost control of the bike and it crashing near a round lit up pad.

Courage landed on the pad, "Guys?" he asked in concerned. But to his relief, he saw that neither Muriel, Shaggy nor Scooby were harmed in the crash. Courage shook his head clear and he looked over to see Muriel pouring herself another cup of tea and Shaggy and Scooby sitting right next to her, trying to clear their dazes from the crash.

"Fancy some tea you two?" Muriel asked the both of them.

Courage didn't answer, but instead looked at the sign above the three of them.

'WARNING! ROCKET BASE! KEEP OFF!'

Courage looked down at the lit up pad he was lying on and panicked a little when he realized where he was standing. "Oh no!" he gasped.

Scooby was able to clear his head and looked up at the sky and froze he gasped, his heart pounding as he saw the spaceship above Courage ready to strike the poor defenseless dog.

"ROURAGE, LOOK OUT!" Scooby screamed out in a alarm.

Courage heard Scooby's warning and looked up and his heart nearly stopped as he saw the Chicken in the window as it pulled the lever, bringing the plunger down towards him again. He gasped and without hesitation, Courage screamed and jumped clear of the plunger as it hit the pad.

"RI got you Rourage!" Scooby cried out, as he was able to caught Courage into his arms.

As the Chicken pulled the plunger back up, it took the pad up with it. The four sat in a safe spot and watched as a rocket launched right out of the hole where the pad once stood and flew up towards the alien vessel. They looked up to see that the main door to the craft was open and that the Chicken was standing right in the doorway, ready to jump out. But before he could, the rocket made contact with the vessel, blowing it to pieces in a fantastic light show that looked grander than anything that they had ever seen on the Fourth of July. There was zero chance that the Chicken could have gotten away from that.

"Lovely fireworks, eh you three?" Muriel said as they watched the display.

"Reah," Scooby agreed, as he then looked down on Courage in his arms. "Rourage are you alright?"

"Yeah I'm fine, just a little shaken," Courage confirmed, "Thanks Scooby." He then give a hugged to the Great Dane, which he chuckled in response.

Not long after, the four were back at the house just sitting at the porch. Courage was lying on the porch, feeling both relieved and content, while Scooby was sitting next to him, making sure nothing else happens to him tonight. Muriel standing near Courage, looking over Shaggy's arms, making sure that he hadn't hurt himself during the night's events.

"Like, Aunt Muriel, I'm okay. Just a little shaken up is all," Shaggy said in exasperation as Muriel let go of his arm.

"I just want to be sure dear. Looks like nothing's bruised or broken," Muriel said.

Muriel sat down on the front steps of the porch and set Courage down on her lap as Scooby and Shaggy sat next to them. The four of them looked out over the yard as the night went on.

Then Muriel pointed at something out in the yard and said, "Oh, there's Eustace with my slipper."

Shaggy, Scooby and Courage looked out and, to their horror, they did indeed see Eustace approaching the farmhouse with Muriel's slipper in his hand. Only now, he was walking around WITHOUT HIS HEAD much to Shaggy, Scooby and Courage's horror.

All Courage, Scooby and Shaggy could do, was scream at the sight.

Courage then added, "This still shouldn't happen to a dog."
