It was a beautiful sunny day, Muriel was outside watering some plants she had planted earlier in the week, Eustace was working on his truck, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage were inside the house having snacks, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage came over to Muriel with the mail in Courage's mouth.
"Oh, boys, you got the mail," Muriel said as she stopped watering the flowers, which already made her a better farmer than Eustace.
"Like, anything interesting Aunt Muriel?" Shaggy prompted as she opened up the mail which was only one letter.
"Yes, "It's an offer for a timeshare, all we have to do is take a little trip," Muriel answered happily.
"Blah, blah, blah! Count me out, I ain't going on no trip," Eustace bitterly said, as he continued to work on his truck.
"Well... I do love trips," Courage said, thoughtfully.
"Re too, especially when we get a break from all the spooky stuff every now and then!" Scooby added, happily.
"Like, a vacation sure does sound nice. So, where exactly are we taking a trip to, Aunt Muriel? The beach?" Shaggy jumped in, excitedly.
"RA hotel?" Scooby asked, in anticipation.
"The county fair?" Courage added, in excitement.
"Oh, it's even better, boys, we're all taking a trip to..." Muriel began.
Apparently, the trip the family were taking was not other than space, as their rocket was going miles away from the earth. The family were fast asleep in the pods, until a robot rooster try to wake them up.
"Okay, nap time is over, you twits," the voice on the intercom said waking the family up before opening up the pods they're sleeping in, stretching Muriel, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage hopped down from the pods.
"Ah, now isn't this relaxing?" Muriel asked, as she stretched out.
"Like, I don't know, Aunt Muriel, when we heard that we were all going on a trip, we didn't think it would mean traveling through space inside a rocket ship," Shaggy pointed it out.
"Reah. Ro offense, but this seems kinda unusual, even for a family like us," Scooby voiced out his opinion.
"Not to mention, ugh... these space suits feel a little bit uncomfortable," Courage complained, as he scratched himself, this suit of his would take some getting use too.
"Come now, boys, a little trip to the stars never hurt anybody. Besides, I've always wanted to see the Milky Way," Muriel said, trying to convince the cowardly trio, to give this trip a chance.
"Milky Way? What's that, a place filled with tons of milk?" Shaggy piped in.
"Uh... not that kind of Milky Way, Shag," Courage frowned, shutting down Shaggy's naive suggestion.
Then the trio heard a crash, they turned and saw Eustace on the floor.
"Hey, what did I do?" Eustace asked confused, wide awake now.
Shaggy, Scooby and Courage saw that his pod moved meaning that the computer shook the pod to get him to wake up, the trio couldn't help, but laugh at this a little.
The family headed towards the front part of the rocket where the main computer was, all the while Eustace grumbled at having to do this without his paper, doing what you may ask? Well, to go and try out a new experimental rocket that uses no dust and ride it into space, just your typical trip one must take to get a timeshare of your choice. After a solid ten minutes, the family reached the front of the rocket where Eustace immediately got in the chair and started pressing buttons randomly.
"Darn this rocket, can't get any picture on the TV," Eustace complained as he started slamming the buttons, which caused a hologram to appear.
"The following information is classified, not to mention vital, to the security of the human and faunus race, thank you," the voice exclaimed before going eerily calm at the end.
"Blah, blah, blah," Eustace complained.
"I think the man with the shiny buttons has something important to tell us," Muriel said pointing to the general.
Seeing that he now had the floor and their attention, the man cleared his throat and began to talk, only for everyone to grow confused when the general only spoke actual gibberish and nobody could understand him, a screen even appeared behind the general in many different languages that none of them knew either. Shaggy, Scooby and Courage looked at one another with crinkled brows, this was all gibberish to them.
"Did you guys catch any of that?" Courage asked, in confusion, wrinkling his brow.
"Uh-uh," Shaggy response, as he shrugged his shoulders, not getting this answer neither.
"Rou got me," Scooby added, with a confused frown.
And as if to throw salt on the wounds, at the very end, the general said in perfect clear English, "And Godspeed!"
"Huh?" Courage asked, beyond confused at the directions the general gave them.
"Oh, my," Muriel said, confused as well.
"How do you change the channel on this thing?" Eustace spoke up not understanding anything that just happened.
"Don't you dolts speak English? The sun is about to go out, you have to fix it! Everything you need is in that briefcase over there," the computer, rather rudely answer.
"Roh, great. Rust when we're about to have what was supposed to be a simple nice vacation away from home, HE comes along," Scooby groaned.
"Seems like a lot of trouble to go through for a timeshare," Muriel said sounding worried and surprised.
"That's how they get ya, gotta read the fine print," Eustace said bitterly as if he knew from the beginning this exact thing was going to happen.
"I never thought I say this, but, like, Uncle Eustace is right, this feels more like a task than a relaxing vacation," Shaggy spoke up.
"If you don't fix the sun, it'll glow bright red and then it goes out," the computer finished.
Shaggy, Scooby and Courage let out of simultaneously gasps of surprise and fear and having horrified expressions on their faces.
"Big deal," Eustace said, not realizing what's happening.
"Zoinks! Like, I don't wanna live without sunlight," Shaggy quaked in horror.
"Re either," Scooby whimpered, worriedly.
"Ditto," Courage said, feeling nervous.
"Well, if someone is going to fix the sun, it might as well be us, I suppose," Muriel said now wanting to help.
"Well you just shut up," Eustace grumbled to himself.
"So, do get the sun fixed before the clock hits zero, you twits," the computer said before going silent.
Shaggy, Scooby and Courage were now by themselves in the main control area, with Courage trying to figure out more with the mission.
"No, no, you space monkey, press 'SHIFT' and then 'ENTER,'" he computer said sounding as if he had something planned.
"Alright," Courage answered as he followed the command, only for the speaker to open up with a mechanical arm quickly coming out with a pie and smashing it against Courage's face.
"I get them with that every time," the computer said laughing as the arm went back to where it was.
"Like, that was rude!" Shaggy protested.
"Reah, really rude," Scooby added, with a growl, though he did eat a piece to find out that it was a strawberry pie.
Which caused Courage to glare at him.
"Rhat? Rit's good," Scooby shrugged, cluelessly.
Shaggy then picked up Courage and sat in the chair to try for himself.
"Okay, rocket boy," the computer began sounding mischievously. "Double click the icon that looks like a little doggy."
"Like, that sounds easy enough," Shaggy shrugged doing so, only to feel like an idiot when tar hit him, Scooby and Courage from above followed by feathers falling on them.
"Ha! You three are gullible," the computer taunted.
How with embarrassment, Scooby let out a low growl, that computer could at least act guilty! Rage chocked him. RI'll teach him! "Rokay, let's see how you like it," he snapped, as he he pressed one more button.
Only to instantly regret it when two giant fists came flying from the speaker and hit Shaggy, Scooby and Courage square in the face, the force stunning them a bit which caused the trio to fall to the ground.
"Man... and I thought he was harder to deal with back home," Shaggy groaned, as he rubbed his throbbing head. Crazy old computer...
The cowardly trio made their way to the dining room and saw Muriel and Eustace already sitting down, on the table there was some plates for each of them, sitting down, the three saw that on the plate was a pink tube.
"Lousy stinking tube food," Eustace complained before eating some of the paste. "Hey not bad, this one tastes just like turkey."
"Like, this one tastes like pepperoni pizza, though it could use a little bit more oregano if you ask me," Shaggy said, as he ate some of his tube food.
"Rand this one tastes like Scooby Snacks, but in liquid form!" Scooby added, as he licked his lips, from the tube he ate, the sweet taste coating his tongue.
Courage was about to say something, but stopped when Muriel started seeming woozy, Muriel moaned trialing off as she seemed to lose focus.
"Are you okay Muriel?" Courage asked.
"Birds!" Muriel said suddenly instead.
Shaggy wrinkled his brow, and tried to understand what Muriel was saying, "Birds? Like, I don't see any birds flying around in our ship."
"Ah, you're saying things, more turkey in a tube," Eustace dismissed.
"HALIFAX! Wicky, wicky, wicky! Mambo time," Muriel yelled seeming to have lost it.
Shaggy, Scooby and Courage's eyes widened watching this unbelievable scene, Muriel's hair suddenly went into her head and come back out a as an extremely long red beard.
"What's... huh?" Eustace asked confused.
Courage gasped when he saw this, his mouth hanging open in shock.
Muriel screamed while flailing her arms and legs before falling out of her chair after picking up the tube of food.
"Hey, what you do that for?" Eustace asked getting annoyed.
"I don't know," Muriel said in a childlike voice before reaching and pulling on Eustace's ear.
"Muriel, hear what I say?" Eustace asked before screaming in pain as Muriel pulled and stretched his ear to ridiculous lengths, she then pulled his nose and stretched his nose that same way she did to his ears. And finally pulled out a nose hair from him.
"Something weird is happening to Muriel or my name isn't Neil Armstrong... and it's not," Courage shuddered, cowering behind Scooby.
"Uh, Aunt Muriel, like, are you okay?" Shaggy asked concerned, getting worried and in sudden bewilderment.
"Reah, you're scaring us over here," Scooby whined, trying to hide his steadily growing fear with little avail.
Eustace screamed again when Muriel ignored Scooby and jumped onto Eustace's shoulder and started to play drums on his head, then she grabbed Eustace's head and somehow pulled him out of his chair and slammed him onto the table.
"Zoinks! Like, when did you started working out, Aunt Muriel?!" Shaggy asked with concern, huddling with Scooby and Courage.
Muriel laughed ignoring what her nephew said and somehow started inflating her space suit to an enormous size before shrinking down and repeating it a few more times.
Muriel moved to the table and took a giant bite out of the table and swallowed the piece she broke off.
"Come on, come on, set it off!" Muriel challenged as if they were in a boxing match.
Shaggy, Scooby, Courage and Eustace all screamed in terror.
"I think I could use a wee nap," Muriel said happily as if nothing just happened, she then walked down the hall. But instead of walking on the floor like everyone else, she walked on the ceiling.
Shaggy, Scooby and Courage all exchanged stunned glances upon watching Muriel walking up on the ceiling.
"Rhat just happened?!" Scooby asked, completely bewildered, he was scared to death and held onto a terrified Shaggy.
"I'm not sure if I want to find out!" Courage exclaimed, staring off into the hallway in fear.
The cowardly trio made their way to the computer room, getting there, Courage sat down in the chair and began typing into the console.
"Muriel is not acting right and we want to know what is wrong with her," Courage answered as he typed in what he and his friends saw.
"Of course, Muriel is acting weird, she's locked in a tin can with you isn't she," the computer taunted before a seltzer spray bottle quickly came out and sprayed the trio three times before it went back inside the console.
"Like, we're serious!" Shaggy protested in an urgent voice, having no patience for the computer.
"Romething is really wrong with Ruirel!" Scooby added, with a growl and a whine.
"You all are no fun, can't take a joke can you? Okay, okay. I know exactly what's wrong with Muriel and how you can save her and the sun from going out all at once," the computer said annoyed.
"Well then, what is it? What do we do?" Courage asked impatiently as he saw that they're getting close to the sun.
"All you have to do is…" the computer began to answer but trailed off a bit and could no longer understand him as his speech became garbled, static then came flying from the console with red, blue and yellow lights coming from the panel above them.
"What!? What!?" Shaggy panicked while covering himself from the sudden flashing lights.
Courage's screaming got Shaggy and Scooby's attention, he then pointed to the clock and they saw that they had less than half an hour before the sun would go out.
"Zoinks! The computer is like, dead and we have no control!" Shaggy screamed them as he tried to get a response form the console but nothing happened.
"What do we do? What do we do?" Courage asked panicking.
"Raybe, you Rourage can crawled through the through the panel and figure out what's wrong," Scooby suggested, a sudden idea hitting him.
"Okay," Courage oblige, knowing some plan was better than nothing. He crawled through the panel, and followed the wires to see what's wrong.
When Courage got through the panels, his eyes met a starling site he gasped in fear, as he saw Muriel, now with a green color face, chewing up the wires. He crawled back into the panel and back to the control area, with Shaggy and Scooby.
"Guys, Muriel chewed up the wires!" Courage exclaimed anxiously.
"Ruh-oh!" Scooby quaked, as he began to panic.
"We gotta stop her!" Shaggy shouted, his nerves getting the better of him, as he, Scooby and Courage headed down to Muriel's room.
But the cowardly trio did not need to go that far as after a few turns, the three found Muriel, and gasped with shock when they saw her chewing through the tube that gave oxygen into Eustace spacesuit. He was outside trying to retrieve his hat that he lost when he used the bathroom when the hat fell into the toilet.
Muriel laughed in a different voice entirely.
"MURIEL! STOP!" Courage yelled in shock.
Shaggy, Scooby and Courage heard Eustace scream into the radio as they saw him through the window drift through space and away from the ship.
"Aunt Muriel, like, what has gotten into you?!" Shaggy asked, becoming very anxious.
"Wouldn't you like to know, human!" a different voice came out of Muriel.
"Rikes! Rou're not Ruriel!" Scooby shrieked out.
"Who are you?!" Courage gasped.
"Who am I, you ask? My name is Mustafa al Bacterius, I am inside the brain of Muriel. I have come a great distance to sabotage your mission!" the alien inside Muriel announced.
"Rabotage our misson?! Rhat are you talking about?!" Scooby questioned, feeling a stab of fear.
"You humans are not satisfied messing with your own planet, you feel the need to mess with space also!" the alien replied, with a hiss.
"Mess with- you're crazy! We only traveled through space to fix the Sun because it's about to go out at any second!" Courage screeched out, his heart thumbing faster.
"Is that so? Well, if the sun wants to fizzle, let it. We like it dark," the alien answered.
"Well, we don't, space dude! Like, if we don't have any sunlight on our planet, then we won't be able to see where we're going!" Shaggy said defiantly.
"Rexactly! Rus, without warmth, we would all freeze to death!" Scooby added just as boldly.
"So, get a flashlight or some D cells or wear a sweater, 'cause it's lights out, space clowns!" the alien argued.
Courage whined before lunging at Muriel's head and looming inside her ear, and to his shock and disgust he saw the tiny alien, laugh himself instead of through Muriel. He tried to get the little alien out of Muriel's ear before the alien flung Courage off of him, and Muriel to reach and turn the knob next to them which controlled the gravity.
"Whoa!/Rhoa!" Scooby, Shaggy and Courage shout in unsion when they all suddenly started floating due to the gravity being turned off.
"Gotcha," the alien said as he kicked Courage and Scooby which caused her to release Muriel.
They both grunted as they hit the wall behind them, but they swiftly managed to bounced off the wall and float back towards Muriel, but alien seemed ready for this but got surprised when Shaggy jumped on her back.
"Hey, let go!" the alien demanded as he reach the cowardly teen to toss him off.
Courage he floated to Muriel's head and placed a plunger on her head and started to try and use it to get the alien out, and somehow pulled to her which sent him flying away with the plunger, and Muriel was sent flying into the head first toilet that was across the hall.
The trio went over to Muriel, pulled her out of the toilet, and her hair got somehow a little green.
"Oh, my! Courage, Shaggy, Scooby, what's going on? Why are we in the bathroom and why does my wee head feel funny?" Muriel asked, as she was now back to normal.
"Muriel!" Courage exclaimed, happy and grateful that his owner was back to normal.
"You're back to normal!" Shaggy added, also super grateful that his aunt is okay.
"Reah... well, mostly," Scooby pointed out, as he noticed her green hair.
"Scooby!" Shaggy and Courage yelled in unison, as they glared at him.
"Rorry," Scooby sheepishly grin and cringed.
The family nearly fell over when the ship landed on the sun followed by getting extremely hot really quickly.
"Like, I think landed," Shaggy surmised after getting his balance back.
Courage grabbed the case, as he, Shaggy and Scooby ran out of the rocket.
"Rhere do we go to?" Scooby urged, looking around.
"Over there!" Courage shouted, pointing in his direction.
Looking to where he was pointing, Shaggy and Scooby saw steps leading into the core of the sun, getting there, the trio quickly went down the steps and through the long narrow hallway, after a few minutes, the three reached the core of the sun.
"Like, hurry!" Shaggy shouted with panic, as he opened the suitcase and grabbed the bulb while Scooby removed the bulb that need to be replaced.
Courage whimpered with anxiety when Scooby removed the bulb and it became pitch black instantly, Courage then plugged the new bulb in which made the sun light up brightly again.
"Res! Re did it!" Scooby shouted with joy.
"Now, let's go back to the Muriel," Courage told his friends, as he picked up the suitcase.
Shaggy, Scooby and Courage raced back to the surface of the sun, getting there, the three saw Muriel bouncing up and down because the sun was burning her feet.
"How are we ever going to get out of here?" Muriel asked.
At that moment, the family heard Eustace laughing, looking up, they all saw him riding a giant asteroid back to earth.
"Hang on," Courage shouted as he press a button on his suit which launched a grappling hook from the glove which managed to hook onto the passing asteroid.
The family then were lifted off the sun and were heading home, once they no longer felt the intense heat, the family began to pull themselves onto the asteroid.
"Phew! Like, that was close! One more minute and we would've been burned to ashes!" Shaggy cried with relief, no longer feeling the heat in his feet.
"Rank goodness! Ror once, Rustace actually did something right for a change!" Scooby gasped, as he looked up seeing Eustace having a good time.
"Boys, did you all fixed the Sun!?" Muriel asked.
"We sure did!" Courage replied, with a nod and a grin.
"Like, it was nothing really, Aunt Muriel. To be honest, it was just like changing a lightbulb," Shaggy, putting it in.
"Riterally!" Scooby added, with a giggle.
"Good boys!" Muriel said proudly, as the family got themselves comfy for the ride home.
Once the family got back, they got their vacation, and it was on mars of all things.
"Who'd thought the timeshare would be on mars? Nice of the General to send us our house though," Muriel said, as the family sat down on the blanket to enjoy their picnic.
"Eh, this ain't exactly like the beach, but at least it's better than living on the sun, that's for sure," Shaggy voiced his opinion.
"And the best part is, we won't have to deal with that mind-controlling worm now that he's been flushed into space," Courage said, with a contended sigh, as he lay on the ground in relaxation.
"Birds!" Eustace suddenly shouted getting the family's attention.
"Oh, my," Muriel said with worry, as the trio hid behind the old woman.
"Halifax! Wicky, wicky, wicky," Eustace shouted deranged before getting serious. "I have not yet begun to fight."
"Rere we go again..." Scooby muttered under his breath, as now the family has to deal with this again.
"Man, like, we just really can't get a break today, can we?" Shaggy fumed, with a groan.
"Welcome to my life," Courage retorted, in a deadpan voice.
