It was late a night, Courage was trying to get some sleep, but Muriel's loud snoring was keeping him awake. The tired pink beagle pulled his eyes lashes in frustration, and pull the covers of the bed, how Eustace was sleeping through this was beyond him.

Courage give out a groan of frustration, the pink beagle took out two giant plugs and put them inside his ears. He did that so he did not have to hear the loud snoring of his owner.

Hopefully, this would help. He thought. He closed his eyes and tried to go back to sleep.

After a few minutes, it didn't work, Courage still heard the snoring. He opened his eyes and sat up in the bed. I gotta get some sleep. He thought desperately.

Courage put a fishbowl over his head, only for Muriel's loud snoring to break it a second later.

That's it! I'm sleeping with Shaggy and Scooby tonight. Courage thought, as he got off the bed. Sure Shaggy and Scooby snore too, but not as loud as Muriel, and plus it was better sleeping with them, than with Muriel.

As Courage walked up to the door, and was about to opened it and leave, He felt a terrible chill as he heard the window opened. Feeling fresh fear welling up inside him, he turned around, and saw a WIZARD of some sort, floating around the couple's bed.

Courage give out, a scream of terror as he exploded from fright, LITERALLY. Only his mouth remains, his mouth back away from the door in terror.

Terror seized the cowardly pink beagle, as as he watched the wizard was singing, some weird spell and some sort of magic dust came out of Muriel's EYES. The wizard than put some on his eyes, before yawning and he just left the room. What did he just do to her!?

Suddenly, Muriel stood up from her slumber, "Oh my, I can't sleep."

Courage ran over to the bed, climb it and inspect Muriel, to make sure, nothing weird or dangerous things happened to her.

"Courage, what are you doing dog?" Muriel asked, as she put her dog down off of her.

"There was this strange guy, and he got some sort of sand from you," Courage explained, as he transformed into a creepy version of the wizard and transformed into his owner.

Muriel just simply said, "A cup of tea would be lovely."

"So let me get this straight, like last night, you saw a strange dude came over to my aunt and uncle's room and stole some sort of magic sand?" Shaggy asked, the sound of Courage's anxious tone worried him.

After waking up, Courage quickly brought Shaggy and Scooby up to speed on what happened. Hearing this, they both became concerned for Muriel, the family were all now at the kitchen table, just finishing breakfast.

"Yeah, this weird guy just came in, stole some strange sand from Muriel's eyes and left," Courage explained.

Scooby swallowed hard, "Row, that is strange."

Shaggy looked at Courage, "Like, what do you think, that weird dude want?"

Courage shivered, "I don't know Shaggy. But, whatever it is, it can't be good."

"I can't understand it, I usually sleep so well," Muriel answered, confused.

"Like, we all have these nights Aunt Muriel," Shaggy encouraged, as he placed a hand on her shoulder.

The cowardly pink beagle shuddered again, "Yeah, but not whatever happened last night."

"Don't worry Courage, tonight I'll have a good night's sleep," Muriel assured him.

Alarm coursed through Courage. I just hope it's just a bad night and that's it.

Later that night, Muriel fluffed up her pillow, before laying down on her side of the bed.

"Ah, this is going to be a goodnight's sleep, I can feel it," Muriel said as she fluffed her pillow.

"I hope so," Courage frowned anxiously, not sure if Muriel is gonna sleep well tonight.

Unfortunately, despite trying to stay awake until Muriel fell asleep, Courage fell asleep after about two hours. In the morning, the pink beagle and his best friends discovered that Muriel had failed to get any sleep. Muriel decided to try again, yet the same result happened. This continued for the next few days, with Muriel being unable to fall asleep.

A few days later, Muriel was really exhausted from a lack of sleep for a few days, while she was making breakfast, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage were really started to get worried for Muriel.

"Oh," Muriel moaned, as she made breakfast for Eustace.

"Like, what is wrong with Aunt Muriel?" Shaggy asked with apt concern.

"Muriel, where's my breakfast?!" Eustace demanded.

"Just a minute, Eustace," Muriel answered.

Muriel returned to the counter before setting plating Eustace, Shaggy and Scooby's food on the table, but there was still shells and uncooked eggs on each of the plates.

Normally, Shaggy and Scooby would love to eat Muriel's cooking, but they're worry-sick for the old woman, plus the food was undercooked.

The moment Eustace took a bite of his undone eggs, he immediately spit them out. "Muriel, what are you trying to do to me!?"

"Sorry Eustace, I've not been myself lately," Muriel apologized.

"Well whatever you are, just get me my toast!" Eustace demanded.

"Oh, right, I forgot your toast," Muriel said, before getting up. Muriel returned, not with toast but a bowling ball. "Toast."

Eustace try to eat his 'toast' but realize it was a bowling bowl, the moment he took a bite. "What!?" he then accidentally dropped on his foot, he screamed in pain as he fell down on his chair.

"Rhat's gotta hurt," Scooby groaned with a winced.

Courage gasped, with worry and concern at what he just saw.

"Oh, right," Muriel said before going over to the cabinets, taking out some dog food, and grabbing Courage's bowl. "Food," she said fatigue before walking out of the kitchen.

"Like, zoinks," Shaggy uttered, feeling terrified for his aunt.

Courage let out a nervous whine, "The more Muriel goes without sleep, the more her mind isn't functioning."

Scooby started to whimper, "Re gotta help Ruriel get some sleep."

In the middle of the night, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage were all in Muriel and Eustace's room, trying to help Muriel fall asleep. After what happened this morning, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage decided to be more active in trying to help her fall asleep.

It was now two in the morning and Shaggy, Scooby and Courage were all admittedly getting tired.

Shaggy was trying to played a lullaby on the piano he brought with him. It was very affective to Scooby and Courage, as both dogs feel their eyes droopy.

"You're keeping me awake!" Eustace suddenly yelled at his nephew, starling him, and in the process waking up Scooby and Courage, as they both forced themselves to sit up. "With that stupid rock and roll!" the farmer threw the piano across the room and lay back down to sleep.

"Re gotta try something else," Scooby said, shaking his paw.

Scooby was reading a book on 'War and Peace' so far it succeeded putting Shaggy and Courage to sleep, but the same could not be said for Muriel.

"Rirre did not understand a word, but the conviction that all this had to be grew stronger, and he meekly followed Ranna Rikháylovna who was already opening a door. Rhis door led into a back anteroom. Ran old man, a servant of the princesses," Scooby read, before his eyelids begin to droop, as his mind begin to drift and he fell asleep, as the big book dropped on the floor.

Next Courage try hypnosis on Muriel, to help her sleep, before finally her head was down.

"I think it work," Courage said with a smile.

Shaggy and Scooby looked at one another with smiles, written on their faces.

But unfortunately the pink beagle spoke too soon and the hungry duo's smiles turned upside down, as Muriel was still awake as she rose her head. "You know, when I was a wee lass who couldn't sleep, my father would take me out for a drive."

Shaggy, Scooby and Courage couldn't help, but let out groans of distress.

Shaggy drove the truck, in hopes of helping his Aunt falling asleep.

Scooby raised his ear, he could hear snoring, "Rait, I think Ruirel fell asleep."

"Like, finally," Shaggy sighed, with relief and exhaustion, as he slowed down the truck to a stop before shifting the gear to park.

Getting out, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage went to the back to check on Muriel. Unfortunately, she was still awake.

"Well, that didn't work," Muriel said, tiredly.

"Oh, come on!" Courage bellowed anxiously, as he, Shaggy and Scooby dropped to the ground with dismay and exhaustion.

I never thought I think this but, I give anything to hear Muriel snore again. Courage thought.

"Like, I could of sworn I heard her snore," Shaggy protested, shocked that it wasn't his aunt that he thought he was hearing.

The three heard Muriel's snore again, the trio climb back up the truck. Looking back to Muriel, the trio saw that it was not coming from her.

"Mommy, sing me the one about the dancing donkey," Muriel said, delirious from lack of sleep.

"Huh?" Courage asked with a confused frown, not understanding what the heck is going on.

"Like, if Aunt Muriel isn't snoring," Shaggy began, beyond confused at this revelation.

"Rho is?" Scooby finished with a frown.

The three kept listening at 'Muriel's snoring' nearby.

"Rhere is it coming from?" Scooby asked, his ears moving like antennae to pick up the sound.

"In the forest, Shaggy drive us over there!" Courage instructed.

"You got it, little pink dude!" Shaggy obliged, as he, Scooby and Courage quickly got back into the truck.

Shifting the gear back into drive, Shaggy quickly drove in the direction the snoring was coming. Though, there were two different paths of the forest.

"Oh man, which way do I go?" Shaggy asked, in alarm.

"Rumm…" Scooby put an ear to his paw and heard the snoring coming from the right of the forest. "Ro right."

Shaggy turned right on the path, and a few minutes later, Shaggy reached the end of the forest and came upon a gigantic castle.

"Wow/Row," Shaggy, Scooby and Courage mused in awe with unison, amazed, seeing a castle.

"Like, is that castle made out of sand?" Shaggy inquired curiously.

"Reah," Scooby nodded, glancing at the castle in disbelief.

"Now, we just need to find a way to get in there," Courage reminded, as he looked around for an answer.

Scooby then thought of an idea, "Ron't worry, I got that covered," he said, as he took out three two sections of suction cups.

Smiling, the three grab the two sections of suction cups and slowly climb up to the open window in one of the castle's towers. Reaching the window, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage hopped into the castle before looking around.

"Like, is that the Sandman?" Shaggy asked in awe, while pointing to a figure sleeping on a giant bed.

"Rell, it explains why he would live in the sandcastle," Scooby replied, in equal amazement.

"Okay, I'm just gonna quietly get some sand out of the Sandman's eyes and get out of here, before he wakes up," Courage whispered, as he climbed onto the bed.

Courage slowly tiptoed over to where the Sandman lay sleeping, he nervously inspected him, like he inspected Muriel a few days ago. Shaggy and Scooby's hearts thudded with fear, as they both watched Courage with bated breath.

"Looking for something?" the Sandman suddenly asked, waking up.

Shaggy, Scooby and Courage screamed with alarm.

"Like, please mister Sandman dude, please give the sand back to my aunt!" Shaggy pleaded desperately.

"Reah, she's getting worse, the moment she goes without sleep!" Scooby added, frantically.

"Please! Please! Muriel isn't herself without sleep!" Courage cried out, tears begin to fill his eyes as he started to sob. Scooby put his paw on Courage's shoulder, trying to console him.

The Sandman walked up the window, looking out, everyone saw Muriel still in the truck. Unfortunately, her lack of sleep seems to be taking a heavy toll on her as she is starting to lose her mind.

"Sorry, but I'm not giving it back, this is the best sleep I had in years. Good night," the Sandman said, before walking over to the bed.

Shaggy, Scooby and Courage almost let out a gasp of disbelief upon hearing this.

"NO!" Courage screamed desperately, as he dove towards the bed to prevent him from getting on.

"Like, what do you mean Sandman dude?" Shaggy pleaded with the Sandman, confused and worried that he wouldn't help.

"Everyone has special sand inside of them that allows them to sleep, I merely took your aunt's dust away from her and gave it to myself," the Sandman explained.

Scooby's face filled with horror, "Rhy?"

"Because is am so tired of everyone else getting some sleep, yet I could not share it with them," the Sandman answered, sounding annoyed, before turning to Courage. "No, no, this wouldn't do, the bed isn't big enough for the two of us."

"Mmm-hmm," Courage shook his head no, determined and boldly not leaving without Muriel's sand.

"Uh, uh, time to get up," the Sandman demanded, clapping his hands.

"No!" Courage yelled, refusing to get up from the bed, 'Hey, what's this?' he asked, feeling a lump on the bed.

"Out! Out! Out!" the sandman yelled.

Shaggy and Scooby saw that Courage had wormed himself in under the mattress of the bed. "Think I found why he can't sleep," Courage answered as he came back out holding a stuffed teddy bear.

"TEDDY!" the Sandman exclaimed. "I was afraid I lost you forever, no wonder I couldn't sleep."

"Does this mean, you give Aunt Muriel her sleep back?" Shaggy asked hopefully.

"It does young man, I guess I wouldn't be needing this anymore," the Sandman said, before chanting something in a foreign tongue. After a second, some weird sand came out of his forehead.

"Row do we give it back to her?" Scooby asked, as the Sandman handed Shaggy the sand.

"All you have to do is throw it at her face, and it will do the rest," the Sandman answered before letting out a yawn. "Now, if you will excuse me, I have some much-needed sleep to get to."

"Yes!" Courage cheered with relief.

"Okay, boys I'm ready for it now," Muriel told the trio as she laid down on her bed.

"Like, here it comes," Shaggy said as he gently tossed the sand at her face.

The sand exploded as soon as it hit Muriel's face, however, instead of harming her, she fell asleep instantly.

"Rooray it worked!" Scooby exclaimed.

"Scooby!" Shaggy and Courage whispered loudly in unison.

"Rooray it worked!" Scooby cheered, this time quieter to the point lowering his voice came out as letting out a whisper.

"Can I sleep with you guys tonight?" Courage asked.

"Like, totally little pink dude," Shaggy grinned.

"Rome on," Scooby nosed Courage out of the master bedroom.

"Thanks," Courage smiled.

In the attic, Shaggy was in bed, Scooby was by the bed laying down on the floor, while Courage was curled up to Scooby.

"Goodnight guys," Shaggy yawned, as he lay down. He closed his eyes almost immediately found himself drifting off.

"Roodnight Raggy," Scooby chuckled, as he lay his head down. "Right Rourage." It was the last thing he said before drifting off to sleep himself.

"Night Scooby," Courage replied, as he close his eyes and he let himself drift to sleep.
