It was a normal morning in the farmhouse, Muriel was making breakfast and Eustace was being demanding more than usual.

"Muriel, now you made the eggs too runny, make them again," Eustace complained. "And, Muriel, hash browns, and bacon—crispy bacon."

"Like dudes, is it me or is Uncle Eustace very demanding today?" Shaggy asked.

"RI know right?" Scooby remarked, crossing his arms, "Re sure got on the wrong side of the bed."

"And Canadian ham and sausages and a steak," Eustace continued, looking only briefly away from his paper.

Muriel put a whole potato into the pan on the stove, followed by a whole pitcher of water included the container and a huge steak.

"Not to mention wasteful and picky," Courage said.

Courage was pointing to the bucket next to Eustace's feet that was filled with eggs that Eustace deemed badly made.

Shaggy broke out in a grin, "Well, no use letting those eggs go to waste, right dudes?"

"Reah," Scooby nodded, licking his chops.

Courage shook his head and chuckle, "Oh, why not."

"And how about sewing my socks? Scratch my back! Irrigate my ears, and my coffee's cold! And make it snappy," Eustace continued to demand.

Shaggy, Scooby and Courage began to eat the eggs, that Eustace had earlier.

Muriel had gotten fed up with Eustace and turned on the radio to drown him out.

"Are you over worked and under appreciated?" the guy on the radio asked.

"Row, they're talking about Ruirel," Scooby remarked, as he saw Muriel nod in answer to the radio.

"Then join us for the getaway of a life time, as a crew member of the world's first nuclear powered vacation cruise submarine. Report for duty at substandard cruises at 0600 hours," the radio guy said, before Muriel turned it off with a very happy smile.

"RI think we can all use a vacation right now," Scooby said with awe.

"Like, let's go pack up," Shaggy agreed whole-heartedly.

Shaggy and Scooby both got packed up, while Muriel also got packed up and picked up Courage.

"Huh? What's happening?" Courage asked in confusion, as Muriel took off the bucket from Courage's face, quickly cleaned him before placing him under her arm.

"Re're going on vacation Rourage," Scooby said, with an excited grin.

Muriel opened the kitchen door and she, Shaggy and Scooby exited the house, all the while Eustace kept on demanding food. Oblivious to the fact that his family just left.

The family were in an old looking submarine that should only be in museums now, but the trio guess that's the power of the submarine having nuclear power. Looking around, the family saw that there was about twenty other people waiting in line to gain access.

"Oh, boys, it's so thrilling. I'd never realized submarines were so... submarine," Muriel said in amazement.

"I don't like it, I prefer being on dry land," Courage squeaked out.

"Roh come on Rourage, it'll be fun," Scooby assured the nervous pink beagle with a hopeful smile.

"Yeah little pink dude, there might be a buffet on this trip," Shaggy laughed, while rubbing his tummy.

That made Courage crack a smile, they always cheered him up, "If you say so."

"Hey dog!" a voice called out from behind.

Turning around, Courage saw was that it came from the dummy the man behind them was carrying.

"Yes?" Courage hesitated, taking a anxious glance at the dummy.

"Over, here, I, for one, don't want to be here. You?" the dummy asked.

"Uh-uh," Courage answered, with slightly uncertainty.

"Me, I'm claustrophobic. Can't stand being stuck in small places," the dummy told the pink beagle

"Yeah, I hear ya," Courage replied. The thought of being trapped in a tiny space for hours made his stomach flipped.

"Hey, not in the case man, it's dark!" the dummy begged, when the man put the suitcase on the floor and put the dummy in the case.

Upon watching this, Courage began nervously hyperventilating, his eyes wide, as he immediately ran to Muriel to try and tell her what he saw, hearing a clink followed by the sound of platform rising, the family figured that either the captain or a crewmate was coming to start letting them in.

After a minute, a hole in front of the family opened up and Shaggy, Scooby and Courage froze and their hearts begin to pound as they recognized the tall figure. A red cat in a sailor suit appeared, it was...KATZ.

"Welcome aboard the nuclear vacation class submarine, I'm Katz-Captain Katz," Katz introduced himself before walking up to the family.

Shaggy, Scooby and Courage gasped in horror and shock.

"Roh-no, not him!" Scooby yelped out.

"It's Katz!" Shaggy and Courage added on in unison, their voices quivering as much as their bodies are.

Katz went up to Muriel with his expression changing to a sly one, "Do you have any special skills?"

"I do make a fine cup of tea," Muriel answered.

"Good, then you will be my first mate in charge of tea," Katz told the old woman, he then placed a hat on her head before moving to the side to let her through.

But when it was Scooby and Courage's turn Katz grabbed the two dogs by the ears, "No dogs allowed."

"Whoa!/Rhoa!" Scooby and Courage exclaimed, when Katz tossed them away roughly from Shaggy.

Shaggy turned to Katz and accused, "Like, what's your problem man? Why aren't dogs allowed here?"

"Like, I said before I don't want the guests being disturbed," Katz simply replied.

"But they wouldn't disturb a fly," Shaggy argued, on letting the dogs get on with him, especially when he doesn't want to be alone with Katz right now.

"RULES are RULES, I'm sorry," Katz replied, coldly.

Shaggy dove towards the dogs.

"Are you dudes alright?" Shaggy panicked for his best friends.

"Re're okay Raggy," Scooby winced as he got up.

"Is it just me, or has Katz gotten stronger the last time I saw him?" Courage moaned, as he stood on his paws.

"Help. Can't breathe. I want out," the dummy muffled from inside the suitcase.

Courage opened the suitcase, which also allowed the dummy to breathe again.

"Aw, thanks, I'm grateful," the dummy said, before booking it from this place as fast as he can.

Scooby and Shaggy both recoiled at the dummy, they've have unfortunate encounters with dummies with Mystery Inc before.

Courage looked at the suitcase, he suddenly had and idea and turned to Scooby, "Better hold onto your breath Scooby, we're going in."

Scooby nodded, before he and Courage both took deep breaths, knowing it would be their last until they're both out of the suitcase and jumping in the case, while also closing in. Shaggy was distracting Katz.

Fighting back panic, Shaggy swallowed hard. He forced his muscles to loosen and met the red cat's gaze, "Sorry they have to go. But like you said, rules are rules."

"Very good dear boy, you are my first mate and you are in charge of security," Katz said, as place a hat on Shaggy's head.

"Whatever you say, Captain," Shaggy prayed the brightness in his voice was convincing, as he headed in the submarine.

Katz then allowed the man, who apparently is a ventriloquist, through.

An hour later, Shaggy went to find Muriel in the kitchen, she was making tea.

"How's it going Aunt Muriel?" Shaggy asked.

"Very good Shaggy, just preparing the tea. Would you care for a cup?" Muriel offered.

"I'm good for now, Aunt Muriel? Do you know where I can find the ventriloquist?" Shaggy asked, desperate to find his best friends as soon as possible.

"He's performing on stage," Muriel responded.

"Okay, thanks Aunt Muriel," Shaggy replied gratefully, as he left the kitchen. "That must be where Scooby and the little pink dude must be. I hope they can handle being inside a suitcase."

"-So are you ready for a big finally?" the ventriloquist asked on stage, ready to end the show.

"No I'm thirsty for a big drink," the ventriloquist throw out his voice, as he made his 'dummy,' who was really Courage in disguise.

The ventriloquist grabbed a bottle of seltzer water and drank it, which somehow made Courage burped out bubbles.

The crowd cheered as the ventriloquist bowed down at his audience, he went over backstage where he put Courage next to Scooby and close the case.

"That seltzer just goes right through me," the ventriloquist complained, before leaving the room.

Once the door closed, Scooby and Courage popped out and gasping for air.

"Rood thing that I know how to stay very still," Scooby said, panting, "Rall those years of hiding from bad guys really paid off."

"Yeah," Courage responded, as he panted for air.

Shaggy opened the door and saw the two dogs, he called out softly, "Scooby-Doo, Courage."

"Shaggy!/Raggy!" Scooby and Courage jumped up and smiled to see their best friend.

"Are you guys okay?" Shaggy asked, thankful they survived in that airless case for a long time.

"Re're okay Raggy," Scooby reassured his owner.

"We've both just experienced being a dummy," Courage remarked, before changing the subject, "So what happened? Where's Muriel?"

"Aunt Muriel Is..." Shaggy began before he was cut off by a door opening.

Shaggy, Scooby and Courage all stood frozen in shock.

"Zoinks, get in position," Shaggy ordered urgently.

Scooby and Courage then both freeze like dummies, as Katz came into the room.

"How are things going First Mate Shaggy?" Katz asked, feeling something was off with the teenager.

Like, does he suspect anything? Shaggy asked himself, fighting against panic. Then Shaggy forced himself to be calm, telling himself that if Katz had suspect him, he would surely have asked what he was doing, "Pretty good captain dude."

"Don't call me DUDE," Katz dangerously hissed at the cowardly teen.

Shaggy gulped, as he forced himself not to start shaking, "Sorry."

"Don't fail me," Katz ordered, although it seemed like a threat, "Now leave."

Shaggy quickly nodded, as slipped out the door and closing it, but press his ear against the door to hear what Katz was planning this time. Like, what is Katz planning this time?

"First mate Muriel, this is captain Katz. Please have my tea ready for me at 1600 hundred hours. Today, I favor a cup of Tea-N-Tea, a big cup," Katz said through a microphone that broadcasted his order to Muriel in the kitchen.

Rhat is he planning? Scooby thought, his muscles tensing and force himself to keep at still as he can.

"And then, when we dive and hit BOTTOM, what happens? BOOM, BOOM," Katz said, using Courage like a dummy, Courage almost flinched at the cold touch of Katz's paws, but kept very still.

Shaggy gasped softly. He's gonna blow up the submarine! Tightness gripped his chest, and he struggled to steady his breathing. Like, I can't believe he's willing to go far as to harm innocent dudes!

Katz laugh manically and dropping Courage before walking away.

Once Katz was out of the room Shaggy came in with a pale-ghost-like face. "He-He-He-He's gonna blow up the submarine!" he exclaimed with fear.

"Oh-no!" Courage felt sick to his stomach.

"Re gotta find Ruriel," Scooby said, feeling a rush of fear sweep through his body.

Getting to the kitchen, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage saw Muriel pouring herself a cup of tea. Hopefully not from the one that Katz ordered.

"Oh, there you are, I've just finished making the tea Katz ordered. Would you all like some?" Muriel asked.

"Aunt Muriel, like, that tea is not actually tea, it's dynamite," Shaggy began with a fearful frown.

"Re overheard captain Katz say he was going to blow up the submarine with the tea," Scooby clarified with a sickening pit in his stomach.

Courage even began to transform into a submarine then exploded. Muriel just looked at the cowardly trio with disapproving eyes before taking a whiff of the tea followed by a sip that she nearly spit out.

"First of all, it's not polite to eavesdrop on other people. Second of all, you boys are right, something is terribly wrong with this tea, I do think you all are exaggerating about the captain using it to explode the ship. Either way, I'm going to talk to Captain Katz about this," Muriel told the trio before leaving the room.

"NO!" Courage cried out, panicking.

"Aunt Muriel, don't," Shaggy begged.

But Muriel ignored her nephew and exited the kitchen. Shaggy, Scooby and Courage followed her to try and convince her to not confront Katz but unfortunately, he was right outside the kitchen.

Knowing this could go bad, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage moved back nervously as to not get spotted.

"Captain Katz! I'm afraid you've got a bit of explaining to do," Muriel told him angrily.

"A captain does not have to explain himself to his first mate," Katz countered.

"You do when it involves this tea," Muriel demanded while showing him the box of Tea-N-Tea.

"Yes," Katz said suspiciously and irritated.

Cold fear ran along Shaggy, Scooby and Courage's spines, what was Katz going to do to Muriel now?

"Oh-no!" Courage exclaimed, realizing his fears is about to come true.

"Roh, that is not good," Scooby added, just as frightened.

"Oh, my," Muriel said surprised, as Katz locked the cell with a key. "All I was trying to do was tell you that this tea smells rotten."

"Really Muriel?/Really Ruriel?" Shaggy, Scooby and Courage said vehemently in unison, as they all face palmed a bit, even in mortal danger, she still does not perceive danger like the cowardly trio.

"You're a spy sent to thwart my efforts to blow up this sub with explosive tea," Katz said, ignoring her.

"Excuse me?" Muriel asked, surprised.

"I swim to safety, and Substandard cruises will be ruined, my company, Katz Submarine Cruises, will get all the underwater business," Katz explained to her, as he took out a pamphlet about his company.

"Don't you think this is a wee bit extreme?" Muriel asked, clearly worried.

"Well, I'm off to find the other spies. Ta-ta," was all Katz said as he walked back towards the exit where we were.

Crouching and moving back even more, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage let him pass completely before getting out and entering the room.

"Boys, you've got to do something, the captain is gonna blow up the submarine," Muriel said, in worry.

"Let's get you out of here," Courage said before he began to mercilessly bite on the bars, only for it to backfire as he ended up breaking all his teeth.

"You all better go get help," Muriel told the trio.

"Come on dudes," Shaggy took a breath, his heart was racing at a faster pace than usual. He couldn't let his aunt notice that.

Courage stared at his owner for a second, worried about Muriel's safety, "We'll be back for you Muriel, I promise," he said to her owner, who give him an understood smile.

Running back the way the trio came, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage found the missile room. Going over to the terminal, Courage spied a lever that had the sign missile launcher above it. This could be their ticket to find help.

"Fellas, we could use the torpedo to launch ourselves to the surface to get help," Courage said, trying to stay calm.

"Are you sure about this little pink dude?" Shaggy asked with growing concern.

"It's the only way out of here," Courage explained indignantly.

"Re have no other choice Raggy," Scooby told him.

Shaggy nodded, "For Aunt Muriel," though he looked as scared as ever.

Courage pulled the lever, the screen above lit up and began a countdown from eight seconds. Turning around, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage entered the hole in the wall where the missiles went in. Picking Courage up, Shaggy placed him inside before he and Scooby climbed in and Scooby shut the hatch behind him.

"Hang on guys!" Courage shouted.

Shaggy, Scooby and Courage squeezed their eyes shut, fearing what would happen next. They all screamed, while they were launched extremely fast from the submarine that in less than a second, we were above the ocean flying towards land. The cowardly trio grunted, as the three hit the ground, bounced up and off someone.

"Top secrets for sale, get your top secrets here," the person they bumped into said.

"Like wait, isn't that the banana from the future? How is he here? And where did he get these top secrets from?" Shaggy questioned, completely puzzled from this strange turn of events.

"Ro time for questions Raggy, I found someone that can help us," Scooby answered, pointing at the Pentagon, indicating they're in Washington DC.

Courage gasped, "We're at a government base, of course, the government,"

"Let's go!" Shaggy said with determination.

Heading inside, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage saw that this place was massive with hundreds of people running about. Yet none seemed to notice them as they were too busy doing their work, continuing forward, the trio tried to find someone that could help us. After many twists and turns, the three best friends came upon what looked like a meeting room, and inside were two people. It was the general and the lieutenant.

"Can someone-" Shaggy began, but stopped when he saw the general give the lieutenant a live bomb.

The lieutenant seemed confused for a moment before the bomb exploded, though, when the dust cleared, he seemed fine despite the explosion.

"Um, what's going on here?" Courage asked, confused at what he is seeing.

"Can't have a pizza summit without pizza," the general said walking over to a table that had party hats, cups and streamers on it.

"No can-do sir," the lieutenant said while walking over to the general and dropping an anvil on the general.

"RAN SOMEONE HELP!?" Scooby shouted to get their attention as they were too busy brutalizing each other.

They turned to face the trio with the general pulling out a razor and shaving his nonexistent beard.

"Where's the pizza, pizza boys?" the general asked.

"We need your help! A crazy cat captain is going to blow up a submarine and kill many people!" Courage quickly screamed, while transforming into Katz followed by a submarine that exploded.

"Out of anchovies? Why, this is insubordination! Court martial them!" the general said as he put on a flamethrower.

The general turned to the lieutenant and pulled the trigger which made a giant glove come out the nozzle which hit the lieutenant and sent him flying into the wall.

"How can you think of pizza at a time like this?" Courage pointed out in annoyance.

"Like, we may be hungry but even we can't eat at a time like this! We gotta get help before it's too late," Shaggy reminded his best friends.

"Rut how?" Scooby asked, in worry.

Courage turned to look at the TV, "Guys look!"

'I've just obtained secret document.' the reporter announced on the television.

"I know how to get the word out, come on," Courage told his best friends, as they raced back outside.

Getting outside, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage saw the reporter standing in the same spot from earlier, Courage went up to him and picked up the reporter.

"Like sorry man, we need to borrow you. It's a matter of life and death," Shaggy told the reporter.

"It appears, I'm being kidnapped," the reporter announced.

Shaggy, Scooby and Courage had swum as fast as they could to get back to the submarine, they took the door entrance, but they didn't have to open door, because someone already did it for them. It flooded the room, but the person who opened it, the ventriloquist close the door before more water could come in.

Shaggy, Scooby and Courage ran down the halls back to where Muriel was located.

"There you boys are, did you get help?" Muriel asked, when she spotted the trio.

"Rort of, Ruriel," Scooby responded sheepishly, they tried to until things got complicated, "Rell him everything that happened."

Muriel then began to tell the reported what has happened so far.

"Tea-N-Tea, the scrounge of any good submarine vacation," the reporter suddenly announced.

"This Tea-N-Tea is bad tea, very bad tea,"Muriel said into the microphone.

"You heard it here first folks," the reporter said, before turning off the camera and leaving the room.

"Okay, so word is out, now we just need to get the key from Katz and free Muriel," Courage said.

"Rut where could he be?" Scooby asked curiously.

The chuckle of Katz was heard down the hall, and it brought chills to the cowardly trio's skins.

"Well, like, that solves that, follow me," Shaggy told his best friends.

"Be careful boys!" Muriel shouted to the three best friends.

Shaggy, Scooby and Courage raced down to the hall where Katz was, following his laughter, the cowardly trio saw that he was in the same room that they were in before.

"And now it's time to say bye-bye. Substandard cruise," Katz said, as he put on a diving tank plus goggles before turning to the console.

"No!/Ro!" Shaggy, Scooby and Courage all yelled in unison, as they jumped onto Katz, before he could pull the lever.

Katz yelped in shock as he quickly threw the cowardly trio onto the ground, "Your not dummies, your dogs."

Shaggy narrowed his eyes and folding his arms across his chest, "Like your right Katz, they are dogs and I don't care if I break your cruise rules. They're not just dogs, They're my best buddies in the whole world. They will do anything for me and I will do anything for them as well. For example, is stopping you from destroying this sub along with its passengers."

Scooby and Courage felt surges of warmth, they're so thankful they weren't alone in this.

"Very well then. Not only do I detest dogs, but I also detest dog lovers as well," Katz hissed.

Scooby flung himself at Katz to the floor before he could pull the lever. "Rourage, quickly grab the key on his belt!" he called.

"No, you won't," Katz declared, as he easily slipped out of Scooby's grip and grabbed Courage arm and sent him flying towards Scooby.

Katz pulled the lever down which made the trio nearly lose their balance.

Shaggy went over and pulled the lever back up.

Everyone continued to fight and try and take each other out, all the while lifting the lever every time Katz pulled it. This went over for a while, just trying to stop him from doing.

Come on, Come on! Courage thought determinedly

Katz grabbed Courage who was on his head and try to grab the key, Katz threw him at the console, he managed to grab the key from Katz. Yes! Courage mentally whopped.

But then Courage accidentally slid down onto the lever which caused it to go down. But also caused it to break which meant they could not stop it.

Shaggy's eyes widened with terror, "Zoinks!" he cried.

"Ruh-oh!" Scooby yelled.

Courage looked at the broken lever in his paws, his heart leaping into his chest and he let out a terrified shriek.

Katz laughed when he saw that, "In two minutes and eight seconds, this sub will hit bottom and then... boom," the evil cat stated, as he started turning a valve and opened it which allowed water to get in the sub, which also sent Shaggy, Scooby and Courage to the other side of the room due to the force of the water, the three watched helplessly as Katz then climbed into the pipe to escape, "Ta-Ta."

"Like, help me with the water door!" Shaggy shouted.

Scooby and Shaggy managed to stand up against the force of the water and to the valve and tried to shut it tight. Only for the hungry duo to feel overwhelming dread and horror that they can't close the valve do the the force of the seawater.

"Rit won't open!" Scooby screamed.

"We gotta get outta here!" Courage shouted.

Shaggy, Scooby and Courage swam out of the missile room, and swam back to the cell with Muriel screaming in fear, as she saw the water rising.

"Don't worry Muriel, we're here!" Courage assured his owner, as he unlock the cage of Muriel's cell.

"Ah, Courage, Shaggy, Scooby, I knew you boys would save me," Muriel sighed with relief.

"Come on Muriel, let's go," Courage said quickly, masking his fear from his voice. His hopes of leaving the cell where much slimmer now, but he couldn't let Shaggy, Scooby and Muriel know that, Muriel would cry and Shaggy and Scooby would worry and panic.

Shaggy, Scooby and Courage took in air as much as they could before they and Muriel dove down underwater, a few seconds later, the family broke through the surface, gasping and saw everyone huddled together while screaming in terror.

The ventriloquist, was in a state of panic, that he turned the valve which opened the back of the sub which also let more water in. Shaggy, Scooby and Courage let out a collective fearful gasp as they saw more water was being poured in.

"Zoinks!" Shaggy cried, burying his face into Scooby's neck as he started to sob, "We're doomed! We're trapped in a submarine under fifty feet of water! The water's rising! And it's about to explode!"

"Re're gonna drown! Re're gonna drown!" Scooby screamed.

"No! No! No! No! No!" Courage cried out in fear as he look at Muriel, who was a little worried about their current situation. He was sure this was the end for them, the water was almost at the ceiling. At this rate, they're going to drown in a matter of minutes. Or blown to bits, he wasn't sure which way to die was worse. Just when hope seems to be lost, he saw a bottle of seltzer water he drank earlier when he was pretending to be the dummy.

Then a plan formed in Courage's mind, "Wait, I have an idea, it's gonna be gross, but it might work."

Shaggy and Scooby turned to Courage and have questions written on their faces when they saw him drink a town of seltzer water which made him swell up like a balloon.

Courage then burped and released a giant bubble which entrapped his family, he then did the same from everyone else. They all then slowly started to float out of the sub and back to the top of the ocean safely, if not a bit disgusted.

"Oh, Courage, you save everyone," Muriel said happily.

"Well there comes a moment when heroism is needed," Courage remarked with a smile.

"You don't choose that moment," Shaggy chided in.

"Rhat moment chooses you," Scooby finished.

"Did you get that from Oprah?" Muriel asked, the trio.

"Nope it's a Rogers family special, I learned it from my dad and I taught that to Courage and Scooby," Shaggy explained with a smile.

"How lovely, your parents and your friends will be so proud of you," Muriel smiled, as she happily hugged Shaggy, Scooby and Courage.

"Thanks, Aunt Muriel," Shaggy smiled.

The family were back in the farmhouse again eating some breakfast, when the family got here, Eustace was still demanding a lot, oblivious to everything.

"-Scratch my back! Irrigate my ears. Block my hat. My coffee is cold," Eustace demanded.

Muriel handed some coffee over to her husband

"Well, it's about time," Eustace said, not looking away from his newspaper.

"It's good to be back," Shaggy shrugged contentedly, as he rolled his eyes at his uncle.

"Are you overworked and under-appreciated?" the radio guy asked.

Shaggy, Scooby and Courage looked at each other and give deadpan looks to the radio, of course neither of them weren't too enthusiastic about going on a another dangerous vacation.

"Are the same old eggs and socks making you hungry for a change?" the radio asked again.

Suddenly, a cannonball that was aimed at the radio which destroyed it, Courage wore a captain's hat with a toy battle ship on the table which he used to destroy the ship.

"I had enough vacation for one day," Shaggy said, not wanting to deal with another adventure.

"Re too," Scooby agreed with a nod.

"All's well, that ends well," Courage laughed.

Scooby let out a light laugh, "Rou said it. Scooby-Dooby-Doo!"

Well that's all for this chapter, next will be Curtain of Cruelty. I like to thank schweenieboy for the quotes and ideas. Let me guys know in the reviews/comments of what should I do for the future episodes or next chapter. And what Courage should say in future chapters. Until then this is vakarns signing out.

Curtain of Cruelty: When a strange pink curtain is going through Nowhere making the citizens cruel and mean, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage finds out that all of this is caused by Professor Mean, who is also cruel and unhappy, and wants everyone else to be cruel and unhappy too.
