The family were exiting the annual fair that came to Nowhere, since the fair was in town, the family all decided to go there for the day.

"My, isn't it a marvelous fair this year?" Muriel asked, as she and her family left the fair, ""The hay ride was just grand, grand."

"Argh! Another fifty cents down the drain," Eustace complained, as he finished the food he was eating before tossing the plate on the floor.

"Seriously farmer, how hard is it to throw away a plate?" Courage mumbled, as he thrown away Eustace's plate in the trash can.

Scooby and Courage hurried up to the truck, Courage jumped into the front while the Scooby went in the back, with Shaggy. Soon, the family were on the road heading back.

"I just love county fairs," Muriel exclaimed, happily.

"Blah, blah, blah," Eustace complained.

"Like, he best part is that Scoob and I won the pie-eating contest this year," Shaggy giggled.

"Rand it's a good thing it's a tag team contest," Scooby added, as he and Shaggy give each other hi-fives.

"You two know how to eat one hundred pies," Courage complimented amazed, as he ate his cotton candy.

"Like, all it takes is practice and a good strategy," Shaggy replied happily.

"Rou should enter sometime Courage," Scooby told his best friend adding with a smile.

Courage giggled, before pointing out, "I don't know about that," he wasn't sure he could eat a hundred pies without getting a stomachache.

Courage thought he notice a crow flying by the truck, his happy mood turned into curiosity, "Huh?"

Courage screamed in horror, noticing the crows coming towards the truck that easily numbered in the hundreds. There so many that it looked like a black blanket in the sky.

Scooby give out a scream of surprise.

"Zoinks!" Shaggy screamed in fright.

"Oh, I guess rain's a-coming. I better close the window," Muriel said as she began to roll up her window, but she then screamed when a crow got caught in the window as Muriel rolled the glass up.

Courage was screaming as well before jumping onto Eustace head blinding him.

"HEY! WATCH WHAT YOU"RE DOING!" Eustace shouted, as he tried to get Courage off his head.

"Crow in the car! Crow in the car!" Courage cried out with fear.

"Hang on Scoob!" Shaggy yelled, as he and Scooby struggled to remain on the truck and not get flung off.

The family all screamed when the truck suddenly veered off the road and into the corn field with corn flying all over the place as we ran over the crops, after a few seconds, the truck stopped not from Eustace hitting the brakes, but by going into a small dich.

"WHAT DO YOU!" Eustace shouted, as he took Courage off his head.

"Crow in the car! Crow in the car!" Courage wailed hyserically.

Eustace ignored him and put him in the glove compartment, the grumpy old farmer then turned to Shaggy and Scooby, who were both staring at him, "What are you two idiots looking at?"

"Nothing!/Rothing!" Shaggy and Scooby quickly said with toothy grins, and try to act casual.

Nothing but your dark soul. Shaggy's skin shudder with apprehension.

Rith all the happy plums and fabric softener nothing can ever change Rustace. Scooby thought.

"Must be stuck in a ditch," Eustace answered irritated.

"Now Eustace. Getting all unhinged isn't going to help," Muriel reminded him, "Like my Aunt Gertrude always said-" she was cut off, as she started screaming.

"Now that's what I call wisdom," Shaggy said amazed, and thinking that Muriel's aunt meant screaming would help instead of Muriel really meant she saw something scary.

"Raggy look!" Scooby said with a freaked out expression, while pointing with his paw in fear.

Turning around, Shaggy saw a giant black creature groaning as it came to the family. Shaggy screamed in fear.

"Uncle Eustace, do something!" Shaggy cried out pleadingly.

"HEY, YOU!" Eustace shouted before blaring the horn of the truck.

The result was the creature flying into the air a bit and revealing that the creature was nothing more than a scarecrow being carried by the crows that got scared off by the trucks horn, the scarecrow then fell on top of the hood of the truck. Eustace Muriel, Shaggy and Scooby screamed louder at the sight of the lifeless scarecrow.

Courage at that point got out of the glove compartment, "Hey guys what I miss?"

"That!/Rhat!" Scooby and Shaggy whimpered in unison, pointing at the scarecrow in fear.

Courage screamed out in fear when he saw the scarecrow before going back in the glove compartment and putting up a do not disturb sign on the handle.

"Well, would you look at that, It's nothing but an old scarecrow. Poor thing," Muriel said, as she exited the truck, to look over the scarecrow.

"Eh, forget that worthless pile of straw," Eustace said irritated.

"Like no offense Aunt Muriel, but that scarecrow gives us the heebie-jeebies!" Shaggy whimpered.

"Reah, heebie-jeebies!" Scooby shook.

"Now, boys, really. All it needs is a few buttons here and there, a patch or two, and it'll be good as new," Muriel answered.

The next morning, the family were in the kitchen of the farmhouse, the scarecrow was on the table apart. Getting here, Muriel decided to immediately fix up the scarecrow after cleaning it, the family were even dressed as doctors.

"Hmm, the wee scissors," Muriel instructed.

"Scissors," Courage replied, as he handed her the scissors. He then saw a rat jump out of a small hay pile that was on the table. Having a fear of rodents, Courage moaned, feeling all the strength leaving him and he fainted.

"I got it," Shaggy volunteered, as he picked up the rat, and dragged it outside, as he opened the door. "Like sorry man, Uncle Eustace isn't a fan of having rats in the house," he spoke to the rat, he then closed the back door.

Muriel meanwhile, put some of Eustace clothes on the scarecrow, and for the finishing touch, she put a hat on it. "There you go, good as new." She stepped back and lowered her mask, but she then gasped when the scarecrow suddenly GOT UP BY ITSELF, "Oh, my!"

The sight made Scooby squeal in fear.

Shaggy let out a shriek and took a few steps backwards as Scooby jumped into his arms, "Zoinks!"

The family saw the scarecrow drop to the ground, and heard muffled mumbling coming from it.

"MURIEL! What's all this junk doing on the floor!" Eustace shouted, as he kicked the basket that was holding the cloths we used to sew back the scarecrow.

"Oh!" Muriel gasped, annoyed and mad at Eustace.

"Like, what's your problem man?" Shaggy interjected with exasperation.

"My problem is that there is JUNK all over the floor, I like me floors when there is NOTHING in the way. Now get out of my way Shaggy-haired-fella so I can get some food," Eustace complained, as he head towards the fridge and push his nephew out of the way.

Shaggy scrunched up his face in disapproval, as he rolled his eyes. The scarecrow seem to get angry, it got up and went up to Eustace who was looking in the fridge. The scarecrow then proceeded to try and scare Eustace with some muffled moans.

Courage opened his eyes and his pupils shrink in horror when he saw a live scarecrow walking, like it was alive. Courage whimpered, his vision started to fade and the last thing he noticed was the scarecrow coming towards Eustace...

The scarecrow who kept on doing the muffled moans in an attempt to scare Eustace, yet he did not even hear or acknowledge him. That is, until the scarecrow got close to him.

"EH? Get away from me," Eustace said, as he pushed the scarecrow away, he then left the room.

"Like, I am terribly sorry about my uncle, he can be a total grouchy pants," Shaggy said to the scarecrow.

"Rery grouchy," Scooby added.

The hungry duo then picked up the unconscious Courage and left the living room.

In the living Shaggy and Scooby sat Courage on the couch, after a few minutes the cowardly pink beagle finally regain consciousness. He shook his head, briefly wondering where he was and what was happening.

"Rourage are you okay?" Scooby asked, genuinely concerned.

"Huh?" Courage asked groggily, as he sat up, "Yeah, I'm fine."

"Like, you had us worried sick," Shaggy said.

Courage grinned awkwardly, "You guys aren't gonna believe this, I dreamed that I saw a scarecrow come to life," he chuckled nervously, as he looked at the Great Dane hopefully.

Scooby's expression was dour, not sure how to explain this to him, "Ruh, Rourage…Rhat wasn't a dream."

Just as Scooby said that, the scarecrow walked in, "Hello."

Courage flinched and let out a muffled squeak, but thankfully he didn't faint again, "H-Hello."

Shaggy's voice quivered with apprehension as he addressed the scarecrow, his eyes wide with fear. 'Like, you're not gonna eat us, are you?' he whined anxiously. The memory of him and his Aunt Muriel being swallowed up by Tulip's massive pet worm, lingered in his mind like a haunting nightmare. The thought of being trapped inside that cavernous digestive tract, slowly being dissolved by corrosive acids, sent shivers down his spine. A week had passed since their harrowing ordeal, but the trauma still lingered.

"No, that would be heartless," the scarecrow denied.

Courage almost fainted with relief. My family are safe. He at least didn't have anything to worry about the scarecrow hurting Muriel, Shaggy and Scooby. "That's good."

"I hope you don't mind if I stay here, until my scaring comes back," the scarecrow said.

"Well, there is a lot of scary stuff that happens in Nowhere," Courage sighed inwardly.

"Sometimes, creepy stuff happens outside of Nowhere," Shaggy put in.

"Reah, creepy," Scooby added.

"Then this will get me my scaring back," the scarecrow said.

"Just try not to scare us okay?" Courage explained, he and best friends are really easy to scare.

"Okay," the Scarecrow nodded, obliged to Courage's request.

Scooby's famished stomach let out an audible growl, "RI'm hungry."

"Let's make some lunch," Shaggy decided, as he and Scooby left the living room to make lunch, feeling a bit peckish.

Courage cast a furtive glance over his shoulder, his eyes met those of the enigmatic Scarecrow. A flicker of uncertainty crossed his mind as he pondered the question he was about to ask. Live scarecrows were not exactly common live things, and he had no prior knowledge of their dietary habits. "You hungry?" Mustering all his bravery, Courage uttered the words, 'You hungry?' His voice was hesitant, filled with a mixture of trepidation and curiosity. He wondered if the Scarecrow even understood the concept of nourishment, or if it was merely a figment of his imagination. But as the words escaped his lips, he couldn't help but feel a sense of relief, as if he had finally broken the ice in their awkward encounter.

"I'm good, thank you," the scarecrow replied.

"How about some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches little pink dude? It's vinegar free," Shaggy inquired, his voice laced with an irresistible charm that belied the madness that surrounded them. 'It's vinegar free,' he added.

Courage's eyes sparkled with unbridled excitement as he received the news of his beloved sandwich being prepared. "Oh boy, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches!" he exclaimed, his voice bubbling with glee. 'Especially the ones without vinegar,' he added, a playful grin spreading across his face.

Each word seemed to dance on his tongue, a testament to his unbridled enthusiasm. Without a moment's hesitation, he turned on his heel and darted towards the kitchen, his footsteps light and quick as he imagined the warm, gooey sandwich waiting for him. The anticipation was almost unbearable, his stomach already grumbling with delight. He could practically taste the smooth peanut butter and the sweet, sticky jelly mingling on his tongue. Courage's love for this simple treat was as boundless as the sky, a feeling that filled him with pure and unadulterated joy.

For lunch, Shaggy and Scooby, with their insatiable appetites, had created a veritable feast of sandwiches for lunch: tuna melt, ham and cheese, even a triple-decker club. Courage, ever the simple soul, had opted for his tried-and-true peanut butter and jelly.

A playful giggle escaped Shaggy as he spotted a smear of pink on Courage's cheek. "Like, little pink dude," he chuckled, "For a best friend who doesn't eat much like the rest of us, you sure are a messy eater."

Courage's face, already flushed from the laughter, turned a shade redder. "Shaggy," he giggled, his voice barely a whisper.

"Rhat? Rit's true Rourage," Scooby chimed in, his voice a rumbling snicker.

"Boys!" A familiar voice called from outside.

Shaggy, Scooby, and Courage all shuffled to the window.

"Yes?" Courage asked.

'Would you mind pouring us all a wee dram of lemonade?' Muriel asked, her voice as warm as the summer sun.

"Like, totally Aunt Muriel, be right back," Shaggy responded, his voice brimming with enthusiasm.

Shaggy quickly grabbed a container of lemonade from the fridge, while Scooby rummaged through the cupboards for five glasses. With the lemonade poured and the glasses arranged on a tray, Courage stepped forward. Together, the trio headed towards the back door, ready to enjoy a leisurely afternoon with Muriel.

Scooby, his tail wagging furiously, bounded ahead, his tongue lolling out in a happy grin. "Rey! Re got lema-" he halted abruptly, his grin vanishing as fast as it had appeared. His ears flattened against his head and his eyes widened in alarm. There was a snake, its scales shimmering in the afternoon sun. The creature's head was raised, its forked tongue flicking in and out, and Scooby's heart pounded in his chest.

Panic erupted like a wildfire, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage's bulged in horror as they let out piercing screams, this cause the snake to scream as well, before biting its tail and then, like a tire, it rode away scared. This left the trio in a state of bewildered amusement.

"Thank you, boys," Muriel said, patting Courage on the head.

"I've seen many snakes before, but I've never seen a cowardly snake," Shaggy couldn't help but chuckled.

Scooby joined in the laughter, adding his own comic observation, "Re either."

"At least we're not the only cowards around here now," Courage couldn't resist a mischievous snicker at Shaggy's witty jest.

The absurd sight of a timid snake had somehow brought a glimmer of comfort to their hearts, assuring them that even the most fearsome of creatures could be susceptible to moments of unfounded apprehension.

But then, the cowardly trio heard the scarecrow start sobbing behind them.

"Now, now, I don't want you worrying about frightening things on my account," Muriel told him.

"Oh, if I can't scare things away to protect you, what good am I?" the scarecrow asked sadly.

"Don't you worry about protecting me, nothing bad ever happens around here," Muriel told him.

"That's not what your nephew said," the scarecrow pointed out, of what he heard from Shaggy earlier.

As if to answer the unspoken question, a giant spaceship, all gleaming metal and bristling with an array of menacing cannons, descended from the sky with a thunderous roar. It landed with a bone-jarring thud mere feet away from the bewildered group, its imposing presence eclipsing the quaint, sun-drenched town square. The air thrummed with the hum of alien technology, a chilling reminder of the chaos that often followed in the wake of such arrivals.

"Oh no not again!" Courage wailed, his voice trembling, his wide with fear as he dropped the tray of lemonade he was carrying, the bright yellow liquid pooled around him.

"Oh, my," Muriel gasped.

The scarecrow moaned as he went up to the alien and tried to scare it away, but the alien simply looked confused before using a tentacle to slap him away. The alien turned its attention towards the family, their fear palpable even in the stifling silence. Its single, large eye narrowed, focusing its attention on them. From the depths of its dark and metallic form, it extended a weapon, a gun unlike anything they had ever seen, its barrel pulsating with an ominous, unsettling light. The family, frozen in place with terror, watched in horrified anticipation as the alien raised the weapon, its gaze unwavering, its intention clear.

"Oh, my," Muriel gasped.

Fear, cold and sharp, clawed at Courage's throat, threatening to suffocate him with its icy grip. Yet, amidst the tremor in his limbs and the racing of her heart, a different sound emerged. A primal, guttural cry resonated within him, this time with his heart coming out of his, still attached to his insides and beating as well. The alien screeched before running back to the ship and leaving.

"Now that's what I call pure of heart. Get it, pure of heart?" Shaggy chuckled, his voice a shaky tremor.

"Shaggy!/Raggy!" Scooby and Courage chided annoyed, as Scooby helped Courage putting his heart back on his body and not find Shaggy's pun funny.

"What good am I?" the scarecrow asked sadly.

A bunny then went up to him, the scarecrow tried to scare it but the bunny just took a straw from his knee before hopping away. "Oh."

"There, there, you're just done in. I'm sure you'll be right as rain in the morning," Muriel told him.

The first rays of dawn painted the kitchen window in a soft, pale orange glow, illuminating the scene of breakfast preparation. Muriel flipped a golden brown slice of bacon expertly with a spatula, while Shaggy, his eyes still half-closed from sleep, slathered butter onto a slice of toast. Courage's bowl, filled with a concoction of dog food liberally doused with Muriel's signature vinegar.

Where's my jelly? Can't eat my toast without my jelly," Eustace complained as he read the paper.

"Oh, we're all out," Muriel said, as she took out the jar, they use to store the jelly. "I'll just run down to the basement for another jar."

Shaggy, having deftly orchestrated the table setting and laden it with an array of delectable dishes, stood back with a sense of accomplishment. The air shimmered with the tantalizing aroma of freshly cooked delicacies, promising a feast for the senses. However, just as he relished the fruits of his labor, an unexpected sound pierced the tranquility of the room. A sharp rap at the door echoed in the kitchen, jolting him from his reverie. Shaggy's heart skipped a beat as he wondered who could be at his doorstep at this hour.

"See who it is dog," Eustace demanded to Courage.

"Coming," Courage said, as he stopped eating his breakfast and went to the door. But as he reached the door, a sudden force slammed it open, sending him tumbling head over tail onto the hardwood floor. The impact left him stunned, his ears flattened against his head.

"Courage!" Shaggy exclaimed, his voice laced with concern as he rushed over to his best friend. His eyes widened in alarm as he saw the bewildered look on Courage's face. 'Are you alright, buddy?' he asked, gently picking up the pink beagle and cradling him in his arms.

Courage's whimpers subsided as Shaggy's reassuring voice and strong arms calmed his nerves. 'I'm okay,' he reassured Shaggy, his voice wobbly but determined.

Shaggy, however, knew better than to trust those words. He knew Courage wasn't one to complain, especially when it came to his own well-being. He carefully examined his friend, searching for any sign of injury. Thankfully, Courage seemed to be unscathed, save for a little bit of dust on his pink fur.

Looking up, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage utterly flabbergasted. Before their very eyes stood a strange sight that was unexpected, what they saw was a buff and fierce looking scarecrow.

Courage, his timid heart pounding within his trembling body, let out a gasp of astonishment before collapsing into Shaggy's arms, overcome by the unexpected sight. Shaggy held his cowardly companion close, his own eyes wide with disbelief as he gazed upon the enigmatic creature before them. The scarecrow walk over to Eustace, and took the paper from him.

"HEY! That was the coupons," Eustace shouted, only to scream a second later when the scarecrow picked him up. "Let go off me. Let go-"

The scarecrow just beats up the old farmer and send him through the roof and land outside the house.

In the eerie silence of the empty kitchen, a palpable sense of unease hung in the air like an ominous specter.

Scooby's timid voice broke the tension, its quavering tone sending shivers down their spines. 'Rhat happened to the scarecrow?' he asked, his usual playful demeanor replaced by a palpable nervousness.

Beside him, Courage, trembling uncontrollably in Shaggy's trembling embrace, whispered his fervent wish, "I'm not really sure."

"Now Eustace, I always tell you to clean your mess when you're through eating,"Muriel scolded, as she walked up to the table holding a fresh jar of jelly.

Shaggy's voice trembled, a barely audible whisper, as he carefully lowered Courage to the ground. 'Like Aunt Muriel, that's not Uncle Eustace,' he stammered, his eyes wide with terror.

Scooby, his tail tucked firmly between his legs, whimpered, "Rit's the scarecrow," his voice barely above a squeak.

Courage, despite his trembling form, managed to speak, his voice sharp with fear. 'The scarecrow turned himself into a scary baddie,' he warned, his eyes glued to the menacing figure, the pink beagle transformed into a mini version of the now buff scarecrow.

In a moment of sheer terror, the scarecrow's cold, bony hands tightened their grip, sending shivers down the spines of Courage, Shaggy, and Scooby. Seizing Courage by the neck, Shaggy and Scooby fared little better, as the scarecrow's ironclad grip clutched the collar of their shirts, threatening to suffocate them. Their desperate screams echoed through the farmhouse as the buff scarecrow hurled them mercilessly through the roof. The impact sent them crashing down on the unsuspecting Eustace outside, who let out a deafening grunt as the three hapless victims landed on top of him.

Shaggy, Scooby, and Courage, their hearts pounding like a runaway locomotive, dashed back towards the house, adrenaline fueling their desperate flight. Just as they were about to burst through the front door, they stopped at the door when they saw a sign saying to keep out. The trio were about to ignore it and had inside but stopped when the windows and door were suddenly covered with metals sheets, quickly going to the side, the three saw that this happened to every window and door of the house.

"Zoinks, this is bad, really bad!" Shaggy panicked, his voice a high-pitched squeak.

"Rho knows what will happen to Ruriel," Scooby whined, his tail tucked between his legs as he whimpered. The normally playful Great Dane was consumed with worry, his usual happy-go-lucky demeanor replaced with a deep sadness.

"Protecting Muriel from danger is one thing," Courage chimed in, his voice trembling slightly, "But a bad guy protecting Muriel from danger is going too far. This is just… wrong."

"You're right, we gotta save Aunt Muriel," Shaggy affirmed, his voice regaining some strength as determination replaced panic. He puffed out his chest, a brave facade behind which fear still lurked.

"We gotta save her before something bad happens or my name isn't Dorothy Gale, and it's not," Courage declared, his voice laced with a desperation that belied his small, quivering form.

"Rhere else can we enter?" Scooby inquired anxiously, his tail quivering as he scanned the unfamiliar surroundings.

Shaggy pondered for a moment, his mind racing with possibilities. "Like, the basement, come on!" he exclaimed excitedly.

Together, Shaggy, Scooby, and Courage cautiously made their way towards the basement door, their hearts pounding with anticipation and a tinge of fear. As they creaked the door open, a wave of darkness enveloped them, swallowing their vision. They took a tentative step inside, their senses heightened as they groped for a light switch. Suddenly, a deafening roar shook the air, and a blinding torrent of fire erupted from the depths of the basement, engulfing Courage in an inferno. Scooby and Shaggy let out horrified yelps as they stumbled backward, dodging the flames by mere inches.

"Rourage, are you alright?" Scooby asked, his voice laced with genuine concern.

Courage only reply with a weak laugh.

Shaggy, Scooby and Couragehuddled at the window, their combined efforts barely managing to shift the dirt and grime obscuring the view. Laying down on the ground the trio cleaned the widow a bit to see into the basement. They heaved themselves to the ground, their limbs protesting the awkward angle. Their paws and hands scratched at the window pane, attempting to gain a clearer look. Finally, they could see into the dimly lit basement, seeing that Muriel was crying.

"Muriel!/Aunt Muriel!/Ruriel!" Shaggy, Scooby and Courage cried out in unison, their voices laced with concern and a primal fear for the gentle woman.

Suddenly, a rhythmic thudding began to fill the air, accompanied by the unmistakable sound of gruff, muttered curses. Turning their heads toward the noise, the trio saw Eustace, Muriel's grumpy yet endearing husband, stomping his foot against the basement door in a fit of anger. The air crackled with tension, leaving Shaggy, Scooby, and Courage frozen in place, unsure of what to do next.

"I want jelly!" Eustace shouted, as he continued to stomp on the doors.

Approaching Eustace, the grumpy farmer, with trepidation. Eustace, his face a mask of perpetual annoyance, turned to face them, his eyes narrowed.

Shaggy, Scooby and Courage then walked over to Eustace, who turned to look at the three.

"Stupid dogs! Fetch me jelly!" Eustace demanded, with a swift, jerky motion, he grabbed both Scooby and Courage, the poor dogs whimpering in surprise, and unceremoniously tossed them into the open maw of a rusted, mechanical dragon.

"Scooby! Courage!" Shaggy's voice cracked with worry as he rushed down the rickety steps leading to the basement, his heart pounding in his chest. Relief washed over him as he saw Scooby and Courage emerge from the dragon's tail, unharmed, their eyes wide with a mixture of fear and disbelief. "Are you dudes okay?" he stammered, his voice trembling, as he rushed to their side.

"No/Ro," Scooby and Courage replied in unison, their voices thick with exhaustion.

Shaggy watched as they stumbled, their legs wobbling like jelly. "Like, how can Uncle Eustace think about jelly at a time like this?" Shaggy asked, his voice laced with disbelief. His uncle's obsession with food was legendary, but even Shaggy couldn't believe he could be thinking about food at a time like this.

"Ro clue," Scooby shrugged, his voice barely a whisper, his eyes glazed over.

As the trio looked around, their eyes fell upon the familiar figure of Muriel striding towards them with a radiant smile.

"Oh boys, Thank heavens it's you!" Muriel said, happily.

A sense of unease dissipated among the group as they cautiously approached her.

"Are you alright Muriel?" Courage inquired, his voice trembling with concern.

Muriel's countenance softened as she tenderly embraced her beloved dog. "I'm alright, Courage," she reassured, her warm embrace providing a comforting respite from the chaos that had unfolded.

"Rome on, we gotta get you to safety," Scooby reminded his family, with a serious expression.

Shaggy nodded in agreement, his eyes wide with worry.

Courage picked up Muriel, holding her close as he gathered Shaggy and Scooby. He then hopped onto the back of the dragon.

"Get ready for blast-off," Courage warned, his voice loud and clear. He pulled the lever next to him, it took the family out of the basement and burnt Eustace.

"What about my jelly?" Eustace weakly asked.

"Who cares about the jelly? We're going somewhere safe whether you like it or not," Courage snapped, his voice tinged with annoyance.

Amidst the chaos, Courage mustered his dwindling resolve and swiftly ushered his family into the pickup truck. Igniting the engine, he pressed down on the accelerator, desperate to put distance between them and the impending threat. Moments later, the eerie roar of the monstrous truck from two days prior shattered the silence, after about a few minutes Shaggy heard deafening roar of an engine. The sound reverberated with an ominous intensity, sending a shiver down his spine. Curiosity and an inexplicable sense of dread compelled him to glance out the window, and as his eyes met the sight unfolding before him, his blood ran cold.

"Uh guys?" Shaggy whimpered, his voice barely a whisper as he kept his eyes glued to the window, his reflection a distorted caricature of terror. The speeding truck rattled and vibrated, a symphony of impending doom. His heart hammered against his ribs, a frantic rhythm that mirrored the pounding of the scarecrow's footsteps against the dirt road.

Looking back, Scooby and Courage saw the scarecrow gaining after the truck, with a bay baler.

Courage crushed under the weight of fear, let out a piercing scream. "Oh-no! He's gaining on us!" His voice quivered with terror, his small body trembling as if a storm raged within.

"Rep on it Rourage!" Scooby bellowed, his voice trembling with terror, his usually floppy ears were flattened against his head,

Courage, his eyes wide with panic, whipped the steering wheel, sending the truck careening off the road and into the swaying cornfield. The stalks whipped against the windshield, creating a deafening swish, and the truck lurched and bounced, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. The air was thick with the smell of dust and fear as the chase continued, a desperate fight for survival through the maze of rustling corn.

"MURIEL! PROTECT MURIEL!" The family heard the scarecrow shout.

Green stalks whipped past, their leaves smacking against the windows like angry ghosts. Shaggy, Scooby, Muriel and Eustace buried their faces in their hands, desperately hoping to avoid the flying corn that lashed out at them with each turn of the wheel. Courage, adrenaline coursing through his small veins, kept his eyes on the road, determined to outmaneuver the bay baler creature. But fate, it seemed, had other plans. With a bone-jarring thud, the truck slammed into the same ditch that had trapped them two days ago. The familiar crunch of metal against earth sent a wave of despair washing over the frightened trio, for they knew they were trapped once again.

"I don't have time for this," Courage exclaimed in exasperation.

Abandoning the truck, he swiftly lifted Muriel from her seat and disembarked, followed closely by Shaggy and Scooby. Together, they dashed away from the bombardment zone.

As the menacing hay baler relentlessly pursued them, they frantically dodged ditches and obstacles. However, fate played a cruel hand when Courage stumbled over a trench, sending Muriel tumbling to the other side. With the hay baler closing in, their hearts pounded with fear.

"Now what are we gonna do?!" Shaggy cried out in terror, his voice trembling. As the hay baler's deafening roar grew louder, the trio huddled together, their bodies trembling. They braced themselves for the inevitable, but to their astonishment, the hay baler abruptly veered away from them.

"Rhat's one hungry crow," Scooby commented, his voice full of a strange mixture of awe and apprehension as he watched the black bird circle the scarecrow.

"Crows! Scooby your a genius!" Courage exclaimed, his voice brimming with excitement and a twinkle in his eye.

The Great Dane, oblivious to his own brilliance, merely tilted his head in confusion. "RI am?" he questioned, before correcting himself after a beat. "RI mean of course I am."

Shaggy raised a skeptical eyebrow. "How are you gonna get the crows over to the scarecrow, little dog dude?" he asked, arms folded across his chest.

With a confident smirk, Courage responded, "Watch and learn." He then, in a surprisingly impressive imitation of a raven's call, shouted, "CAW! CAW! CAW!" The crows, drawn in by the familiar call, swooped down from the sky, their dark wings beating a rhythm against the wind, and gathered around the scarecrow.

"OH NO! NOT THE CROWS!" the scarecrow shouted in fear, as the crows started to attack him, taking him with them towards the truck.

"WHAT!?" Eustace shouted, before screaming, as the hay baler started to chase him.

"Oh, my!" Muriel gasped at seeing the crows attack the scarecrow, "Poor thing. Not much of a scarecrow is he?"

Courage, ever the valiant and protective canine, immediately sprang into action upon hearing Muriel's distress. 'I got it,' he declared resolutely, his determined voice echoing through the air. With a swift turn, he bounded towards the farm truck parked nearby.

As Courage climbed onto the driver's seat With a mighty honk of the horn, Courage sent a deafening blast into the air that reverberated across the farm.

Startled by the sudden noise, the crows scattered in all directions, their relentless assault brought to an abrupt end. Courage's intervention had saved the scarecrow from further damage. The once-proud figure now stood as a mangled reminder of the crows' vicious attack.

"My father was a scary scarecrow, and his father, and his Aunt Hilda," the scarecrow told Shaggy and Scooby as Muriel kneeled down and placed his head on her lap. "Oh, but me, I'm a worthless bale of... nothing."

"Just because you come from a scary family, doesn't mean you have to be scary too," Muriel told him.

"Aunt Muriel is right scare-dude everyone's best at something," Shaggy chimed in.

Scooby, ever the practical one, nodded his furry head in agreement,"Rut no one's best at everything."

"But what else is there for the likes of me?" the scarecrow asked.

"Maybe you got other talents," Muriel answered.

Courage then had an idea, his eyes wide with excitement "I know," he exclaimed, tugging at Muriel's dress.

The family jostled along on the hay ride, the scent of hay and dust filling their nostrils. It was a delightful, if somewhat bumpy, experience. The children giggled, pointing at passing attractions, while the parents chatted amongst themselves in a relaxed, holiday mood. The reason for the unexpected, yet very welcome, hay ride? Well, it was all thanks to Courage, the family's inventive, if slightly eccentric, patriarch. Apparently, Courage had a brilliant idea to not only make the fair's scarecrow the driver for the hay ride, but also incorporate it into other events. The scarecrow, with its straw-stuffed body and cheerful, painted face, had become a bit of a local celebrity, attracting smiles from both children and adults.

"Don't you just love a hayride, boys?" Muriel asked.

Courage, his pink fur ruffled by the wind, nodded enthusiastically, his mouth full of pink cotton candy. "Mmm-hmm," he mumbled, a satisfied sigh escaping his small frame.

Scooby echoed his sentiment, his eyes wide with delight as he munched on his own sugary treat, "RI do," he mumbled, his tail wagging with unbridled joy.

Shaggy, ever the glutton for all things sugary and sweet, simply shrugged and echoed, "Like, who doesn't?" as he continued to devour his cotton candy, his face smeared with pink sweetness.

The scarecrow laughed, before focusing back on driving.

"GET OFF! GET OFF! HEY! HEY!" Eustace shouted, trapped in a hay bale.

With a mischievous grin spread across his face, Shaggy couldn't resist poking fun at his seemingly captive companion. "Enjoying the ride, Uncle Eustace?" he teased, his voice dripping with a playful sarcasm that only served to ignite Eustace's ire further.

Eustace just grumbled in annoyance.

Courage couldn't help but snicker, "Looks like he's gonna be a bit stuck for a while," his high-pitched voice carrying a hint of amusement.

Scooby chimed in with an enthusiastic, "Rou said it, Rourage!" before howling with delight, his signature "Scooby-Dooby-Doo!"
