It was a whimsical day filled with laughter and playful antics, Shaggy and Scooby donned in ragged pirate attire with black eye patches and oversized hats, twirled around the room, dancing energetically to the rhythm of Courage who was resolutely playing the accordion while also dressed as a swashbuckling pirate, complete with a bandana and an eye patch. The room buzzed with excitement as the trio reveled in the air thick with joyous music.
"Ahoy, me maties! Twelve bells mean it's time for grub in the galley!" Muriel called out as she entered the room carrying a large tray filled with a variety of sea food.
The mere sight of the feasts sent Courage into a flurry: he tossed aside his accordion, shed his costume with a swift tug, and scampered to the table with exuberant enthusiasm. "Yay!" he cheered, his appetite driving him forward.
Meanwhile, Shaggy, eyes sparkling with excitement, hurried to join his loyal companion, "Like, I can almost taste the shrimp already, Scoob!" he exclaimed, an eager grin plastered on his face.
Scooby matching the excitement in Shaggy's voice with his own playful pirate accent, quickly chimed in, "Righto, matey! Time for some ship's fare!"
"Lousy, stinking fish stink," Eustace complained as he got up from his chair before sitting down at the table.
"Aye, it's me first mate," Muriel said as she placed the tray on the table.
"Just cut the fancy talk, and let's get to eating! And I ain't wearing no bib neither because I ain't no baby," Eustace argued.
Scooby, rolling his eyes dramatically, couldn't help but think. Rypocrite. Fully aware of Eustace's past habit of wearing bibs himself when the food got too messy.
"You might not care much, but Courage, Shaggy, and Scooby, and I are enjoying our new Seafood Sunday luncheon, aren't we, boys?" Muriel said as she put a bib on herself before doing the same for Courage.
"Uh-huh," Courage nodded enthusiastically.
"Rep," Scooby added, who was already visually strategizing how to tackle his first crab leg.
"Like, totally Aunt Muriel. Reminds us of the time Fred's parents took us on a cruise," Shaggy mused aloud, nostalgia dancing in his eyes as he prepared to feast.
As they all settled around the table—Shaggy snatching shrimp, Scooby wrestling with crab legs, Courage reveling in the clams, Muriel deftly skewering fish with her hook, and Eustace, grimacing, faced off against a large, formidable lobster.
"Avast there, matey! I think you're missing a leg!" Shaggy teased, imitating a pirate's voice and laughing heartily.
"Rargh, you're right! I'll make sure I don't steal your loot!" Scooby shot back with a goofy grin, his own pirate imitations sending waves of laughter through the room.
Amidst the laughter and playful pirate role-play, Courage chimed in, claiming to have an abundance of clams, declaring with exaggerated cheer, "Har har! I've got more clams than I know what to do with!"
Each lighthearted quip added to the joyous atmosphere as they all savored the adventure of their pirate-themed lunch, overflowing with camaraderie.
"Eustace, don't you think the seafaring atmosphere makes the food taste better?" Muriel asked before using the hook on her hand to grab the fish before biting the head off.
"Makes me wanna puke in the ocean,"Eustace answered before taking a bite out of his food.
All was well until Shaggy, Scooby, and Courage caught sight of a large, green figure darting past the window, disappearing as quickly as it had come.
"Scooby, little Courage guy, did you see that?" Shaggy whispered nervously, his eyes wide.
"Y-Yes!" Courage managed to stammer, trembling all over as he futilely tried to open a clam with a very inappropriate knife.
"I was afraid you'd say that…" Shaggy whimpered.
The tension in the air rose as Scooby, nervously peeking through the window, asked, "Rhat do you think it was?"
Just then, the green figure reappeared at the front of the house, this time more pronounced and ominous before vanishing once again.
"Zoinks!" Shaggy shrieked, barely able to keep his shrimp from falling apart in his trembling hands.
"Rikes!" Scooby echoed, jumping back as if something had bitten him.
In the chaos, Courage let out a terrified screech that quickly morphed into a pained moan when he noticed the clam he had been trying to open had clamped down onto his nose.
"Boys, what's wrong?" Muriel asked worried.
"We… we saw something out there…" Shaggy replied, pointing at the window with a trembling finger, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Reah, a big, green…" Scooby interjected, his voice trembling.
"Scary… thing!" Courage managed to finish, fear evident in his shaking limbs.
Eustace and Muriel shared a glance before turning to the window, but found nothing in response to the trio's ruckus.
"Shut up! Will ya!" Eustace yelled while tossing a fish at Courage.
The fish smacked Courage on the head, causing him to whimper in response.
"Dude! Not cool!" Shaggy rebuked, irritation flashing across his features.
"Romeone's in a bad mood," Scooby whispered to Shaggy, but the words seemed to bounce off his friend who was too anxious to process.
"He's always in a bad mood," Shaggy replied, rolling his eyes as he glanced back at Courage, who was still struggling to free himself from the clam.
"Guys, A little help?" Courage squeaked from behind the cage of his own fearful imagination, tugging at the clam as its grip tightened around his nose.
"RI'll get it…" Scooby volunteered, before yanking the clam off in a quick motion.
With a tug, the clam went flying out of his grip, hurtling through the air until it unexpectedly bonked Eustace on the head.
"You dumb dog!" Eustace yelled.
Ignoring the outburst, Scooby checked on Courage, concern etched on his canine face.
"Thanks, Scooby," Courage said, finally able to rub his sore nose, relief washing over him.
"Ro problem, Rourage," Scooby smiled back, grateful to have been able to help in some small way.
But just then, the atmosphere shifted dramatically when a terrifying sight emerged from outside the monstrous silhouette of a DRAGON with shimmering scales loomed large through the window, poking its head inside, intent and hungry.
Eustace ducked just in time, narrowly avoiding becoming a dragon snack as Shaggy and Scooby gasped in horror, their screams echoing through the nauseating tension in the room.
Courage, eyes bulging out of their sockets in a blend of shock and panic, let out a bloodcurdling shriek that was quickly muffled by the clams he'd been attempting to open.
The cowardly trio watched as the dragon, now fully inside, clumsily tried to snag one of them in its jaws.
"Dragon!/Ragon!" they yelled in unison, their voices trembling with fear, their situation morphing from comedic chaos to terrifying reality.
Courage instinctively grabbed Muriel's hand, pulling her away just as the dragon crashed through the table, sending a completely oblivious Eustace flying back against the wall with a bewildered expression.
"Mmm! Good lobster," Eustace said before taking another bite.
"Aunt Muriel, like, there's a dragon! It's trying to eat us!" Shaggy yelled, his voice cracking under the weight of impending doom.
"Reah! RA big green one!" Scooby echoed, pantomiming a dragon to emphasize their point as Courage's quivering frame eyed the creature with palpable desperation.
"We gotta get outta here!" Courage screamed in a panic, his instincts kicking into overdrive.
"A sailor's dance, a grand idea. And you do it so well," Muriel said, as she begin to dance.
"Like, she's not listening again!" Shaggy exclaimed, frustration and fear blending in his voice.
"We need to barricade the window, Shaggy! Scooby, help me!" Courage shouted, determination surging through him.
Summoning their courage, Shaggy and Scooby rallied to Courage's side, hastily nailing the table to the window in a flimsy yet desperate attempt to fortify their defenses.
"Rhere. Row no dragons can get in!" Scooby declared, puffing for breath.
"Oh, I get it boys, the ship sprung a leak and you're fixing it. Good work maties," Muriel said still dancing.
"But like, Aunt Muriel, there's a dragon-" Shaggy's plea was drowned out by another terrifying roar as the dragon, fed up with their antics, shattered the barricade in one swift blow, sending shards of wood flying.
As if on cue, the bucket from their seafood tray landed squarely on Muriel's head.
"Food!" the dragon said excitedly.
"What? Go get your own grub," Eustace said through a full mouth while hoarding all the food that was on the table.
"It's talking about us, dude!" Shaggy screeched, his voice cracking with fear as they collectively faced the impending doom.
In an unpredictable flash, the dragon snatched Eustace and SWALLOWED HIM WHOLE, plunging the room into a panic as Shaggy, Scooby, and Courage let out screams of terror. Courage's terror reached a peak, his body flinging apart into limbs as he scrambled to uphold his composure in the face of calamity.
"Re ate Rustace!" Scooby cried, his voice choked with horror.
"Boys, where did Eustace go?" Muriel asked.
Shaggy finally pulled the seafood bucket off Muriel's head, his heart pounding in his chest.
"I just got ate!" Eustace shouted from inside the dragon.
"Uncle Eustace is in the dragon's stomach!" Shaggy wailed, the panic creeping deeper.
"OH MY! Eustace, are you in there?" Muriel exclaimed, poking the dragon's stomach.
The dragon nodded.
"Of, course I'm in here," Eustace bellowed from inside the dragon. "Now get me out!"
"Food," the dragon said while looking at Shaggy and Muriel.
Shaggy and Muriel screamed in unison, the urgency of their situation hitting home.
"Run!" Courage yelled, voice quivering with fear.
In a flurry of terror, Courage scooped up Muriel, while Scooby grabbed Shaggy's hand, and they scrambled away just in the nick of time as the dragon lunged for them, jaws snapping shut.
They barreled out of the back door of the house, hearts pounding with adrenaline, desperately hoping to outpace the creature as it lunged toward them, its jaws snapping shut with a resounding clap just as they escaped its reach. Glancing back, Scooby noticed the dragon's ungainly movements as it struggled to chase them: it wasn't that the creature lacked speed but rather that its massive girth seemed ill-suited for the ground, causing it to stumble and flail like an oversized puppy trying to navigate unfamiliar terrain.
Courage quickly made the decision to climb the windmill, lifting Muriel onto his head before hurriedly navigating upwards, with Shaggy and Scooby scrambling in tow. The wind whipped through their fur and clothes as they reached the top, but the looming shadow of the dragon quickly caught up, its attempts to leap and reach them met with failure as it tumbled back to the ground in dismay.
"Rokay, I think we're safe up here," Scooby panted, looking down at the dragon as it pouted, unable to comprehend its own lack of flight.
"Zoinks, what's he doing?" Shaggy asked, utterly perplexed as they watched the dragon's futile efforts.
"Boys, I think the dragon's sad because he can't get to us," Muriel answered.
Shaggy, however, was less optimistic, recalling past escapades where he had narrowly escaped being turned into a dragon's dinner, still haunted by his last encounter with a giant worm. "Good, because I'd rather not be on tonight's menu! I don't wanna get eaten again," he shuddered, recalling the ghastly experience.
"Sorry, Mister Dragon, but we don't want to be eaten!" Muriel called out to it.
Shaggy chimed in urgently, "Like, we're not on the menu!"
Scooby added his own affirmation, "Reah, not on the menu!"
"I would eat you if I could fly. Everyone in my family is a great flyer. Why, oh why can't I fly?" the dragon asked in dismay, "If only I knew. If only I knew."
"Aw, poor dragon," Muriel said sadly.
"Thank you. You're very nice. Wish I didn't have to eat you, but it's the way I am! Besides, I've eaten awful food and I can do it again," the dragon said before biting on the windmill and taking out the base.
Panic ensued as the structure wobbled, and the four screamed, plummeting to the ground with cries of dismay. As Shaggy, Scooby, and Courage groaned in pain.
"Oh, man!" Shaggy groaned, wincing as he landed.
"Ry bones!" Scooby moaned, nursing his scraped paws.
Shaggy, Scooby, and Courage groaned as they regrouped, momentarily dazed by the fall. As they slowly lifted their heads, they were met with the dragon's expectant gaze, the enormity of its head encroaching on them, amplifying their collective dread.
This is bad!" Courage squeaked, feeling the dread settle in his bones.
"That's it! If you eat me, I'm just gonna have to stop feeling sorry for you!" Muriel told the dragon.
Courage jumped in front of her protectively, pleading with the dragon, "Please, Mr. Dragon, have mercy!" His voice quivered as he stood between Muriel and the impending doom, heart pounding in his chest.
"Like, don't eat us! We don't want to be your lunch! We're not tasty!" Shaggy shouted desperately, arms waving wildly to emphasize his point.
"Reah, we're not delicious! RI'm just a big ball of fur!" Scooby pleaded, desperately trying to dissuade the ravenous creature.
"It's bad enough I can't fly, now, you want me to starve!?" the dragon argued.
"Res!" Scooby interjected, his voice frantically rising in pitch a futile effort to bargain with the creature.
"That's not realistic. If dog fur didn't give me a rash, I'd eat you and your friend there," dragon told him and Courage.
Relief washed over Scooby momentarily as he exclaimed, "Rhew, we're safe!"
But Shaggy's worry only intensified, "But, but… like Scoob, he'll still eat Aunt Muriel and me!"
"Roh, right!" Scooby exclaimed, panic creeping back into his voice.
Courage, determined to avert disaster, licked Muriel to demonstrate her dreadful taste, "Ew! See, Muriel tastes awful," he said, attempting to prove a point.
"Like, I taste terrible, trust me. Just... Just don't eat me," Shaggy chimed in, practically pleading as he recalled the gruesome fate that loomed before them.
"Reah, he's right. Rou'd be very disappointed," Scooby added, trying to emphasize their non-edibility in a last-minute charm offensive.
"I don't care if she's radioactive or if you taste horrible! I've eaten worse," the dragon countered.
Gasping at the dragon's stubbornness, Courage suddenly had an idea, hopping onto Muriel's head only to discover an expiration sticker hidden beneath her hair. "Look!" he cried out as he revealed the label.
"Expires September 8, 1894," the dragon read the expiration date.
Trying to amplify their chances of survival, Shaggy, desperation rising in his tone, insisted, "Like, yeah, I'm also all bones! I'm too chewy. I'm not even worth the effort!"
Scooby quickly jumped in, "Reah, he's right! Rou'd get a mouthful of hard chewing bones!"
"I'm bored with these games! I'll eat them now," the dragon said, not in a mood.
At this proclamation, panic erupted: Muriel screamed and covered her head, while Shaggy instinctively shielded her with his own body before letting out a blood-curdling scream as the dragon's gaping maw opened wide, ready to swallow them whole.
"Wait!/Rait!" Scooby and Courage cried out together, desperately trying to halt the impending doom.
"What now?" the dragon asked irritated.
Courage, with a surge of courage despite the odds, suggested, "What if we help you discover why you can't fly?"
Nodding vigorously, Scooby added, "Rif only if you don't eat Raggy and Ruriel."
"You two will help me find out why I can't fly if I don't eat them?" The dragon asked.
"Yes!/Res!" Scooby and Courage both exclaimed.'
"And I'll help too," Shaggy offered, stepping forward with unexpected bravery.
"You'll help these dogs, even when I tried to eat you?" the dragon asked, surprised.
Shaggy, bound by his camaraderie, insisted, "Yeah, man."
"And while you're at it, get me out of here!" Eustace shouted from inside the dragon.
"Don't worry, Uncle Eustace. We'll get you out," Shaggy shouted back, determination surging through him in the face of fear.
"You better nephew. I want to get out and I want it to happen now!" Eustace shouted from inside of the dragon.
Courage sighed, annoyance flickering at Eustace's unrelenting complaints, "Let's get started shall we?"
Shaggy, Scooby and Courage decided to take their efforts to the roof of the barn where they could put their first test into action to help the dragon fly.
"Are you ready, Mr. Dragon!?" Courage called out, his voice filled with a mix of excitement and apprehension.
"Ready," the dragon answered.
"Go! Go! Go!" Courage shouted, waving a racing flag he had somehow procured in the chaos.
With a great effort, the dragon lurched forward, its massive body running awkwardly across the roof like an oversized lizard with a penchant for clumsiness. Suddenly, however, disaster struck as he crashed into the edge, sending Shaggy, Scooby, and Courage tumbling to the ground in a heap of limbs and confusion. As the dust settled, the trio slowly picked themselves up, Courage laughing in a dazed stupor while Shaggy and Scooby groaned. Meanwhile, the dragon flailed its wings, desperately trying to find its balance.
"Check it out dudes, he's flying! He's…" Shaggy's voice trailed off as he pointed to the sky, his newfound excitement quickly turning into alarm, "…falling!"
The dragon, donning a bewildered expression, managed a wobbly glide but inevitably plummeted back down with a resounding crash, landing right atop the trio in a clumsy tangle.
Moments later, Courage scuttled back into the barn, a determined look on his face as he retrieved a measuring instrument, meticulously taking measurements of the dragon's left ear, completely unfazed by the previous mishap.
"Man, if Velma were here, Scooby, she would know why this dragon won't fly," Shaggy mused, glancing at the Great Dane, a hint of desperation in his voice.
Scooby jumped in with a playful grin, "Relma? Rou been talking about Relma a lot lately, Raggy. Rou like her?"
This caught Shaggy off guard, cuing an immediate blush that turned his cheeks as red as a ripe tomato. "No! No way! It's just, she's… SMART. That's all!" he protested, but the embarrassment was palpable.
The baloney of the situation was clear to Scooby, who raised an eyebrow and smirked, saying, "Reah, right. Rince when, Raggy?"
With his face still flushed, Shaggy sheepishly admitted, "Ever since the pumpkin Halloween incident…" rubbing the back of his neck, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Raw, that's so sweet!" Scooby squealed, delighting in his friend's rare admission of affection.
"Like, shut up, Scoob! You gotta promise not to tell anyone!" Shaggy begged, his eyes wide with concern.
"Rour secret's safe with me!" Scooby giggled, trying to suppress his laughter.
With their playful exchange still echoing in the barn, Courage wrapped up his measurements and scribbled notes down on his clipboard. With a mix of determination and hope, he turned to his friends, saying, "I hope this works," as he approached a giant fan. He flipped the switch, and with a swift whoosh of air, the dragon was lifted joyously into the air by a giant tarp.
"Whee! Whee!" the dragon exclaimed happily as he was lifted into the air by a giant tarp holding him up.
"Okay, now try without the tarp," Courage instructed, excitement bubbling over as he pulled a lever to release the dragon into the wild blue yonder.
For a moment, all was right with the world as the dragon finally soared up, taking flight after what felt like an eternity.
"Rall right! Re did it!" Scooby cheered in excitement.
"Go, Dragon Dude, Go!" Shaggy shouted, pride swelling within him.
But just as quickly as their cheers erupted, horror ensued; the sheer force of the fan sent the dragon blasting through the back of the barn and far away, leaving an empty silence in its wake.
Courage sighed, making a note, "Note to self: fan too strong," as he scribbled furiously on his clipboard, embodying the essence of a frenzied inventor caught between excitement and chaos.
"Zoinks! Like, if we don't figure this out soon, Aunt Muriel and I are gonna be on the menu!" Shaggy fretted, his stomach twisting with anxiety.
Sensing the looming panic, Scooby offered his comforting touch on Shaggy's shoulder, reassuringly saying, "Ron't worry, Raggy. Re'll figure it out!"
Courage though shivering with trepidation, mustered up some confidence, asserting, "Yeah! We'll find a solution!"
Soon, Courage was poring over his clipboard, taking notes and checking off items methodically as Shaggy, Scooby, and the dragon trailed behind, looking curiously at the chaotic assortment of gadgets and gizmos.
"This is it, guys," Courage said confidently, "The physics are all here. This time, the dragon's gonna fly! Behold," he declared before leading them to a grand display: a giant lawn chair fitted with ten colorful balloons, all precariously balanced with a single brick resting atop.
"Roh boy, a birthday party!" Scooby exclaimed, his excitement palpable as his eyes lit up at the sight, momentarily forgetting about their pressing predicament.
Courage chuckled softly at Scooby's simplistic enthusiasm, his heart beating fast at the thought of what lay ahead. "No, Scoob. This is the Bagge Flyer Mark Three," he explained, puffing with pride as he walked over to the chair and carefully lifted the brick, the so-called ballast, that would determine the fate of his aerial adventure. "All you do is remove the brick, or ballast, and…" Courage started, but just as he was gaining momentum, he turned around to find that his prized invention had mysteriously vanished. "Huh?" he uttered in confusion, a frown creeping across his face.
The group, wide-eyed and curious, looked skyward, only to behold the chair, now buoyed by the balloons, floating away serenely into the sky.
A collective sigh escaped Courage's lips as he slumped over in defeat. "Well, back to the drawing board," he mumbled, disheartened yet somehow accustomed to his quirky inventions taking strange turns.
"Can we have the cake now?" Shaggy asked, utterly oblivious to the chaotic scene, his thoughts still lingering on the sweet, sugary delights that could surely turn around their day.
"Reah, cake?" Scooby added, his face lighting up with a sudden jolt of excitement as he began to sing, "Rappy, happy birthday to you!"
The spontaneous chorus was met with exasperation from both Courage and the dragon, who face-palmed in disbelief.
Later, in a burst of inspiration, Shaggy decided to strap a helmet outfitted with a spinning fan onto the dragon, declaring with unshakeable confidence, "Like, this should do the trick!"
Scooby gave a rambunctious cheer, yelling out "Rontact!"
With a deep breath, Courage pressed the on button on the remote, igniting the fan into a spinning whirl of mechanical energy.
As the fan whirred to life, it began to lift the dragon gently off the ground, eliciting shouts of joy from those around him.
"Whee!" the dragon shouted as he tried to do a trick.
However, the excitement turned to chaos when, rather abruptly, the helmet's fan sputtered and ceased functioning, sending the dragon plummeting toward the earth in a moment of sheer panic.
"Zoinks, Incoming!" Shaggy yelled, his reflexes kicking in as he and Scooby dove behind a nearby rock, taking cover from the oncoming disaster.
Courage, much to his dismay, was not so fortunate. The ground shook beneath the weight of the dragon's crash, dust and debris erupting around them, leaving Courage's skeleton-like frame standing amid the chaos, a comical snapshot of defeat.
"Okay, so maybe a bit more research needed. Flying helmet… not ideal…" he muttered, scribbling hurried notes on his board, determined to learn from yet another mishap.
Thirty minutes later, the dragon was a pitiful sight, wrapped in bandages and casts, bemoaning his fate with a heavy heart.
"This is not good for my self-esteem," the dragon said before wincing in pain.
"So, boys, what's the good word?" Muriel asked walking up to the cowardly trio and the dragon.
"Still don't know why I can't fly. Your boy and dogs can't tell me. Gonna have to eat you and your nephew. Sorry," the dragon answered before letting out a roar.
Courage screamed in terror, illustrating every ounce of panic coursing through him, while Scooby and Shaggy echoed his sentiment, their eyes wide with dread.
"Rikes!" Scooby yelled in horror, realizing the menace they were dealing with, how could they have been so careless?
"Zoinks!" Shaggy screamed, glancing left and right as if searching for an escape route.
However, even amidst the chaos, Courage found a surge of bravery, standing defiantly in front of Muriel and Shaggy, declaring, "NO! We won't let you!" His tone was firm, fueled by a protective instinct that surged in his tiny frame.
Scooby, rallying alongside Courage, jumped in with determination, "Reah! Rif you wanna eat Ruriel and my Raggy, you're gonna have to get through us first!"
Though fear lingered in their hearts, they both knew they couldn't back down now.
"Very well, then," the dragon replied, "I'll have to eat you dogs as well! Rash or no rash!"
At that moment, Scooby and Shaggy exchanged panicked glances, fear solidifying in their stares as Scooby muttered, "Rops," suddenly aware of the severity of the situation.
"RUN FOR IT!" Courage shouted, seizing Muriel and pulling her away, desperate to shield her from the creature's appetite.
Shaggy, Scooby, and Courage got into a frantic dash, their hearts pounding in unison with the thundering footsteps of the flightless dragon hot on their tails. They raced through the winding alleys of Nowhere, a town that was more a collection of shadows than a bustling metropolis, where even the faintest glimmers of hope seemed to flicker.
As they weaved between dilapidated buildings and narrowly dodged the grasp of looming silhouettes, desperation fueled their speed. The trio finally took to the rooftops, where the danger of being caught seemed to lessen, or so they thought, allowing them to overlook the chaos of the streets below.
However, the respite was short-lived. After thirty exhausting minutes of rooftop acrobatics, they stumbled into the looming trees of the forest, a sea of green that promised both sanctuary and peril. Knowing it was far too dangerous to risk being snagged at ground level, they grabbed vines and swung, adrenaline surging as they flew through the branches, even as the dragon's relentless pursuit sent shivers down their spines. The close calls were terrifying and real: the dragon's jaws snapped mere inches from their tails, instilling a shriek of panic that echoed through the verdant expanse.
"Like, the dragon's getting closer!" Shaggy yelped, panic mingling with the wind as they sprinted across the treetop pathways.
"Boys! Watch out!" Muriel exclaimed, her voice laced with urgency. "We're running out of tree!"
The realization sent icy dread coursing through them. Just as they skidded to a halt, hearts at their throats, a sense of dread settled upon them: the edge of the branches loomed too close.
Courage's voice quivered in terror, "We're at the edge of the trees! What do we do now?" His wide, expressive eyes darted around frantically.
"Ron't ask me, I don't remember being eaten alive on a Sunday!" Scooby whimpered, burying his face deep into his paws, wishing he could dissolve into the branches above.
"I'm too young to be digested!" Courage lamented, each word infused with raw panic as his ears drooped.
"Zoinks, we're done for!" Shaggy's pitch rose, underscoring the collective dread seeping into their minds.
"Courage, Shaggy, Scooby, the lake!" Muriel suggested, her voice firm despite the fear in her eyes, "If he can't fly, maybe he can't swim!"
Shaggy swallowed hard, the weight of incredulity and desperation hanging heavy in the air, "Like, got nothing to lose, dudes!"
With determination, Scooby rallied beside him, "Ret's do it!"
"Hang on, guys!" Courage howled, both frightened and fiercely protective of his companions.
With a united breath, they leaped from their precarious height into the cool embrace of the lake below, surfacing gasping for breath, their eyes wide as they watched the dragon gingerly test the water with a scaled foot before recoiling, its expression a mix of confusion and disdain.
"Dragons just don't like water I guess," Muriel observed.
However, the moment of relief was short-lived as a larger shadow loomed ominously above them.
A large shadow loomed overhead, casting an ominous darkness over the once sunlit shore, and Courage turned sharply, his heart racing as fear gripped him. "Except for that one!" he whimpered, his voice trembling as dread washed over him.
Muriel, along with Shaggy and Scooby, followed Courage's terrified gaze, their collective scream piercing the air as they spotted another DRAGON this one eerily submerged, its formidable form partially concealed beneath the surface.
"Like don't eat us Mr. Dragon dude!" Shaggy cried, voice trembling with urgency.
"Reah, we're not tasty," Scooby echoed meekly, hoping against hope that the creature would show mercy.
"Hey, easy guys. I ain't gonna hurt you," the dragon said, its voice surprisingly friendly.
"You're not?" Shaggy asked, still quivering with uncertainty but momentarily captivated by the dragon's demeanor.
"Of course not," the dragon chuckled. "Want some fish fries? Fishsicle? Fish is so good."
Shaggy's stomach grumbled loudly in response, "Oh boy, after everything we've been through today, we could use some food."
"Reah, food sounds good," Scooby agreed, his tail wagging slowly in anticipation.
"I didn't know there were different kinds of dragons," Muriel remarked, bewildered.
"Me neither," Shaggy echoed, still trying to process the bizarre situation.
"So glad I was born a water dragon and not one of those flying dragons that eat people," the dragon said, a hint of pride in his voice.
"Rhat explains why that Ragon can't fly," Scooby chimed in, trying hard to rationalize the differences between the two.
Courage, seizing the moment, suddenly brightened up with an idea, "Hey, Mister Dragon! Can I borrow the fishsicle?" he asked eagerly.
The dragon, oblivious to Courage's machinations, chuckled and handed him the frozen fish treat. "Sure, little fella. Go on."
Courage swam toward the first dragon still lounging on the shore, presenting the fishsicle with hopeful eyes. "Here, try this instead," he said.
"Don't eat fish, only people. All flying dragons eat people, even the ones that can't fly," the dragon grumbled.
"Please?!" Courage insisted, licking the fishsicle enticingly, "How'd you know you don't like it if you haven't tried it?"
At that moment, Shaggy and Scooby emerged from the water, munching on hot, crispy fish fries with palpable delight.
"Come on, man," Shaggy said, raising a fry in the air, "These fish fries are yummy."
Scooby, mouth full, added, "Rand tasty."
"Oh, okay. But just a bite." The dragon took a bite of the fishsicle, his eyes widening in surprise. "Say, this is good! Much better than people, then he ate the fish fries, "It's an absolute good. Got any more?"
The joy in Courage's heart swelled, and he nodded eagerly, "Mmm-hmm."
"Like, totally," Shaggy confirmed, but then his expression turned to shock when he realized his container was empty. "Hey!" he exclaimed, glaring at Scooby, who let out a belch.
"Rexcuse me," Scooby said, a sheepish grin creeping across his face.
Giggles erupted from Courage as he teased, "Oh Scooby. Don't worry, there's more where that came from. Follow us," he beckoned to the dragon.
"Compromises, compromises," the dragon said, his eyes gleaming with anticipation. "But I must have more fish!"
With that, the dragon dove into the lake, tail splashing water everywhere as he began to follow Scooby and Courage.
"Rows the water?" Scooby asked innocently, his eyes wide with wonder.
"Hmm, water feels good," the dragon muttered, looking at his hands. "Hey! These aren't wings. They're fins."
"William? It's you! My long-lost brother!" the second dragon boomed, a wave of affection in his voice.
"Brother!?/Rother?!" Shaggy, Scooby, and Courage exclaimed simultaneously.
"Tell me, brother, I'm not a flying dragon, am I?" William asked, his voice filled with a hint of desperation.
"No, you're a water dragon," the second dragon said, relief washing over him. "Mom and Pop lost you during the storm. You must have been adopted by those lying dragons."
"The dogs and the boy were right," William said, shaking his head. "No wonder why I always hated the taste of people. Which reminds me..."
William opened a hatch on his stomach, releasing a very disgruntled Eustace.
"Well, it's about time," Eustace grumbled, adjusting his spectacles.
"I'm sorry for trying to eat you and your aunt," Willam apologized.
"Don't worry about it, Dragon Dude. It's all water under a bridge," Shaggy smiled, feeling the tension lift.
"Well, I think this is the perfect place to finish up our seafood Sunday," Muriel said, her voice full of cheer.
Shaggy and Scooby leaned into their feast of various fish dishes, relishing every bite.
But their peaceful gathering was shattered by a thunderous roar overhead as a massive red dragon swooped down, its glittering scales catching the sunlight like armor, and effortlessly snatched Eustace from the water before soaring off into the sky.
Courage erupted into laughter, eyes wide as he beheld the scene. Shaggy and Scooby joined him, their mirth echoing across the lake as they returned to their snacks.
"Looks like someone's gone fly fishing," Shaggy chuckled, shaking his head in disbelief.
"Reah. Scooby-Dooby-Doo!" Scooby shouted joyously, his voice radiating with the relief of a good meal and the comfort of being safe, while the two dragons shared a newfound bond over their peculiar family reunion.
