Chapter 30: It's Time to Put an End to This: Part Two

Disclaimer: I don't own Inuyasha.

A/N: I'm going to be making this story into a manga that I will be posting on tumblr! I will be starting this project here soon, so be on the look-out for it! My tumblr username is myimmortalsoul-blog, go give me a follow!

I'm so sorry if the fight scene seems to go by too quickly, I tried to put as much detail into it as possible, but I am not good with fight scenes. I'm trying to get better at writing them and that's why I keep writing them...

"Let's get this over with." Inuyasha growled before sneaking across the yard with the others following close behind. Reaching the house Inuyasha and the others pressed their backs up against the side of the house waiting and listening for any indication that they had been seen.

Inuyasha peeked around the corner to make sure the coast was clear. "Look, there's a patch of Byakuya's flowers. You must not step in them, if you do, you'll be trapped in his dream world."

Everyone, besides Mioku and Sango since they already knew what to look out for, took a turn looking at the flower patch so they would know what to avoid were they to come across more flowers on their mission.

"Thought I heard something over here." A voice sounded behind them as Izayoi was taking her turn to take a peek at the flower patch.

They all turned to see a woman with purple hair and pink eyes, she had on a black kimono with a white obi tied around her waist.

"Airi!" Inuyasha growled.

"So nice of you to join us on our vacation." Airi spoke in a way that made it seem like she didn't mean it at all. "I'm very sorry, but I can't let you go any further than this. Prepare to die!"

"Kagome," Inuyasha yelled, not looking away from the demon standing in front of him, "you and your group go on ahead, we'll take care of Airi!"

"Be careful!" Kagome demanded before her, Sango, Izayoi and Sesshomaru ran off to complete their part of the mission. 'Remember, you promised to come back to me.' She thought as she stole one more glance at Inuyasha before turning around and moving forward with their plan.

Before anyone could do anything, the air around them had turned bone chillingly cold.

"Wh-what the f-fuck i-is t-this!?" Leo asked as his teeth chattered and he wrapped his arms around himself to retain his warmth.

"A-Airi controls the w-weather." Miroku answered as snowflakes started to fall.

"Fun fact: hypothermia can set in, in less than five minutes." Airi informed the group in front of her as she watched their bodies start to go into shock from the extreme cold around them. "I wonder, can you defeat me before you die?"

"D-dammit!" Leo hissed through his teeth as he tried to make his numb limbs respond to his commands. "I-I can't move!"

"Airi!" Inuyasha growled as he tried to move himself, however, he was just as frozen as the rest of him. "If you stop now, I'll let you go free!"

Lie, but he needed to say something, anything that might get through to her that would make her stop.

Airi didn't answer Inuyasha, she just cackled evilly as she made the air around them even colder.

Toga, having spent some time in severe coldness for some time in the past, was more used to this type of frostbitten weather. Though, it still took him a bit for his muscles to move, but when they did, he slid Tetsaiga out of its sheath.

Airi let out an amused laugh as she eyed the old sword. "Oh? You can still move, well, that's no matter. However, what are you going to do with that old rusty sword?" She asked with another chuckle. "That thing doesn't look like it could even cut wet paper."

"You'd be surprised what this 'old rusty sword' can really do." Toga replied smugly before gripping the hilt of the sword tighter as he leaked his demonic power into the sword making it transform into a huge fang like sword.

Sensing danger from the fang, Airi made the snow fall harder and made the wind pick up, sending hard gusts of wind and snow directly at the people in front of her.

"F-f-f-fuck." Leo stuttered as both fell to their knees before curling in on themselves to try to stay as warm as possible.

Toga, barely able to feel his limbs anymore, forced himself to stay standing and lifted his arms above his head before yelling 'wind scar' effectively ending the snowstorm as well as Airi's life.

Once Airi was dead and the snow was gone, the effect that she had on everyone went away immediately.

"Dad, where did you get that sword?" Inuyasha asked Toga as he watched the man transform the sword back into the rusty blade that it once was before placing it back in its sheath.

"I had our blacksmith, Totosai, make it long before you and Sesshomaru were even born. This sword has been one of my best companions for a long time now."

"I see... well, thanks for having our backs." Inuyasha nodded to his father.

"Of course, son, now let's go! We have yet to finish our mission." Toga replied.

Inuyasha sighed as he looked around the corner of the house to make sure the coast was clear before moving out knowing that the other two would follow after him.

*X*

Kagome and her team snuck as fast and as quietly as they could. Making it to the pool house, Kagome peeked around the corner to see if anyone was standing guard by the door. She saw it was only Kanna and relaxed just a little, Kanna was one of the easier opponents, according to Inuyasha, that they could have encountered. Though, she still had her dangers - like her soul stealing mirror - she didn't have any other power to her. So, all they had to do was not look into the mirror and they'd be fine.

"Okay, it's only Kanna standing guard." Kagome whispered as she turned to face her team. "Remember, don't look into her mirror and we'll be just fine."

"Alright." Sango replied with a nod, all the others gave understanding nods as well.

"Okay, let's go." Kagome mumbled giving, her own nod as she pulled out the pistol that Inuyasha gave her to use after finding out that she had taken shooting lessons for further protection. She walked out with the others following after her to face Kanna.

Kagome aimed her gun at Kanna when they gained her attention, making her turn her cold, emotionless eyes towards them before aiming her mirror at them. Taking extra care to keep her eyes away from the mirror, she shot her gun and watched in horror as the bullet hit and was absorbed into the mirror.

"What?" Kagome whispered in confusion, however, didn't have time to really grasp what had happened when the bullet was reflected back towards them.

They all jumped away from the path of the bullet and looked towards the girl wielding the mirror.

"Did you know about that?" Sesshomaru growled as he glowered at Kanna

"No, that must be new." Kagome muttered as she stared at Kanna in shock. "Maybe guns aren't the best idea in this scenario."

"Okay, no guns, noted." Sango nodded as they all stood up.

"Well, how the hell are we supposed to defeat her now!?" Guiseppi asked, right before he let out a surprised shriek when Sesshomaru's poison whip whipped past his face towards the girl clad in white.

They all watched as Kanna moved away from Sesshomaru's whip before angling the mirror in front of her and whispering a chant. They all watched in abject horror as a huge mirror demon crawled out of the mirror.

"Wha-what the heck is that Kagome!?" Sango asked in shock as she took several steps back.

"I-I don't know!" Kagome admitted with wide terrified eyes as she too took several steps away from the scene in front of her. "She's never been able to do this before!"

Sesshomaru stepped forward as he raised his hand above his head before bringing it down towards the mirror demon. However, shock took over his features when he watched as the green energy from his poison whip started to leave the whip and go into the mirror demon leaving it gray and useless.

"Wha-what happened to your poison whip?" Izayoi asked, knowing but scared of the answer.

"Your turn." Kanna whispered as she pointed towards Sesshomaru. "Poison whip."

The mirror demon raised his arm up over its head before swinging down, unleashing the poison whip towards Sesshomaru and Izayoi - both jumping out of the way just before the whip struck them. However, neither Kagome nor Sango were quite as lucky as they both got hit by the whip sending them flying into Byakuya's flower bed.

"That-that was your poison whip!" Izayoi exclaimed, staring at the mirror demon in shock. "But how did it get it?"

"What the fuck is going on!?" Guiseppi yelled as he watched the vines in the flower bed come alive and start to wrap themselves around the girls.

The only answer that Guiseppi got was Sesshomaru growling as he looked towards Kagome and Sango trapped in Byakuya's dream making vines before turning back towards the mirror demon and using his demon speed, slashing at the mirror demon with his poison claws, hitting it over and over again.

Izayoi and Guiseppi watched as Sesshomaru hit the mirror demon repeatedly only for the cracks on the demon to repair itself and reappear on the little girl dressed in all white. She watched as the girl raised her arm up and commanded the mirror demon to attack. She looked back at Sesshomaru and noticed that his poison claws were now gray and useless, just like his poison whip.

"Poison claws." Kanna whispered and Izayoi watched as the demon raised its hand up and the sickly green poison, that once belonged to Sesshomaru, started to seep out of its fingers before slashing towards Sesshomaru.

"What's going on?" Izayoi asked when Sesshomaru landed next to her after jumping out of the way from the poison claws. "How does that demon have your poison whip and your poison claws?"

"I'm not sure." Sesshomaru growled as he tried to think of his next move.

"The girl is taking the attacks from the demon and taking the wounds as her own." Guiseppi pointed out as he looked from the demon towards the girl. "If she takes anymore then she'll die."

"If that is what it takes to end this, then so be it." Sesshomaru replied as he took his pistol out of his jacket and pointed it at the mirror demon. He didn't like using his gun, he much preferred to use his whip and claws but they were stolen from him, and he fully intended on getting them back. He fired at the mirror demon right in the head and they both watched as the wound on the mirror demon's head healed and showed up on the girl's head before they both crumbled in pieces as the girl died. He watched as the green energy from his poison claws and poison whip lifted from the glass shards before seeping back into his body. He placed his gun back in his jacket as he looked towards Kagome and Sango, both of them were crying blood. "We need to find Byakuya to free them from their dreams before it's too late."

*Kagome's Dream*

Kagome stood in front of her childhood home. However, she wasn't a child, she was an adult. Her heart felt as if it was in her throat making it hard to breathe as she slowly took a step towards the house. She didn't dare get her hopes up too high as she reached for the doorknob, turning it before opening it and entering what seemed like an empty house. Stepping further into the living room, she looked around the familiar space as memories of all the good times she had with her father played in her mind.

"Kagome, is that you?" The familiar voice floated from the kitchen making her heart jump and her throat close with emotion. "I'm in the kitchen."

Kagome forced her heavy legs to move towards the kitchen, she had to swallow a sob as she entered the kitchen. There, sitting at the kitchen table, reading a newspaper and drinking a cup of coffee as if nothing ever happened was an older version of her father. She watched as he placed the paper on the coffee table, and he looked up at her with his eye crinkling smile as he stood up and rounded the table to place his hands on her shoulders.

"I'm so glad you finally found the time to come and visit your old man!" Her father exclaimed before pulling her in a tight bear hug.

Kagome was so overcome with emotion that her throat tightened making it so she couldn't respond to her father as she brought her arms up to hug her father back.

"How have you been?" Her father asked as he pulled away but kept his hands on her shoulders and held her at arm's length with his wide smile still on his face. "How's college going? Are you still studying to become a mechanic?"

'Oh, that's right.' Kagome thought as she continued to take in her father trying to wrap her mind around how he was even here. 'I wanted to go to college and study so I could own my own mechanic shop but then I got pregnant, and he died so my plans changed.' Not wanting to waste this opportunity to spend with her dad, even though she had no idea of how she got here or how he even was still alive, she decided to play along.

"Oh, um, college is doing just fine." Kagome replied with a watery smile. "I'm on my way to owning my own shop very soon."

"That's great!" Kagome's dad exclaimed as he let go of her shoulders and turned to walk towards his cabinets to retrieve two more mugs.

Kagome tilted her head in confusion as to why he was getting two more mugs instead of just one, however, her confusion didn't last long when her father started talking again.

"How are Inuyasha and the kids doing?" Her father asked as he began to fill the two cups up with steamy hot coffee. "He should be here soon, right?"

'Kids?' Kagome asked herself in confusion. "Um, y-yeah," she stammered while still playing along, "Inuyasha had to swing by to pick Hiro up. They should be here very soon."

"Ah, I can't wait to see him, it's been too long." He sighed with a small smile. "And I haven't even met the new baby yet." He went on with a disappointed look sent towards Kagome. "What is she, almost one now isn't she?" He asked as he handed Kagome her cup of coffee.

"N-new b-baby?" Kagome asked with wide eyes as she gripped her cup of coffee in a white knuckled grip. 'What? H-how is that possible? I-I don't have-'

"Sorry we're late." Inuyasha's voice rang out as he opened the front door before entering, effectively cutting off Kagome's thought process as she turned to face him.

Kagome's jaw hit the floor as she watched as Hiro walked in with Inuyasha right behind him holding a baby around the age of ten maybe eleven months old, she had shoulder length white hair and a pair of black puppy dog ears that were twitching and moving around as if she were trying to take everything in. She looked down from the baby's ears to her eyes and gasped as she stared into her own eyes. 'Her eyes are the same as mine, but how is that even possible? I-I lost the baby! I can't have any more!'

"Oooh, is that Moroha?" Kagome's father asked excitedly as he placed his coffee cup down on the table and quickly bypassed Kagome to stand in front of Inuyasha. "Can I hold her?"

'Moroha?' Kagome thought as she watched as her dad carefully plucked the little baby from Inuyasha's arms. 'That was what I was going to name Hiro if he was a girl.' Tears gathered in her eyes as she watched her father hold the baby girl close to his chest as he gently bounced her in his arms while he made little cooing sounds. Her heart twisted as she heard the baby's laughter fill the little house as her father tickled the baby's tummy.

"Are you okay?" Inuyasha's voice sounded right next to Kagome making her jump and look up at him.

"Oh, um, yeah," Kagome mumbled as she wiped her eyes, "I'm okay. I'm just happy that he's finally meeting Moroha." She replied not wanting to lose this moment. She knew something was up, knew that she had to do something, but for the life of her she couldn't figure out what it was that she needed to do or what she was doing before she got here.

Kagome didn't know what was going on, she didn't know if she was dreaming or if she was in a state of delusion. The little baby then looked right at her, smiled really big and held her arms out towards her wanting her to hold her. She smiled a small smile as her heart skipped a beat as she plucked the baby girl out of her father's arms and held her close to her heart.

'I don't know what's happening,' Kagome thought to herself as she held Moroha close to her as she closed her eyes and a few tears escaped past her eyelashes, 'but I don't want this moment to end.'

*Sango's Dream*

Sango groaned and turned around to wrap her pillow around her head to block out the annoying beeping coming from her alarm clock on her nightstand. 'Ugh, who turned on the damn alarm clock!?' She grumbled in her mind as she squeezed her eyes tighter trying to ignore the beeping sound.

"Sango, dear, wake up or you'll be late for your first day of work." A very familiar voice that made Sango's heart twist with anguish.

Sango cracked her eyes open a bit before they opened widely as she took in the woman that was standing in her bedroom doorway. She quickly sat up, rubbed her eyes and looked back at the much older version of her biological mother.

"M-mom?" Sango choked out as she scrambled out of bed and ran to the woman before wrapping her in a tight hug. "Oh, mom! I missed you so much!"

Surprised, the older woman slowly wrapped her arms around Sango and ran her fingers through her hair. "Oh, Sango, what's wrong, dear? Did you have a bad dream?"

Sango pulled away from her mom without saying anything as she rubbed the tears from her eyes with a sniffle. She smiled as she looked back at her mom, "yeah maybe," she responded not wanting not to say something wrong and ruin this moment.

Sango's mother smiled gently at her as she brought up her hand to cup her cheek. "Come on, dear, breakfast is on the table. You can eat before you leave." She replied as she dropped her hand before turning around and leaving the room.

Sango followed after her mom and walked into the kitchen where she saw an older version of her father drinking a cup of coffee and a young man around the age of seventeen or eighteen eating a piece of bacon. "Daddy?" She whispered before running and wrapping her arms around the man.

"Sango? Are you okay? Did something happen?" The man asked as he hugged her back and let her cry on his shoulder.

"Yeah, sis, what's up with you?" The teenaged boy asked with a surprised look on his face.

"Oh, don't worry about her," Sango's mother laughed as she went about making a plate of food for Sango, "she's still half asleep."

Sango pulled away from her father to accept the plate of food that her mother had handed her before going to sit at the table. 'This isn't possible. They died when I was four.' Sango thought as she remembered riding with her parents to an ultrasound appointment for her pregnant mother. They knew they were having a boy and were going to name him Kohaku and she couldn't be more excited to meet her little brother. However, they never made it to the appointment. A drunk driver had crashed into them, head on, instantly killing both of her parents and her unborn baby brother as well as putting her in a four week medically induced coma.

She didn't know what was going on, she felt like she was supposed to be doing something, but she couldn't figure out what she was supposed to be doing. The only thing she did know is that she was going to her first day of work was not what she was doing. 'It's strange, I can't remember what I was doing before I fell asleep.' She furrowed her eyebrows as she thought, she sighed as the only thing that happened was a slight headache from over thinking.

"What are you thinking about?" Sango's mother asked her as she sat a glass of orange juice in front of her before sitting down to give her daughter her full attention.

"I just feel like I'm supposed to be doing something right now." Sango admitted as she moved her food around her plate with her fork.

"You are supposed to be doing something right now." Sango's father confirmed as he poured himself another cup of coffee.

"Really?" Sango asked, looking at her father with wide, hopeful eyes. "What is it?"

"Getting ready for your first day of work." Her father replied as he took a sip of his coffee.

Sango sighed as she looked back down at her plate as she continued to move her food around with her fork. "No, that's not it. Something just doesn't feel right." She mumbled not wanting to tell them that they shouldn't be here because they were dead.

"Well, that's the only thing right now for you to worry about." Her father responded as he sat his mug down on the counter before sending a stern look her way. "I've pulled a lot of strings for you to get this job, don't blow it."

'This isn't right.' Sango thought as she stabbed some scrambled eggs onto her fork. 'I'm not supposed to be here. They are definitely not supposed to be here. What is going on?' Don't get her wrong, she was happy to see them and ecstatic to see what her little brother was supposed to look like - but this wasn't right, they were dead. As a thought came to her mind, her heart dropped in her chest as the fork fell from her hand. "Am I dead?"

"What did you say dear?" Sango's mother asked as she gave some more scrambled eggs to Kohaku before smoothing his hair back.

"I-I lost my appetite." Sango replied before darting out of her chair and out of the kitchen back to her room. "What is happening?" She asked herself as she slammed her door shut. "Why can't I remember anything?" She asked as she brought her hands up to fist in her hair. She looked around her room, it was the same room that she had before her parents had died. It was the same kitchen, the same living room, the same house that belonged to her and her parents. "No, this isn't right. This has got to be a dream." She tried to reason with herself before gasping as everything around her started melting away as if the dream was coming to an end.

Once everything melted away, she was floating in an endless black void.

"No! Why did you leave the dream!?" A bodiless voice asked. "I gave you everything your heart ever wanted! Why did you have to overthink it and figure out it was a dream!? Didn't you want to stay in the world I created for you?"

Sango didn't answer as she tried to find a way out of the black void. She let out a small gasp when she saw a light source several yards away from her. 'Maybe that's the way out.' She thought to herself as she started to move towards the light.

"No matter." The voice went on as she started to move towards the light. "Your soul was good, but your friend's soul is especially delicious. So much pain and suffering! She'll make for a fine fertilizer!"

"Friend?" Sango asked, confused as she was still trying to remember what she was doing or who she was with before she was thrown into that dream world. A gasp escaped her lips, and her eyes grew wide as she remembered everything. "Kagome!"

Hope you enjoyed this chapter! See you soon, bye!
