Hakuno bolted away from the door, her heart racing as she looked for anything that could be a way to defend herself.

Why bother? If they wanted to kill her they would sick their Phantasmal after her when she was… unconscious.

Her job was done her wish was granted. At least, she was fairly certain it was, she heard the Moon Cell confirm it as it erased every fiber of her existence. She clutched her head as static took her thoughts, b̶̞̤͙̌̀̐r̵̘̻͝ͅi̷̢̛͖̅͜ǵ̵̠̩̹h̵̘͑̀͝t̴̲͔͕̀ ̴̧̻̦̓͆̇g̵̺̪̻̒̾́r̷̡͇͑e̵̻̬͜͝ȅ̸͉̑ṋ̷̈́͊̓ ̸̢̗̳͋̎h̷̤̺̟̀̓̚ȁ̸̠͓̩̎̕n̸̺̞͝d̴͔̠̓̑ ̷̞̓͝ř̴̯̜͇̓e̸̟͊̍ā̵̹͈͓c̴̰̤͑͆͠ͅh̸͙͒i̶͈͗̕n̷͚͚̗̓̄g̶̱̠̤͋́ ̴͈̰͉͒̓̄t̶̤͎͝ọ̵̬̉̋͝ ̸̥̣̣̉̔h̶̟̮̖͛͝e̷̲͎̩͒r̷̗͛?̸̼̃̾͂

She wanted to live, it was the core tenet of Hakuno Kishinami the very thing that pushed her as far as she did. To honor the fallen.

But.

She was so tired. The person on the other side of the door must have heard her, soft footfalls ran from the room, "Grandpa! She woke up!"

The voice sounded younger than her although not by much, possibly feminine. She could hear slow shuffling, the smack of wooden cane, and the scooting of stone against wood coming closer. Should she hide? Where could she even hide?

The room was bare as if it was never used, the only furniture was the small table, the Futon, and the blanket the Phantasmal brought in. Their steps were closer, she took a moment to calm herself.

Six seconds in, six seconds out and repeat. Center in on herself, stay calm. Focus on surviving even one minute longer. Put back on the mask that let you watch your friends die.

There was a knock on the door.

"Hello? May we come in?" Older voice, the Grandfather most likely.

"Yes." Stay calm, they might reveal things they don't plan to and possibly lead to a way out if they call off their Phantasmal. What Hakuno needs right now is information. She has to squash her feelings for the moment into the corner of her mind. Put up a strong front, you are one moment away from death. She took a deep breath as the door creaked open.

She analyzed the man who walked in, he was old and wearing a Japanese-inspired outfit. The Phantasmal was by his side, it used its strange yellow tentacles to scoot its rock body across the ground. She stifled the panic that sprouted, she flinched slightly when she noticed her left hand squeezed her right.

Saber could not save her anymore.

Put up a strong front, the moment she shows weakness is the moment that things can turn to a questioning to a death sentence.

"Shu Kle Ckle Shuckle!" The Phantasmal spoke, it nudged the cup closer to her with one of its appendages, almost in a confused manner. Should she have tossed it outside? She wasn't dumb enough to drink random liquids that came from inside of a Magical Beast.

"I see you didn't drink the Berry Juice Shuckle left for you." Berry juice? Shuckle? She racked her brain for anything with similar words or names but came up with nothing other than basic smoothies. "Do you not have any from when you are from?"

What kind of drinks could a Rock-Octopus make with berries? She glanced at the drink, it smelled citrusy so perhaps some sort of Orange? She slowly shook her head, He asked When not Where.

Time Travel was the domain of the Second and Fifth Magic if she recalled, the Moon Cell, in theory, could replicate aspects of it but it would never waste that much power to move a data file like her into another timeline, even if it did she would not have survived it in her previous state.

The man sighed, "Then that wouldn't help… I must apologize our Whimsical Guardian dragged you here most likely then." He bowed slightly, "Celebi is a fickle one, they probably thought you might entertain them."

Celebi? She felt her face scrunch slightly from the name, Spirit Being? Or…Ceres beauty? That doesn't clear anything up. The Phantasmal moved the Berry Juice closer to her "Ckle, Shuckle!"

Perhaps he noticed her ever so slight flinch or it was common for the Phantasmal to overstep, "Shuckle won't do you any harm, he may be battle-worn but he is far too gentle of a Pokémon to a kid."

Pokémon?

What is a Pokémon?

Kurt has dealt with thousands of youngsters, many asking for his unique Apricorn Pokeballs, but she was the first to be frightened of a Shuckle. The Mold Pokémon was too old and caring to hurt a child.

Although he had a feeling she was still coming off of a battle of sorts, her eyes were still wired constantly glancing at the door and window, and the initial look she gave him, he knew that she saw him as a potential threat.

Could she have been from before Pokémon Trainers were a thing? That would explain her fear of Shuckle and her lack of Pokeballs.

But… her clothing was far too strange for that, while he admits he doesn't know a lot about teenage girl clothing, his preteen granddaughter is his only source of that information, he can at least guess what type of fabric is being used. And it seemed to be something not commonly used in this part of the Region's past.

Add in the strange Pokegear she had, and his granddaughter looked at it and marveled over it, it seemed closer to crystal than glass, as he reached into his sleeve to pull out her device her eyes focused on him. He could feel Shuckle tense up, the Mold Pokémon's old fighting instincts flaring up. He put one of his hands on his Pokémon to keep her calm.

This… is proving more difficult than he had hoped… He had Maizie end a message to Nurse Joy, hopefully she will be here soon. Sadly, they didn't have a full human hospital, while Nurse Joy was an accredited Doctor, as most of the Joy clan are, they just didn't have a regular hospital.

The town was far too old for that.

They all prefer if Azalea town stays the same way it always has, the Slowpoke and Celebi would be upset if they try to change things too much. It took a lot of talks with the league for them to open a Gym here, and each Leader had to be approved by Celebi.

"I'm returning something to you, it fell out of your pocket when we brought you here." She gave a slight nod, her eyes flickering between him and Shuk-Shuk. "How about I return him? Would that make it less stressful?" He saw a flash of confusion in her eyes for a split second.

Shuckle looked at him in annoyance and huffed, the small green ball appeared in his hand, and it expanded quickly to full size as the beam of red light sucked Shuckle back inside. He didn't notice her eyes growing wide in confusion as he brought out her Pokegear and handed it back to her.

He did notice her slight flinch at seeing the device. Her fingers slowly reached out to touch the device, and as soon as she did it flashed blue, and several strange symbols flared onto it.

Huh, it didn't do anything when they had hoped it would have some information about her. It… was concerning she had nothing else to her name other than that device and the clothing on her back.

"I have Nurse Joy coming, can you tell me anything about yourself to give her a head start?" Her eyes didn't leave the device, but she nodded slowly.

"I am Hakuno Kishinami… I do not think I am from around here." His eyes met hers, "What… is a Pokémon?"

That… apparently was not the right question to ask, the man just stared at her in absolute confusion, before hearing the scampering of claws on wood and a knock on the door. He stood up and robotically opened the door, a girl with…glaringly bright pink hair, wearing what could be a nurse's outfit, entered the room, a small brown bear stood in the hallway, and… a pastel pink egg walked in after the Nurse did.

That has an egg on its stomach pouch. Strangely, she felt better as soon as the Pokémon entered the room. The small Brown Bear stood in the hall when their eyes met the creature scampered down the halls, its nails clicking against the wood.

Her Portable Terminal flashed blue again, Viable Connection Port Requested, please locate one to connect to local databases. Several flashing warning and error screens filled it up before it flickered off.

"Kurt you should have brought her and her Pokémon to the Pokecenter as soon as you found her. Chansey, can you prepare a Soft-boil for me?" The Pink-haired Nurse sat down beside her, opening up a small medical bag she pulled out a stethoscope. "Now Miss… are you dizzy? Little Maizie mentioned that Kurt here found you in Ilex."

Kurt coughed into his hand, "She doesn't have a Pokémon."

Should she lie? If this is a trial made by the Moon C- she felt it, a flicker of something she could not describe her eyes went to the Pink Pokémon as it… removed the egg from its pouch and another one quickly appeared in its place. The egg it held became hazy and filled with something.

It was different than the Mana on the Moon, different than the pure data that made up Enemy Programs. It was so incredibly foreign to her that it made her drop her guard when the Pokémon said with a smile, "Chansey."

And the egg.

Melded with her body as it turned to energy.

Her body became warm, she felt weirdly full, and the exhaustion from her lunar-based journey began to ease up slightly. She tilted her head slightly at the Pink Pokémon, Nurse Joy snapped her fingers in front of her face.

"Hey, Hakuno, I understand seeing Chansey is cool, but I do need you to focus for right now, afterward you can talk to Chansey ok?" Hakuno faced Nurse Joy and gave her a nod, "Alright… so why were you in one of the most dangerous woods in the Johto Region without a group or a Pokémon? Do you have any idea of the danger you were in?"

Hakuno blinked, the Nurse was speaking fast, she was very much unlike Sakura and it threw her for a loop for a moment. "I… do not know how I got here." It was not a lie. She had no idea how the Moon Cell or if… 'Celebi' had brought her here.

She didn't know why she felt rela- These… Pokémon seem to have special abilities, was this… 'Chansey's' ability to be a type of relaxant? To get more information out of her? Powerful… and dangerous if that is true.

Or perhaps… she was just that tired.

B̶̧͓̘̬̈́̿͝e̵͉̘̎̓i̵̤̳̍͜n̶͇͆g̶͚̞̕͘̕͝ ̶͚̊̿͘ḁ̵̛̑̊̄l̷̬̳̿̽̌̃ö̴͔̭̝̎n̸̨͇̺̄̏͌̕ê̶̪͎̙̿ ̸̡̔̓w̸̄̊ͅǎ̶͍̈̚͘s̴̙͌͊̓ ̵̝̮̬̋t̵̛̼̤̍̆e̶͇̔̚r̵̤̭̞̎̓͜r̶̢̻̝̐͜i̸̫͚͚̝̽̀̿̈́f̵͉̲͇͂̄ͅẏ̴͇͖̖̭̊̀̆i̶̭͓͂n̸͉̙̙̟̐g̸̻̗̠̿̀̐͠.̶͉̈́͝

A cough to the side of the room got the Nurse's Attention, "Nurse Joy, would you mind joining me outside for a moment?" If she had eyes that could kill Kurt would be a dead man walking.

The Nurse sighed and placed her stethoscope on the small table, "Alright… Chansey, can you do the basic checks for me? I shouldn't be for more than a moment."

He sighed, he felt a solid ten years older as the young nurse glared at him. The Joy clan was very strict about their patient's health and safety "I think our Whimsical Guardian brought her here."

Her eyes narrowed slightly before she gave up and sighed, "Celebi… So she is a Drifter?" He rubbed his eyes at that.

There have been… a few times when their Guardian would bring people out of their home time and… it usually showed that something large would happen.

But…

"This might be different. She didn't know what a Pokémon was," The incredulous look on her face almost made him laugh, "And, according to Maizie that Pokegear of hers is unlike anything that she can find online."

"What are you saying, Kurt."

He sighed, "I'll be honest, I don't know. We should ease her into this time until she trusts us enough to talk." He couldn't believe one could even happen. "My Grandfather told me of some legends when I first learned to make Apricorn Pokeballs, it was one from before Sinnoh and was called Hisui. A Young Girl who came from so far in the future she had no fear of Pokémon and ended up saving the world. But that involved deities of Time and Space, not our Mischief-Maker." He didn't believe his grandfather's story but some things seemed to line up. But… just in the opposite way. But… she wasn't afraid of Chansey. So he was still missing something.

"So you think she might be displaced even further than usual?" She sighed, their Guardian usually only brought people from a decade or two. Something must really have caught their attention about her.

"We do have to report it and send a DNA sample to Officer Jenny, but maybe we can wait a day or two?" He wasn't confident if she did have any family in this Era, but it would be for the best. Celebi… might have gone a bit too far in time this time.

"We should take her in for a full scan to ensure she isn't carrying any diseases or major genetic differences. That would buy us some time, she will need some identification as well…" He begrudgingly agreed to that, although…

"I think for tonight at least she needs to rest. Somethin' in the back of my mind is telling me that this Girl has been through a lot." Not even counting that she could turn on a Pokémon's flight or fight instinct with her glare. He will have to talk to Shuck-Shuck after this and see if she has a reason for flaring up like that.

She sighed, "I guess the Center can hold her for a few days, as long as no one finds out that we took in a non-trainer it should be alright. The next Gym Circuit is still a few months out so Bugsy hasn't had to come in too often."

"Why can't she stay here?" A third voice asked the question that he wished she didn't.

"Chansey Chansey Chan, Chan Sey!" Hakuno had no idea what the Pokémon was saying.

The strange Egg Pokémon was moving her… paws? Hands? Nubs? Around her body, taking extra care to look her over, it almost felt comforting. She had no idea how medical professionals work, she only spent a scant amount of time with Sakura in the room, usually after recovering from some wound or another.

She felt her mask crack slightly, she hoped the Pokémon didn't know human emotions well en-

"Chansey." The Pokémon tapped her arm with its nub, "Chansey, Chan, Chan." Another pat on her shoulder and the Pokémon brought Hakuno's head to rest beside their hair growths.

The Pokémon rubbed her back. It was… soothing.

She felt her mask crack.

Connecting all the dots; Her Portable Terminal was unable to connect to the Moon Cell, strange monsters that had a power unlike anything she had felt, time travel is common enough to be known, a 'Johto' Region, and…

Her deletion in the Moon Cell.

Her mask broke, and she felt a tear slip through, she idly noticed that the Chansey had very fine and soft fur, as she buried her face roughly where its shoulder was and cried. She clutched onto the Pink Pokémon with all the force her arms could muster.

She did not wail, nor scream as the tears flowed onto the Pokémon, she let the tears flow as the Pokémon rubbed her back.

She was free from the tournament. Free to do whatever her heart decided.

But… now what should she do in a world not her own?

Author's Note: Little Hakuno has been through a lot. Like a lot a lot. This Hakuno is honestly the one that I feel bad for more than the other ones in my fictions cause she had a worse run-through in the Holy Grail War.

This is…a Hakuno who didn't make a solid connection, she wanted to become friends with Rin and Rani but failed to become close, forcing her to scramble and find a way around situations that need them. She also failed to save Tamamo-no-Mae in her fourth week.

And now her beloved Saber is gone.

Anyways~ Cya'll laters!

Oh, and I won't be releasing super fast like I did with Lunar Thief, I just… well I'm already on chapter 7 with my backlog, so I figured what the heck ya know? Anyways, Probably going to stick to a chapter a week for a bit before rotating with Lunar Thief.
