Super Life
My family and I had recently moved to Metropolis. Our new house was just a few blocks away from Metropolis High. I hadn't made any new friends yet, but that was soon to change.
One day as I walked through the halls between classes, I met Karen Beecher. We hit it off just fine since we were both kind of quiet and timid. It didn't take long for me to befriend the rest of her girl posse. I quickly deduced their secret identities as the Super Hero Girls, but I promised not to tell anybody.
The girls rescued me on two separate occasions over the course of a week. The first time, they saved me from an electrical explosion caused by Livewire. The second time, they saved me from falling to my death during a city-wide attack by Livewire and the other Super Villain Girls. Both times, Babs and Diana bear hugged me afterwards, glad I was safe.
About two weeks later, Karen put the finishing touches on a molecular amplifier she built. She asked me and Diana to come with her to the junkyard to test out the device. Karen asked us to press the big blue button to activate her machine.
Karen grew to a giant size, which was her intent, for a few seconds before returning to her Bumblebee form. Before Karen could fix the amplifier, she shrank even more. She continued to shrink until Diana and I couldn't hear her. Karen had to use her helmet in conjunction with a headphone set Diana had to maintain communication.
Karen told me and Diana we needed to find a certain kind of flash drive to fix the amplifier. Said hard drive could be found at Helen's House of Hard Drives. I knew where the store was, so I led Diana there. Meanwhile, Karen tried to avoid being eaten by amoebas, birds, and insects as she continued to shrink.
"Quick!" Diana said as she burst into the store. "Are you Helen?" she asked as she pointed her sword in Helen's direction. Helen didn't say anything and just pointed to her name tag.
"Hey, Helen," I said as I smiled and waved at her.
"Hey, Jermaine," Helen said with her own smile and wave.
Diana and I couldn't remember exactly what kind of drive Karen needed. As such, we bought an E drive and an F drive. Diana didn't have any money on her, so I paid for the drives myself.
"Do you want your receipt?" Helen asked.
"Yes, please," I said. She printed out and handed me the receipt. "Thanks, Helen."
"You're welcome. Have a nice day, Jermaine," Helen said.
"You too, Helen," I said.
Diana and I returned to the junkyard. We inserted the drives into the amplifier and fixed it. Karen returned to her normal size.
"Thank you both!" Karen said with a smile as she hugged me and Diana.
"You're welcome," I said.
