"You Give Me Love That I Never Had Before"

It was the little things in life that made life magical. It was the little things in life that ended up saving your life, sometimes.

It was her curling up against Lucy as she read a good book, the turning of crisp pages and the sound of the blonde celestial mage's voice as she read aloud to her softly that made a blush crawl up her cheeks. It was Natsu holding her hand and gently leading the way when they went out shopping to keep them from getting separated that made her heart stammer.

It was Lucy delicately applying makeup on her face, rich, chocolatey brown eyes narrowed in concentration as her hands carefully moved across her face that made Juvia feel lightheaded in all the best ways. It was Natsu wrapping his scarf around her when the air dipped and cooled in the autumn season to keep her warm that made her feel like all the air was depleted from her lungs, and she'd gladly suffocated if it meant she could hold onto this feeling of contentment forever.

Coming back from missions together in their shared space made butterflies flutter madly within the very depths of her stomach. It was such a perfect blend of the three of them, of Neptunian seas, of flaming infernos, of sentimental stars. To have a space where she could drop the mask and let her hair down, where she could be wholly herself in all her sometimes messy splendor without fear of judgement and ridicule was all Juvia craved for when she was younger. Acceptance and the freedom to be herself, and she now had those things and more in spades.

And being with them both was nice. Actually, nice wasn't strong enough a word to describe and encompass the emotions that were invoked whenever she thought of precious people. Lucy was kindhearted and earnest, sweeter than peaches and prettier than one as well. Long, blonde hair that shone like purely spun gold, like the very stars that littered the night sky and a curvaceous, slender figure that made many people envious and intrigued alike, she was the woman of many a people's dreams and fantasies. She was also thoughtful and highly intelligent, brilliantly creative and whimsical. She loved hearing her thoughts and being able to read her rough drafts and her published works.

Natsu was like his element: fiery, brash, and unyielding. He was confident in himself and his abilities and secure in his strength and the mark he left on the world. He was boisterous with a youthful cheerfulness to him that rarely failed to endear people to him. He had heart of gold and nerves of steel, and it was his kindness and hand in friendship that helped ground her when she finally faced the fact that her feelings for his best friend would be forever unrequited on the romantic part.

It was him that wiped her tears and did everything he could to cheer her up while being mindful of Gray, and she'll never understand how he balanced being considerate to her and him both, but she's forever grateful for that careful consideration because he helped them patch things up and now they had a healthy, thriving friendship that fostered a closeness she'd never had with him previously.

Funnily enough, it ended up being Gray that helped her realize Natsu and Lucy harbored deeper feelings for her. "You mean to tell me you you're a self-proclaimed romantic and certified lover girl, and yet you can't tell that Natsu and Lucy have the hots for you? It's hard being the pretty and smart one out of this ragtag group of friends, but clearly someone's gotta do it." She had swatted him, blushing furiously and heartbeats skittering back and forth within her ribcage like a game of tennis, but once that seed was planted, even she had to admit that they sings were pretty damn obvious now that she knew exactly what to look for.

From there, it bled into something more meaningful. Little dates that the duo swore weren't dates, gifting her trinkets and the like from the missions they had undertaken, holding hands with her for seemingly no reason at all other than why not, and finding any and every excuse to just be with her. And here they were now, happily dating and closer than ever and very much in love with each other in equal measures.

She didn't enjoy every adversity and curveball life hurled at her, but if it meant that she got to be with the loves of her life, she'd gladly walk through hellfire and broken glass with a smile on her face. They made life worth living and proved every day that she was someone worth loving and was someone to be cherished and treasured.
