Smaller disclaimer: The first 3 chapters are centered around Minato, so Naruto's first appearance will be in Chapter 4.
The smell of ethanol ran through the lab. There were 2 men, one younger with white hair and glasses, and the other, with ghostly pale skin, diving deep into notes and experiment logs. His hair, black, ran down until it reached the top of his shoulder blades. He took a pen and wrote something down, seeming unsatisfied with the results. He slammed his fist against the wall and the laboratory they were in shook. He looked up, showing purple markings that rand down his face and yellow snake-like eyes, with slits for pupils.
"Kabuto. We are leaving. This… was undoubtedly a failure." His voice was an eerie calm, and his muscles tense. Kabuto merely followed along with him, before the snake-like man turned around.
"...the boy. He has a weaker version of it, but…"
He suddenly smiled, but just continued walking, as the 'roof' started shaking.
"Kitsune."
"6 years old, spiky blonde hair, no distinguishing features… Most likely an orphan, his hair is too saturated to be a Yamanaka, Sandaime-sama."
"Ushi. Take him to the orphanage. Hyou, Uma, Koumori, scout out ahead and see if you can find Orochimaru. Anaguma, scout out the surrounding area. Dismissed."
"Yes, Sandaime-sama," a chorus of voices rang out. The boy had no clue where he was, but… he felt sleepy.
"Minato-kun, could you please demonstrate a Henge-no-Jutsu for the class?
"Yes, Ikasu-sensei." Minato went through the hand seals, murmuring under his breath, and after a brief puff of smoke, turned into Taikutsuna (which, ironically, is the more 'fun' teacher while Ikasu is rather boring.).
"Good job, Minato-kun. Try to make the shadow more convincing next time, as it clearly belongs to you." No matter what, Ikasu always seemed to make anything sound boring. Or, rather, more as if he was bored. Minato looked towards Kushina, hoping to see some praise, and she just rolled her eyes and said something quietly to herself. Honestly, Minato couldn't say he was expecting anything else, because he's used to it by now. He just wishes he could prove himself to her, as the day he entered the academy he fell in love (and how couldn't he, when her hair is so beautiful?)
"Where is she!?"
"Could it be that those diplomats…"
"I knew we could never trust those Kumogakure scum! To hell with the bastards! I say we declare war!"
"Dad, you're causing a scene…" Suddenly, a figure bumped into the man and the girl, legs glowing blue as he was speeding down the streets of Konoha.
"Damned Delinquents! When I get my hands on you!"
Minato was hurrying as fast as he could. He didn't know how they didn't recognize those strands of hair, bright red on the floor, but it didn't matter. Kushina and her captors were far away, and he needs to hurry. He's moving as fast as he can, but it still doesn't matter, it still doesn't matter, there has to be some way to move faster, damn it!
He's been chasing them for about an hour now, but the hair trail has stopped. He just has to pray that Kushina is safe. They'll be right on the border in just a few minutes, and with the treaty… this month, Kumogakure has their guards there in place of the Land of Frost and Land of Waves Daimyo's guards. But, he sees them. Just one last final stretch, one more burst of strength, and then… A sweep to the legs, chop to the neck, and one thrown to the ground. The last turns around, but gets his arm snapped, all in a couple of seconds. He catches Kushina and Immediately turns his attention to her.
"Are you okay?"
"Y-yeah. Thanks for the help."
"Alright. We'll need to head ba-" but right as he was about to start moving, the Jonin he threw down climbed back up and caught him, before snapping his legs and tossing him down, throwing a senbon towards him. Minato barely caught it with his arm, and if he didn't it would've pierced straight through an artery. He starts feeling sluggish almost immediately. A couple of thoughts were running through his head, primarily that the senbon was poisoned and he's probably going to get killed after Kushina- Kushina. He needs to save her. If he's gonna do one goddamned thing right in his life, it's gonna be saving her. On pure instinct, he raises his hand, and his finger feels funny, though it doesn't matter. He points it towards the man's neck, and the Jonin takes a second to gloat. Minato, almost out of strength, mouthed the word 'Checkmate', and a distal phalanx (the fingertip), cut through and shot out at high speeds, sharpened. It pierced the Jonin's neck, and he started scratching at it, as he realized the mistake he made. The Jonin dropped Kushina from his arms, and Minato caught her on the way down.
"Alright, we should be fine. It doesn't hurt too much because of the adrenaline. Do you have any strength left?"
"Yeah. Don't worry about it, alright? I'll take you back to Konoha, Dattebane!"
A/N: Okay, I know this chapter is kind of short and doesn't relate much to the premise (Shikotsumakyu), and I'm really sorry about that! This is my first time writing fanfics, so please don't leave many flames :)
The next one is gonna be Chunin Exams with Minato, Kushina, Fugaku, and Mikoto! I suck at fight scenes but I'll try lol. If you notice anything with the plot that might seem off compared to canon (I didn't find an explanation for how Minato came up with/made or when he made the rasengan, so that will be a plot point in the next chapter), please leave a review correcting me! (I'm not gonna change it though.)
Finally, no Kaguya. That entire plot point was only added because Kishimoto didn't find a way for Madara to get beaten, and if I have to I'll make it to where he wins and then the chakra is too much for him or something, or the Juubi is resisting him and it gives a split second window in which Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura all do this team combo whatever. Point is, Madara is the BBEG, not Kaguya. Zetsu is just a weird chakra monster that has ties to the Nara clan.
I forgot but Sakura will have more of her potential used, because I just don't see Kakashi doing what he did in canon, you know? You could kinda say that 'oh, he was protecting them' but it'd be better if you taught Sakura some basic medical jutsu, or genjutsu so they could escape from danger that will come to them due to their sensei being Sharingan-no-Kakashi, you know?
