Visas Multiversal Tournament

This story is my attempt to make something that can be seen as a sequel to 'The Joy In Losing.' In an attempt to cure himself of his boredom, Visas Starfrost decided to put together a Duel Monsters tournament the multiverse has never seen. Who will come out on top? He's more than excited to find out. (Match 3: Sir Dalton Burton VS Atticus Rhodes)

1. Chapter 1

I really hope you guys like the first chapter of my newest story.

Floating in the space between universes, the Visas Duel Colosseum began to light up.

Visas, with a microphone in his hand, shouts out to whoever is hearing him.

"Folks, I'd like to take a moment and thank you for your patience! Welcome to Round 1 of the Visas Multiversal Tournament! We have two mighty contenders who have each agreed to duke it out in the arena you see before you!

I'll be serving as your commentator! Visas Starfrost! But please, call me Visas.

And now without any further ado… Let's meet our duelists!"

Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Links - The Supreme King Theme

A figure wearing black armor and a matching cape makes his way to his spot at the arena.

Visas comments. "Please welcome our first fighter! He's come a long way from his hometown! Building himself a massive army and invading village after village! Many strong warriors stood up to him only to fall at his feet! Wielding the Evil Hero archetype, he has amassed a record of 35 wins and zero losses!

Known as the Wielder of the Gentle Darkness… Please welcome… THE SUPREME KING!"

The Supreme King looks at Visas. "May God help you if you don't deliver on your promise, Visas!"

Visas clears his throat before announcing again. "And now introducing his opponent… REPRESENTING DUEL ACADEMY BETA!"

Undead Corporation - Make Me Crazy

"I hear the voice shouting like! (YEAH!)

In my head, it repeats again! (YEAH!)

I can't handle my heartbeat!

No one can stop me!"

A man in his late teens wearing a long, blue coat makes his way to the arena.

"He is what everybody calls one of the most talented students in the Obelisk Blue dorm in Duel Academy! He is living proof that true strength in a duelist doesn't come from never losing, but in rising up every time they fall. Time and time again, he's improved himself! And now he's ready to show his skills on a multiversal level again!

His record stands at 129 wins and 21 losses! His Hero deck is something to be feared every bit as it is admired!

Making his appearance… Please welcome… BETA JADEN YUKI!"

Beta Jaden gives the Supreme King a wicked smile as he readies his duel disk. "So you're the Supreme King Visas had been talking about? Is that black armor of yours compensating for something… Or are you just a fan of world-conquering warlords?"

The Supreme King grits his teeth at Beta Jaden. "I've been told that you act arrogant… But that word is way too nice of a term to describe a miserable worm like yourself!" He then readies his own duel disk. Earning a look of investment from Beta Jaden as he had never seen one like his before.

"The Supreme King shall rule over all that exists… And will put down those who rise up to stop him!"

"And now you're referring to yourself in the third person." Beta Jaden shook his head. "This is going to be so embarrassing for you when you lose."

"How about I show you how a TRUE warrior acts in battle!" The Supreme King drew his starting hand.
"First, I activate the special ability of Evil Hero Adjusted Gold in my hand! By discarding it, I can add from my deck to my hand my Dark Fusion spell card!

I'll now activate Dark Fusion! I fuse together Evil Hero Infernal Prodigy and Evil Hero Sinister Necrom to fusion summon a monster more than powerful enough to bring you down! Evil Hero Malicious Bane! (ATK: 3000) Next I activate Sinister Necrom's effect in my graveyard! By removing it from play, I can special summon an Evil Hero monster straight from my deck! I choose Evil Hero Infernal Rider! (ATK: 2100) Infernal Rider's effect activates when it's special summoned! Allowing me to retrieve from my graveyard my Dark Fusion spell!

I'll now normal summon Evil Hero Infernal Gainer! (ATK: 1600) And now I can perform a LINK SUMMON! Using Infernal Gainer and Infernal Rider as material, I link summon Infernal Devicer! (ATK: 1700) Infernal Devicer's effect then activates!"

Beta Jaden shook his head. "You reveal a hero fusion monster and retrieve two of its materials from your deck. You don't gotta explain it to me."

"You're acting pretty calm for someone who is about to lose big!" The Supreme King glares at him. "My fusion monster is Evil Hero Infernal Wing! So I'll fetch from my deck Elemental Heroes Avian and Burstinatrix!"

"Oh look!" Beta Jaden's eyes lit up. "Vanilla monsters I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole!"

"I would never put these cards in my deck if I didn't believe they would help me, idiot!" The Supreme King is looking angrier by the second. "I'll now re-activate Dark Fusion! Fusing together Avian and Burstinatrix to fusion summon Evil Hero Infernal Wing - Hellback Fire! (ATK: 2100) Infernal Wing's effect now activates! Allowing me to fetch my field spell, Supreme King's Castle! I'll now activate it!

And finally, I'll activate the graveyard effect of Infernal Rider! By banishing it along with four other monsters in my graveyard, I can directly set one Super Polymerization from my deck!

This is only just the beginning. I'm going to savor wiping that dumb smile off your face. I end my turn."

"It's about time… I DRAW!" Beta Jaden's smile only grew wider as he looked at the cards in his hand. "That Super Poly of yours is gonna be my greatest obstacle… Good thing I had the foresight to include this card in my deck… Cosmic Cyclone!"

"WHAT!?" The Supreme King shouted in disbelief.

"By paying 1000 life points, I can banish your set Super Poly!" LP 7000

"You'll pay for that!" The Supreme King grunted as he removed his card from the field.

Beta Jaden continues. "Now… I activate the special ability of my Vision Hero Faris! I discard my Destiny Hero Malicious to special summon it! And when it's special summoned, its SECOND effect gets triggered!"

The Supreme King crosses his arms. "You're allowed to bring out another Vision Hero card."

"Vision Hero Increase!" Beta Jaden holds up his card. "And now for Increase's effect! Tributing Faris to special summon itself… and then special summoning Vision Hero Vyon from my deck!

Vyon's effect lets me send Elemental Hero Shadow Mist from my deck to the grave. Which triggers off its effect, allowing me to fetch from my deck, Elemental Hero Liquid Soldier!

And now for Vyon's other effect… Banishing Faris to fetch Polymerization from my deck!

And now… using my Vision Heroes as material, I perform a Link Summon… Xtra Hero Cross Crusader! When it's link summoned, I can special summon Malicious from my graveyard. (ATK: 800) But he won't stay for long, because it's other effect lets me tribute him and fetch Destiny Hero - Denier from my deck! I'll now banish Malicious from my graveyard to special summon another one from my deck! Then I'll link summon AGAIN! Using Cross Crusader and Malicious, I link summon my own Xtra Hero Infernal Devicer! (ATK: 1700)"

"I see." The Supreme King said gently. "You're a foe that cannot be taken lightly. Employing a strategy that no amateur could pull off. And now you have all the material you need."

Beta Jaden continues. "Devicer's effect lets me add Elemental Hero Neos to my hand… And now… POLYMERIZATION! Fusing Neos and Liquid Soldier to fusion summon Elemental Hero Flame Wingman - Infernal Rage!

Now Liquid Soldier's effect goes off! I can draw two cards then discard one card in my hand… But before that, Wingman's effect goes off… Allowing me to add the trap card, Favorite Contact to my hand. Next, because Wingman was fusion summoned using a non-effect monster… I can tribute it to special summon Elemental Hero Sunrise from my extra deck! Sunrise's effect lets me fetch Miracle Fusion!

Next, I'll link summon AGAIN! Using Sunrise and Infernal Devicer as material!"

"That's THREE times you've link summoned!" The Supreme King's eye began to twitch. "Just how long is this DAMN strategy of yours!?"

"If you don't have any hand traps, quit complaining." Said Beta Jaden. "Anyway… I link summon Xtra Hero Wonder Driver! (ATK: 1900)

And because I discarded Denier using Liquid Soldier, I activate its effect! I can special summon it to the zone directly below Wonder Driver! Wonder Driver's effect activates before the other effect of Denier… I send my banished Malicious to the top of my deck before setting my Polymerization spell card from my graveyard. And since I have a second Malicious in my graveyard, I might as well banish it to special summon the one I just sent back. And now… I re-activate Polymerization! Fusing together Malicious and Denier to fusion summon… Destiny Hero - Destroyer Phoenix Enforcer! (ATK: 2500)

Now I'll activate Miracle Fusion! I'll banish Wingman and Neos in my graveyard to fusion summon this special hero of mine… WAKE UP… Your Elemental Hero!" (ATK: 3100)

The Supreme King stood silent for a moment before speaking. "Where's your monster?"

Suddenly, a transparent version of Elemental Hero Wildedge appears on Beta Jaden's field. "Wake up your Elemental Hero isn't a monster that takes physical form." Explains Beta Jaden. "It is the spirit that dwells within every hero no matter who they are or where they come from. The best that the hero archetype has to offer." The image of Wildedge then changed into Neo Bubbleman for a second before changing into Elemental Hero Tempest.

"And after all of that… I still have my normal summon… Here's Elemental Hero Stratos! (ATK: 1800) And with its effect, your field spell is no more!"

Beta Jaden then grins. "Now it's time for battle… Destroyer Phoenix Enforcer decreases all your monsters attack points by 200 for every hero in my graveyard… And right now… I count eight. First, I'll have Stratos attack Malicious Bane! (ATK: 1400)"

"Malicious Bane cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects!" Shouted The Supreme King. "You still take the damage!" LP - 7600

"Wonder Driver and Phoenix Enforcer will also attack Malicious Bane!" LP - 6000

"Wake up your Elemental Hero can attack monsters equal to the number of monsters used to summon it… Plus, after damage calculation, you take damage equal to the original attack points of your monsters attacked by it."

The Supreme King's mouth began to hang wide open. "But… That… Means…"

"Heh… I WIN!" Beta Jaden's last monster transformed into transparent versions of Wildedge and Flame Wingman. They both attacked the weakened Infernal Wing and Infernal Devicer; causing a massive explosion on the Supreme King's side of the field. Knocking the helmet off his head. "AAAHH!" LP 0

Beta Jaden smirks again as his monsters vanish from the field. "They call you The Supreme King? They clearly haven't seen a duel like THIS before."

The Supreme King fell to his knees. "I fought my hardest… but I… never stood a chance… That wasn't… That wasn't even a battle…" He then found himself smiling. It was a small smile but it was one that was forced on his face by the core of his spirit. A single tear then ran down his face.

"Maybe… this is what I've been looking for this whole time… I had become deluded. Everybody I've fought up until now was weaker and I knew it… I had never faced an opponent with strength that surpassed mine, so… In a way… I have never truly won a battle."

Beta Jaden was about to talk back when he noticed somebody teleport behind the lamenting Supreme King. He looks a lot like Visas, but there's something different about him. He looks a lot more vibrant.

Then it hit him. This must be the very first fragment of Visas. Before Riseheart, Reinoheart, and Reichheart.

"RIUMHEART!?" Visas shouted in disbelief. "What are YOU doing here!?"

The Supreme King looks up at the figure looking down at him. But before he could say a word, Riumheart grabbed his throat and lifted him off the ground. "AAAHH!"

Beta Jaden could only watch as the fragment of Visas proceeded to kill his opponent. Light was pouring out of the Supreme King's eyes before he fell silent.

Riumheart dropped the Supreme King's lifeless body on the ground before looking at Beta Jaden. "My sincerest apologies, Jaden Yuki… whenever I see somebody who wields the Gentle Darkness, I have this uncontrollable urge to… well, I've shown you, didn't I?"

Beta Jaden then raised up his duel disk. "I've beaten both the Supreme King and that red counterpart of yours in only a single turn! What makes you think I won't get rid of you just as easily!?"

Riumheart smirks. "I came here because I was interested in what my inferior self had been doing. It turns out acquainting yourself with people who play a card game really well does have its benefits."

Now it's Visas' turn to speak up. "Riumheart… You wish for me to find somebody worthy for you to duel? It might take me some time, but I think I can pull it off… You know what'll happen if you lose, right?"

"I don't plan on losing." Said Riumheart. "I'm doing this for the same reason you're taking duelists out of their universes and having them fight each other… for fun."

"Now you're speaking my language!" Beta Jaden shouted out. "Let's do this! I'm all fired up! Right here! Right now! Let me see what you're made of, Riumheart!"

Visas looks at Beta Jaden. "I've heard enough out of you! The next person who will duel you in this tournament will be the winner of the next duel that'll take place here. Who will the two duelists in Round 2 be? I don't know yet."

Riumheart smirked. "Take all the time you need… because in the end… I know that it'll be me who'll stand on top of all the rest."

If I'm going to make a whole tournament arc out of this, there'll be a total of 32 duelists. Just like the 32 fighters in Kengan Ashura. The best fighting tournament in the entirety of anime in my opinion. Updates to this story will be extremely slow if there are any at all. I'm going the pace I'm most comfortable with. Will I be including oc's from other fanfiction authors? Maybe. That's a question for the future me to answer.
