At this point, I've managed to outline the remainder of the tournament. Updates, however, will still be slow at least from my perspective. There are also at least two other writers I'd like to get in contact with before long. We'll see how things turn out.

"It's now time for the second match of the tournament! Introducing our first duelist! Straight from Duel Academy Gamma!"

A handsome, blonde man in his late teens walks into the arena. Smiling as his theme song plays overhead.

ZiNG - The Emperor

"Yuzurenai mono wa, hoka ni yuzuru na!

Kodoku no nakade ikinuita nda!

Nani mo osoreru mono nado nai sa koete misete kure yo!

Genkai no saki!"

Visas continues. "Talented doesn't even begin to describe this man! Having only played Duel Monsters for all of three years and hasn't lost once since he's enrolled in his academy! He has the ability to pinpoint an opponent's weakness after seeing them in action only one time!

In additon to that, he can also compose strategies capable of taking down opponents he knows absolutely nothing about as evidenced by his previous appearance in a Visas Tournament!

With a duel record standing at an impressive 120 wins and zero losses, we're expecting nothing less than an epic performance from him!

Please give a warm welcome to… ALEXANDER RHODES!"

Alex smiles while listening to his theme song finish.

"WAKE UP! SEE THE EMPEROR!

WAKE UP! SEE THE EMPEROR!

WAKE UP! SEE THE EMPEROR!

WAKE UP! SEE THE EMPEROR!

WAKE UP! TO DESPAIR!"

"I couldn't have picked a better song myself."

"And now introducing his opponent!" Announces Visas.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel Background Music - Keycard Theme #10

"A Duel Monsters Pro Circuit champion who has played this game his entire life! At only 21 years old, he's become the youngest in his world to earn this achievement and now he's participating in this tournament to see where he stands on a multiversal scale… He is a new face in the Visas Tournament Series!

From Cairo, Egypt… Known as The Pharaoh's Strongest Soldier… Please welcome… JAMES HASSAN!"

A duelist who looks a bit older than Alex walks onto the arena. He has black hair and light-brown skin, showing that he's bi-racial.

The two duelists smile at each other. "Oh, this is going to be fun…" "Let's get this started… emperor."

DUEL

Alexander Rhodes - LP 8000

VS

James Hassan - LP 8000

"I'll be starting this duel off, if you don't mind." Alex drew his starting hand. "I'll start off with an oldie… but a goodie… By discarding one water attribute monster, I can special summon Icejade Ran Aegirine! (DEF: 2500) And when it's summoned by its own effect, I can summon a Level 3 token beside it! (DEF: 0)"

James smirks. "Oh, I know exactly what you're going to bring out."

Alex chuckles to himself. "Yeah… I tune both my monsters to synchro summon Level 10 Icejade Gymir Aegirine! (ATK: 3000) I'll set one card face down and end my turn."

"It's my turn. I draw." James draws a card. "I'll activate a monster effect in my hand… Shield of the Millenium Dynasty. I can place it in my spell/trap zone as if it's a continuous spell, now for it's other effect… I pay 2000 life points to fetch Millenium Ankh from my deck. But not before it special summons itself! (DEF: 3000) " LP 6000

Alex tilts his head. "Yeah… me and people who play Exodia don't get along very well… but I still don't have anything against you."

"Well, everybody's gotta lose sometime, right?" James points at him. "My cards haven't let me down so far. Now where was I… oh yeah.

From my hand… I activate Millenium Ankh… allowing me to special summon-"

"HOLD IT!" Alex shouted. "I'll use my set card! Solemn Warning! By paying 2000 of my own life points, I can negate the activation of Millenium Ankh!" LP 6000

James sent his spell card to the graveyard. "You're lucky I didn't have my Golem, otherwise you'd be cooked… I have nothing else. I end my turn."

"Then it's my turn. I draw!" Alex draws a card. "I activate a spell card… Medallion of the Ice Barrier!"

"Ice Barrier?" James raises an eyebrow. "I've never played against that deck before."

"Then let me be the first to show you." Said Alex. "Medallion lets me fetch Revealer of the Ice Barrier to my hand… I'll then normal summon it! (ATK: 1700) Now for it's effect: I'll discard Mirror Mage of the Ice Barrier to special summon Georgius, Swordsman of the Ice Barrier from my deck! (DEF: 1200)

Before Georgius' effect activates, Mirror Mage's effect goes off in the graveyard! Allowing me to fetch Freezing Chains of the Ice Barrier! Georgius special summons back Mirror Mage (DEF: 400)

But they're not going to stay on the field for very long… Mirror Mage's other effect goes off, tributing Georgius to special summon three Ice Barrier tokens! (DEF: 0) Also its level increases to 5!"

James gasps. "You're going to synchro summon again!?"

"Yes! I tune level 5 Mirror Mage with one of my tokens to synchro summon Coral Dragon! (ATK: 2400) Now since Coral Dragon is a tuner… I can tune it with my remaining tokens to synchro summon level 8 Adamancipator Risen - Dragite! (ATK: 3000) And when Coral Dragon's sent to the graveyard, I draw a card!

Next, I activate the Freezing Chains of the Ice Barrier spell card! Allowing me to summon back from the graveyard, my Mirror Mage! Now… I'll tune it along with Adamancipator Risen! Synchro summon Level 10 Lancea, Ancestral Dragon of the Ice Mountain! (ATK: 3300)"

James took a step back. "TWO Level 10 Ice Synchros!?"

Alex smirks. "I just LOVE playing with this deck! I'll now attack your shield with Lancea! Then I'll attack you directly with Gymir Aegirine and Revealer!

James Hassan - LP 1300

Want to keep going? That Exodia monster of yours isn't going to get very far with life points like that."

James took a moment to catch his breath. "It… isn't over… until the last card is played… It's my turn… I draw…"

James looks at the card he just drew. " Threatening Roar. This should last me another turn. Let's see how Alex is going to react to THIS!"

"I activate the effect… of LAVA GOLEM!"

"Huh? Lava Golem?" Said Alex. "You're planning to TRIBUTE your way out of your problem?"

James points at Alex's monster. "Say goodbye to your Level 10's! And hello to a monster that'll bring the heat!"

Alex then found himself encased in a metal cage underneath a massive lava monster dripping onto him. "Is this supposed to scare me!? I activate the effect of Lancea in my graveyard!"

"Huh? Lancea has a graveyard effect!?"

"When Lancea in my possession leaves the field because of a card that YOU play, I can special summon any Ice Barrier synchro monster from my extra deck… And it's also treated as a Synchro summon!" "WHAT!?"

"From my extra deck… I Synchro summon Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier!" (ATK: 2700)

James looks up at Alex's new monster. "You wanted me to get rid of Lancea… So you can summon THAT!"

Alex continues. "Trishula will remove your shield from your graveyard… as well as a random card in your hand…"

One of Trishula's heads froze a random card in James' hand. Which reveals it to Alex.

"The head of Exodia the Forbidden One." He shook his head. "You know… I don't really blame you… or your skills… but no matter what cards you play… Exodia has its own unique problems… I'm sure we can agree on that."

James looks down at the ground. "I… I surrender, Alex. I can't go any more."

"Hm?" Alex lifts his head. "You're giving up? Can't say I blame you." James - 0 LP

"And there you have it, folks!" Visas announces again as the monsters on the field vanish. "Alexander Rhodes has advanced to the next round where he will be facing off against Obelisk Blue Jaden Yuki! What's going to happen next!? Stick around to find out!"

"It's good to see you again, Jaden." The victors of each duel spend their time in the lounge: A secluded part of the Visas Duel Coliseum. A large television was installed so they could watch the duels alongside everybody else watching.

Beta Jaden stood with his arms folded watching the screen. "I knew you were good… but I didn't think you'd play in the way that you did."

They stayed silent for a little while longer before Jaden spoke again. "You know you could have… You could have just… used Coral Dragon's effect to get rid of the shield… and you could have just won the duel there… You didn't have to synchro summon anymore."

"Oh come on, man." Alex smiles at him. "I play this game to have fun… If I just bulldoze over everybody the second I get the chance, It'd get boring pretty quick… I'd have to quit the game and move on to something else."

"Well…" Jaden scratches the back of his head. "I hope to give you more of a challenge than he did."
