Two worlds collide
Chapter 1 A tale of two worlds
Author's note; This is an alternate version where Kion never got his scar, so the lion guard didn't leave for the tree of life so they still live in the Pridelands. And this story takes place after the vision of shadows arc.
A month had past since the battle between the Pridelanders and the outsiders and the Pridelands were very peaceful.
Not long after the battle Kion and the lion guard returned to the Pridelands after spending the past few months in the Outlands searching for a way to defeat Scar. They learned new powers about the roar and Kion used it to send Scar back to the underworld.
After his defeat Janja's clan decided to change sides to Jasiri's clan and Jasiri was now in charge of the Outlands.
Upon returning home, they learned of Zira's death and how Kion's sister Kiara and Kovu had convinced the outsiders to change sides too. They also learned in their absence, Kovu's older sister Vitani had started her own lion guard with four other outsider lionesses: Imara, Kasi, Shabaha and Tazama.
At first Kion and Vitani had a hard time getting along. They were quick to accept each other as in laws, but Kion wasn't happy about Vitani's lion guard now that he was back. But after a while they became friends and respective to each other. They became leaders of their own respective guards. They took turns patrolling the Pridelands. Kion's guard would go through half the Pridelands and Vitani's guard would go through the other half, and then they would patrol the halves of the Pridelands the other guard went through. And they occasionally worked together.
The rest of the lion guards became friends too.
Fuli and Kasi were good friends; they were both the fastest, and they enjoy racing each other when they weren't patrolling.
Bunga and Shabaha became best friends due to their brave personalities and crazy sides and would always challenge each other brave and daring challenges.
Beshte and Imara worked great together too; they admired each other for their strength and confidence and were always appreciative to each other's help for the extra strength.
Ono and Tazama had a great deal of respect for each other. Whenever both lion guards did patrols at night, Ono was very grateful for Tazama's night vision as she could see in total darkness.
The king of the Pridelands Simba couldn't have been prouder of both his daughter and the two lion guards.
…
It was a sunny and warm day in the forest. Bramblestar, Thunderclan's leader was getting up for the day.
"Good morning Bramblestar," came a cheerful voice. Bramblestar looked around and smiled. His mate Squirrelflight and the clan's deputy entered the leader's den and nuzzled her mate.
"Good morning Squirrelflight," said Bramblestar. "I'm planning on leading the dawn patrol if you care to join me."
"Of course, I would" chuckled Squirrelflight flicking her tail against her mate's cheek.
Bramblestar and Squirrelflight walked through the forest with Lionblaze, Twigbranch and her mate Finleap. Ivypool one of the current queen's in Thunderclan was there too. She had left her kits in the care of her mate Fernsong so she could go out for a walk.
It seemed like another average day in the forest. They cats couldn't see any rouges or cats from other clans or any predators. But then there was something they had never seen in the territory before.
"What's that?" gasped Finleap. The other cats turned to look, there was a cave on the territory.
"It looks like a cave" muttered Squirrelflight.
"You think it's a fox's den?" asked Twigbranch.
"No," said Ivypool to her former apprentice. "I don't smell fox scent. Besides it looks too small to come from a fox.
"You think Starclan has anything to do with this cave?" asked Squirrelflight.
"I don't know," said Bramblestar unsurely. "Go back and ask Leafpool to see."
Squirrelflight went back to the camp, a few moments later she returned with her sister Leafpool one of the clan's medicine cats.
"Did Starclan send any messages about the cave Leafpool?" asked Bramblestar.
Leafpool looked at the cave and walked closer to the cave.
"No," she said. She was just as surprised as the rest of her clanmates about the cave. "They never told me any prophecies or omens about this cave."
"Maybe it's always been here and we've never noticed it before," said Lionblaze.
"Or it could be one of those tunnels like the ones Hollyleaf had been staying in" suggested Ivypool.
"Maybe we should look inside to see if anything's in there" declared Bramblestar.
Cautiously the dark brown tabby peered inside. The cave was empty, but to his surprise there was a tunnel.
"There's a tunnel in there!" he called Bramblestar.
"Maybe we should see where it goes" suggested Lionblaze.
The other cats exchanged looks and agreed. They walked inside and went through the tunnels.
They went on for a few minutes until Bramblestar spoke up.
"I can see a light!" he called.
The cats followed Bramblestar outside the cave. And when they left the cave, they could see such a wonderous sight.
The area was beautiful. There was a clear plain with lush grass and trees many feet apart. It wasn't a forested area like they're territory, but it was still full of trees too.
"Where are we?" asked Twigbranch breathlessly.
"I don't think we're in the forest anymore" muttered Leafpool.
"Maybe we should go back," said Squirrelflight.
"I think we should look around a bit," said Bramblestar. "Starclan might've sent us here for a reason."
The other cats were unsure, but they trusted their leader.
…
Meanwhile Kion and Vitani were on patrols with their lion guards. It was one of those occasions where they'd do their patrols together.
The patrol stopped underneath a tree to rest for a minute and Ono flew down from the sky and landed on a log.
"Ono," said Kion. "How's it looking."
"All's clear from Kilio valley and Ndefu grove," reported Ono. What he didn't notice was that a pair of paws were creeping up on the log. One was ginger and the other was white.
"Ono, look out!" cried Vitani.
Ono turned around in surprise to see a ginger-furred animal getting ready to pounce on him. Ono squawked in horror which startled Squirrelflight. He leapt back and fell on her back.
The lion guard looked to see Squirrelflight and a bunch of other animals. Although they all had fur in different colors and patterns, they noticed that they were all the same animal.
The cats looked up in surprise at the group of mixed animals.
"Scatter!" cried Bramblestar helping his mate to her paws.
The cats took off in different directions.
"Wait!" cried Kion.
The guard scattered out trying to catch up with the cats.
Ivypool leapt on to the trunk of a tree and climbed it.
"Fuli, Kasi, she went up that tree!" called Tazama.
"Thanks, Tazama!" replied Kasi.
Kasi leapt up on to the branch.
"Come on," said Kasi trying to sound gentle. "We just wanna talk."
Ivypool was surprised to hear her talk, but she wasn't gonna stick around. She jumped down and jumped on Fuli sinking her claws into her pelt.
Fuli gasped in pain and managed to throw the silver and white tabby off her.
Twigbranch and Finleap ran as fast as they could and then Bunga leapt in front of them.
"Badger!" the two cats cried.
Before Bunga could assure him, he wasn't gonna hurt them, Finleap pounced on Bunga and pinned him to the ground.
Finleap snarled at Bunga and before he could raise a paw, Beshte suddenly rammed him off Bunga.
"You, okay?" asked Twigbranch checking on her mate.
"I think so" groaned Finleap.
"Everyone stop!" cried Kion.
Everyone stopped what they were doing to look at Kion. Everyone seemed to calm down.
Kion calmly walked up to the cats. The cats looked back at the mixed group of animals.
"Who are you?" asked Kion.
"I am Bramblestar," Bramblestar spoke up. "Leader of Thunderclan, and this is my deputy and mate Squirrelflight." He guided his direction to Squirrelflight. "And some of our warriors, Lionblaze, Twigbranch, Finleap and Ivypool. And one of our medicine cats Leafpool."
"I'm Kion," introduced Kion kindly. "Leader of the lion guard and prince of the Pridelands. This is Vitani my co-leader and our friends Fuli, Bunga, Beshte, Ono, Imara, Kasi, Tazama and Shabaha."
"Lions?" said Twigbranch. "I thought you were myths."
"Well apparently we're real" retorted Shabaha and Kasi nodded in agreement.
"Your friends with a badger?" asked Ivypool crocking her eyebrow.
"I'm a honey badger actually" corrected Bunga.
"There's a difference?" huffed Ivypool wrinkling her nose. "Badgers are predators to us cats, they get into our camp and steal kits."
"Don't worry," assured Beshte. "Bunga's friendly."
"Yeah," said Bunga. "I prefer insects over kits anyway."
"What are you anyway?" asked Ivypool. "We've never seen your kind of animals where we're from anyway."
"I'm a hippo" said Beshte.
"And I'm a cheetah," added Fuli.
"I've heard of lions, tigers and leopards," said Bramblestar in amazement. "But never cheetahs."
"They seemed to look like leopards from what I've heard in nursery tales," added Squirrelflight inspecting Fuli. "Are leopards and tigers real too."
Fuli nodded in confirmation.
"If you live here," said Bramblestar. "Can you tell us where we are."
"You're in the Pridelands" said Imara.
Just then two more lions showed up. The male lion had reddish-brown fur, a dark brown mane and green eyes. The female had orangey-gold fur and reddish-brown eyes.
"Who are they?" asked Leafpool.
"That's my sister Kiara and Vitani's brother Kovu," explained Kion. "They're mates."
"What was all the noise about Kion?" asked Kiara.
"And who are they?" asked Kovu noticing the cats.
"They're cats Kovu," said Kion. "They claim they come from a clan in a forest called Thunderclan. This is their leader Bramblestar, the deputy Squirrelflight. The medicine cat Leafpool and some of their warriors Lionblaze, Twigbranch, Finleap and Ivypool."
"You have weird names," said Kiara. Though she said it in a way that wasn't mean.
"They're warrior names," declared Lionblaze. "All the cats in the clans have them."
"Clans?" said Tazama.
"Yes," explained Bramblestar. "There are five clans, ours is Thunderclan. The other four are Shadowclan, Windclan, Riverclan and Skyclan."
The Pridelanders listened with interest."
"Please come back to Priderock with us," said Kiara. "My parents rule the Pridelands, and I think they'll want to meet you."
"We should be getting back home though," said Leafpool unsurely. "Our clan will think we were attacked by one of the other clans or by predators if we don't get back soon."
"You don't live around here?" asked Beshte.
"No," said Bramblestar. "All I know is we were patrolling our territory and we came across a cave, we walked through the tunnel and now we're here."
"Maybe my parents can figure out what's going on" said Kion.
The cats looked at each other unsurely, but agreed to see the rulers of the Pridelands anyway.
