Fateful Star Seed - (JJBA x Nanoha)

Warning: This happens a year after JJBA Part 4 and around Nanoha Force.

It was 2000, the new millennium. Many were celebrating it, others were just ignoring it as another year of this world going around. To a rare few, this was a year of mourning and... Kujo Jotaro was quite frustrated that he was part of this last category.

Truth be told, Jotaro had not expected for death to claim anyone of his family. And the fact this happened so suddenly and with someone he swore to protect the moment he put a ring on her... Jotaro was done. He was done trying to be aloof, trying to be away from those he cared out of this now foolish idea of protecting there and... trying to not connect with his daughter.

Kujo Lena, his beloved wife, died in a car accident merely a month ago. The woman had been struck by a drunk driver, the event leading to a mad rush back home from Jotaro as he dropped his case and took the first flight to California as quickly as humanly possible.

When he departed for home, he was told only three things: Lena's condition was critical, Jolyne was fine, and Joseph had already mustered the insanely big treasury of the Speedwagon Foundation to assist Lena's medical fees.

As he arrived, he got to the hospital only to find the doctor delivering the grim news - she died. His wife died.

Kujo Jotaro... cried.

It was a rare event for him to break in tears. A towering man with a muscular frame like him hardly broke down to this extent. But it was the first time Jolyne saw her father collapse in such an emotional fit. And it was the first time his daughter saw the grief of his born from genuine care.

The offered money was used for the funeral service. Everyone that knew Lena and that were close to the Joestar/Kujo family was there. Holly, Jotaro's mother, offered some kind words, while Kujo Sadao, the ever-missing father, was there to provide a rather grim reminder of how he too cared for his family - a deadbeat father... both were akin to that at this point.

The casket was kept closed, but Jolyne was nontheless bawling her eyes out over the fine wood Joseph had paid for. She had resented her father so much for a nine years-old. "Why weren't you there to save her, daddy!"

The accusation of the child sharply struck him silent, but even in her anger towards him, the girl allowed him to pat her back in a rare display of genuine remorse. He had been busy with another investigation over Dio's cult and he came to realize this was no longer a viable career.

He already had a job, the old man had others to help and without any major Stand Users remaining after that trip in Morioh just last year, Jotaro knew he could no longer pursue this life-burning job.

He had duties as a widowed father. And while it was frustrating to 'let go' of this intense work, his grandfather had been willing to ease up the process- he would receive a monthly donation from Joseph's own coffers, the old man filthy rich to the point that this allowance was just a small drop from the big bucket.

Jotaro would have refused it had he not decided to ask for a few months off his regular job. He needed to take the right kind of step for Jolyne- no more distractions, no more avoidances. He was her father and... he could no longer expect others to step in with this role. The girl was spent and asleep by the time the function was over.

Jotaro brought her to his car and, after ignoring his mother's plea to be there to help them after this event, the man drove off to their home. Maybe it was selfish of him now more than ever, but he just wanted to be home with Jolyne... away from trouble.

That was the plan. A new life without having to worry about the scary things that lurked in this world.

More researching on dolphins, giving his daughter a bright future and-

Jotaro swerved the car as he saw something approaching rapidly from behind it.

The sudden trembling caused Jolyne to be snapped awake, the girl's eyes wide open from the very moment the car stopped.

"D-Daddy-"

"It's alright, Jolyne." Jotaro muttered automatically, even though he had a feeling this was far from 'alright'.

Removing her belt and his, Jotaro picked his daughter in his arms and got out of the car. The entity that had tried to ram into them was a behemoth of a monster. A bulking creature wiht long spiky blue hair that slowly turned to greet them and... Jotaro narrowed his eyes at the demonic face the entity had.

Part of him thought it was a Stand but- no, this was a proper individual entity. Then who was he looking at and why was it attacking them?

"Curious. You sure have some interesting reaction time, Kujo Jotaro."

"Who are you?"

"I am a proud member of the Huckebein family... and I am here to claim someone that is part of our family and that shall serve her purpose in our goals."

What?

Jotaro's mind drew a blank at this explanation - 'part of their family' and... her?

It didn't take too long for the still-grieving widowed man to know what this implied.

"You are not taking Jolyne!"

"Daddy," The girl exclaimed, burrowing her face against his dark blouse under his jacket. "D-Don't go!"

The fearful voice coming from his daughter further stirred his inner wrath over this troublemaker. And the tall behemoth hummed.

"I am afraid this is not a choice for you to make, Kujo. Your daughter shall come with us and take her place as-"

The monster took a step too close and suddenly found itself slamming face-first on the ground following a loud and yet 'invisible'-

"ORA!" ï½¢Star Platinumï½£ exclaimed, Jotaro's Stand masterfully landing a proper punch against the monster's left cheek, the rotation causing it to kiss the asphalt. Surprise flashed from within the posture of the tall creature, but it shrugged off the punch as if it was nothing.

Jotaro had worried about this thing- that he may not have enough power to face this sort of creature. Speed? He had a feeling the bastard could outpace him too. While he used to prefer direct confrontations in the past, Jotaro's experience in Morioh had taught him the importance of 'picking the right fights' and... dodging the right one.

'Running away' was quite the hilarious method used by the Joestar family to avoid dangerous skirmishes, but he couldn't outrun this monster as he got up.

"How did you... punch me?" He questioned, sounding more shocked than angered by this reaction and... he couldn't see his stand.

Jotaro found this to be a good enough detail to keep in mind as-

"You're wasting time," A new voice remarked from behind Jotaro, and the man glanced over his shoulder to see a woman walking through a... portal. "Just get the kid and let's get to base before-"

The situation had gotten too dangerous. If he was already struggling with the monster, now this ally of it may cause him more grief. He couldn't risk it any further, but now he had a way out - the portal that was slowly closing behind the red-haired girl.

The ability of could have lasted him barely two to three seconds. If he pushed it, he could rely on five seconds, maybe six. It was a risky move considering the detrimental effects of keeping the time stop going for too long but- his daughter was in peril, and he was the only one she had left right now to protect her.

He wasn't planning to fail again.

"ï½¢Star Platinum: The Worldï½£!"

Right as he uttered these words, the two individuals rushed to him, but they were unable to reach him as the world froze in time. Still holding Jolyne, Jotaro turned and rushed around the redhead, ï½¢Star Platinumï½£ slamming a punch on her exposed midriff to cause a distraction in case he didn't make it through the portal, but he managed to make it through just in time and... he kept on rushing once he was through it.

The timestop lasted five seconds, and, as the pause finished, he felt his heart burning painfully. He had never stressed himself like this, and he felt like he was soon to have a heart attack. He barely made it out of the alley beyond the rift that he was diving for another nearby, soon slumping against a wall as he allowed Jolyne back to the ground.

"D-Daddy!" The child wept, keeping crouched by the side and hugging him tightly even as he felt like his chest was about to explode. "Don't go- don't die."

Those words hurt Jotaro more, this time hitting the open wound of his wife's recent passing. He felt helpless as he couldn't just use ï½¢Star Platinumï½£ to restart his heart when it had already been a risk back when he fought Dio. He just felt himself growing frailer by the second- he wasn't dying, but he was losing grasp on reality - which may be akin to death considering they were in an unfamiliar setting.

"I-I am fine, Jolyne. I am not dying."

His daughter still sobbed, her fear too strong to be soothed by his weak efforts. The fact he was losing consciousness didn't help but... everything went dark as he still hugged his daughter close, his body unwilling to comply to his desire to keep awake and...

Soon it was Jolyne's turn to act to save her father.

AN

A most bizarre event. Jolyne will have to ask a kind stranger's help with Jotaro and... she is most intrigued by this turn of events.
