Fateful Star Seed 2 - (JJBA x Nanoha)

It was a fine morning for a walk.

As much as one could say that Takamachi Nanoha had grown out of her more childish habits, the notion of taking lone walks was not one of those missing elements. The young woman had been on a tight job for many years now between active duty for the Time-Space Administrative Bureau and aerial instructor as she grew accustomed to the life of 'mother'.

Vivio was growing up well, she had nothing to complain about her strong girl even as she still remembered her own unease at taking upon herself such a responsibility. Nanoha had been worried that she didn't have the skills to handle this duty, but then she was reminded that she wasn't alone.

All of her friends helped and... Fate was there. Always there for her.

Thinking of her closest friend, Nanoha felt a hint of a blush spread on her cheeks. She had done very little to show her affection for the blonde in recent years due to their difficult work, but that didn't mean she didn't know Fate liked her back. Even now, as they were in a lengthy mission to contain the Eclipse Crisis, she still couldn't stop wondering when it would be a good time to stop working.

They had the money, they had the home and a family. They also had each other and... they had been doing this very tedious chore of keeping the peace since they were nine. It was only fair that Nanoha contemplated an early retirement to spend with the rest of her new family.

Still, today wasn't the day. This mission was another big one as this Eclipse Crisis involved a viral epidemic that was turning humans in living weapons- as far as Nanoha knew, this was quite the dangerous escalation as those hit by the virus tended to obtain a rather terrifying healing factor and one that was the fatal cause of 'death' for those infected by it.

After a certain mark, the healing factor becomes so unstable that bodies mutate into blobs of mindless meat.

The fact that this was an old virus from the times of Ancient Belka was also concerning since no one had a cure ready to fix this sort of mess.

Right now the duty of Special Duty Section 6 was to establish quarantines and deal with any potential interloper that may be involved in either spreading the virus or securing subjects for unwarranted experiments.

And this job took her to Ruwella. The place seemed to have a high chance to have agents of the Huckebein Family, a notorious terrorist group, within its settlements.

A planetary-wide search was launched after precautions were made to monitor any ships entering or leaving Ruwella, leaving the ground work to the bulk of the force assigned to the case. Despite their considerable size, however, the chore was still spreading them thin over the various cities around.

As far as Nanoha could tell, this major city she had been staying at for less than a week was far from troubled by any Huckebein agent. She would be moving to her next stop by the end of the week, but she still found the place worthy of a few pleasant morning walks.

All was nice and well for her as she enjoyed a 'much-needed break', when she suddenly found her stroll interrupted by a most unusual scene. A young girl a little younger than Vivio was rushing from the opposite direction. She had some locks of mostly black hair painted green and her eyes were a pretty shade of emerald.

"H-Help!"

Nanoha paused and tensed up. She felt a rush as her own mind geared with motherly concern- a statement that she never thought could be this true but, since she had enough worries with Vivio, it was fair to say she had well-entered motherhood at this point.

"Everything will be fine," The woman spoke carefully, offering a kind smile as she briefly knelt by the child. "My name is Nanoha, what's your name?"

"J-Jolyne. Miss, my daddy- we were attacked by scary people and now- now he is sick."

That raised several alarms with Nanoha, worrying that the girl's father had been claimed by the Eclipse virus. "Lead the way, Jolyne."

The girl nodded, taking her hand and guiding the woman to where her parent was. The trip wasn't long, but Nanoha was relieved by the fact the man didn't sport any sign of the virus. She will have to have him verified by Shamal, but right now the important thing was to get him to safety. The issue was that the tall slumped man, wearing a marine researcher outfit as she could tell by the few sea-related symbols on it, was heavy and... Nanoha knew she wasn't fate.

She may have put more muscles due to exercises, but she was still a 'lovable magic cannon' and not a physical specialist.

Should I call Fate? Would that be too embarrassing?

While Nanoha thought of the best way to move the man around without blowing her cover, Jolyne suddenly gasped and latched onto her.

"Nanoha-san, it's one of them!"

Tensing up, Nanoha remembered the duo had been attacked but... she didn't expect to be looking at an actual Huckebein member leaning at the entrance of the alley. The red-haired woman appeared to be familiar, and the brunette narrowed her eyes at her.

"You are Arnage of the Huckebein family."

The woman grinned. "Hm, I am that known? Well yes, that's my name, but I am not in the mood for presentations, I need the girl - now."

Nanoha hugged tightly the child, Jolyne shivering in unease over the scary situation.

"So? What will it be, lady? The kid or your life?"

Gritting her teeth, Nanoha knew that she couldn't let the girl be hurt but... Arnage had her device (which looked like a gun) aimed at them both. Transforming would take too long and she could get hurt in the process so she couldn't do much but hope that either Vita or someone else of the group would find her.

"ï½¢Star Platinumï½£..."

Nanoha heard someone was talking behind them, and unconsciously turned to see if the man had woken up but-

"The World!"

A blink, and he was... gone from her gaze.

What?

"Hm, what the hell are you looking at you-!"

Nanoha turned rapidly back to Arnage, and shock filled her gaze as she saw the redhead appearing stunned as someone stood right behind her. The unconscious man...

Was no longer unconscious.

"Y-You- How did you-"

"ORA!" A loud voice exclaimed, and Nanoha's surprise doubled over the sight of a humanoid spirit manifesting from the man. Bluish and with green details, the muscular behemoth struck the redhead and had her slammed against the wall.

"Y-You-"

But there was no hesitation as the Huckebein agent was suddenly demolished by a barrage of angry punches. All of those rewarded by the loud noise of multiple 'ORA's rippling through the quiet. Nanoha had shifted to cover the eyes of the younger girl, but she couldn't look away as Arnage was reduced to a barely-conscious bruised woman.

The man responsible for this having all reasons and means to finish her off but... he just fixed his hat and glared as Arnage slowly fell to the ground, closing her eyes.

"Good grief," He mumbled, then he looked at her- no, he was looking at the girl. "Jolyne."

"D-Daddy!" The pure childish delight broke Nanoha out of her shaken expression, the girl leaving her caring embrace as she rushed up to her father, hardly looking at the unconscious woman on the ground. "You're alive."

"I told you that I wouldn't die, Jolyne," The man said and... slowly picked her up. "Are you hurt?"

"No daddy, what about you?"

"I am... a bit tired. Nothing else."

"Sure?" The girl pressed and the man hummed.

"I am fine, I promise you that."

That seemed enough to soothe the girl's mind but... it was now time for Nanoha to make her presence known to the man. She had hesitated due to the recent violent beating she saw inflicted on a foe but also because... she recognized those blue eyes from somewhere in the past. When? And where? She couldn't tell on the spot.

"My apologies, I suppose you are Jolyne's father."

"...Yes," The researcher confirmed quietly. "Who are you?"

"My name is Takamachi Nanoha. I am agent for the Time-Space Administrative Bureau, and I have to ask you a few questions and to stay here as I call other people to assist us, Mr."

"Kujo. Kujo Jotaro."

The name also felt familiar, but Nanoha merely nodded, deciding to not raise any awkward questions before having them all brought to a safer place. It was a bit awkward to explain what was giong on, but Nanoha was glad that the one that came picking them up was Fate.

And then she was not as glad when Fate pestered her with questions due to her own worry for her.

Indeed, Jotaro and Nanoha have met... once. And it was when they both were very young. Next time, Fate's POV!
