Topaz and emerald had been mashed together before them, while sapphire mingled with aquamarine to slide across the surface of the jewel. When it had been molded into that shape there had been far more sapphire and aquamarine at two of the extremes of the bead. More balance between the emerald and the topaz as well. Now the emerald appeared messy, spotted more in strange places with flecks of amber or fire opal sparking where it shouldn't have.

Its top tongue flickered out of its mouth thoughtfully before it slipped back within through the slit at the front of its mouth. The bottom tongue mirrored the top as coal began to burn its way into this little slit of emerald. Coal was a normal occurrence as occasionally the emerald would be struck with lightning, scarring the emerald and setting it alight with amber or fire opals. Naked white into coal though?

They had coiled their body to conserve warmth with all nine wings furled around it as multiple covers. While this enticing glittering little orb had glowed where it had been hung in the beginning. Yet now, as the body began to uncoil, shedding the skin that would swat into other glittering stars, destroying so much of the pleasant little environs it had been placed among.

Opening its top mouth, it felt the skin between its lips peel back as it began working its jaw into motion. Coal shouldn't have been showing up, in that area without amber or fire opals.. So reason shifted into the only other natural occurrence.

It was hungry though.

Salted earth was a detestable thing. For while salt 'came' from the earth, when it was liberally spread along soil meant for growing. It served as a poison draining or blocking anything necessary to help life grow in an area. Thus upsetting natural order, and blocking Black Rose Dragons very nature. Even if with time the salt would dilute and nature would reclaim what the salt had taken.

Black Rose Dragon wasn't known for patience despite her occasional snake like behavior.

Especially as this wasn't just simple salted earth.

Charred black and lifeless, the concrete had been burned to less than ash, the ground up rocks and sand that was used as the foundation of the roads was melted slag. The ground below that where the nature of the world was still untouched was smoldering with heat. Everyone might as well opted to have this battle next to an active volcano! But even volcanoes had their places in the natural order of replenishing the land.

The robots, with their hateful canons, had nothing to give back to the earth they were currently meticulously scarring with their weapons.

More over, they were upsetting Stardust, as the dragon dipped and sailed through the numerous lasers he just looked...

"Pathetic. Gods do all people look that stupid when they're in 'loooove'?" Archfiend growled as he began actively digging his sharp claws into one robot to pull its massive arm away from the world. 'Because if Jack is going to get that sappy because of Carly I think I want a new partner... Not Crow though, I need someone regal, proud! A warrior with a heart that could smite the sun! Not this...'

Not seeing his friend in recoil.

Everything about the earth looked wrong, 'felt' wrong so much so that even PowerTool Dragon was losing its core processing unit. By making the most obscenely loud noise possible, its alerts were merely wordless blares of sound. Which was fine, neither Archfiend or Jack were very good with computers. That was Yusei and Crow's areas.

But Rua was down there, and if the stupid robots made Godzilla rise up then what? The lizard was nothing against a dragon such as himself. But those blasts would possibly be a threat to the twins or even more kids!

While with Asuka's crowd a devastating fire had its own effect on the spirits that had been exposed to flames of such nature defied order by their definition. It wasn't that hideous napalm that had cruelly burned its way into Momoe and Junko's life.

"I get that this is just the effects of a fire... But it feels too..." Tutu muttered as she hovered above the ground. "Complete? Like fire burns tree, tree's burned body re nourishes the ground, but where's the nourishment from this?"

"Anti-matter isn't a toy to be played with, the fact that someone made machines capable of this is worrying." Cyber Phoenix

"But man can make this right? They're clearly not us," Cyber Blader pointed out as several other spirits stared at the desolation around them. What had once been towering proud buildings of Neo Domino had been melted into gray slagged out concrete. Only to once again be assaulted and was now black, lifeless the touch of God stripped from everything.

"They can but not on this level, the technology is here, but not this fine tuned, its comparing bicycles to space stations in complexity. Whoever built those knows how to build advance robots capable of firing anti-matter weaponry. Right now man kind can only just make those devices in stationary units confined to labs." Cyber Phoenix explained as it began searching for the nearest street level source of light. Something to help take the sense of absolute 'void' that the whole area now had.

"And play Duel Monsters on specially built motorcycles," a few voices added in the back, in the form of a small orange dragon, a fairy, and a demon.

While tucked away under a bit of now cinder shelter, Zalinka stood eyeing Ryu along with several other spirits. The deck was working, clearly enough now it had moved past the Ishtars and was calling down aid from her father's friend and the General. That left the General's Circle or trying to connect with the High Magician.

"What you thinking kid?" Zalinka asked as the boy stood there his hand hovering over the deck the way claw games would before decision time.

"Getting the Dark Magician would be great, but the others need help and Uncle's Circle could be more help. Since, given what I've always been told, Valon didn't really have 'spirits' he just had equip armor cards." The boy's face turned into a slightly confused frown, "though when I think on it their history seems weird. Because they're equip cards but they're not with a set direction of 'who' equips them. Like spell books go to spell casters type of stuff."

"Ohh that, yeah father told me about those." Zalinka nodded at the story her father told her. "Short form was that Pegasus created them for humans not duel spirits, since the game predates the creation of the Duel Spirit World. It was more like equip cards for those going into the Shadow Realm or help those playing a Shadow Game. One set was ever created and there's no reason to expand them." She explained, watching him as his expression became more focused.

"Then, I'll call on those cards, if they can equip and help the others, that takes priority." Ryu finally decided, 'Please, I know you don't know me, but I know if you're in my Uncles' Circle you must be the type to protect what matters to you! So please help me, help me protect what matters to me!'

Zalinka stood proud of the kid for how big his heart was, despite being a Vice President and having such an emotionally broken man for a father. Knowing her mothers' influence still had a good grip on the kid was heartening. More so when such actions brought a smile to Superia's face, given how her father said that Superia was a virtually naked version of his sister!

If she smiled so did Isis and that was a smile full of kindness, warmth, familial. Especially in a battle where only 6 people could actually do anything and they were pretty dependent on one of their numbers and the rest felt more like targets on a range. 'Can I believe? I mean I want to meet the soul that created you. I want to meet father's friends...'

Not that Superia answered.

Ryu did, not with word, but in action as he reached for the next card.

"I'm just glad that charging up those canons take a while regardless," Crow huffed as he continued dodging the lasers. Light provided by the weapons were nice, a split second to see where the attack was going to come from and afford them to move.

If they kept themselves hyper aware.

No human could do that though.

Though there was some light provided through Stardust Dragon's natural light orbs and PowerTool Dragon's offering of flood lights from both shoulders mounted lights. Great for seeing things, greater for blinding the unsuspecting who turned to look at it.

Yet in the suddenly hovering around said dragon, he could see something, a hope spot in a sense.

PowerTool Dragon suddenly produced a weapon that didn't really sit right with its profile. The dragon was clearly designed for useful construction in mind not combat. It could use drills and saws and such as weapons, but it was a walking construction site dragon. So the sudden manifestation of a new very combat looking attachment locking in over the dragons arm...

It was something for Crow to find noteworthy.

Instead of the safety muted yellows of the dragon or the dusty clean steel of the joints. It was the hard tones of military grade weaponry! Darker steel that fired a beam of its own that cut straight into the armored arm of one of the massive robots. A blast that left Crow completely amazed and only snapping out of it when he got nicked by a laser when Yusei yanked him away.

"Hey bro look! PowerTool suddenly got equipped with a weapon that did damage!"

Yusei glanced over and was taken aback by the truth of Crow's words. Almost as much as he was alarmed by the idea of the twins taking part of this battle...

"I told you don't engage the enemy Rua!" Yusei called out to said child, his eyes scanning the field for the boy while also trying to avoid being shot to death by lasers.

"I didn't Big brother! But look at the neat thing PowerTool can do! It hurt the robot!"

"Do you think its Ryu? Does he have equip cards that can do that? Because that doesn't look like something in PowerTool's support deck," Aki asked thoughtfully before returning her attention back to the lasers.

"Marufuji! Any changes in your group?" Yusei called out as several lasers began to coordinate onto his location.

Ryo looked over at his group huddled up on Spirits who were essentially dancing in place from the danger. "Stardust can't make... stardust right? Those orbs are the only thing he creates automatically?"

"'Stardust?'" Yusei repeated in confusion while Aki stepped in.

"Witch, could you check on them?"

"You know I'm supposed to be 'your' duel spirit right? Like by your side protecting 'you'..." Witch harrumphed as she disappeared, flying completely intangible she approached the group and was a bit surprised by what she saw.

Shields and pieces of armor were active in place around the group a chest piece here, an arm guard there, but being humans... 'Maybe they can't see it properly cuz they're humans, but Yusei can't see it either and he's a dragon... Aki can't... Hmmm...'

Taking to checking on the remaining kids she sought out the tunnel they had been using as protective cover. It was a sad sight now, the thick concrete and dirt that once held up and protected them from the Light Fight. Now its walls and ceiling were pitiful and thin, the fires from the robots probably stripped the last of its strength leaving it just a token affair of dirt. Maybe Black Rose Dragon could reinforce it, but Witch wasn't holding her breath.

While under the flimsy ceiling Witch went where Zalinka and Ryu had hidden themselves away and that's when she saw it. A new card had been drawn! As mind boggling as the idea of a deck that had never been able to work properly was starting to come alive. Witch found herself growing apprehensive given what it represented. If all the cards activated the idea was that God would return to them.

Which ideally would have been great! God would be proud of the humans for finding a clean energy solution. But how was He going to feel when He returned years after the fact and because Kaiba's son called them back? Not Kaiba himself? The conversation in the helicopter made her feel like Kaiba had given up, that he didn't believe or care anymore if they did. So what would happen if they did? It wasn't as though it was 'just' God. It was His divine court, one of whom was Kaiba's revered older brother.

Would they age? Would they have to move into the Duel Spirit World? Was that 'why' the Duel Spirit World was created...?

"Oh hi Witch how is it looking out there?" Zalinka asked as she caught sight of Witch caught in a thought. A sharp sudden snap helping Zalinka in getting Witchs' attention.

"Huh?" Witch snapped out of her thoughts at the question and gave a half shrug. "Better now that the others fighting have those nice gifts Ryu gave them. Though how is this shelter still up? The fire consumed anything viable, it should just be ashes." Witch inquired and was answered by a cheery half raised hand via Superia. "Oh I see..."

"Think we should get out anyway?" Zalinka asked looking amid all the spirits, even if seeing Bastest was difficult due to their dark nature and the pitch black tunnel.

"I would say yes, because the longer you stay hidden, the more likely someone could forget you're here and do something to squish you." Witch pointed out as she gestured around at the flaking walls and the way the entrance appeared semi blocked. The ashes were giving it this spotted look and it wasn't as though Ryu or Zalinka adopted the Elder Kaiba's love of pure white, (And his divine status allowing it to 'stay' white through the movings of heaven and hell.)

"Agreed, nowhere is really safe, though Superia is doing a great job. I'd hate to make her job harder," Ryu commented as he began trekking his way through the ashes. A difficult process as the ash was up to his knees, and probably the shins of the others fighting.

"This was a good idea..." Zalinka grunted as she also began walking, her feet giving this dry sloshing sound as she pulled at her leg to get it up. "We stood still so long I didn't even notice the ash was quietly burying us," she confessed as she struggled to push forward. "Its like quicksand..."

Bastest's ears twitched as they lifted themselves up above the miring ash and made themselves solid. A trilling sound came forth as they pushed their body against Zalinka to get her attention and between the pair she managed to get on top of the ashes.

"Thank you Bastest." Giving the cat Spirit a solid ear rub she turned her attention to Ryu and helped pull the kid up as well.

"Good, get out of here and see what brand new form of chaos you unleashed. PowerTool managed to cut off a limb from what of those big hunks of metal." Witch reported as she flew out eager to make sure that the pair would get out and not instantly stepped on.

Deep scores of burns were crisscrossed on the machines, while Archfiend and Red Eyes were grabbing laser firing units out of the air and crushing them in their hands. Black Rose was swatting what she could from the ground, her vines creating the snapping Witch had heard before.

'Ok God planned this day would happen or God is a Troll. Or both, maybe both...' Witch mused as she hurried back to Aki. "The pair are coming out and yeah Ryu used a new card, that deck is working but why now? No idea." She commented before remembering something else. "Hey don't get too comfy standing still, this ash is sucking you down into it the longer you stand!"

"Joy..."
