Chapter five: The second task

This is a filler chapter

Harry dove into the lake as soon as the all clear was given, he knew what he had to do he swam and he swam and he swam looking in every direction for Hermione. He saw Krum with the head of a shark swimming around like an absolute madman while Cedric and Fleur swam close together.

Cedric and Fleur had to team up because they were looking for Fleur's sister who was heavily guarded and that was their task. Krum was desperately looking for Luna as he cared for her dearly and Harry's mind was dead set on finding Hermione no matter what.

He swam through the murky depths for about 15 minutes 'Shit shit shit Where the hell is she?' He frantically thought until he saw something in the distance, a tail waving and the glint of something shiny like a trident. 'The hell is that?' He thought. He kicked it into overdrive and swam harder and faster to reach the location. Soon the kelp was replaced by ruined buildings and everything was dead quiet and there was nothing in sight in terms of living things, not even a fish or a bit of algae. He rounded a corner when he was met by the sharp forks of a trident. He was backed against a wall and two of the prongs just fit around his neck and he was pinned to the wall. 'OH FUCK!'

He kicked away the Merperson and freed himself from the trident. He made his way down the long passageway of ruins when a Merperson jumped out and he had to basically get into a fist fight with it. He dodged ducked and weaved followed by a solid left hook and uppercut combo to the merperson which knocked it out. He rounded the corner just to see Hermione floating there tied up. He felt something tug on his leg and he turned to see the merpeople with their tridents aimed at him.

He kept his eyes open and concentrated his thoughts. "Flipendo!" He muttered and the copious amounts of wandless magic Hermione had taught him during some of their long nights at the library paid off. The three assailants went flying backwards.

Harry reached down and picked up a sharp rock to cut Hermione loose. He Swam with her unconscious body to the surface and fended off Merpeople the entire way up. He kicked them and used the Flipendo Jinx. In the distance he saw Fleur and Cedric fending off hoards of Merpeople and he knew that if he does nothing they won't make it in time.

He hastily swam down to them and distracted the Merpeople as they tried to stab him and fight him. He used the Knockback jinx again and then once he saw that Fleur and Cedric were fine he got back to Hermione. He wrapped an arm around her and swam to the dock.

He got there and with the Help of Cedric, They pulled Hermione up as well. Harry knelt down next to her and listened for her breathing. He let out a sigh of relief when he heard her gentle breathing. Suddenly, Hermione jolted awake, she looked around and once she saw Harry she latched onto him. She gave him a sweet kiss and held onto him. Harry returned her kiss and held her close when he saw Krum exit the water with Luna in his arms.

Krum had an extremely worried look on his face, he set Luna down and immediately tried to give her CPR. Multiple teachers and others ran to their side. Hermione ran over and drew her wand and she spoke: "Renervate" accompanied by a bright red flash. Luna jolted awake and looked around. She wrapped her arms Around Krum as he was the closest one to her and everyone clapped and cheered.

After it was announced that Harry had gotten first place and that he should enter the maze first, the crowd cheered. Once that was over and everyone went back to their common rooms, Harry and Hermione sat on the couch now in dry clothes. He wrapped his arms around her and held her closely. "Mione, I don't wanna lose you," he said thinking back to how Luna almost drowned.

"Harry, I will always be right here by your side." She assured him. "We should probably go check in on Luna." Harry suggested. "That sounds like a good idea." They got up and walked to the infirmary. They walked in and Saw Luna sitting in the hospital bed talking to Viktor. They walked over to her and Viktor left to give them a moment to speak.

"How are you doing?" Hermione asked.

"I'm doing okay, I can only smell water but other than that, I'm fine.

The three laughed and chatted for a few minutes before Harry and Hermione left.

They went to the Great hall and met up with the rest of the crew to have lunch.
