Issue #2: Learning Curve

15th of February/2024

North Salem/Xavier's school for Gifted Youngsters

Learning the ins and outs of his unique gaming system was a strange experience for David. The game system didn't have things like quests and to get experience points he not only had to practice with his powers during gym class where he had to focus hard on trying to mute out other people's emotions, but studying and physical training also played a part. Granted he still hasn't leveled up yet, but David accounted for that by realizing that his body wasn't physically able to properly train itself to the limit due to the level of malnourishment he was dealing with.

His time at school had helped greatly and he was getting some meat on his bones, but he still wasn't in the clear yet. However, that didn't stop him from putting his best foot forward as far as his studies went, which is what brought him to this moment as it was sunrise, and he was speaking with Professor Xavier in his office.

"You want me to be an X-men trainee and attend the local public school with other trainee's and students?" David asked with a bit of confusion.

"That's correct. Most students here choose to only learn and study on campus while others choose to attend Bayville High School. The number of students who take on additional studies off campus are only the trainees however and I would like to add you to that list." Charles explained calmly while David considered the offer.

"I'd spend Monday through Wednesday at Bayville High while Thursday and Friday are spent here. And Bayville High is okay with that?" David asked while the immensely powerful telepath nodded his head.

"The school board and our academy have an understanding. There won't be any conflict but again I will warn you that you will be taking on a lot of studies." Charles warned while David shrugged.

"I'm not the best student but I'll do my best." David said back before clearing his throat. "Talking with people is weird but I think going through with this arrangement could give me some good life experience."

"A sensible line of thinking. So, with that being the case I will call the school principal and inform him that you have accepted enrollment today. Head down to the garage and meet up with the other trainee's if you want to make it to school on time." Charles said before he started to pick up the phone by his desk while David headed out of the office and towards the large garage section of the school which housed a few cars and when David entered, he saw the other trainee's he would be learning with and training with, in the future.

David knew each person thanks to his time in the school and having to interact with them during classes. Scott Summers, Jean Grey, Katherine Pryde, Anna Marie, Bobby Drake, Alison Blaire, Jubilation Lee, Sam Guthrie and Jonothon Starsmore. Each teen was dressed in different styles of clothing as well.

Scott and Jean dressed in more casual clothing while Alison, Kitty, Jubilee and Bobby were dressed in the typical stylish teen attire. Sam wore literal blue overalls with a brown T-shirt underneath and boots. Anna was dressed in gothic clothes that also seemed to cover a lot of skin while Jonothon was dressed in black leather clothing and metal boots.

"Hey guys. Is Kurt not joining us?" David asked while making himself known to the group.

"Nah, he prefers to stay here at the school and learn." Scott said bluntly. "We try to convince him to join us at Midtown, but he doesn't want to take any risks."

"Sucks to suck." Jonothon said rudely, making David glare.

"Like your one to talk. Last time I checked, the Frankenstein look didn't exactly scream normal." David said causing Jono to glare back as David mentioned the stitched-up skin that comprised the entire mouth, lower jaw and throat of Jonothon's body.

"Da fuck you say?" Jono asked as his fist started glowing with gold flames of psionic energy.

"Both of you tone it down a notch. Were supposed to be a team remember." Alison said calmly and in a tired voice before she yawned while covering her mouth with a single hand. "It's too early for a testosterone fight."

David and Jonothon looked away from one another with mutual dislike. David didn't like how Jonothon acted like an asshole twenty-four-seven and Jonothon thought that David was too soft. The few times they saw each other during or between classes always ended up in a verbal disagreement that bordered on becoming a fist fight.

"Whose car are we all riding in?" Kitty asked since the teens had to all fit into two cars. One was a large jeep while the other was a more stylish retro looking car that could fit multiple people. David didn't know much about cars to say what brand or type of car it was honestly and after some talking, David was placed in the Jeep along with Bobby who was driving, Kitty in the passenger seat while Alison, David and Anna sat in the back.

Scott drove the other car with Jean, Sam, Jubilee and Jonothon and soon enough both rides left the garage and headed towards Midtown high. In the jeep, Kitty and Alison nodded off for a little bit more sleep while David looked on at the environment around them that quickly changed into Salem Center.

A beautiful looking city in David's opinion and since Bobby drove behind Scott, he could sense the emotions of the people in the other car and found out that Jubilee and Sam also fell asleep on the ride with Jonothon quickly following suit.

"I somehow forgot just how early it actually is." David stated while they passed a few dozen places that were either closed or just starting to open.

"You get used to it eventually. It just takes a while." Anna said with one of her arms leaning on the door of the jeep while she also looked out at the environment and David didn't know how to talk with the gothic teen.

She was a bit standoffish but at least seemed to try and say something, but David didn't know how to proceed and prolong the conversation, so for the rest of the ride he stayed silent while Bobby thankfully played some music for them to listen to before they made their way to the school with time to spare.

Somehow in some strange cosmic way. The classes at Bayville were just as difficult as the classes at Xavier's school, but this school was different because not everyone was a mutant and it wasn't the best environment to broadcast such a thing. Not because everyone in the school hated mutants but because you were, unsure about how people would react to the news, which why David found it strange that while he was walking the halls with Scott, a disgustingly long tongue hit Scott's face and ripped his glasses off, causing him to quickly cover his eyes.

"What the hell dude?" David asked with his voice raised towards the person who did it aka Toad. David didn't care about what his real name was, he was always going to be Toad and David almost recoiled from his stench. "My God, do you ever shower?" David asked and quickly covered his nose with his hand.

"Easy with the insult's boys. I'm just tryin' to talk." Toad said with a smile after he let the glasses drop from his tongue and land in his hand. Gross smell, gross looking clothes and he was an ass as well…David didn't like him one bit.

"You have a funny way of showing it Mortimer. Now give me back my shades." Scott demanded while Mortimer chuckled.

"After you hear what I've got to say." Mortimer said while he stopped standing on top of the nearby lockers and planted his butt on top of them. "Now the three of us ain't like the other tools at this schools. We're special and that means we can do whatever we want. So, here's the deal. You two are gonna help me get back at Duncan and his asshole friends or else."

"Or else what?" David asked with a scowl.

"Or else I'll have to do something messy, like rippin' off laser eye's shades during class." Mortimer threatened before tossing the shades over to David who caught them but recoiled at how slimy and gross they had become in a matter of seconds from the mutants elongated tongue. "Meet me after school near the football field. Me and some friends have more than a score to settle with Duncan and his butt buddies."

"That damned frog." Scott cursed in anger.

"We'll we sure as hell aren't going to let Mortimer and his so-called friends do whatever they want. So, what's the plan?" David asked before leading Scott into the bathroom where he washed and cleaned the mans ruby quartz sunglasses before giving them back to Scott who put them on before letting out a sigh of relief.

"Whatever Mortimer is planning isn't good. We aren't the only mutants in this school, and we've got to stop whatever it is he's planning. I'll tell the others to meet up with us after school for backup."

"Sounds good but I can't shake the feeling like something weird is going on outside of Mortimer's little schemes. I sensed some emotional smugness and mild confusion coming from him."

"If that's the case that means we'll have to have an even longer talk with Mortimer then I thought we would." Scott replied before the two teens continued on with their day at school.

The group of X-men trainees soon gathered near the locker rooms of the gym where they went over the plan of how to proceed with Scott and David acting as bait for Mortimer and his friends. If things went south the rest of the rookies would jump in to help. So, with as much false bravado as they could muster, Scott and David made their way towards the football field where they saw Mortimer by the bleachers on the far end away from the main field where the teens also saw a few parked cars.

"Glad you could make it." Mortimer said leading the two underneath said bleachers where they saw a massively obese guy along with a smug looking teen playing with a lighter, another teen with a cigarette in his mouth and hands in his pocket. And a girl with short blonde hair and green eyes who looked Scott and David over extensively.

"What the hell is going on here?" Scott asked with a furrowed brow.

"These are my friends. Blob, Avalanche, Pyro and Destiny. No legal names in our crew and were sick of playing nice with these people. So, where going to show them whose boss with a proper ass kickin'." Mortimer said with a grin.

"Mortimer, I understand how difficult it is to be a mutant in the school, and I know it isn't fair. But you can't just hurt people like this." Scott said with his arms crossed.

"Why the hell not? It's not like those jocks care about breaking the rules. We're done with all that weak soi boy shit Summers. So, you in or not?" Pyro asked while flicking his lighter on and off with his thumb before Scott and David looked at each other for a moment.

"Were not going to let you hurt anyone." David said in a serious tone, making Mortimer sigh.

"You were right Destiny. But I at least wanted to try." Mortimer said before Destiny spoke.

"I told you they wouldn't join us. My visions are always correct Toad." Destiny said and before Scott or David could speak, they were both blasted by Avalanche hitting them with a concentrated blast of shockwaves generated from the teens' hands that sent both teens flying off their feet and landing onto the hard ground.

David had quickly gathered that the world was dangerous, but he never knew just how much a shockwave of energy could hurt. In the comics and tv shows it always seemed like a lesser power but in reality, it hurt like hell.

"Scott, you, okay?" David asked with a cough while slowly getting up before feeling a disgusting tongue latch onto his right arm and not only lift him off his feet, but it slammed him into the nearby fence that surrounded the football field making the thing echo with sound vibrations and with David once again having the air knocked out of his lungs before he was lifted up again and then slammed onto the ground with a crunching noise coming from his body and making him scream out in pain before the tongue let go and allowed David to roll onto his back and see Toad and Blob looking over him.

"Should have played ball tiny." Blob said before picking up the wounded David by the arms and started pulling in opposite directions making him once again scream in pain as he felt his muscles stretch painfully and bones starting to strain.

David thought he was about to get the Jax treatment from Mortal Kombat but thankfully that wasn't the case since he was suddenly dropped onto the ground due to Blob being staggered back from a blast of psionic energy much like Toad being blasted by a blast of light.

"Damn David. I didn't think I'd have to rescue your sorry ass this early into your X-men career." A familiar voice said making David groan as he saw Jonothon and Alison standing over him. Alison has her cell phone playing music from her pocket while she went down and helped David sit up straight.

"Are you alright?" Alison asked.

"I think a rib or two might be broken. It's hard to breathe. Also, my arms hurt like hell." David said with labored breath due to the rough treatment he had just endured.

"I'm gonna turn your skull into my cereal bowl." Blob said in anger as he punched his fist into his hand threateningly towards Jonothon while Toad had sprung back up to his feet.

"Just stay down. We got this." Alison said in a sympathetic voice before using her powers as she used the soundwaves generated from the music she had playing and converted the sound into light-based energy in her body which caused her hands to glow a bright color of gold and white.

"No way." David said while forcing himself to his feet. "I'm hurt but I'm sure as hell going to hurt them back." David angrily claimed before a new screen appeared in front of him.

[You have leveled up. Level: 1-2!

Upon leveling up you have gained the following skills for your skill tree/mutation.

Emotional Influence, Level: 1

Spectrum Armor, Level: 1

Ghost Whip, Level: 1

Your [Empath-I] skill tree/mutation can now start gaining experience and level up by using the skill tree's/mutation adjacent skills.]

The information flooded David's mind as he now had access to skills that he could use, and he knew what each skill was and how to properly use them.

"Eat this." David said before extending his right hand towards Blob and hit him with the Emotional Influence skill which overloaded an enemy's senses and emotions to force them into a berserker state and have them attack friend or foe if they don't have a wisdom score that is equal or greater than David's.

Sadly, it seemed like Blob didn't have to much wisdom in his head since he easily started fighting Toad.

"What the hell man?" Toad asked before Jonothon blasted him and Blob with a large blast of condensed psionic energy which knocked both mutants back a bit from the blast radius of the concussive force-based explosion.

"What did you do?" Alison asked in shock and confusion before looking back at David.

"I overloaded his senses temporarily to make him go crazy. It only lasts for thirty seconds though. Not a lot of time but enough to make that fat bastard punch Toad in the jaw. Sadly, it won't work twice so soon. I'd have to wait a while before I can hit him with it again." David explained before Alison pressed the advantage David had given them and with both her hands, she fired two large beams of condensed light that hit both Blob and Toad's heads which knocked out Toad, but only enraged the rotund teen who let out a loud scream in anger.

"Dazzler I think you pissed him off." Jonothon said with a cocky attitude before charging himself up with psionic energy and ran headfirst into Blob who had begun charging at the X-men rookies.

Two of them exchanged blows as Jonothon aka Chamber dodged underneath and evaded Blob's massive swings before punching and kicking the large mutant with a psionic energy charged attack, but eventually Blob landed a powerful backhand strike on Chamber which sent him flying through the fence and landing hard against a tree.

Alison fired two light-based blasts at Blob who crossed his arms to protect his face from the attacks while David grits his teeth and activated his protective skill.

"Spectrum Armor." The armor was a nearly ethereal knight-like suit of armor that covered David's body in a dark crimson color. The armor's abilities changed depending on what emotion David is feeling the most. Crimson armor means that his physical abilities increased by 110% but at the cost of him not being able to use his other abilities until he deactivates the armor, or he runs out of PSI energy and the armor vanishes since it can no longer drain energy.

Which wasn't a lot due to how low his reserves seemed to be. Now, David hasn't had any official X-men training and didn't really know how to properly capitalize on an opportunity like this, so he punched Blob repeatedly as hard as he could, but sadly the man felt none of David's strikes and responded by punching David in the chest, implanting him into the ground hard as his armor shattered under the blow.

"Ow." David said weakly and was more than sure that he now had several broken ribs. Thankfully, Blob was hit again in the face by Dazzler's beams of light which only pissed him off more.

"You annoying bitch." Blob cursed before walking past the downed David towards Dazzler but stopped as he was lifted into the air telepathically by Marvel Girl who floated onto the scene and threw Blob clear into the distance at a low altitude. He wouldn't die but he would sure feel the pain later.

"Sorry I'm late. It took longer than I thought to erase the memories of Duncan and his friends." Marvel Girl said before Chamber finally started to stir and stand up on shaky legs.

"Damn that bastard hits hard." Chamber said with a wince of pain as he touched the back of his head.

"What about the others?" David said weakly before Marvel Girl used her telekinesis to lift him out of the ground which allowed him to stand although with great pain and effort.

"The rest of the team handled Avalanche and Pyro while I had to deal with Destiny. Nobody knows that we were here tonight besides them and the police have already been called and are on their way. So, we should go." Jean explained and soon enough the team of X-men trainees left the football field before the cops showed up and promptly arrested all the other teens for trespassing on school grounds.

During the car ride, David passed out from the pain and was taken to see Mr. McCoy for proper assistance and help.

"Ow." David groaned as he woke up in the medical station of the school and stared up at the florescent light over his head before trying to sit up. Due to the pain, he quickly laid back down on the pillow he had but noted that he was no longer dressed and was in a hospital gown and had bandages over his right arm going up towards his chest. He also felt the bandages around his chest and head before he heard the door to the medical station opening.

"Looks like you're staring in the new 'Curse of the Mummy' movie." Bobby said while entering the room with a bag of popcorn in his hands as he took a seat near the bed.

"How bad was it?" David asked while Bobby munched on his food.

"Six broken ribs, a bruised lung, skull fracture, broken wrist and a fractured ulna plus a fractured Humerus. Mr. McCoy said that your powers have somehow slowly started stitching you back together as some form of extremely minor healing factor. But you're still going to be out of commission for a while." Bobby explained before extending the bag of popcorn towards David who took a handful for himself and happily ate the buttery treat.

"Lucky me. Still, it doesn't explain why it took so long for the rest of you to help out during that fight."

"Turns out Toad had more than the friends at the football field. A dozen mutants showed up looking to cause trouble. Luckily enough they weren't all that powerful or anything. Plus, we managed to get them off the streets and helped God knows how many people, so I'd consider that a win." Bobby said with a smile before David rolled his eyes.

"I still can't shake the feeling that were missing something though. If they wanted to fight back against the football players or whatever, they could have done it a dozen different ways and they seemingly wanted to lure us out since that Destiny girl or whatever somehow knew we weren't going to help them." David said while trying to think of what he could have been missing.

"It is fishy. But until we get more information there isn't much we can do." Bobby explained before another person walked in.

"Ah, I see our patient is finally awake." Mr. McCoy said happily. "Although I do advise against giving my patient junk food Bobby."

Bobby chuckled nervously at Hank's slightly stern words before he decided to make himself scarce before Hank started helping David up and running a few more medical tests on him to see just how his body had been slowly fixing itself, but with a conscious thought, David summoned his skills and saw the answer.

[Psionic Stitching, Passive Level: 1

Your psionic energy grants you an extremely minor healing factor to help repair your body during your sleep as the energy slightly speeds up your body's natural healing responses.]

End of skill list.]

'I have an extremely weak healing factor…Thankfully it seems like it can level up, but I don't want to grind the skill since I don't like the idea of going through repeated bodily harm.' David thought to himself while Mr. McCoy finished all of his tests.

"You should be as good as new in about a month given how your body is trying to fix itself. Although I must admit it is strange seeing such a minute healing factor in action. Normally healing factors work much faster than what you're displaying." Hank said while David stood up with a groan of pain.

"Looks like I drew the short straw when it comes to healing powers. But I'm just happy to be alive, so I won't worry about it too much." David said before a question came to his mind. "Did anyone else get hurt?"

"Nothing more than a few bruises and scrapes. Logan doesn't hold back in his self-defense classes for reasons like this." Hank assured causing David to make a mental note of picking up Wolverine's self-defense classes.

"Neat…So, can I go back to my room?"

"Of course. I've already got you a change of clothes, but after you change, Miss Frost will be speaking to you about the events that unfolded." Hank said while David nodded his head in agreement before getting his clothes and changing before heading towards his room in the school.

2

Two hours of waiting in his room was rewarded when Emma Frost knocked on David's room door and he allowed her entry.

"David. I've already worked out what happened and how you got hurt, but I would like to know why you didn't think it was a good idea to inform any of us about the possible danger at Bayville." Emma said which caught David a bit off-guard.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean that you, children are being trained to deal with intense and dangerous situations that will happen in the future. The distant future and by no means did that give you the authority to try and handle a tense situation like that by yourselves. The rest of the team is being punished accordingly for what happened and despite the injuries you've sustained, you will also be punished." Emma said in a stern voice.

"But if we did nothing, Toad and his friends would have probably killed Duncan and the other football players." David replied while Emma shook her head.

"You've missed what I said. I didn't say you did something bad, I said that you're being punished because you didn't inform the staff here properly about the situation. Due to the actions you and the other trainees have taken, Bayville High has sustained quite a bit of property damage which could have been avoided."

David didn't know what he should or could say to that because he hadn't even thought of that little detail. The fight that the team had against Toad and his friends wasn't exactly a clean one and Blob certainly didn't hold back on the property with his explosive levels of strength.

"I didn't think about it like that." David admitted honestly.

"I know. That is the reason why we are doing this. Some situations require a firm hand, but others require a clever mind. Just because Scott planned out an attack strategy doesn't mean that it was the only way to handle the situation. The world views Mutants differently and situations like this can be used against our kind." Emma said before letting out a heavy breath. "From now on, you must stop and consider what consequences your actions have on not just you, but the team. Other mutants and the mutant race itself."

"I understand." David said weakly while sitting on his bed with his fists balled up. Not in anger at the vice principal's words but of anger for himself and not even considering problems like this. He just didn't stop to think about how a bad situation could be made worse thanks to his own actions.

"Good. Now come along. Your helping Scott deep clean, the danger room along with Jean and Jubilee." Emma said in a tone that told him that it wasn't a suggestion; David quickly stood up and followed the telepath to start his punishment.

1st of March/2024

North Salem/Xavier's school for Gifted Youngsters

"Damn it." David cursed after being slammed to the ground again by Logan during his self-defense classes in gym.

Logan taught you how to fight by fighting against him with no powers being aloud and since the man has over two-hundred years of experience, that didn't make it an easy challenge. Especially with David still nursing his hurt ribs and arm.

"Get up. Your still not done." Logan ordered before David forced himself to his feet and raised his hands in a fighting stance again. Clad in his white T-shirt and black basketball shorts that were stained with dirt from the hard wood floor; David charged at his instructor again and attacked with a series of trained jabs that Logan forcibly drilled into his head since his first days in this class.

Logan parried and blocked each hit before countering with a powerful stomach punch that had David hunched over and gasping for air before Logan hit him with a straight kick to the chest and sent him back down onto the ground hard.

"Alright, next kid stand front and center." Logan ordered after he took out and looked at a stopwatch he had. The next kid was obviously nervous and intimidated while David slowly stood up with a new set of bruises but couldn't help but smile a bit at two of his newest skills leveling up due to his instructor's harsh teachings.

[Hand-to-Hand Combat has leveled up. Level: 5-6!]

[Physical Conditioning has leveled up. Level: 3-4!]

The first skill was obvious about what it covered by the conditioning skill was a skill that allowed David to train and fight for periods of time before getting tired along with helping him take some damage. The key part of the skill was mastering your breathing as if you were some martial arts master's from an eighty's movie.

You breathe in before getting hit and release a sharp breath when you get hit, but the issue was timing, skill and experience which is something that David didn't have much of.

"Are you okay?" Another student asked while David leaned against the wall. He looked to his left and saw that the student who spoke to him was another girl he knew from biology. A girl named Amara. Blonde short hair, blue eyes a bit skinny but still has lean muscles and dressed in similar clothes to David and the other students.

"I'll live. Besides, if I'm learning how to defend myself, I can't complain each time I get knocked down."

"Fair enough I suppose. But Logan is a rather strict teacher, and you already appear to be injured to some degree." Amara said with concern. "It isn't a weakness to ask for a little leniency."

"I can't afford to take things easy. The bad people of the world aren't going to wait for me to get strong before they try and attack the school or something. I need to get as strong as I possibly can." David replied with a determined look in his eyes.

He might not have originally been from this world, but he already had something special in this school and it wasn't his powers. He felt like the people here were family to him. Even the jerks like Jonothon and he didn't want to stand by and do nothing if someone tried to attack the school.

"You're putting a lot of pressure on yourself. That will hinder your efforts in the long run."

"Just…Leave me alone." David said back to the girl sharply before she simply walked away. David didn't see the look on her face, and he didn't care too. She didn't know how dangerous the world truly was.

After the last person trained with Logan, the combat class was over, and students were moving through the halls while David had a focused yet downtrodden look on his face.

"Penny for your thoughts?" A familiar voice said, causing David to turn around and see Maxwell Jordan. He was a bit on the short side with tan skin and quills emerging from nearly 90% of his body due to his mutation…He called the mutation 'Quills' because it reminded him of a porcupine.

"Hey, Max." David said in a low voice.

"I saw how you talked to Amara earlier. What gives dude? She's like one of the nicest people around."

"She doesn't understand the danger were in. This school could be attacked any minute and I'm still to weak to do anything about it. She told me to take it easy, but I can't do that if it means that there is a higher chance for people here to get hurt." David said with a heavy breath.

"Easy dude. Last time I checked, you're not the only mutant here with powers. The X-men aren't some pushovers. If someone tries something, they'll get their teeth kicked in." Maxwell said confidently.

"I…I know that…But." David stopped his sentence in its tracks because he didn't even fully know what he wanted to say or what he could tell the underclassmen.

David knew of the marvel universe but most of this was brand new to him and he was struggling to figure out a way to adjust to it. Superhero teams get attacked all the time, but David started to wonder if that wasn't fully accurate because in comics, shows and movies they need the action to sell the product, but this was his new reality and did that mean that he had more time to prepare or less.

David didn't know but he did think about how short he was with Amara and started to regret the way he spoke with her.

"Max. I'm a jerk. I've got to apologize to Amara." David said in an unsure tone. He was still going to train hard, but he didn't want to alienate people because of it.

"I think she's on her way to her drama class next." Max said before David headed that way and sure enough, he caught up to the girl carrying her books.

"Amara wait." David pleaded as he walked up to her.

"Is there something you need David? I thought you didn't want to speak with me." Amara said with her own sharpness and despite his social issues, David knew enough to know when a girl was mad and didn't want to show it.

"I'm sorry about earlier. I was pissed because my combat skills suck and my ribs and arm are still killing me." David said while flexing his injured and still bandaged arm. "But that wasn't an excuse to snap at you. I just…I want to be strong like the X-men so I can't afford to go easy."

"That's the problem David." Amara said in anger. "You're pushing yourself too hard. You're not even giving yourself time to heal, and you keep hurting your already injured arm and ribs. Mr. McCoy already warned you that if you keep it up, you'll break your bones again and even Mr. Logan suggested that you sit out of the class. But you insisted and hurt yourself again. You're acting as if you don't value your own life."

Amara took a few breaths to calm her nerves before speaking to David again who simply remained silent after Amara got all that off her chest.

"I've seen people like you before David. People who think the weight of the world is on their shoulders alone. Pushing themselves to the limit before they shatter like glass. And I don't want to see that happen to you or anyone else. So, if you truly want to apologize, then take time to heal properly and stop harming yourself." Amara said before walking towards her class while David looked down at his arm and chest with his mouth practically sealed shut.

David didn't think that he had a death wish or anything and didn't know that was how he came off to people. He pushed his body hard to get stronger and saw little results, so he tried to train even harder which ended up harming him even more. David felt like he was at a loss now because Amara was right. David wasn't giving his body time to heal and assumed that it would be fine because of his powers, but if this was doing more harm than good. What was the point?

END!

A/N: So, David is learning that the reality he's in wasn't just some random comic or movie and instead has real world applications and physics involved. He might be a Gamer, but he doesn't have a miracle cure like sleeping in a bed for eight hours. Who knows what will happen in the next issue of Psychic RPG?
