I don't own Disney's The Owl House. I do, however own the OC known as Danielle Hopkins. Hope you all enjoy my story on this lovely show.

Chapter Fifty-Two

The time spent in Kyoto had come to an end. Danielle and her cousins head back to Ginza. Laying on her cousin's bed, Danielle stares up at the ceiling wondering how Aster and King were doing.

"Mmm, activating the portal has made my hand tender," said Danielle, staring at the bruise on her palm. "Still, at least I know what's going on now."

"Looks easy enough to heal," said Aster, staring at Danielle.

"I don't… Aster!" said Danielle, seeing Aster hovering above her alongside King. "King?"

"Yeah, Nova won't attack me when I'm like this," said King, looking at Danielle. "Turns out we figured out how to get that mirror working again."

"Twitchy witchy right here," said Danielle, making the two laugh. "Still, how'd you get here?"

"I used my own blood to activate the portal," replied Aster, looking at Danielle. "Which by the way, I still think we need to make an actual one."

"No, I meant here… in Ginza," said Danielle, looking at Aster.

"I just followed your energy signature," said Aster, sitting on the bed. "What a weird bed."

"Well, that answers my question," said Danielle, sighing. "But why make an actual Portal Door when we can use the natural one?"

"I am not fond of needles here Danielle," said King, staring at Danielle.

"Oh," said Danielle, realizing what King meant.

"That and an actual Portal Door is easier to get to than always going to the natural one," said Aster, looking at Danielle. "Would you want to go to it every day…"

"Yeah, I'm seeing your point there," said Danielle, before hearing a light knock on the bedroom door. "Yes?"

"Danielle, you okay in there?" asked Aunt Reina, standing outside the door. "I hear voices in there."

"Speaker phone… I'm talking to my friends back in Gravesfield on speaker phone," replied Danielle, sitting up.

"Oh, okay. Don't stay on too long. They need their sleep," said Aunt Reina, opening the door slightly. "Also, Momo and Tama want to be with you."

"Okay… oomph," said Danielle, as the family dog and cat jumped her. "Hey, Tama. Hey, Momo. You little fuzzballs."

"This is Tama and Momo?" said King, pulling his hand away as Momo tried to bite him. "Weh!"

"Tama here is a Japanese bobtail and Momo is Akita Inu, a sesame one," said Danielle, petting the two. "Both females."

"Cool," said Aster, before looking around. "Is this your room whenever you visit?"

"This is actually Naomi's room, I sleep in here whenever I visit," said Danielle, looking at Aster and King. "Also, this bed is known as a daybed."

"My room is a lot bigger than this," said Aster, looking around. "Same with the bed."

"How's everything since I left?" asked Danielle, looking at Aster and King.

"Nova is turning whoever he can into puppets to hunt me down," replied King, pulling his hand back as Tama swatted at him.

"He's doing what I did and I haven't even got up to that point yet with my memories," said Aster, petting Momo. "Everything before meeting you guys was easy to go through but… I'm only up to say close to the Day of Unity… I think… with flashes of later memories."

"Oddly, I'm up to date to now," said King, still being swatted at by Tama. "Oh, come on. Let me pet you."

"I don't know what to do now to go forward. I already called my dad to let everyone know about the natural gate," said Danielle, laying down. "But I'm stuck here till mid-August. I feel useless right now."

"You're not useless," said Aster, looking at Danielle. "You helped out by finding the natural gate in Kyoto and you helped out when you landed on TT island."

"Pfft, TT," said Danielle, giggling slightly.

"Maybe you can help me out," said King, pulling out some drawings. "Coven Head Mason wants to build us a new house ever since Nova revealed what I was to the isles. Thing is, I have no idea what he means by dimensions and such."

"He's talking square footage, depth, width, roof pitch… I'm confusing you, aren't I?" said Danielle, seeing King confused.

"I know I want a bigger room," said King, looking at the papers.

"Well, that's kinda what Mason wants. How big each room will be, where they're placed," said Danielle, looking at the papers. "What materials to use and such. Building a place is not easy, and if its rushed things will be overlooked."

"Overlooked?" said King, confused.

"You wouldn't want a floor to give out on you, or a wall you thought was fine only to find out that when it rains its saturated," said Danielle, looking at King. "Or like loose floorboards or pantry pulling away from the wall. Those kinds of things."

"Huh, that actually makes sense," said King, looking at the papers. "I do know I want to give you and Luz a bigger room as well."

"I gave King the idea to not only use what the Owl House use to look like but to use the earlier designs that Danny showed us," said Aster, looking at Danielle. "Those other concepts were pretty cool too."

"Aster remembers those designs pretty well and had already drawn them up," said King, looking at Danielle. "By the way, how is Danny?"

"I haven't heard from her since I got her out of that sphere," replied Danielle, kneading the blanket. "I hope she's okay."

"I know she is, she's probably just resting," said Aster, looking at Danielle. "Hey, what do you think of bringing some of the furniture from those designs too. Like this one."

"That's pretty cool," said Danielle, as Aster magicked an owl themed cabinet in the room. "How'd you get it here?"

"I learned the technique years ago. My own personal pocket space," replied Aster, grabbing a fruit out of the pocket space. "I even have food in here. Want an artic peach? They're really good."

"I'm good right now," said Danielle, looking at Aster.

"Hey, Danielle, can you…" said Naomi, walking into the room and bumping into the owl themed cabinet. "Where did this come from?"

"I brought it here," said Aster, floating upside down.

"As much as I want to keep this cool cabinet," said Naomi, nervously chuckling. "Mom will be suspicious with how it got here. Can you…"

"Got it," said Aster, putting the owl themed cabinet back in the pocket space. "Where's Izumi?"

"Playing a video game," replied Naomi, as Aster sped by her. "Huh…?"

"Aster, wait!" shouted Danielle, running after Aster.

"He's playing the mansion game," said Naomi, as King walked past her. "King?"

"Thanks for… uh… letting us come over," said King, looking at Naomi.

"More like came uninvited," said Naomi, walking after everyone.

"Gosh, Momo, get off," said Izumi, as Momo laid on his lap as he was playing a Swap game. "Come on, come on stupid ghost."

"Cool," said Aster, hanging off the back of the couch. "So, this is what a home console is like. It's so much bigger and easier to see than the handheld ones."

"Depends on the tv size," said Izumi, before air pumping. "Yes!"

"Aster, could you please not…" said Danielle, before seeing the game. "Aah!"

"Yeah, Danielle is not a fan of the mansion games," said Izumi, still playing his game. "Or anything horror related. Never could handle it."

"Please tell me we got holy water on hand," said Danielle, peering over the couch. "Not the dino floor."

"Nope," said Naomi, as Danielle groaned.

"I know," said Danielle, clapping her hands together. "Why not see the sights?"

"Like Tokyo Tower and the big pointy white one," said Aster, staring at Danielle.

"Tokyo Skytree," said Naomi, sitting down and leaning against her brother.

"Doesn't look like a tree in the sky," said Aster, back to looking at the game. "What creature was that supposed to be?"

"Dinosaur… T-rex…" replied Izumi, trying to focus.

"And we go," said Danielle, grabbing Aster and King. "To the sights."

"Danielle, sweetie, where you going?" asked Aunt Reina, seeing Danielle rush past her.

"Sightseeing," replied Danielle, already out the door.

"Naomi, go with her dear," said Aunt Reina, looking at her daughter.

"Why do I have to?" asked Naomi, looking at her mom. "Why not Izumi?"

"Izumi is only here till vacation ends then he'll be back at Tokyo University," replied Aunt Reina, hands on hip. "You're still here full time. Go."

"Alright," said Naomi, grumbling while getting up.

And so, the sightseeing began with Danielle and Naomi showing Aster and King around. Meanwhile, back in Gravesfield, as Luz and the others were figuring out how to get a Portal Door working. Though right now, Luz is taking a walk around the park after a suggestion from her mom to clear her mind. Wind was blowing, birds were singing… and a musical instrument being played nearby.

"The Zhang twins," said Luz, recognizing who was playing the musical instruments.

The Zhang twins looked very much alike besides clothes. Very dark chestnut brown hair styled in a low side bun, dark brown chestnut eyes, and fair skin. Attire wise, Ming was wearing a short sleeve black short with a purple ouroboros on it, denim shorts, and purple sneakers. And was the one playing the musical instrument, the shamisen. Ling though, was wearing more traditional clothes. A white short sleeve qipao shirt with pink accents and two pink flowers near the shoulders, matching flowing white pants, dark pink obi securing a blue floral wrap, and blue flat shoes.

"Hi there," said Luz, waving and walking over. "You're the Zhang twins, right? Ming and Ling."

"Yes, we are," said Ling, looking at Luz.

"And you're the Noceda girl that had brought snakes to school before summer vacation," said Ming, strumming away at her shamisen. "Smart move Noceda for scaring the student populace by bringing them."

"Don't be sarcastic Ming," said Ling, looking at her sister.

"It was for a book report," said Luz, a little miffed at Ming.

"Yeah well, nobody really liked that you brought them," said Ming, staring coldly at Luz. "Should have done it by going to Principal Hal and the teacher and letting them know."

"They wouldn't have allowed it…" said Luz, looking to the side. "Probably."

"What a shame," said Ming, sarcastically.

"Ming," said Ling, staring at her sister.

"Well, I didn't come over here for that," said Luz, taking a deep breath in. "I actually wanted to know what happened between you two and Danielle."

"Here's a thing for you," said Ming, stopping her playing and standing up. "Friendship with the Ice Queen is non-existent. You'll only get hurt, so I wouldn't even try Noceda."

"I'm already friends with her nor am I severing it," said Luz, a little miffed. "I just want to know…"

"We cut our ties with her back when we were nine and for good reason," said Ming, lifting a little of her hair near her temple. "See this, this is what happens when you befriend her."

"Oh my," said Luz, seeing a scar on Ming's temple.

"Girl couldn't stand up to her grampa and this happened," said Ming, staring at Luz. "Tried to keep our friendship a secret from him but was found out. That's why we severed it!"

"But Danielle was just a little kid at that point," said Luz, looking at Ming. "How can you expect a little kid to stand up to their own grampa?"

"She should have," said Ming, glaring at Luz. "Every single time, she should have but didn't."

"We-were you…" said Luz, looking at Ming. "The one that started…"

"I-I think it's time for you to leave now," said Ling, grabbing hold of Luz's arm and walking away. "I'll be back momentarily Ming."

"I'd sever your friendship if I was you Noceda," said Ming, watching the two walk away. "For your own good."

"She has no right to say that," said Luz, as Ling walked her away a fair distance. "Danielle is a really nice person once you get to know her."

"We know," said Ling, gripping Luz's arm. "We know how nice she is. We should have never severed our friendship."

"Wait… do you…" said Luz, staring at Ling. "Still want to be friends with Danielle?"

"Of course I do! She was so amazing back then and still is now. She's what kept our group together," said Ling, staring at Luz. "Then when her mom went missing, everything started to fall apart. Yancy moving away back to England, Masha got hurt… it just… I just want everything to go back to how it used to be with us."

"I'm glad to know that you still want to be friends with Danielle," said Luz, smiling slightly. "But it doesn't look like your big sister…"

"Oh, no, I'm the big sister by an hour," said Ling, correcting Luz. "Ming is younger."

"Uh, wait… I thought," said Luz, before laughing slightly. "My bad."

"How'd you two meet by chance?" asked Ling, looking at Luz.

"It's a little complicated but I'm glad that we did," replied Luz, looking at Ling. "Why not tell Danielle this? That you still want to be friends. I'm sure she'd…"

"I can't," said Ling, staring at the ground. "Not cause of Ming… but of how hurt she looked when we severed it years ago. I don't think I can confront that just yet."

"Ling," said Luz, looking at Ling.

"I have to go," said Ling, walking away. "It was nice meeting you Luz."

"Wait… wait…" said Luz, as Ling walked back to her sister. "This is gonna be harder than I thought."

"Aster, why'd you get so many?" asked King, as they returned to the Demon Realm. "How'd you even get the money for it?"

"All I did was use magic to pinpoint any change that people dropped," replied Aster, eating a chocolate banana crepe. "It was as simple as that and putting it in my pocket space."

"Yeah but…" said King, staring at Aster. "Ugh, at least let me have some."

"Uh, okay…I'll just… uh…" said Aster, peering into his pocket space.

"Oh, come on," said King, looking at Aster. "Don't keep all the chocolate banana ones for yourself. I want to try it too."

"What is it that you want?" asked Camila, staring at Jacob.

"I was thinking of extending more help," said Jacob, looking at everyone in the living room. "I know I sent my daughter to Japan to recuperate but you have four extra people living with you. So, I thought… that maybe… every few weeks… that they could stay at my place… interchange… to lessen the load… on you."

"I did it once before, I can do it again,' said Camila, staring at Jacob.

"Yeah but…" said Jacob, looking at Camila.

"It's up to them if they want to," said Camila, staring at Jacob. "But I don't trust your father should he come around."

"Point taken, Gus wouldn't be able to stay," said Jacob, looking at Camila. "But the other three could and Vee could too under a different disguise."

"No thanks," said Vee, looking at Jacob. "I prefer the visits currently."

"So… um… what about…" said Jacob, before Willow got up in his face.

"I would love too," said Willow, shaking Jacob's hands. "Let's go."

"She's more interested in the plants, isn't she?" said Jacob, looking at everyone as Willow left the house. "Hey, wait up."

"Hunter…" said Luz, seeing Hunter get up.

"I'm going as well," said Hunter, walking towards the door. "He said he'd uphold Danielle's promise so… I want to meet this person."

"Okay," said Camila, standing up and hugging Hunter. "You two be safe and if he does anything wrong, let me know and I'll la chancla him."

"Will do," said Hunter, looking at Camila.

"Mmm," said Jacob, as his cell phone vibrated. "Oh, hey sweet pea. How's Japan?"

"Awesome as always," replied Danielle, petting Tama. "I need you to relay some info to Luz and the gang."

"Danielle, you're there to recup…" said Jacob, before hearing giggling in the background. "What was that?"

"Scary movie," replied Danielle, shuddering. "Anyway, I found a way for us to get back."

"Danielle…" said Jacob, strumming his fingers against the counters.

"I ended up activating the Ichijō Modori-bashi bridge with my blood," said Danielle, still petting Tama. "And landed in the Demon Realm with my cousins and their gramma."

"You what?!" shouted Jacob, startling Skye. "How?"

"It's a natural gateway that the Celestials left behind," replied Danielle, leaning against the daybed. "Meaning there are others like the one in Old Gravesfield. Evelyn probably left some Titan Blood behind."

"I'll let them know," said Jacob, about to hang up.

"Wait… dad…" said Danielle, sitting up straight.

"We can talk more a little later sweet pea," said Jacob, hanging up.

"Dad…" said Danielle, wondering what her dad was up to.

"I'm not letting them know right away," said Jacob, putting his cell phone away. "It's my turn to step up… I'll investigate first."

"Lord Gnosis, what are you doing here?" asked the Maid, seeing a Young Adult Celestial walk her way.

"I've come to check and see if Empress Asteria is okay. Now stand aside Gemma," said Lord Gnosis, only to have his arm pulled back and slammed to the floor. "Why, you…"

"The Supreme Emperor and Empress has already decreed that only family is allowed in," said Gemma, glaring at Lord Gnosis. "Which you are not. Now kindly leave."

"I am Empress Asteria's future husband. Now let me…" said Lord Gnosis, as he was pulled up by Gemma.

"You may think that and have already talked to the Supreme Emperor and Empress about the arrangement," said Gemma, glaring at Lord Gnosis. "But Empress Asteria has seen you as nothing more than a friend since childhood. Now like I said before, kindly leave."

"I'll make sure that plebian knows her place once me and Asteria are married," thought Lord Gnosis, walking away angrily. "I'm the only one for her."

"Oh, my lady, when will you wake up?" thought Gemma, staring at the double doors behind her. "Lord Gnosis is getting desperate, I fear the wedding will be pushed forward."
