Hey everyone, I know this has been YEARS at this point, and I offer my sincerest apologies. I wanted to pick this one back up here and there, because I was at one point so passionate about Ed Edd N Eddy Z, because it was my gateway drug into fanfiction in the first place. So I hope you're willing to forgive me. Life is annoying on my end, all the time. I have a very absorbing job, and home life, but hopefully I can at least finish this one saga.
When we last left the Eds, they were getting a handle on using their Ki, and battled androids created by prosthetics mogul Dr. Faksim, at the behest of Clovas. Now, a new engineered threat emerges, one which the Ed's mentor, Aleister has deep connection to.
Jonny examined the curious vials that Clovas had gifted him with. Within were about seven small seed-like pods, of a murky green color. In the second, three seeds of a purple color, and in the third vial were two seeds of a pale blue color.
"These things…You called them…'Saibamen?' Jonny asked, twirling one of the vials in hand.
"Yes, the green ones, specifically are the template for the others." The slender, blue-skinned Makyan replied. "Bio-warriors created typically for training purposes. However, the others are improved subspecies, called Tennenmen, and Kaiwareman, respectively. You will use these as a simple fighting force, and send them to battle those accursed young Saiyans. With luck, you may kill one or two of them. These creatures are especially nasty in groups. Particularly when they get desperate."
Jonny smirked devilishly. Desperate. He liked that.
"What do I have to do?"
"Well, it's a plant-based organism, my boy." Clovas chuckled. "And like every good plant, they love a good deal of soil, sunshine and water. Though regular water won't do. Boko?"
The skinny Mr. Popo-esque genie sauntered forward. "Here you go, best buddy of mine!" He handed Jonny a three small pouches. "Super-enhanced feed solution."
"Is Plank okay? Last I remember, you brought him with you to a relaxation chamber."
"Oh of course, of course. He's doing just fine, getting good and calmed down. Don't worry." Boko lied through his teeth. In truth, he had just lied the board down in a back room. He found the bloody thing eerie. It was a mere 2x4, but it carried a strange presence to it, as if it's crayon-drawn face was truly watching him.
"Very well. If I could ask, where did you guys get this stuff? Last I checked, demons and technology don't really mix."
"We have some contacts corresponding with us that are capable of procuring such valuable resources." Clovas waved his hand. "Now go. Plant those Saibamen in fine soil around high noon, and sic them on the source of your downfall."
"With glee, Master Clovas." Jonny flourished his costume's cape and left.
Clovas straightened his collar, and walked into his private chambers, where no prying eyes would see him. He waved his arm, and projected a black orb from his hand that produced a seal, barricading the room, as he approached a brazier. He produced an effigy of a black ring, and dropped it inside, lighting the brazier's flame with a magic-laced Ki blast.
A bearded face appeared in the flames, having the structure of a man, in his late thirties, or early to mid forties.
"Ah, Clovas, my old friend. How are things proceeding?" The figure asked, an antiquated air to his voice.
"As promised, one of my minions has procured one of the wish orbs of this world. Though it is only the first of seven."
"And these…'Saiyan' creatures you were telling me about?"
"A thorn to be disposed before it ever lodges itself into our sides. Right now, I have a young ward on his way to begin a pre-emptive strike."
"Good. Good. It took my associate a good deal of time and cunning to steal those Saibamen. We aren't so used to operating in space."
"No matter. We won't need to steal any more of them. These many batches you've leant to us our more than sufficient."
"We can only hope so. If we want to obtain ultimate power on this planet, we need the rest of those Dragon Balls. Until we meet again."
The fire in which the face manifested dispersed, leaving Clovas by himself.

On the outskirts of Peach Creek, some days later, Jonny was once again masked in his Gourd persona, carrying the first of the vials in hand. He'd scoped the place out, and discovered that the Eds and their mentors indeed trained in his locale, and decided that now was a good a time as any to unleash his new pets.
Humming a tune to himself, the boy indented the ground with his thumb, and placed the green seeds in the earth, covering them lightly before fishing out the water pouch in his pocket. "And now, my loyal servants, arise! Rise up! Obey the command of your master, The Gourd!"
Within moments, nothing seemed to happen, prompting Jonny to glaze over the vial. "Maybe they're past their expiration date?"
He immediately jumped back as the ground rumbled a bit. "Jumpin' Jehosephat!" One by one, small, humanoid beasts erupted head first from the ground, arms crossed, their hides veiny, and green. They emerged until their full number of seven arose.
Each of the Saibamen opened their eyes and let out guttural screeches, until they all eyeballed the boy in front of them; imprinting on the first sapient being they saw as their master.
"Ik-ik?" The tallest of them croaked at Jonny.
"Yes, yes, green ones, I am your master. This is my command!" Jonny handed the creature a small photograph of Ed, Edd and Eddy sitting with their legs draped over a fence, and observing something offscreen. "These three. You are to hunt them down and kill them. Bring me their heads, and you'll receive my favor. Bonus points if you can defeat their teachers as well."
The Saibaman's clawed hand clutched the picture, before he scanned it, passing it around to the others, who each take their time to examine their target.
"Well then, you all understand the objective? CHARGE!" Jonny roared in the direction that he felt the Ed's Ki in, prompting his new servants to wail and make a mad dash in that vicinity.
"Best fall back, in case things get super-heated." He added, using no more than enough Ki to give himself superhuman speed, low enough to remain undetected. His training under Clovas and his posse were bearing fruit.

Double D couldn't believe it himself, even though he had felt his body gently lift off the ground, slowly ascending just meters from the ground. It was an indescribable, heavenly feeling to finally levitate, and would soon find himself almost somersaulting in midair.
Freedom. That's all he could think about to compare this feeling to.
"That's it, you're getting the hang of it!" Aleister cheered him on. "Now, try for a boost! Just barely fire off some Ki from the soles of your feet."
"Is that why you asked us to remove our shoes?" Double D asked.
"Well yeah. First few times always run the risk of destroying your shoes."
"You don't say." The brainy Ed-boy concentrated, and as he focused, he imagined a puff of smoke shooting out from his feet. With a little bit of effort, he managed to fly faster in a quick burst. "Woah!"
Eddy had also begun to show promise, lifting off even higher than Double D. "Whoo-hoo! Talk about stylin'! I'm definitely acing this!"
"Good job, kid." Leon smirked. "Just don't over do it!"
Both Double D and Eddy were swirling about in the air, their blue and purple auras igniting in the sky as they flew. Ed on the other hand, still wasn't getting it, still resorting to Ki-enhanced jumps.
"Alley-oop!" The least intelligent of the Ed trio shouted as he attempted to push himself off the ground, only to launch himself out of visible range, and crash back down, making a small crater. "Nope. Next time!" Again. "Oop!" A third time he landed.
"We got our work cut out for us on this one." Leon whispered to Aleister.
"Eh. He'll get it."
With one more stratospheric bound, Ed came down, but as he was falling like a meteor, he caught a glimpse of an unusual sight, before putting those basic counting lessons to the test.
"One…two…Three…Huh…"
As he landed, standing straight and tall as a pillar, legs embedded in the earth to the knee, he turned to Aleister. "Alex, what comes three numbers after four?"
"Seven, big guy. Why do you ask?"
"I saw that many little green guys coming from the west!" He waved his arm, only for Double D and Eddy to land next to him, aura dispersing.
"That direction would be "East," Ed." Double D corrected him.
"Easter?" Ed's eyes widened with excitement, before taking a second to think. "They didn't look like Easter Bunnies!"
"Little green guys?" Eddy asked, before he felt the energies coming. "Uh-oh!" He got into a defensive stance behind Ed in an instant.
"Looks like its showtime, boys." Leon declared as from the brush, leapt five of the little green, plant-like men.
"What are those horrid abominations!?" Double D nearly doubled over in disgust.
"Wait a minute…I recognize these." Aleister began, thinking back to his early childhood, as he was the only one of them who was "raised" as a Saiyan in his early childhood. "So it's Saibamen this time…First killer robots, now these guys."
"How do you know what these are!?" Eddy shouted, dodging a diving claw-swipe from one of them, and kicking it away. The beast dug it's arms into the dirt to stop itself from careening very far, and lunged again, lashing him across the chest. "Alright, ya overgrown cabbage, now you're gonna get it!"
The pink skinned Ed-boy started to trade blows with the bio-creature, as Ed merely stared on with delight. He was finally going to fight enemies he'd dreamed of since his younger days. "Oh boy, oh boy, mutant aliens!"
"Pardon me if I don't share your enthusiasm, Ed!" Double D grimaced as three of the Saibamen carefully walked up, examining the taller foe that was the burly Ed with animalistic curiosity. The last of the five charged Double D, who immediately took to the air, only for it to take off the ground after him. "These monsters can fly!?" He blocked a punch from one of them.
"Kih!" It croaked as it gave him a vicious somersaulting kick, knocking him back to earth.
"Guh!" Double D gasped out as he landed on his side, but managed to throw himself back to his feet. He took a deep breath, and focused his energy, gaining a light blue aura. "Very well…If I must defend myself, then defend myself I will…"
"Wait a minute…I thought Rutabaga said there were seven of them." Leon observed.
"Must be lying in wait. They've improved their biological programming if they can cloak their power levels," said Aleister. "Better watch your back. These things have a tendency to really blow your mind."
As if on cue, the Saibaman that was battling Eddy leaned down as it's cranium split open and fired a green beam from inside. The short lad managed to weather it, but not without minor burns to his skin and clothes. "Alright then. Two can play at that game! Ray of Riches-Super!" Eddy put his index and middle fingers of both hands to his forehead, and fired the attack of cent symbols. The genetic monster took the attack head on, getting the wind knocked out of it, allowing Eddy to find his opening, and charge in for a double-axe-handle, slamming it into the ground.
Ed took on three Saibamen at once, dodging all their lunges and swipes with minimal effort. "Nope! Almost! Close but no cigar! Are you even trying? Come on!" He caught two of them by the wrist and threw them both into the same boulder nearby, giving the last one a good palm strike to the gut.
"Ki-kih-kih!" The green creature croaked again, charging in, and landing an extensive assault of physical blows, before giving one good punch that bloodied Ed's lip.
"Ow!" the thick-skinned Ed grimaced, before deciding to kick it up, whipping his favorite green coat off. "If that's the way you want to play, then I'll play right with you!" He produced a green energy ball in his hand, and launched it, causing the Saibaman that busted his lip to fly backwards into the nearby woods, an explosion following.
"Ha-ha-ha-ha!" Ed chuckled stupidly as he threw a volley of green Ki blasts that was deeply reminiscent of an attack used by a particularly noteworthy Saiyan of past battles. Explosions thundered through the forest, with Double D struggling to maintain his posture.
"E-E-Ed! Be careful! You're destroying the topography of the landscape!"
"Oops. Sorry."
In the woods, Jonny clutched the Saibamen variant vials in his hands tightly as he ducked behind a boulder. "W-wow…It looks like Ed's training is the one that's paying off the most…" He scoffed. "No, it's just that he's a natural at this…He was always the strongest. Then there's his alien biology."
Double D counted about eight claw swipes from the Saibaman he faced, before he leapt into the air, and thrust his hand out, sending an invisible Ki wall at it. If it were possible, he'd prefer to end this confrontation without lethality. Unfortunately, lethality was all Saibamen knew. It opened it's cranial cap, and to Edd's shock, a rushing jet of acid fired out. "-Ahh-ahh-ah!" He thrust his hands out and barely managed to generate a force field in time. The acid splashed and sizzled against it harmlessly.
"Well, I have had just about enough!" He hollered, before putting as much energy as he could into his fist, and slammed it into the green monster's belly, causing it to shriek out in pain, and it's face to bulge out. Double D gave a good kick to it's back, and fired another ki blast for good measure as it crashed against the ground. The blast made contact, and vaporized his foe.
Eddy took on his opponent with a little less difficulty, but that didn't mean he could afford to give it an inch. He clashed punches with the abomination, but it was pushing him back. The shortest of the trio kept an eye on the cliff face behind him, and managed to duck out of the way at the last minute, causing his enemy to plant it's clawed fist into the wall.
"Gih!" It shrieked, as Eddy did a few flips behind him.
'This technique takes excess concentration to perform…' Eddy recalled Aleister's coaching on one of the Neo Kame School's teachings. 'First, you start out by making a ball of your Ki, and you compress it. Make it completely flat, and use centrifugal force to make it rotate. The natural properties of offensive Ki will give it an ultra-razor-sharp cutting edge!'
"Concentrate…Focus…" Eddy raised his right arm as high as he could, sweat beading from his arm as an energy ball just barely hovered out from the palm of that hand.
The Saibaman managed to dislodge itself, and lunged for him like a wild animal.
"Crap!" Eddy decided to ditch the idea, and threw the ball as a regular Ki blast. The creature leapt over it harmlessly, grabbing him and shrieking in his face.
"Giiiiiiiih!" It roared as it's body glowed and started to heat up.
"Wh-what's it doing!?" Eddy screamed, as his body was burned.
Aleister saw it coming from a mile away, and flew in. Just as he took off the ground, the other two Saibamen hiding out leapt from the shadows, but Leon cut them off by zipping into their path.
"Where do you cabbage heads think you're going?" The older Saiyan asked, sparking his own aura to life.
The two Saibamen took a step back, unsure of how to proceed now that their gambit had been prevented. The one that ensnared Eddy was reaching a critical point, as it's body emitted pressure waves. Thankfully with a scream, it was removed from Eddy, it's arms being torn from it's body with the quick motion, and the rest of it being hurled into the air, where it self-destructed harmlessly.
"That thing was gonna explode!?" Eddy screeched incredulously.
"Yep. Pretty potent too." Aleister knocked off the spare arms that were clutching onto Eddy as he turned to see Leon low-diffing the two Saibamen that attempted to blindside them.
The red-wearing Saiyan dodged their attacks, being in a whole different league from his students, and for every two blows he dodged, he landed a hit that was a little more than twice what was thrown his way. The two beasts fired their beams from their heads, only for Leon to charge his Ki and disperse them.
Leon smirked, leaping into the air, and slamming his arms down into them so hard that the creatures brains splattered out on impact.
"That takes care of that."
Ed was still in the process of dealing with the last two, and Jonny was getting antsy.
"Great…I was hoping I wouldn't have to do this…" "The Gourd" got down on his hands and knees, and planted the rest of the seeds from both vials, and pouring the last of the feeding solution.
Within moments, his next squad of minions grew out of the ground, and sprung to life, this time, the enhanced Jinkoumen and Kaiwaremen.
"Kiiiih!?" One of the pale blue Kaiwaremen seemed to query.
"Not much time," Jonny began, flashing the photograph of the Eds so that each of them could get a good look at it. After pocketing it, Jonny threw his arm in the direction of the battle. "Now go! Sic 'em!"
"Ki-kih!"
"Kiih!"
"Kya!"
"Giiiih!"
"Uk-yaaaa!" The five man squad of monsters charged in, with Jonny pulling out a small black and red sphere from his other pocket. He crushed it in his hand, and he was engulfed in purple flame that caused him to vanish, and return to the hideout of his new order.
The last two remaining vanilla Saibamen charged at Ed, only to smack into each other, as he seemed to vanish. Double D leaned in, having observed it more closely, as the two seemed to make contact with his friend, but he'd managed to dodge.
"Oh my…an afterimage?"
"Pretty common trick, but I'm surprised your buddy figured it out on his own." Aleister said. "He might not be bright, but he has the makings of a fighting genius."
As the two Saibamen collected themselves, Ed powered up, and opened his mouth widely.
"Super Atomic Breath!" Ed called out as he shot a huge fiery beam of blue energy from his maw, incinerating the two enemies.
Aleister, Leon, Eddy, and Double D were dumbstruck by the primitive attack. "…Well…at least all those monster movie marathons manifested something positive out of them." Edd noted.
"Heh-heh-ha-ha!" Ed chuckled. "I win!"
Leon felt the Ki signatures coming. "Woah. Watch out, fellas. More bogeys incoming!"
"There's more?" Double D groaned before reaching out with his senses. "Good lord, these ones are even more powerful!"
"Bring 'em on!" Eddy said, smacking his fists. "No matter how many peons come at me, I'll lay 'em all in the dirt!"
Five more creatures identical in shape and size to the Saibamen charged in, though they were in pale, faded, purple and blue coloration. "Kiiii-gi-gi!" The leader growled, eyes filled with bloodlust.
"One for each of us, I guess." Leon cracked his neck. "Fun!" He pivoted back in the air to dodge one of the Kaiwaremen's claws, and land a punch to it's shoulder, causing it to shrink back.
Aleister traded fist and claw with a Jinkouman, noting the power difference. "Huh! Never knew they came in different colors!"
Double D didn't want to risk being on the receiving end of an explosion, so he did what came naturally, and cupped his hands to his side, hoping to blast it away before the Jinkouman reached him. "Ka…me…ha-Yow!" It dived at him, and slammed both fists into him before he could even thrusts his hands out.
"Hold 'em off for me, lumpy!" Eddy took to the air, and left Ed to fend for himself. Luckily he was just the man for the job, dodging and blocking a few claw strikes as Eddy charged Ki again. "Now then, should I try that move again, or should I take a note from Sockhead? Heh…let's try it again!" He put his hand in the air, and formed a small ball of energy. With a bit of added concentration, he flattened it into an ultra thin spinning disk. "Oh yeah! Alright, Ed! Coming at 'em with a pizza delivery!" Eddy threw the Destructo Disc at them with lethal intent.
"Pizza!?" Ed turned around expectantly, only for the two Saibaman offshoots to lunge, and knock him down. They proceeded to claw and stomp him while he was down, only for one of the Kaiwaremen to get bisected by the oncoming disc that vanished after contact.
"Nice! Got one!" Eddy pumped his fist before the remaining Kaiwareman scowled, baring it's teeth at him.
"Gii-gi-gih!" It growled, soaring at him with deadly fury, clawing at him. Eddy took three strikes that tore his shirt and drew a little blood.
"Ahh! Dammit!"
Hearing Eddy curse, Ed hopped up to his feet. "Oh boy, I'll bet Eddy's glad we're not in a TV-Y7 rated show anymore." Deciding to help him, he mimicked Double D. "Kame-kame…" The blue sphere of energy manifested between his cupped hands. "Ha!" He threw his hands out, and fired the fast moving energy wave, with Double D berating him.
"Ed, you didn't even say it right!"
Eddy was in the process of boxing with the genetically engineered monstrosity, knocking it away before he noticed the oncoming attack. "Ack!" He locked his hands together and swung them, knocking it harmlessly to the ground, where it exploded. "Ed! If I want your help, I'll ask for it! Don't risk shooting me trying to hit the monster!"
"Whoops! Sorry Eddy!"
"Now where were we, freak? Oh, that's right. We were at the part where you f*ing DIE!" Eddy flew down to strike the Kaiwareman in the neck, firmly crippling it, and leaving it at death's door.
"Dodo-Ray!" Eddy jabbed his finger at it, after landing a good distance away, and shot a thin, hot Ki beam, which exploded immediately as it hit. The Kaiwareman was no more. He smirked. "Who's the man?"
"Not to be that guy, short stuff-" Leon said, as he dodged swipe after swipe, only loosing a hair or two from the Jinkouman's attack. "But it's 'Dodon' Ray, not Dodo-Ray."
"I know what I said!"
Leon put his hands out, and planted them into the Jinkouman's chest. "Boom!" He let his Ki explode from his hands, consuming the enemy and reducing it to nothingness.
The last remaining Jinkouman and Kaiwareman looked at each other and gave a croak, as they both held their clawed hands out toward Aleister and Double D.
"Huh…Is it me, or does it look like these guys wanna end things in a duel?" Aleister said as Double D cupped his hands again. He thrust his finger out, wrapping his left hand around his wrist. "Let's oblige 'em, Edd!"
"I wish I could say 'Gladly', but I'm not glad at all."
The four of them charged up their Ki, and readied for the ensuing struggle.
"Reigun/Kamehame-HA!" Aleister and Edd fired their attacks, the Kamehameha clashing immediately with the two enhanced Saibamen's beams. Aleister's Reigun engulfed Double D's blast, empowering it. The two beams struggled for a brief moment before overpowering the enemies' beams.
"Ki-ki/gihgigih!" The two Saibamen offshoots screeched as they were consumed in light.
Double D sighed and fell to his knees, sweat dribbling on the ground. Aleister patted him on the back. "Good work, buddy."
Eddy grimaced. "So, robots…plant monsters…what else can we look forward to?"
"No clue, but as long as bad guys keep coming, it makes for good training." Leon began before turning to Aleister. "I'll bet these guys really stirred a bunch of bad memories up, huh?"
"I don't wanna talk about it…" Aleister huffed. "Just glad we got rid of 'em."

From the shadows of the Bullb Order's hideout, Jonny angrily stomped his foot into the ground, ruffling his costume into disarray.
"Curses! Curse them all! Curse those dirty monkey ruffians!" He shouted. "I won't let this stand! I won't!" With an absentminded whip of his arm, Jonny was nearly blown off his feet, a nearby vase bursting into pieces.
The Gourd stood there, eyes transfixed on the shards of the ruined pottery. His lips transfixed into a wicked smile.
"Mheh-heh-heh-heh-heh!" He started to giggle wickedly, as he concentrated on his hatred for the Eds, and cupped his left hand, visualizing the dark purple orb of Ki that manifested.
