WFPW BRITISH INVASION 2023 KICKOFF PRE-SHOW

Venue: Resorts World Arena

Date: February 5th, 2023

State/City: Solihull, England

(A white background is shown on the screen as the words 'BRITISH INVASION' are typed out in bold white lettering and two metal poles holding the Union Jack flags waving rapidly appear. The scene transitions to inside the Resorts World Arena as 14,800 fans have come out tonight in support for the new promotion holding up signs like "WELCOME HOME, BUNNIES!" "SABRE IS BOSS!" "ENGLAND: WRESTLING'S TRUEST HOME!" "ENERGIZE ENGLAND!" "BURNING LIKE FIRE!" and "THIS IS SARAYA'S HOUSE!" The ringside area looked normal with the normal black barricade and black mats. There was a single announce table as well and the ring had a top white rope, a middle red rope, and a bottom white rope to represent England's colors tonight, the apron coverings were black with the WFPW logo (west and east) and the British Invasion logo (north and south) present on them. The stage itself looked like a fortress with a big titantron on top showing the show logo along with red castle doors acting as the entrance for wrestlers along with two mini-trons on the bottom set. The flags of England were displayed proudly on the sides of the titantron and three red phone boxes were shown on the left side of the stage. On the right side would sit a normal red English bus as the ramp was solid metal leading to the ring. Russ Markley would be shown in his normal tuxedo alone as he would provide commentary for the night.)

WFPW Commentator

Russ Markley ( foureyeswonder)

"Welcome to the kickoff pre-show for British Invasion, ladies and gentlemen! We are live from the Resorts World Arena in Solihull, England where many passionate fans have come out here to show their dedication to the sport. I would normally be joined here by my partner named Greg, but he missed his flight and has a nasty cold so he opted out of joining me here tonight. However, the show will go on as we have two matches that are qualifiers for the upcoming tournament for the SUPERNOVA Cruiserweight Championship. As far as I know, I'm the only one on commentary tonight, but I should be able to handle myself. Right now, I'll leave it to Tony Chimel who is in the ring right now," Russ explained.

(Tony could be seen standing in the middle of the ring wearing a black suit, blue buttoned up dress shirt, black tie, black suit pants, and black dress shoes as he raises his microphone.)

WFPW Ring Announcer

Tony Chimel ( TheTonyChimel)

"Ladies and gentlemen, your opening contest on the kickoff pre-show is a qualifier for the tournament to crown the inaugural SUPERNOVA World Cruiserweight Champion set for one-fall!" Tony announced.

("Style With A Smile" by Unknown)

(The crowd cheered a little bit as the signs went up and the first wrestler came out sporting natural light brunette hair with a beard as he wore white tape around his hands. He wore bright blue shorts with red triangles hanging down. This wrestler also wore Union Jack-colored wrestling boots with white laces as he pointed at them raising his fists in the air coming down the ramp.)

Xtreme

Dean Allmark ( DeanAllmark)

"Introducing first, from Stoke-on-Trent, England, weighing 181 lbs., he is "Xtreme" Dean Allmark!" Tony announced.

"A home country boy as Dean will help kick off a series of qualifiers tonight that will determine the future in the Cruiserweight tournament that will be held at a focal point in the future. Hardly young, but can move like it and has made his name on the European circuits for years now," Russ commented.

(Dean pointed to fans in the crowd asking for fives before he came ringside and he climbed the stairs before hopping over the top rope getting up one knee dusting himself off.)

("Running From Roy" by John Powell)

(The crowd cheered even louder as the camera panned to the stage to see a bald man wearing a white sleeveless tank top, red suspenders, black wristbands, blue ripped jeans, and black wrestling boots on as he smacked his face screaming coming down the ramp.)

Roy Knight ( RealRoyKnight)

"And his opponent, from Norwich, England, weighing at 210 lbs., Roy Knight!" Tony announced.

"Another home country guy and he is a bit more recognizable if you know the family he originated from. This is Roy Knight, the brother of current AEW star Saraya, and this is a big opportunity for him in front of his fans as he gets the chance to make them proud to qualify for this big international tournament," Russ explained.

(Roy slapped some hands with the fans and even hugged a little boy ringside talking to him and ruffling his brown hair as he turned his focus on the ring. He headed up the steels steps and in-between the ropes staring at Dean as Dean stretched his legs in the lower right corner.)

Tyrone Regis is the present referee for the match as he kept both men separated before he signaled for the bell to ring as both men started circling the other and they started off normal with a collar and elbow tie up. However, Dean went around back and held Roy by the waist, but Roy broke the grip and hit a Snapmare locking in a chinlock, but Dean kipped up getting Roy in a tight headlock getting some good cheers. Roy bashed at the back and got Dean in his own headlock giving their home country a nice chain wrestling montage. Roy whipped Dean into the upper right corner, but Dean ran up on top and hit a backflip off it before hitting Side Kicks to Roy getting him in the corner. Dean then held onto the top rope kicking at the chest and stomach of Roy.

"Off to an explosive start as Roy and Dean lock up with chain wrestling, but Dean seems to have added his agility to the mix," Russ stated.

Dean whips Roy across the ring before running, but he gets a boot to the face before Roy hits him with a Snap German Suplex. Dean grabs his head before Roy gets him up and whips him into the east ropes and on the rebound, Roy grabs him for an Exploder Suplex! Dean grabs his back as Roy gets him in a tight headlock and the fans drum on the barricade or their chairs excited for more action. Dean plucked Roy's arms off him before getting up to hit a brutal Headbutt to the nose. Dean runs the west ropes hitting a Jumping High Knee Strike making Roy go on his knees before he runs east hitting a Dropkick to the back. Dean then followed up with a Leg Drop to the back of Roy before turning Roy over for the pin.

"1…2…" The ref counted, but Roy kicked out after 2!

"Such fast action as the crusierweights are all about and Dean trying to dig deep in order to get over Roy," Russ stated.

Roy is picked up by Dean and bent forward between the legs as Dean hooks his hands, but Roy lifts Dean over him for a Back Body Drop. Dean grabs his back in pain before Roy gets him up to hit a Bodyslam on Dean. He then gets Dean back up and lifts him up before adopting his sister's older finisher she called the Ram-Paige hitting Dean straight into the mat. Dean was face planted into the mat as Roy lifted him on his back. Roy put his knees on Dean's shoulders to hold him down as he puts his hands on his hips.

"1…2…3!" The ref counted as Roy gets up raising his arms in the air!

("Running From Roy" by John Powell)

A short instant replay was shown as Roy reversed Dean into a Back Body Drop and then lifted him up to hit his sister's Ram-Paige for the three count.

"Here is your winner, Roy Knight!" Tony announced.

"A bit of a back and forth contest, but Roy was smart enough to catch Dean at the right time. It's always the set up time to counter against your opponent. Dean was surely going for a devastating move which would've hindered Roy further and Roy knew he had to strike. This kind of quick thinking could help him once the tournament starts," Russ explained.

ADVANCING TO THE TOURNAMENT: ROY KNIGHT

(A graphic showed up on the entrance stage as it displayed 16 black rectangles and one would be colored in showing Roy's figure as well as a small England flag just below him to represent his country. Roy smiled and climbed the lower right corner pointing to the crowd as Tyrone checked on Dean while Dean held his head.)

"Well, we have plenty more action coming up on our main show here tonight in England. Our main event puts generation against generation as Sting fights Zack Sabre Jr. One of the biggest stars to come out of Japan does battle with one of the biggest stars in the industry which makes this matchup once in a lifetime. Both men know their quick strikes and submissions and Sting is proving that his old age doesn't hold him back from delivering some good spots," Russ stated.

(A quick video package is shown to highlight Sting's tenure in AEW accompanying Darby Allin to matches, going through a table, and making two men tap out to his Scorpion Death Lock while Zack is shown in NJPW being a multi-time champion while challenging some of the greatest in the country. Both men would then be shown on the title card as the crowd anticipated that match for later in the night,)

"Not to mention, we have the wrestling debut of Tamao Silver and she takes on the winner of the 50-woman LAW Battle Royal that happened at Presidential Power, "Tigress" Tina Armstrong. Tamao gave Tina a nice homefield advantage, but how much of an advantage will it be when these two vixens step inside the ring tonight?" Russ asked.

(Tamao's boxing matches would be shown in a video package along with Tina's reign as LAW Middleweight Champion in Japan along with her eliminating Selket to win the latest battle royal. Both women are shown on the title card as well facing each other with their fists raised.)

"It'll be interesting to see how Tamao will adapt to the squared circle rather than a boxing ring for once, but she will have a strong obstacle to overcome in Tina. Tina outlasted 49 other women to win last month and Tamao set the challenge for over here in England so we will see if that was a wise decision to make," Russ explained.

("Hit That" by The Offspring)

(A cheerful man comes out skipping and stomping in place as he had long auburn hair covered by a backwards blue baseball cap. He wore a black t-shirt with his face plastered on the front holding a thumbs up and flashing a cheeky grin along with "SINGLE AND LOVIN' IT!" on the back in white lettering. He wore blue denim jeans with gold and black rivets going down his sides, a black belt with a gold buckle sporting the numbers '144' on the front and black converse sneakers with white laces and soles. The last thing he wore was some sunglasses with a blue trim as he pointed to the fans yelling "SINGLE LIFE, BABY!" to the camera.)

Shane Alanatt ( PeacefulBachelor)

"Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is set for one-fall and is a qualifier to see who will compete in the tournament to crown the inaugural SUPERNOVA World Cruiserweight Champion! Introducing first, from Des Monies. Iowa, weighing 199 lbs., Shane Alanatt!" Tony announced.

"This guy preaches about the single life and how happy it makes him. A true bachelor on the run here in wrestling living it up. A massive opportunity here for him to mark his name on WFPW if he can get to that tournament for the title," Russ stated.

(Shane did some funny dance moves down the ramp and even hit a moonwalk getting the crowd riled up in laughs. They cheered him on as he came ringside hopping on the west apron before heading inside. Shane did a front flip and climbed the lower right corner smacking the top pad and raised both hands in the air.)

("Sympathy for the Devil" by Motörhead)

(The crowd cheered loudly as Ryan "Fireball" Brown came out first in a white "Mad Tea Party" t-shirt, blue jeans, and red sneakers as he clapped his hands together with the crowd ushering his best friend, George Fortunato, out onto the stage in front of his home country. George wore a white dress shirt underneath a black, golden-trimmed, sleeveless vest, dark navy blue tights, black wrestling boots, and a dark grey top hat with a purple band. The hat sat atop his pastel-colored head as he carried his bunny cane nervously, but taking a bow for his native audience.)

The Cockney Flame

George Fortunato ( thewolfandthebunny) w/ Ryan "Fireball" Brown ( TheFireball)

"And his opponent, being accompanied by Ryan "Fireball" Brown, representing the Mad Tea Party, from East End, London, England, by way of Tokyo, Japan, weighing 173 lbs., "The Cockney Flame" George Fortunato!" Tony announced.

"This is George, the wrestling manager for his Mad Tea Party faction that consists of himself, Ryan, and his girlfriend, Chelsea Forster. This will be his official debut in the ring as he has had training the last six months leading up to this moment. This is definitely nerve-wracking considering the opportunity this presents and he probably didn't expect this for his first match. He also owns The Wolf and The Bunny pub with a branch in London not too far from here and a branch in Tokyo where he resides," Russ explained.

(George embraced his fellow Englishmen and women as he gave some hugs to the older ladies in the crowd and then fired off confetti in the shape of a top hat as he tried calming his nerves. Ryan patted his back and helped undress him from the vest and shirt. Underneath his entrance gear, he had a purple bow tie and purple suspenders. Ryan passed George some black fingerless gloves as the peacock dresser started putting them on and his muscular body was shown being a bit ripped in appearance.)

As George came up the steel steps and through the ropes, Shane came over to give the Englishman a friendly handshake in good faith as George accepted saying "That is a wonderful gesture, thank you!" audibly and Shane said "No problem, bro. It's always the first match jitters." Shane took off his ballcap throwing it to a crowd member in the front row on the east side and took off his shirt and sunglasses setting them outside. George took off his top hat and passed it to Ryan as Ryan grabbed it wishing good luck to George and tried pumping up the crowd for his friend as the chants "GEORGE! GEORGE! GEORGE! GEORGE! GEORGE!" fired off and the flamboyant bar manager hopped in place loosening his arms. The official for the match is Matt Belmont as he kept both separated and he rang the bell as Shane and George both ran around in a circle before locking up.

"It seems George has stumbled upon a case of nervousness for his first match and with the stakes involved in this contest, it's not hard to not blame him. He's fighting for a shot at competing for a title in his home country and he's not keen on letting his fans down," Russ observed.

George got caught in a headlock before Shane takes him down in the middle of the ring as the ref stays nearby. George frails for a minute before twisting his body as Shane loosened his hold, but Shane got George up in a front facelock wrenching down hard on the head and neck. George knee'd Shane a couple times to get him off as he grabbed the left arm locking in a wrist lock behind Shane's back. Shane winced as George transitioned the other arm into the Cobra Clutch, but Shane backed George into the upper right corner. Shane then hit a few clotheslines in the corner making George spit out and groan. Shane then gets on the middle rope starting to rain ten punches down on George's head before punching the head some more. Shane got down at the request of the referee before hitting a Running Bulldog on George!

"George showing off his expertise for the basics, but it's clear where Shane outmatches him in experience so this will be an uphill battle," Russ stated.

George grabbed his face as Shane locked him in a Camel Clutch sitting on his back and pulling up the chin hard. George groaned as Ryan slapped the apron shouting words of battle at George as George made fists with his free hands. George then puffs his cheeks and summons the strength to lift Shane up on his back before slamming him down on the canvas as Shane grabs his back in pain. George hits hard strikes to Shane's head to make him pay before locking Shane into a La Magistral Rollup Pin as the referee gets down!

"1…2…" The referee counted, but Shane kicks out after 2!

Shane rolls up to his feet, but George catches him with a vicious chop and then another one and another one and another one and another backing him up to the east ropes. George whips Shane off them before trying for a Knee Strike, but Shane catches the knee delivering a chop to the chest. George coughed violently going down on his knees before Shane ran the south ropes hitting a Bicycle Knee Strike to the back of George's head getting a mixed reaction. Shane turned George over hooking both legs!

"1…2…" The ref counted as George got the shoulder up at 2.6!

"George got some momentum there, but Shane is more knowledgeable in what to reverse so he found his own way out of that," Russ stated.

Shane gets George up into a seated position as he hops in place hyping the crowd up before running the east ropes hitting a Rolling Somersault Neckbreaker to George! George grabbed his neck in pain as Shane gets up yelling "SINGLE LIFE!" getting some rowdy cheers in return. He grabs George legs and locks in the Figure Four Leg Lock as the crowd shouts "WOOOOO!" as George riles on the mat in pain. George pushed himself back and fought through the pain managing to grab the east bottom rope which prompted the referee to let him out of the hold. Shane tried grabbing George's legs, but George clung to the bottom rope which got the referee to separate them. Shane tried grabbing the legs again, but George rolled outside as he needed breathing room. The referee started the count on him as he regrouped with Ryan.

"George needing some time out of the ring and taking advantage of the ten count grace period being awarded to him," Russ added.

George and Ryan shared some words as Shane just did a backflip to get cheap cheers from the crowd and George rolled back in at 7 before facing Shane. George started with jabs to the face and the crowd clapped at each one, but Shane delivered a Headbutt getting George on the south ropes. George ducked under avoiding a right punch before using the top and middle ropes to lift himself up dropkicking Shane on his back. George then went on the south apron jumping on the top rope hitting a Springboard 450 DDT to amaze the audience! "GEORGE!" chants filled the arena again as George flashed them a cheeky grin and bowed to the audience before picking Shane up placing him in the lower left corner. He backed up and then hit a Corner Dropkick to Shane before hitting a Snapmare completing his girlfriend's Jackrabbit Jackhammer!

"The Jackrabbit Jackhammer made special by George's girlfriend, Chelsea Forster, and one he seemed to pick up to pay respect back to her," Russ explained.

George then climbed up the corner and stood at the top pointing to Ryan before executing the Five-Star Frog Splash on Shane! The crowd cheered as George sat on Shane's stomach hooking both legs back!

"1…2…3!" The referee counted as George fell off winning his debut match!

("Sympathy for the Devil" by Motörhead)

The instant replay had shown the excellent chain wrestling between both men in the beginning and showed the closing moments as George hit the Jackrabbit Jackhammer as well as the Frog Splash for the closing pin.

"Here is your winner, "The Cockney Flame" George Fortunato!" Tony announced.

"What a way to pull off a good victory and this opportunity is now being capitalized on as George has set the route forward for him. It is a tough loss for Shane, but he did as much as he could to keep this flamboyant manager down. That was not going to kill George's sparkle and he takes one step towards securing his own legacy," Russ stated.

ADVANCING TO THE TOURNAMENT: GEORGE FORTUNATO

(George held his head and started tearing up a bit as Ryan got in hugging his best friend and they celebrated as George climbed the lower right corner beating his chest to the English people. Shane grabbed his head and stomach holding a smile as he shrugged his shoulders getting up as George gave him a firm handshake. Shane even mentioned "Pub drinks on me, bruh?" and George said back "No, on me, mate!" George definitely made a new friend tonight as Shane showed sportsmanship raising George's right arm. The rectangles reappeared on the top titantron as George took the second one next to Roy and a England flag was placed on his picture representing him well.)

("Our House" by Dale Oliver)

(The crowd turned to the stage as the words "CEO OF WFPW" shined across the board as Hank Strongbow Williams made his way out greeting the English fans. Ryan, Shane, and George exited the ring as the big boss came down wearing a bright blue suit jacket with a yellow dress shirt and red tie tucked in. He wore bright blue suit pants and brown dress shoes as he came down slapping fives with some of the fans.)

CEO and Commissioner of World Frontier Pro Wrestling

Hank Strongbow Williams ( CEOHank)

"Whoa, I wasn't expecting to see Mr. Williams out here tonight and it's about 15 minutes left on the pre-show so he must want to make this quick before we have to end the broadcast and get to the pay-per-view," Russ observed.

(Hank came to the steel steps heading up them as Matt Belmont passed him Tony's microphone and held the ropes open for his employer. Hank nodded as the referee left the ring and Hank shook hands with Tony before the ring announcer left. The music ended and the English crowd cheered on Hank as he brought the microphone up to his mouth.)

"Hey England!" Hank greeted to the big cheers from the crowd. "That's what I love hearing. It never gets old coming here and even for a retired old fart like myself, I still love hearing those Britain chants each and every occasional stop I make. Well, I wanted to make this quick and say that this launch tour has been fantastic. We're making use of our partnerships and we have incredible talent starting to sign on to what is sure to be one of the big leagues. I never thought in my own life I would be standing here. I was just slumming it out in WCW and looking up to the greats that I soon rivaled."

(The crowd started chanting "YOU DESERVE IT! YOU DESERVE IT! YOU DESERVE IT!" as Hank smiled before returning to talking.)

"That means a lot. I also learned that I turn 70 this year. Holy cow, you never really notice how old you get when you start counting," Hank joked as the crowd enjoyed a nice chuckle. "But why I'm out here is to pave an end goal for this little road we are on. We have WrestleMania, we have Double or Nothing, and we have Wrestle Kingdom. Every promotion needs their own packed show. That's why….I'm proud to announce….Homecoming. A big annual pay-per-view that puts the best of the best we have and titles galore will be splurging as well."

(The crowd cheered with the epic announcement of the first major event and Hank shoved his right hand in his pocket smiling about.)

"And to be a little more exciting. Since I like to view Europe as where wrestling is at it's best, we are heading to London for this event! Right here in England!" Hank screamed as the crowd went into an uproar and "YES!" chants.

"Our first big show right here in England? That's quite the announcement!" Russ exclaimed.

"Oh, Russ, sorry to hear about Greg. Don't think I'm going to let you call the matches all on your own. I think I got the best replacement for Greg tonight. Let me introduce a native of this country and one of the first of many to show up, Rockstar Spud!" Hank announced to a big cheer from the crowd.

("London Calling" by Dale Oliver)

(The crowd cheered as the red bow tie started appearing on the mini-trons with the former 205 Live general manager coming out in a Union Jack-designed sports coat, red dress shirt, black bow tie, black dress pants, and black dress shoes. He started wilding out on the stage throwing his hands down before heading down the ramp.)

Rockstar Spud ( SpudWFPW)

"Well, looks like I'm not lonely for the night, anyway! Here comes some calvary for tonight!" Russ exclaimed as he stood up.

(Spud comes around the south side and stops to shake hands with Hank as he finally makes it to the announce table shaking hands with Russ before grabbing a headset.)

"This is amazing to have you here! Welcome Spud!" Russ greeted with a friendly smile as he sat back down.

"Bow tie brothers are in the building! We are ready for British Invasion," Spud stated.

"That we are, partner! Hank has made a momentous announcement of our first big show called Homecoming making the way towards London at a later date. It's going to be a big night for this company when we eventually get there. However, it's time for this kickoff pre-show to end as we have a long show already in front of us. This is Russ Markley and Rockstar Spud now signing off and see you on pay-per-view!" Russ concluded.

(Hank celebrated with the crowd before it looked like he was exiting the ring and the screen went to pitch black as the letters of WFPW flashed across the screen ending the kickoff pre-show.)
