Attack from the Deep.
It was after Sora secured his win against Rex Raptor earning his first win. The group is seen around a dueling ring. Kairi was challenged by a dark skinned boy named Zeke..
"Ready to throw down girlie?" Asked Zeke,
"I'm ready to throw down so let's do this" said Kairi getting in the blue end while her opponent goes for the red,
"Don't go crying to daddy when I beat you." Teased Zeke.
"Oh, I won't, because I don't plan on losing!" Kairi retaliated.
"Since you only have two Star Chips and I have four, I only have to wager two." Zeke stated as he and Kairi took two Star Chip off of their Dueling Glove, and placed it at the top of the dueling mat.
"Unlike the other fields on the island, this one doesn't have any, so neither of us get a field power bonus. Think you can manage?" Said Zeke
"Yeah." Said Kairi
"Then let's duel!" Zeke shouted.
LP: Kairi: 2000/Zeke: 2000
"Ladies first. And I ll start with a magic card called Graceful Charity" said Kairi revealing a magic card with an Angel holding a card made of light, "I can draw three cards but I must discard two to the card Graveyard."
She draws her three cards and then sends two of them to the card graveyard,
"Next I'll summon my Luminous Soldier in attack mode" said Kairi.
A warrior wearing white bulky armor with flames decal on it. A sun-like helm was on his face and he wielded a sword that had sharp like ends on it.
Luminous Soldier ATK/DEF:2100/1400
"I'll throw down two facedown and I'll call it" said Kairi, two squares glow behind Luminous Soldier.
"My turn." Said Zeke drawing from his deck. "Say hello to my friend Maurading Captain!
A knight with short blonde hair wearing silver armor appeared on his side of the field holding a sword and shield.
Marauding Captain ATK/DEF:1200/400.
"And thanks to his special effect, I can summon another level 4 monster to the field and I chose my Giant Rat in defense mode!"
A giant blue rat appeared next to Marauding Captain in defense mode.
Giant Rat: ATK/DEF:1400/1450.
"That's all for now" said Zeke,
"Okay….my turn" said Kairi drawing from her deck starting her turn, she then showed a magic card with a ruins under a rainbow. "'I play the field spell, Ancient City, Rainbow Ruins!"
she placed the card into her field zone and before everyone knew it. Her side of the arena was changed into an ancient arena with a Rainbow above the monsters. The spectators were taken back to the ruins.
"Next I summon Crystal Beast Sapphire Pegasus in attack mode, ' Kairi said.
"Crystal Beast?" asked Zeke.
a sapphire came out of the ground and took the shape of Sapphire Pegasus.a white Pegasus with a sapphire horn and two sapphires in his wings
Crystal Beasts Sapphire Pegasus ATK/DEF:1800/1200
. "alright. time for some action" said Sapphire before stomping his feet on the ground next to Luminous Soldier. 'I activate his special effect. When this card is Summoned: I can place 1 "Crystal Beast" monster from my hand, Deck or Graveyard into my spell and trap card zone and I choose Ruby Carbuncle!"
A red Ruby appeared in her free spell and trap card zone. "Crystal Beast Sapphire Pegasus, take down his Maurading Captain with Sappire Tornado!" Kairi said,
"For the Light!" Said Sapphire Pegasus before he flaps his wings creating a blue like tornado that destroys Maurading Captain.

"And now Luminious soldier will take out your Giant Rat with Luminious Blade!"
Her soldier sliced Giant Rat in half,
"You activated my monsters special ability…I can summon one earth monster with 1500 or less attack points and I chose my Giant Soldier of Stone in defense mode." said Zeke
A giant soilder made entirely out of stone appeared in defense mode.
Giant Soldier of Stone-ATK/DEF: 1300/2000.
"I'll end my turn for now." Said Kairi.
"She got a good lead." Said Joey.
"True she did but don't ever underestimate your opponents Joey, they can surprise you when you don't expect it." Said Yugi, the others agreeing but sora wasn't worried. Not one bit,
"Not bad toots…my turn" said Zeke drawing from his deck and he grinned, "I summon my Stone Dragon on attack mode!"
A large dragon made out of stone came out next to Giant Soldier of Stone. The dragon roared at Kairis two monsters.
Stone Dragon-ATK/DEF:2000/2300.
"Your Stone Dragon can't barely damage my Sapphire Pegasus let alone go against my Luminous soldier." Said Kairi.
"True but I have a magic card called Gaia Power!" Said Zeke revealing a magic card with a giant tree. Said tree appeared on the field and it gave strength to the two rock monsters. "All earth monsters on my side of the field gain five hundred attack points but lose four hundred defense points,
Stone Dragon-ATK/DEF:2500/1900.
Giant Soldier of Stone-ATK/DEF: 1800/1600.
"I'll be moving my giant soldier of stone into attack mode and he will attack your Sapphire Pegasus!"
"Our monsters are the same attack points! They'll destroy each other" said Kairi,
"That's what I'm counting on." Said Zeke. giant soldier of stone and Sapphire Pegasus clashed which ended with both getting destroyed. But Zeke and the others were not expecting the crystal to remain, "why is there a giant sapphire still on the field."
"My sapphire pegasus has a special ability, when destroyed, I can have the crystal remain in my spell and trap card zone which lets me and i activated my Crystal tree magic card I placed at the beginning of the duel." Kairi said.
A purple tree grew right behind Luminious soldier. "Crystal Tree?" Asked Zeke,
"Every time I place a crystal beast in my spell and trap card zone, I get a fruit and since I just put my pegasus in my spell zone, I get a crystal fruit," said Kairi. After she said that, a Crystal fruit grew on her tree.
"My turn is still not done yet girly, my Stone Dragon will destroy your Luminious soldier with Sand breath attack!" Said Zeke. Stone Dragon opened its mouth and fired sand right at Luminous soldier who was vested by the dragon.

"That's all for now." Said Zeke.
"That strategy cleared Kairis field of all her monsters anc Zeke now has a monster with twenty five hundred attack points. A bold move" Said Kisara.
"I'm not too worried, Kairis got this." Said Sora watching his girlfriend. Kairi draws from her deck and she had another plan of attack, "I summon Crystal Beast Amber Mammoth in Defense Mode!"
An Amber appeared before it glowed to take the form of a grey wooly mammoth with an orange gem in his forehead. He was sitting on his back legs

Amber mammoth looked at Kairi. "I will be your shield Kairi"
Kairi nodded before she then picked up her other facedown card. "Now I activate my Crystal Bond magic card…this lets me pick a Crystal Beast from my deck and add it to my hand and then I get to also place a crystal beast into my spell and Trap zone….i choose my Amethyst Cat to go onto my Spell and Trap zone ."
An amethyst appeared next to her Sapphire. Her tree grows another crystal fruit since another crystal beast was placed in her spell and trap zone.
"And now I activate my Crystal Beacon magic card," said Kairi, revealing her next card. "This magic card allows me to summon any Crystal Beast from my deck just as long as I have two crystals in my spell and Trap card Zone..and I choose my Crystal Beast Emerald Tortoise in defense mode."
An Emerald appeared before it took the shape of a blue turtles shell that had emeralds on the back. A pair of Green Eyes are see. Looking though the shell.
Crystal Beast Emerald Tortoise,-ATK/DEF-600/2000
Emerald Tortoise looked at everyone watching the duel. "Oh man, why are there so many duelist looking at me,"
/don't worry Emerald, your my defense, I'm counting on you/ kairi said mentally,
"Okay…I'll do it," said Emerald Tortoise.
"You activated my Trap! Defense Paralysis." Said Zeke revealing his trap card,
"Oh no!" Exclaimed Kairi.
"Now all monsters are forced onto Attack Mode for the duration of the duel." Said Zeke. Amber Mammoth, and Emerald Tortoise are forced into attack mode.
"My next turn my Stone Dragon will destroy your turtle and give me the victory." Said Zeke.
"Not if I take it out. .i reveal my facedown card….Monster Reborn."
"That card lets you bring back any monster from both of our graveyards!," exclaimed Zeke,
"Yep and it's one I sent to the graveyard at the beginning of the Duel….Venus the Light Magician."
A portal of light opened and Venus came out of the light, she twirled her staff ready for battle.
Venus the Light Magician:ATK/DEF:2500/2100.
"Your magician is evenly match for my Stone Dragon" said Zeke,
"I know, I have my last magic card that can give her a boast. My Luminous Spark Magic card! This raises my magician's attack power by five hundred but she loses four hundred defense points," said Kairi.
Venus glowed with a golden aura and she felt her attack power increase.
Venus the Light Magician:ATK/DEF:3000/1700.
"Venus the Light Magician, destroy his Stone Dragon with Light Magic attack!"
Venus raises her hand and the Stone Dragon is destroyed into tiny pieces.

"Heck yeah Girlfriend!" Exclaimed Tea,
"That's showing him that girls rule and Boys drool" said Miho patty caking with tea,
"Hey!" Exclaimed the boys.
"Not you guys" said Kisara with a giggle,
"Alright,,,I'm done messing around." Said Zeke drawing from his deck, "I play Card of Santity, so we both get to draw until we're holding Six cards."
Kairi draws her six and so does Zeke.
"Now i summon my Sengenjin in attack mode" said Zeke,
A blue cyclops appeared on the field with a lot of weapons on his back.
Sengenjin- ATK/DEF-2750/2300
"Hey Tristan, you have that card too right?" Asked Sora.
"Yeah." Said Tristan.
"And thanks to my Defense Paralysis trap card, your monsters can't go into Defense mode…Sengenjin! Destroy her Emerald Tortoise with Millenium Punch!" Said Zeke,
Sengenjin the took aim with his fist ready to destroy Kairis tortoise. "She's gonna lose the duel, her tortoise has only eight hundred attack points." Said Joey.
"I activate my Mammoths ability…if a crystal beast is targeted while he is on the field. The attack instead goes for him."
Sengenjin then aimed for Amber Mammoth who took the hit for Emerald Tortoise.
LP: Kairi: 550/Zeke: 900
"I'm not though yet…I also have this magic card! Raigeki!" Said Zeke revealing a magic card that had bolts on it.
"Not good, that magic card destroys all monsters the opponent controls!" Said Yugi,
Bolts of lightning shoot from the sky. Venus and Emerald Tortoise are destroyed by the spell. Leaving Kairi defenseless."
"I say I got this duel in the bag….i doubt you have any monster that can go toe to toe with Sengenjin." Laughed Zeke,
"Like my boyfriend says, the duel isn't over until the last card is played." Said Kairi drawing from her deck, "I activate Amber Mammoths ability to come back to the field as a crystal."
An Amber appeared beside the Sapphire and Ruby, you know what that means. I get another fruit." Said Kairi. A third fruit grows on the tree which it now glows."now I can sacrifice my Tree for three more crystals on my spell and Trap card zone but I only have two slots and I choose Cobalt Eagle and Topaz Tiger."
A cobalt and a topaz appeared. Many of the onlookers were confused by why she was placing gems on the field and no monsters,
"You know your field is comepletly opened and with no monsters? How do you plan to get past my Sengenjin with just those gems." Said Zeke.
"When all seven crystal beasts are on the field or in the Graveyard. I can now call forth my strongest monster." Said Kairi feeling the power radiating from the Rainbow Dragon,
" she's really gonna play it" said Kisara with a glee. Even Yugi and Joey were anxious to see the Rainbow Dragon."
"I summon the All powerful. rainbow Dragon." Said Kairi playing the card on the field. The seven gems glowed with the color of the rainbow before they merged into one. Soon a majestic white serpent like dragon the size of exodia appeared with Angel wings and the seven gems on its neck and four yellow Dragon roared when he was was coiled around Kairis duel platform. he towered above Sengenjin and Zeke.
Rainbow Dragon-ATK/DEF:4000/0.
"It's huge!" Exclaimed Joey seeing the size of the dragon.
"Just as big as Exodia." Said Yugi. Kisara had heart eyed pupils just on seeing the Rainbow Dragon being played.
"its beautiful" said Miho in awe at the Rainbow Dragon.
"I thought it was just a myth." Said Zeke staring at the rainbow dragon.
"Just a myth. This is the real thing and my Dragon is much stronger than Sengenjin." Said Kairi.
"Oh man and I don't have any cards to defend him!" Exclaimed Zeke looking at his hand and saw he only had monster cards on his hand.
" Go Rainbow Dragon!, attack his Sengenjin with Rainbow Ray!" Exclaimed Kairi. The seven gems on the rainbow dragons neck glowed before the dragon opened his mouth and fired a rainbow beam at Sengenjin. The cyclops was blasted by the dragon.

"I lost." Said Zeke falling on his knees. Kairi was still looking at the Rainbow Dragon who looked at her with his yellow eyes before vanishing back to his card, "I think he accepted me as his master/ thought kairi.
The two got off the platform before Zeke offered his hand to Kairi. Kairi shook his hand and returned it, "Great duel….your rainbow dragon is super strong. You can win this whole thing."
"Thanks." Said Kairi before Zeke pulled out his two star chips. "Here my star chips."
"Thanks you, lets duel again real soon," said Kairi.
Zeke left to go find another challenge and Kairi went over to her boyfriend. he gqve her a peck on the lips. "you were great KaiL said Sora,
"great duel Kairi." Said Yugi.
"I so want to duel agianst you with my dragons very soon" said Kisara
Everyone suddenly heard a rumbling noise and turned to Joey, who was the source of the sound, making the blonde blush and chuckle sheepishly. "Man, all of this dueling is making me hungry."
"Im getting kinda hungry too Kisara" said Kimi.
"Not to worry, We packed food and camping equipment, let's go find a spot to make lunch," said Kairi.
"Ahhh yeah!" Said Joey getting hungry,
The group headed off to find a spot away from the other duelists and came to a cliff. Joey smelled food and he saw some fish being cooked over a fire not too far from them, "looks like someone else has the same idea of setting uo near the cliff." Said Tea,
"Yeah, to have a little quiet from the other duelists." Said Miho
"Aw man, that smell is making me hungry." Said Joey.
"Not to worry Joey, give me a minute" said Sora before summoning Kingdom Key and he then pointed the weapon at his bag anc in a matter of moments. A campsite was all set up which included a picnic table, chairs and a fire pit.
"How did you get this to fit in your bag? Wait…" said Tristan.
"Yep. Magic…Donald taught me a few spells to make it easier to pack up our campsite when I took my Mark of mastery exam." Said Sora before Kairi brought out some patties and hotdogs, "how does some hamburgers and Hotdogs sound for lunch?" Asked Kairi.
"Sounds Good" said Joey and Tristan taking a seat at the table only for Kisara and Miho to grab them by the ears. "Go get the firewood," said Miho. the two boys went off to find firewood and Sora pulled out the portable grill he had bought with them, he then went over to start seasoning the patties.
"Kimi can use these to cook her hotdogs with" said Kairi with some marshmallow roaster sticks. "Perfect." Said Kisara with a smile.
Joey and Tristan returned with the firewood, "okay, anyone got a match?" Asked Joey.
"I have one…..Fire" said Kairi firing a weak fireball right at the bundle of wood, setting it ablaze. Joey anc Tristan jump back. "Watch where you're aiming!" Exclaimed Joey.
Kimi and Miho laugh at the boys reaction. Sora is now cooking the burgers on a small grill. "Hey tea, can you help me with cutting the toppings?" Asked Kairi.
"Sure" said Tea,
"I'll help too" said Kisara.
While they were at their campsite. Several teens had also smelled the Fish and saw the group not to far from them. "Isn't that Yugi Moto?" Said one boy,
"Yeah, I also see Kisara White with him and that girl Kairi who uses the Rainbow Dragon," said another boy. Their stomachs growled for food and they saw the fish roasting in the fire. "Hey look, free fish!"
"Let's grab it and go" said the third boy before they grab the roasted fish and take off.
"Alright everyone, it's chow time" said Sora. The burgers were done and there were small bags of chips to go along with their lunch.
"Time to dig in" everyone exclaimed. Everyone took a bite before their eyes turn into stars before they enjoyed their lunch. "Oh man.. that's the juiciest burger I've eaver eaten in my life " said Joey, he patted his stomach.
"My complements to the chef" said Tristan.
"Trust me guys. Sora couldn't even cook a pizza to save his life growing up but he was trained by a Professional chef and now he cooks like a Professional." Said Kairi drinking her soda. .
"Yeah, I was really bad" said sora rubbing the back of his head.
"Well you got two thumbs up from me" said Kisara.
"HEY!" Exclaimed an angry voice. All heads turn to see a boy with spiky black hair and wore cut-off jeans and a dueling glove. He had a harpoon with a fish skewered on it. "How dare you steal my fish, don't you have any man..." A tidal wave splashed against the shore and washed him over the cliff. Fortunately, he survived. A barrier protected their small camp thanks to the keybearers magic, Miho and Tristan were unlucky for they were hit by the tidal wave.
"Hey you okay?" Asked Sora coming over to check on him.
", let's try that again How dare you steal my fish, you bottom-dwelling thieves!" Shouted the man,
"What fish?" said Kairi before noticing the fish that was roasting near the fire was missing,
"Fish that do not belong to you! And to steal a fisherman's catch proves you have no honor!"
"Hey, wait a minute," Yugi said, eyeing the glove. "Aren't you Mako Tsunami, the top-rank ocean-based Duelist?"
"And who might you be?" The boy asked in return.
"Hey yeah, you're that freaky fish guy," Joey agreed.
"I AM NOT A FREAKY FISH GUY! I am Mako Tsunami, Duelist extraordinaire of the seven seas!" Mako paused in his introduction as Miho who had freed Tristan's head burst into laughter. "Uh... what are you laughing about?"
"Your head! You got company." Miho pointed to the small squid that attached itself to Mako's hair. Mako growled and threw the squid back into the ocean.
"I'm Yugi Moto," Yugi introduced. "Sorry about your fish."
Mako gasped, "You're Yugi Moto, the only Duelist to ever defeat Seto Kaiba?" He gasped in shock. Yugi nodded, making the ocean duelist laugh. "What a surprise! It will be a great honor to face you in a duel."
"I've heard of you as well Mako." Said Kisara,
"And I know you as Kisara White..the Dragon Mistress and the only one to own the Blue Eyes Shining Dragon." Said Mako.
"We didnt steal your fish, we were just having our own lunch. Minding our own buisness." Said Sora, mako looked at their campsite and saw their finished lunch,
" I must apologize, perhaps you would like to share?" Said Mako offering some fish,
"I can eat some more" said Joey,
"Me too" said Tristan,
"Seriously. Do you guys have bottomless pits!" Exclaimed Tea. Joey and Tristan hoped themselves to Makos fish. "How did you learn to cook fish so good Mako?" Asked Joey after finishing the fish.,
"I had to fend for myself since I was a tadpole but it was my father who taught me how to fish and cook."
"So what brings you here to the competition?" Yugi asked.
"I was raised on a fishing boat where I learned to love the sea," Mako began. "So if I win here, I would be able to get a vessel of my very own. Of course, I'll have to beat a few Duelists first." He laughed hardily.
"Your own boat? That would be so cool, living out on the blue open sea." Said Yugi
"Yes, the ocean is amazing," Mako agreed. "And we have shared a special bond since I was born. I can tell when the sea is happy by the way it sparkles... and when it is angry, by the shifting tides."
"Yeah," Sora said. "Were islanders too, so I know what it's like, Mako."
Kairi nodded remembering the few hurricanes that hit Destiny Islands,
"Well, it's been great, Mako," Joey said.
"Leaving so soon, are you?" Mako asked in what appeared to be disappointment.
"Yeah, there's still lots of duelists to meet and defeat," Joey said with a smile.
"Maybe we'll meet up later in the competition," Yugi said as he and the others started to walk off when a spear suddenly came flying and embedded the ground close to his foot, making him and the others freeze, wide eyed with shock.
"What's the big idea!" Joey demanded in a yell as they all turned to face Mako. "You coulda hurt someone!"
"I'm challenging you Yugi Moto to a duel." Said Mako.
"You try to skewer Yugi and expect him to accept your challenge for a duel?" Tea said with rising fury.
"Wait, Tea," Sora whispered. "Look, the harpoon almost hit Yugi but it didn't. If Mako was truthful and he really is an expert in the sea, then he could've easily pierced one of Yugi's organs with it, but he didn't. I bet for him, that's an equivalent of throwing down the gauntlet, a challenge."
"He could've just asked him instead of spearing him." Tea deadpanned.
"He's nuts," Joey commented, not hearing Sora's explanation.
"No but I am an expert fisherman and I had you take the bait."
"What bait?" Sora asked.
"Why, the fish of course. My way of luring my opponents to the sea." He pointed to them,. "But I never expected to catch Yugi Moto or Kisara White. I reeled in another Duelist a short time ago, but he was not a worthy catch." He pointed to Yugi. "But a duel against you would be an excellent test!"
The powers of the Millennium Puzzle were released into Yugi as he switched into what Tea affectionately called 'Dueling Mode.' "Mako Tsunami, I accept your challenge," he said.
Miho blew on her whistle and a dueling arena rose from the sea. Yugi, Mako, and Miho took their places. The arena was split into two halves, one half was land and the other was sea. Sora and Kairi went back to their campsite and picked it up. They then rejoined the others,
"Name your stakes," Yugi requested.
"I'll wager two stars."
"Two stars," Yugi agreed. They each removed the stars from their gloves and placed them on the table.
"Let's duel!" Yugi and Mako cried out.
Mako was ecstatic about dueling Yugi Moto. 'Finally, a real test of my dueling strength,' he thought. The life point counters were set and the duel began.

"This should be some match," Tea commented.
"Sink that soggy sucker, Yugi!" Joey cheered.
"I'm curious to see how you deal with my mighty denizens of the deep," Mako said, summoning a monster. But to Yugi and the other's surprise, it didn't appear. Rather, the only clue that it had been summoned was that an area of Mako's sea-side of the field was glowing. This could only mean one thing: the monster was under water.
"How can I choose what card to play when I don't even know what I am fighting?" Yugi wondered.
"This I don't like," Joey muttered.
"The sea conceals many things beneath its shifting surface," Mako commented.
"As long as that thing stays submerged, I can't attack."
"Oh, I promise it won't stay submerged for very long," Mako assured him.
'I better prepare for the worst,' Yugi decided. 'With as strong of a defense as possible.'
'Clearly this is Yugi's first encounter with sea-based Duel Monsters,' Mako thought, noticing Yugi's bewildered expression. 'He will learn first hand what a powerful ally the sea can be. It gives my creatures a field power bonus, and it conceals them, making their stealthy attacks even more lethal.'
"How can Yugi fight what he can't see?" Joey asked.
"This isn't good," Tea said.
"Something fishy is going on here," Tristan complained.
"On the contrary, it's all on the up and up," Sora revealed. "It's like what Weevil said, the fields chosen for each duel are exact representations of surrounding environments. I bet anything Mako's monster is fish-related, and can survive under water."
"It seems that my ocean-based strategy has caught you completely by surprise, Yugi," Mako called.
'Maybe so,' Yugi admitted. 'But I can still raise a strong defense.' "I call upon the Horned Imp!" A rock-colored imp with a horn on his head appeared.

"Now, Fiend Kraken, ensnare him!" Mako ordered. Giant tentacles lashed out from the water and pulled Yugi's imp apart.

"You're good, Mako, a brilliant opening play," Yugi congratulated.
"I am pleased you appreciate it," Mako replied. "Though I doubt your Imp did."

"Well, now I know what I'm up against." Said Yugi
"Yes, the mighty ocean commands respect! As do the creatures who inhabit it!
'Maybe I can prepare an attack that would destroy his monsters even though I can't see him,'Yugi figured. "I summon the Feral Imp!" he yelled as a familiar green winged imp from his duel with Weevil appeared..
Feral Imp ATK/DEF: 1300/1400
"I am aware of your feral monster," Mako said as he summoned a monster in response. "And it's an electrical attack. So for my next card..." He set a monster in defense mode. A loud cry could be heard from the sea side's depth.
"I don't like the sound of that," Yugi said.
Mako laughed. "That is the battle cry of my creature!"
"It'll be crying all right," Yugi said, laying down another card. "Once I combine my Feral Imp with the magical Horn of the Unicorn!" A golden horn replaced the Feral Imp's normal one as its attack and defense points were raised.

"All right," Joey said.
"What?" Tea asked.
"Yugi can't see Mako's monsters, but he knows they're under water and water conducts electricity!"
"So they're vulnerable to the Feral Imp's electrical attack!" Tea said, to catch on. "That is so smart!"
"Magic Lightning Attack!" The Imp shot electricity into the water.
"It's a fish fry," Joey jokes.
But Mako didn't seem upset, quite the contrary. And soon, the reason revealed itself. His life points weren't decreasing.
"Your strategy has failed, Yugi," Mako said.
"But how?"
"As a sea-based Duelist, I'm perfectly aware that water conducts electricity. So I played with my Giant Jellyfish. It has the magical ability to absorb all electrical attacks." Mako counterattacked with his Fiend Kraken. "Did you enjoy my Kraken's embrace?" He asked, laughing.

'I've never dueled against creatures like these before. It feels like I'm battling against Mako's sea monsters and the awesome power of the ocean itself.' Yugi thought to himself
"Do any of your monsters have the ability to stand up to my ocean pets?" Mako asked
"I have the power of Silver Fang! And I combine it with the magic of the full moon to double his ferocity!" Yugi replied as he summoned a new monster, a large white wolf with sharp, soulful dark eyes as it howled at a full moon above the field.
Silver Fang- ATK/DEF: 1200/800 1500/1100
"Ferocious indeed," Mako said laughing. "But the moon also controls the tides causing them to rise allowing me to unleash my next great creature. Arise, mighty Kairyu-Shin!"
Everyone could only watch and stare as his monster emerged from the sea tides. It could only be described as an eel like with a long, serpentine body that was a deep blue with a whitish-beige underbelly, it was eyeless and had a mouth full of jagged, sharp, red-colored teeth.
Kairyu-Shin ATK/DEF: 1800/1500 2340/1950
"Behold, the mighty Kairyu-Shin, a creature so massive that when it rises up from the ocean's depths, it creates its own tidal wave! Your creature's brave, Yugi, but it can't stand up to Kuriyoshi's mighty tidal attack." The monster unleashed the tidal wave drowning Silver Fang. "But my serpent did more than just wash your dog away. It considerably altered our playing field."
"My land!" Yugi exclaimed as he saw his side of the field, once a rocky shore, was submerged in water, save for one speck of land, which now served as a lonely isle among Mako's expanded field, "His attack nearly wiped away the entire land-based field!"
"In my previous duels, Kairyu-Shin's attack is so massive that it leaves nothing in its wake. I think it was quite considerate of my pet to leave you a patch of dirt to stand on. Or does it make you uneasy to be surrounded on all sides of the sea?" Mako's expression suddenly grew dark. "All men give pause before the mighty ocean, even the greatest of fishermen."
"You mean your father..."
Mako dropped his cards on the table. "My father was a great fisherman. He taught me my love of the sea. But... one day, the sea... took him. I loved going out on the boat with my father. It was just the two of us and the big, beautiful, ocean. We never suspected that the sea would turn on us. It was a bright day when it happened. My father suspected a storm had been brewing and didn't want to take any chances. He told me that it was better not to challenge the mighty sea. And he was right. The calm ocean turned into a wallowing maelstrom! It rocked our boat all over the place. My father strapped me to the main mast to keep me from falling over, but it was pointless. A tidal wave capsized our boat. When the storm died out, our little boat had been washed ashore. My father was right, I had been safe, but he... because he had stopped to tie me down, he had no time to secure himself!"
"Poor guy," Kairi muttered. Sora could only nod for he remembered when his own dad perished at sea. The last memory he had of him was him sailing off.
"I've all but given up hope, but then I noticed that our lifeboat was missing. I know my father is alive. So I will win this contest, buy a ship, and sail the seven seas until I find him! That is why I duel, Yugi, that is why I must win and you must lose."
"I understand, Mako, believe me," Yugi empathized with his opponent. "But I can't let you win."
The others were taken aback by Mako's story. "Mako duels for his Dad like Yugi duels for his Grandpa," Joey related.
"And you do for Serenity" said Kisara feeling bad for Mako.
"Whoa, this is too intense." Said Miho
'With so little land left, I really need to make this next play count. I need something that will help me turn the tides. Something like... this card!' Yugi thought. "Giant Soldier of Stone!" He summoned a monster that could only be described as a golem carved out of large boulders styled like a warrior with a pair of swords on its back, standing imposingly in a kneeling position.

"You may have shrunk my battlefield down to an island, Mako, but my Stone Soldier still gets a field power bonus!"

"Your massive monster can barely fit on that rock let alone do battle with my mighty undersea attack force!" Mako exclaimed, as Yugi didn't retort. "And he's surrounded on all sides by the ocean, making him easy prey for... Great White Terror! A glow appeared beneath the water like before, but this time, the monster jumped out of the water, revealing itself it live up to its name, resembling a Great White Shark, but strangely had a pair of human arms perturbing from its fins.
Great White Terror ATK/DEF: 1500/1200 1950/1560
"This monster will lead my other deep-sea soldiers in an all-out ocean onslaught!"
"Yugi's guy is outnumbered four to one," Joey realized.
"I don't like those odds," Tristan added.
'Looks like his stone soldier is about to become fish food,' Sora thought.
"This is it, Yugi! It's over, but you dueled honorably."
"You're a fair and worthy opponent yourself, Mako, but I also duel with the fate of a loved one at stake." Yugi responded, returning Mako's smile, though there was a resolve in his eyes. "And I can't afford to lose. I switch my Stone Soldier to attack mode!"
"Attack mode, but why? He can't attack my sea monsters while they're underwater." Mako stated as the giant stone man slowly rose from his kneeling position to stand at full height.
"But his target isn't your sea monsters. I'm having him attack a card I laid on the field myself." Yugi explained, pointing at the moon, which still hung above the field, making everyone gasp in shock.
"No!" Mako exclaimed.
The Stone Soldier drew one of his swords (also made of rock). "Now, Stone Soldier, destroy the moon!" The Soldier stabbed the moon and broke it apart. "As you yourself said, Mako, the moon does control the tides; its ebb and its flow. So I ordered my Stone Soldier to obliterate the moon causing the ocean's tide to reverse and recede." The tide literally went out. Now it was more land than sea and Mako's monsters were beached. "And now I'll deliver the final blow. I combine my Curse of Dragon with the magic of the burning land card to wipe out your life points!" Yugi's skeleton dragon appeared and fried Mako's fish.

Mako almost fell to his knees from both shock and despair, shock from the suddenness of the roundabout move and despair from the loss itself, but caught himself.
"Alright Yugi!" Tea and Miho cheered.
Joey and Tristan grinned at each other, while Sora and kairi did a thumbs up to the teen . Kisara could only smile. "Well done Yugi."
"To destroy your own moon was a truly unexpected but brilliant move Yugi," Mako stated before grinning broadly, "What a grand duel, I salute you my friend!" He gave a cheerful, mock salute, bearing no ill will, which made everyone smile
"This victory certainty wasn't an easy one Mako," Yugi complemented back as they got off the platforms, "You're an impressive duelist yourself, well deserving of your title." Mako handed Yugi his fairly-earned Star Chips as the arena disappeared back beneath the real ocean.
"I am down to one Star Chip," Mako said with a serious undertone beneath his otherwise up-beat voice, "But I will start over."
"There are ten finalist spots," Yugi acknowledged, "I bet you'll do well."
"You'd win that wager!" Mako laughed.
"He better, cause now I really want a shot at ya at the finals," Joey added and Sora nodded in agreement.
"It'll be a match to look forward to," Mako chuckled as Sora spoke up.
"Mako," He started getting his attention and surprised everyone with a bow as he said, "I'm sorry about your father," Mako starred in surprise, blinking, of all things he expected him to say, that wasn't one of them, as he straightened, "I know what's it like to lose your dad at sea."
"You mean…." Said Mako.
"My dad perished at sea years ago too...he was a marine and he was to go on another tour on his ship with his crew…..two weeks later, we learned his ship was sinked and there was no survivors. All I have of him is my crown necklace he gifted me five years ago" said Sora holding his crown necklace.
"Sora," said Yugi sadly not knowing that, the rest of the group looked at sora in sympathy. Kairi went over to him and took his hand into hers. Sora barely spoke for weeks after the funeral but he eventually came out of the depression with Riku and Kairis support.
"I am sorry to hear about your father." Said Mako with a reassuring smile..
"It's fine. I miss him greatly but I learned that even though our loved ones are gone. They still live within us ." Said Sora.
The moment was ruined by a loud rumbling sound, which was coming from Mako's stomach, making him laugh, his boisterous and gleeful attitude returning, "It appears that duel made me hungry!" He suddenly turned and ran at the cliff-edge, shouting in exhilaration and excitement, "Time for Mako to fish again!" Mako dived with a final yell, "Farewell!" Everyone rushed to the edge to see him swimming off to catch more fish.
"Goodbye Mako!" Sora called with a wide smile as he waved, "See you in the finals!"
"We best be moving on," Yugi stated.
"Yeah, before Mako decides he wants a rematch," Joey joked as the rest followed.
"You know, Mako really wasn't such a bad guy after all," Kairi said. "I guess not every Duelist is out to stop you, Yugi."
"Oh man, we forgot to ask Mako to bring us back some fish," Joey realized.
"We'd have to duel him for it," Yugi pointed out.
"We still have some stuff left for at least another day." Said Kairi. The group then head off to find their next opponent,

Meanwhile, in an isolated house on a cliff, sitting in a chair was Seto Kaiba, very deep in thought.
'It's no use,' Seto Kaiba thought. 'I've gone over it a dozen times in my mind and I just can't seem to figure it out. How is it a kid who came out of nowhere able to beat a champion like me? I've run computer simulations, probability scenarios, and quantum analysis of our duel, but I still don't have the answer. I've been clearly dominating the match. My Blue-Eyes White Dragon ripped through his forces. I was on the verge of winning! But Yugi wouldn't give up. Against all odds, he had absolute faith in his Grandfather's deck. And somehow, he was able to draw the one card to ensure his victor. Exodia, he played Exodia. Ever since the game's creation, nobody had been able to summon Exodia. Even those who had all five pieces in their deck weren't able to play them all before the duel was done. And yet, this kid was. I always thought Duel Monsters was all about sheer power, but Yugi believes that the cards have a heart. It sounds crazy, but could Yugi be right? Is there really a heart of the cards that can affect the outcome of a duel?'
Kaiba finished the plate-size disk with five slots. 'The only way I'll know for sure is to face Yugi again, and these new portable holo generators will enable me to challenge him no matter where I find him. If I can just get to…'
Kaiba planning was interrupted by a sharp knock on the door.
"Seto Kaiba! We know you're in there, open the door right now or we'll blow it open!" Kaiba was able to place the portable holo generators into his brief case before the two guards burst through the door and aimed guns at him. "Let's go, Kaiba."
"Mister Pegasus would like to have a few words with you."
"I bet he would," Kaiba mumbled, standing up with the chair between him and them. "But it'll take more than you two goons to get me."
"This can go easy or we can just shoot and forget about the questions."
"You'll never take me alive!" Kaiba said. That is when the two goons fall facedown as if they had been knocked out, . a boy about the age of Seventeen with short brown hair and he wore glasses. The boy was in a modified wheelchair, "It's a good thing i found you Seto" said the teen.
"Bentley?, what are you doing here?" Said Kaiba.
"Kisara asked me to check on you. Also, I hacked into Industiral Illusions and saw the secret meeting between Pegasus and the big five. I saw that Pegasus kidnapped Mokuba just to have an heir of Kaibacorp." said Bentley.
"What?" Said Seto.
"Come on, let's go!' Said Bentley before wheeling to a purple minivan. The sliding door opened and Bentley got in, seto followed suit and the mini van turned on by itself and the van drove to get away from Pegasus Goons,
