Driving to the truck, the I.M.P gain was trying so hard to catch up to it in the van. Ned looked at the driver and recognized Cody in the back, waving and saying hi to his neighbor. "We're not catching up to him enough!" said cody. "What can we do?"
An idea came into Blitzo's head and he pulled out his golden flintlock and shot at the left rear tire of the truck, making it pop and the driver having trouble steering it.
Ned, being an innocent toddler that he was, was having fun time and thought this was like a carnival ride as he was being bounced from the motion over and over again on the mattresses below him, over and over again. Ultimately, this caused the truck to hit a nearby brick wall of an apartment complex. Luckily, Ned didn't get hurt and the motion made him bounce an even higher altitude. Cody gasped and hopped out of the van to catch Ned.
Thankfully, the boy managed to catch the toddler, though he fell on his back and his body broke Ned's fall, making him clap happily like this was some kind of game.
Of course, Cody couldn't really be mad at Ned. His brain was still developing since he is only two. The older boy found himself being gently picked up by Tex and his solid wall of muscle.
"You kids ok?" Asked Tex
"Yeah. We're good." Cody sighed. "That was close.
"Again!" Ned clapped his hands in excitement.
"look, why don't we just call it a day, and get you back home, Ned?" Said Cody
"What the fuck is the big idea?!" Said the truck driver, coming out to berate the whole gang. Another person came out as well.
The driver looked like a bear-like demon with gargantuan size, about as big as a standing extinct short-faced bear. "Who's the wise fucker that shot at the tire?"
"Hey, hey, hey, take it easy on the language!" Cody said, covering Ned's ears.
"Wait, you're that human kid." Said the bear-like demon. "Never thought I would run into you. Not like in a car, but, you know what I mean."
"Well, I say, i say, I say." Said a familiar carny voice. Wally Wackford was coming out from behind the truck. "If it isn't Cody Laurent."
"Wally?" Cody said.
"Look, can someone explain to me why Blitzo here shot at my delivery truck of mattress?" Wally demanded. "The customers buying these babies are expecting it in a few minutes."
Cody cleared his throat and said: "it's my fault. I wasn't keeping track of Cody while babysitting him for the night. He was chasing a red butterfly and all these crazy stuff happened all at once. The crane, Ned going on it, and landing on the mattress of your truck, we were only trying to get him back. Not looking for any trouble."
"Ah. So you mean to say that the little piece of meat here accidentally got on the back of my truck from falling from a high altitude?" Said the bear-demon.
"that's what he said, dude." Loona flatly said.
"Don't worry. We couldn't see the little critter back there. I could only see you guys."
"Then why were you driving away from us?" Said Moxxie
"I say, I say, I say, because I thought you I.M.P people were trying to rob me blind."
"Pfft, why the f- i mean, why the actual heck would you think we would rob you blind, Wally?" said Millie
"Are you kiddin me, little lady? This is Hell? What did you expect? Sometimes you can't trust anyone down here since a large chunk of the population is a bunch of deceased sinners that made God angry to send them all down here in the first place. Some folks never change, even after death."
"Good point." said Moxxie. "A point very well-taken. One can't be too careful down here."
"But i still need to get these mattresses to them morons who ordered them." Wally pointed. "Luckily, they live in this building that we crashed in."
Looking a little guilty, Cody realized that this was unintentionally his fault that Wally is about to fuck up this mattress delivery order. "You know, what?" he said, "Tex, can you help Wally here?"
The male burly hellhound smiled. "Yeah. Sure thing, buddy."
Wally smiled with hope. "Y'all would do that for me?" said the carny demon. The boy smiled and nodded his head. Before the kid knew it, after he gave Ned to Loona, Cody felt himself hugged by Wally. "I say, I say, I say! Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
Tex, along with the bear demon got the mattresses off the now-damaged truck, and hauled them inside the apartment buildings for the customers to take. While the burly demons were helping Wally with the delivery, Wally looked at Ned.
"So, is he your brother?"
"Well no." Cody admitted. "He is like a little brother to me. Ned looks up to me, and i was once his neighbor before... the tragedy."
Wally frowned, knowing exactly what the kid was talking about. "Right. That makes sense, I say. You are a likable scamp, Cody."
"You're not wrong." Loona said. "He's one of a kind."
After a few minutes, the delivery was done, and Wally was given a huge sum of cash from the clients, making him really happy.
"Thank y'all again." Said Wally. "I say, I say, I say, I don't know how I can ever thank ya."
"How about... free ice cream at your place for free for a whole month?" Blitzo had a sneaky look on his lizard-like face.
"deal!" Wally pointed
"sorry about the truck."
"not to worry. I know a mechanic that can help me out. You guys go on ahead."
They all said their byes to the carny imp and walked away. "You know, I have an idea to show Ned some fun." Octavia said.
"It won't hurt him, right?"
"no. He'll love it. Trust me, Cody." Via urged.
It was nice to be back at the Goetia chateau, and Stolas was more than happy to see everyone, particularly Blitzo. Or... was he?
"Hello. Everyone. Do come on in." Stolas said. "And Blitzo... we need to talk."
"Oh not another..." Blitzo looked at the kids and back to the owl demon. "Session, is it?"
"No, no, of course not, Blitzo. Nothing like that this time."
"Ah... wait, did you just call me Blitzo? I thought you call me Blitzy like you would always do."
"I know, I know." Stolas sighed. "And you are not in trouble. I promise. Via, why don't you take Cody and his friends upstairs while I talk to him?"
"Sure thing, dad."
Up in the bedroom of the princess herself, Octavia pulled out a magical orb the color of bone white. Cody and Ned touched it and with her hands. The boys and Loona were transported somewhere else, or something like a projection screen but more realistic.
It looked like somewhere in outer space, and they were on a meteor. "Oh my Satan." Loona breathed. Where are we, Octavia?"
"Well, we're in space."
"What?" The female hellhound said. "How can we breathe?"
"Oh it's not really outer space, it is only magic." The princess clarified. "But it feels like we are in outer space."
Cody and Ned were astonished by how real this was, and they both looked around at their surroundings: the stars, the galaxies. The nebulas scattered across space, everything. "What do you guys think?"
"meh, whatever." Loona immediately sounded indifferent.
"It looks so cool." Cody said.
"Stars." Ned pointed.
"So what did your dad want with Blitzo anyway?" Asked Loona
Via frowned and simply replied: "I don't know. He wouldn't tell me. But he said he wanted to give him something."
"Ah."
Meanwhile, Blitzo was sitting in the chair of Stolas' bedroom and the owl demon looked a little uneasy. "Do you have the book?"
"I do. Why?" Blitzo pulled out the grimwoir. He felt it being taken away by Stolas' magic.
"I will be needing it back. Permanently." He teleported it back to the shelf where Blitzo originally found it before.
Looking at some more stars and planets in the cosmos, Cody was having the time of his life, and he dreamed of being in space somehow. Of course, on earth, trying to take a trip to space was no walk on the park. It would have to cost a lot of money to go up there in the unknown, he he felt like his dream had come true. Illusion or not."
"Having fun, Cody?" Asked Octavia
"I am." The boy replied. Looking at his neighbor, he asked: "do you like it, Ned?"
"Yeah!" The toddler exclaimed.
It felt so weird to Cody since things would float in space, but they were actually... walking on invisible air. The room transported to in front of Jupiter, the gas giant is the solar system itself. It was an amazing sight to see, even if they all weren't actually in front of the galaxy's largest planet.
