Author's Note: Yes, I'm continuing MHA from various points of view! I'm into Season 5-6, chapters 242-298 (Plus World Heroes Mission and Light Novel Volume 5) for this year, and I hope you all continue enjoying hearing this story from supporting characters. Sad the series ended, and plan to continue the plot in my own way once I catch up. In my mind it will go on and in any ways I want, as long as I keep doing this. Faithful fans unite!
I was home for New Year's Eve, and my parents and me were busy, enjoying being together, sharing stores late into the night. The best part for me was when I heard dad's construction business was doing better lately. They were both smiling as they told me - and it made me happier than just about anything. Well, anything but the mocha-pounding event! IT was a local thing, a tradition every New Year's Day, and this year I'd be joining.
"HRAAH!" I shouted.
"There ya go, Ochaco! Put yer back into it! WE 're whipping up the stickiest, tastiest mocha you ever laid eyes on!"
It was New Years and I was working with one fo our older neighbors to flatten the mocha with a mallet while he kneaded the dough between the blows.
"You got it! HRAHH!"
Take no prisoners! I will have m y mocha!
"Whoa, Ochaco's so intense!" Said one of our neighborhood kids.
Steam was rising from the mocha, which we handed off to another group to be sliced, rounded, and paired with kink powder, ankle paste, sweet soy sauce - mmm! It made me grin just thinking about it. Everyone started feasting!
I grinned as I scarfed down my starchy mocha kink. One of the neighborhood kids suddenly gasped.
"Hey hey, Ochaco! Is that Bakugo guy bullying you at school?"
"Huh? Not a chance! Why'd you ask?"
"Cuz, I mean, we saw how nasty he was to you at the spots festival thing!"
Where'd they get that idea? I guess cause they saw Bakugo meet me on TV during the Sports Fest. And now we live in the same dorm.
"Naw, that wasn't bullying! He just gave me a proper fight is all."
"You sure?"
'Mm-hm! It was real frustrating to lose that battle, but I'd rather eat an honest loss than have a guy go easy on me! In fact, it made me want to work even harder. And Bakugo's really not all bad, even if he does need that dirty mouth washed out with soap."
"That's good he's not bullying you! But he should stop saying bad words, huh."
"On the other hand, if he cleaned up his act, I dunno if Bakugo really would be Bakugo anymore, y'know?"
I got ready for more mocha, but my parents waved me over.
"There's just something different about digging into mocha you pounded, Ochaco!" Said Dad.
"You can thank these guns for that," I boasted and flexed.
"Oh, we can tell!" Said Mom, giving my arm a squeeze.
"Heh heh," I chuckled, and blushed a little.
"But how's that winter homework coming along?" Asked dad. "Not gonna leave it till the last second like always, right?"
"I-I'm on top of it! Getting it done, y'uno. Erm, but I forgot all about the kakizobe assignment."
"Kakizobe? What is this, kindergarten?"
"Aizawa sensei doesn't want us losing too much focus over the break, I guess. We're s'posed to represent an aspiration for the coming year. Any ideas?"
"I'd go with shobai hanjou, hoping for success in business," said dad.
"I just want a safe, happy home, so that sentiment kanai anzen gets my vote," said mom.
"Yakiniku teishoku could be a good option. Everyone loves a grilled menu combo platter," said dad.
"I'm not writing a menu, dad!" I laughed. I wonder what Deku would right? What about using douryoku for effort? Or maybe something with a plus ultra or All Might theme? I grinned and mom asked, "What's up?"
"Nah, s'nothing," I insisted.
"We know your grades are fine, but how about the social side of things? Any crushes?"
"Huh?" I gasped and blushed.
"Oh, I see!" Said mom.
"O-Ochaco, say it ain't so! You don't got a special someone already, do you?" Asked dad.
"N-No way!" I cried. "Who, me? Naw! Nuh-uh!"
Dad seemed to freak out even more. "Boyfriend - engagement - marriage!" I shouted, starting to cry. "It's too soon for my little girl to be a blushing bride!"
"You're the one who needs to slow down, dad!"
"What's that? Sweet lil Ochaco's getting married?" Said some neighbor.
"Who's the lucky feller? Lemme read I'm the riot act to make sure he's worthy!"
"There's no lucky feller!" I said, blushing.
"You gotta stop running your mouth, dear," said Mom, punching dad's arm.
"My Ochaco!" Dad cried.
Once the chaos calmed down I took a deep breath and got back into mochi. "Stupid dad," I muttered. Still - gotta love him.
Can't spend time thinking about marriage now. Too much else to focus on if I ever want to grow into a hero who will bring smiles to everyone. I'll do mocha for my kakizobe! Since mocha is tough and tenacious, just like how I wanna be.

Later that day, I met Tsu at Ryukyu's agency. And luckily for me, the package I'd ordered came - with the new costume and all the modifications!
"Yay! The new costume I ordered arrived just in time!" I laughed as I strutted my stuff in front of the other ladies.
"It's lovely on you, Ochaco!" Said Tsu.
"Yes, Uravity. Quite nice."
"Thanks, everyone! Hey, hey!"
"Is there a reason you wanted a new costume made?"
"C'mon. You can tell me!" Said Nejire.
"Well, if you really wanna know, it's…" I flushed a little.
"Hm?"
"It's a secret?" I told her.
"Aw, well that's no fun. But why? That's weird."
One of Ryukyu's sidekicks thankfully interrupted us. "Well, good job on your first day of work studies. Consider this your welcome party, ladies."
A feast, all laid out!
"Looks so good!"
"Cheers!"
We weren't free to enjoy good food for long, though. The news was one. And it wasn't great.
"Now on to our next story. After a week of intense flames, the large-scale wildfire in the country of Kaflin has finally started showing signs of slowing. The fire is thought to be caused by an expl*si*n at an illicit site manufacturing the illegal drug called "Trigger"…"
""Trigger"?" I asked.
"I know what that is! Wanna hear? A banned substance! It's illegal because bad people use it to send their Quirks into overdrive." Said Nejire.
"She's , it enhances your power and makes you stronger. Just like previous boosters. And trigger is circulating throughout Japan. So we've been looking for a way to lower its distribution rates."
"We've heard rumors about the factory explosion. There should have been chemicals there that are used to manufacture Trigger, but no remnants were found after the blast.
It seems likely that they were taken from the warehouse before the fire started.
That would have big implications."
"Was the explosion used to destroy evidence and distract us?" Said Ryukyu.
"I'm not sure. Either way, none of this has been confirmed."
"Team-up request, ma'am. Sounds urgent," said another.
"Who's it from?"
"The Sea Rescue Hero. Selkie."
Tsu looked a little freaked. "Selkie's in trouble?"
"Oh, that's right! He's the pro hero you did your internship with on the ship."
"I hope nothing's happened to him and his crew."
Ryukyu stood up and faced us all. "Uravity. Froppy. Nejire- Chan . Let's get ready. Team Ryukyu is heeding their call."
"Yes, ma'am," I said with Hado.
"Ribbit!" Said Tsu.
